I've been coming here once or twice a year for 10 years. Each stylist I book with has been great! They are friendly and do a great job creating the cut I want. This last visit was with Lexi and she was awesome! You get to feel pampered while getting your hair washed with little additions like a face wrap to relax or hand massage. Since the kid haircut place we went to closed, my daughter has been coming here too for the last few years. She's spoiled with the fancy hair wash and head massage haha. They offer children's hair cut prices starting at $40. You can book online and find the perfect time as well as level of stylist with price tiers. Tangerine Aveda seems like a great place, but I unfortunately had a bad experience. I was sick the week of my appointment and had just started a new job, so the appointment slipped my mind. When I called to reschedule (and still wanted to stay with my same stylist), they told me it was two hours past the appointment change window and that I'd be charged half of what I had planned for a hair treatment. I get that policies are policies, but what if I had changed what I wanted done? I even mentioned that I would've happily given that money as a tip directly to my stylist next time, but they said they don't allow that. It came across as more of a money-grab than a customer-focused experience, which is disappointing because their booking system is actually super convenient. That said, my first appointment with Cassandra was wonderful -- she was so kind and absolutely nailed what I wanted for my hair. I really would've loved to keep going back to her, but after this, it just left a bad taste. read more

TLDR: Do NOT leave your Credit Card details with them!!! We had an appointment for our girls haircut which was cancelled last minute by Tangerine staff on Jan 10th. We rescheduled it to Jan 19th and this time, we were traveling and could not make it. They called and said we had confirmed the appointment. We told them that we had not confirmed the appointment and shared a screen shot NOT confirming the appointment. They told us too bad and that they will charge our card for entire service anyway. This is after we explicitly told them that they don't have our authorization. They said that the owner will call us back. And she never did. We called again on Jan 20th but she is incommunicado according to her front office employee. I explained the problem to this employee and she said that they DON'T need any appointment confirmation to charge the card. So one employee said they got an appointment confirmation and so they are charging the card. The other employee says they don't even need a confirmation to charge the card. This after they cancelled on us just last week. Scammy? Yes! read more

The best salon/spa in Reno! I go to Shelbi and she always makes my hair look exactly how I imagined it! She has given me trims, full cuts, bangs, color, and highlights and they always look perfect! I also recently got a wax at tangerine with Alison and she was great! She is calm and talkative which helped take my mind off the wax.
