The chef's table in the kitchen where Nick serves his magic. Unfortunately, since we always like a ground floor room, it was like the dinner was taking place in our room. For three nights the party rolled on from six to nine. The dinner guests also took over the common area so you were pretty much stuck in your room. Nick is a doll, and from what we read about him in the newspaper, a super star. The inn needs to inform guests on the first floor that the noise is loud from these dinners and that the common areas will not be accessible during these times. That being said everyone we spoke with about these dinners said they were fabulous and worth not only the cost but the wait. I can only suggest that the owners convert one of the bedrooms into a common area for guests of the inn only. We left for one night on Sunday and returned on Monday for another stay. It was amazing!!! It was quiet and relaxing, and our fireplace was fixed. The upside is that our room was beautiful and there was lots of storage. The bathrooms are large and the shower is very nice once the water heats up. There was only one end table, but that seems to be the trend which is very odd to us. There is no breakfast served at the Inn. You get little bees, worth twelve dollars, and have to walk to the Honey Cup which is about three blocks away. Fine in good weather, which we were fortunate to have, but I would think not so great if it is raining or snowing. Hence, the Inn is more like a Airbnb. The Manager, Lee, is a ten out of ten. She tries to accommodate the needs of every guest. She is so sweet and kind and helpful. Nothing we have complained about is her fault. She goes out of her way to ensure you have the best stay possible!!!

Vivian has every little beautiful or welcoming detail covered, and the place is immaculately clean. There are intriguing antiques and pictures everywhere to add to the ambiance. The breakfast is sumptuous, but despite all that work, she was kind enough to make me something I preferred. I stayed two nights, at the start and end of my road trip, in two different parts of her lodgings. Both were lovely. It's quiet, for a light sleeper like me, and also important for a woman traveling alone, I felt safe. Vivian even has done the genealogy on the Inn from its early years, and discovered she's descended from the some of the original owners! She said how the community there has been so kind to her. Now that's real sense of place. I highly recommend Timber Post for a true New England Bed and Breakfast experience, in rural Hollis. A delight.

Entirely misadvertised and the woman who runs it is defensive of these small things, making it even…read moreworse. - advertised as having a private bathroom and it does not - breakfast listed as 7:30-9:30am in the booklet that is in the room but it is not, it is at exactly 8am only which we were never notified about - the noise is terrible - I was woken up to people talking downstairs that sounded like they were in our room, and that continued until we left - woman running it just got defensive when trying to address the bathroom and breakfast, just saying "but we've had a lot of people stay without any complaint" - for every person who says something, though, there are a hundred who don't say anything. - we had to "prove" to her that the listing was wrong bc she just tried to say that she didn't realize and blamed it on booking.com, though it is not the fault of booking.com, it is the fault of the business and it is illegal to do this kind of bait and switch - she offered a 10% refund while asking "are you going to write a bad review either way?" - well, I wasn't planning on it, but the fact that she tried to bribe us to not write a review means I sure as heck am now - on top of all of this, the bathroom was out of toilet paper with no more rolls available I suggest avoiding this place unless you want to have no idea what you show up to regardless of what you booked, then want to deal with a defensive woman who won't internalize or listen to the issues. The response also showed the inability to internalize feedback, and misguided perspective on that feedback. Sitting on the couch you are about 4 feet away from the fireplace and the tv which is on the wall above the fireplace which you really can't sit and watch the TV without getting a stiff neck! For the price there are other hotels in the area that give you more space and don't lock you out!

The walls are adorned with local art for sale and each room has its own name and character. We stayed in the Juliet and Romeo; the ladies are listed first on each door; a wise move. While there's not a lot to do in Greenfield, New Hampshire, it's all within a few doors of the Inn. Mi Corazon is an excellent Mexican restaurant two doors down; great food, margaritas, and Saturday night karaoke was a blast. Harvest Market, two more doors down, has everything plus locally sourced products from produce to craft beers and specialty foods. The church from the 1700s is across the street but Sunday we stayed behind enjoying the breakfast spread and Keurig coffees. This is a beautiful part of New Hampshire that has kept its charm. The church bell still chimes on the hour in this small town even as time itself seems to slow down.
