The dentist is very condescending and rude. When I set up the first appointment, I asked if we could schedule the time to treat her preexisting small cavity with SDF after the initial consultation. They stated that the first appointment was for 1 hour so there should be plenty of time and it was the last appointment before the lunch break. It was $125 for the dentist to look at her tooth which I already knew was a small cavity as we were just switching from a previous dentist because I thought it would be better to use a "pediatric dentist". They seemed pissed that I did not want x rays (which she clearly didn't need). After looking at her tooth, I asked if they had time to do the SDF treatment (which takes 10-15 minutes max once her mouth is open). The dentist said "we don't have time in our schedule". I said "Okay, it's just a long drive for us." He rudely said "Well. Wish we were closer to your house but... we're not." Next day we went back for the SDF treatment, I asked for him to apply the fluoride varnish on a tooth that had the start of a cavity. He said, "I looked at her teeth yesterday, there is no cavity there." I said, "okay, do you mind taking a look?" He said "Do you think it changed in a day?" Her previous dentist had already mentioned there was the start of a cavity on that tooth and you can clearly see the dark spots from the plaque. He is just arrogant and rude. He did the SDF treatment, did not apply fluoride to the tooth I asked, and dropped the SDF on her face so now there is a 3 inch mark on her cheek that will take 2-3 weeks to come off. There also is no play area for toddlers while they wait, only screens everywhere... I do not know how this guy has such good reviews but he must have paid a lot of money for them because they can't be real. read more

My daughter's experience with the front office staff was pretty awful today. She was running 12 minutes late for a 7:30am appointment today due to construction being on our main street (Glenn St.) this morning. I called the office to let them know that she was going to be late, and the lady said they had a 10 minute grace period, but anything after that would need to be rescheduled. When she got there, my daughter said that the parking lot and the main lobby were empty, but the lady she spoke to said that she would need to reschedule her appointment and pay the $50 cancellation fee. Apparently, because I had used my one-time forgiveness cancellation fee after 15 plus years at this business with three kids, the lady was not willing to let my daughter get away without paying up. She even asked my daughter if I should be called to pay for it. I am not happy with any of this. The first cancellation fee was not because of my daughter, who just started taking herself to appointments, and shouldn't she be extended the "grace fee" as a person who is just taking herself to the dentist? read more

Very pleased with our first visit!! My daughter gets nervous with new people but this office was very calm and patient with her. They took great care of her teeth and was clear on communication with her needs. I appreciated the service we received and will make this our regular dentist office for my children. read more

I have 4 kids and we've been going to Great Grins for several years now. We LOVE it! We have recommended it to quite a few people over the years, and everyone we know feels the same. Our kids have never had a bad experience there, with everything from cleanings to cavity-filling to extractions. They are on-time and all of the staff are friendly and make it a good, kid-friendly experience. The dentists are clear, thorough, and great with kids. What inspired me to write this review after going for several years is our recent experience with a dental emergency over the weekend. They called me back within an hour and met me at the office less than an hour later even though it was a Saturday; I was so thankful as I didn't know how we would manage through the weekend. My kids have been going to Great Grins for years and have been very pleased with our experiences up until now. My daughter had an appointment on a Tuesday but to due to an unforeseen accident she wasn't able to make it. She called the 48hrs in advance and left a message that she needed to reschedule. We are now being charged the $50 for a missed appointment. I am really surprised that this would happen after being such loyal clients for years. We had the most amazing experience today. I've been dreading taking my son, with special needs, to the dentist because I didn't think it would be something he'd cooperate with. The dental assistant (Natalie) was so awesome and was not only able to get a complete cleaning done but also a complete set of xrays! Dr. Lele who examined him was great as well. Hands down Dr. Lele and Dr. Wolfman are the best pediatric dentists in Southern Arizona. My girls have been going here since we moved back from Atlanta 7 years ago. I had no idea that other places in Tucson did not have pediatric dentists only general dentists who liked working with children. This makes a huge difference in your child's treatment process. I hear horror stories all of the time from parents who think their child is seeing a pediatric dentist, at Great Grins I know my children are getting appropriate, compassionate care. I was a little nervous about bringing my 4yr old in for her first dentist visit.. but right away I knew this would be an excellent experience. When we entered the office, the lobby area was set up entirely to cater to the children on one side, with 2 xboxes set up, a lego station, a very nice library of children's books, a movie playing for entertainment and some younger toddler sensory toys.. and one side had a television and chairs for adults to wait in without the toys... we got in very quickly--the fact that I was able to fill out the paperwork online before getting there was a huge time saver and way more comfortable to type than writing out all that information!! Our dental technician, (I think is her title)..Natalie, was very sweet and gave us a tour of the facility, which was very nice and made me feel welcome. She was also very sweet with my daughter and almost couldn't keep up with how chatty my kid was being! Haha-- Dr Wolfman was very sweet also and happy to explain all things to me. The staff is fantastic and obviously very experienced with children. We were a bit early for our appointment, but still ended up being brought back about ten minutes after our scheduled time. I had specifically made appointments for my children to be seen simultaneously (we were only there for cleanings and exams) but they saw one at a time. We ended up being in the back for about two hours which resulted in some restless, cranky, hungry kids. When Dr. Wolfman gave me her treatment plan, she told me what she was going to do instead of framing it as a recommendation. I was not invited into the conversation, and I was made to feel quite incompetent, despite being a medical professional myself. I respect her expertise in pediatric dentistry, but I did not feel respected as the expert concerning my children. I asked for alternative strategies to help make sure my children (4 and 7) continue good oral hygiene when I am gone (which is often) and I was told tritely to explain to my partner how important it is for him to help the children (as if I had never thought of that). Unfortunately, lack of support is the reason I asked Dr. Wolfman for suggestions, but she made me feel stupid for obviously failing to get my husband on the same page. I left in tears. I don't know if we will be going back. My children definitely need the dental work done, but it is vital that I am part of the team, and Dr. Wolfman certainly seemed like she needs to be the star player. read more

The Dr. and his staff are professional and relate well with the kids.
