I am certainly glad to know that a place like this exists for people who need muffins, cakes, brownies, cookies or cupcakes that fit their specific food needs. Having said that, I am neither gluten-free or vegan so I care most about the taste of how a product is. If it is on the healthier side then great, but I'm okay indulging now and then. I got the gluten-free, organic glazed blueberry lemon muffin. The muffin was gigantic so even though it was on the pricier side it has quality ingredients and I think you get what you pay for. I liked the glazed top of the muffin and there was a lot of blueberries in it. I didn't really get much of a lemon flavor at all, which I was a bit disappointed about. The actual storefront is not a place where you can sit and enjoy your baked good, it is more of a grab and go sort of place as it is tiny and right by a gas station. I almost didn't see the spot since it is kind of tucked next to the actual other shopping center it is in. The interior is not super cute and nice as I picture any bakery to be, it looks a little worn. The staff there were friendly and I was happy with the service I got. My opinion is that if you have a dietary restriction this is a great place to come but otherwise it just wasn't my cup of tea since I've enjoyed baked goods from other places more than here. read more

A wonderful, local bakery that features an entirely gluten-free lineup of treats that are mostly vegan as well. Having never been here before, it was very nice that the staff took the time to show me everything they had, including what was vegan. Almost everything was vegan-friendly, except for a couple of items containing cheese. Being vegan, I don't often get to enjoy chocolatey baked goods, but their Choco-Holoc muffin was quite good. It was both flavorful and moist. My favorite treat was the Oatmeal Dream Pie. The oatmeal cookies were surprisingly good, very soft and chewy. The cream filling was nothing short of amazing. Other notes are that everything is soy-free and most (if not all?) of the ingredients they use are organic as well. I highly recommend The Wild Muffin and I'll definitely come back! read more

I've seen these treats at various coffee shops around the Metro Nashville area, and often ignored them. On the way to work, however, I happened to see this quant building holding the operations of The Wild Muffin. I was incredibly tired and short, but the owner treated me incredibly well. I settled for a fresh berry muffin and a trail mix one (for later). This muffin was divine. Gluten free. I didn't ask about specific ingredients, but the berries were so rich, and the bread tastes like the most perfect and soft cornbread. I will say that my trail mix muffin stuck to the paper a little bit, but it was a day old, and this is to be expected. It came from the discounted muffin shelf, so this makes sense. I hope to have the pleasure to come here again! I'm glad they focus on muffins and nothing else. Some drinks in there you can pick up, simple hot coffee you pair with your muffin. So much love for this place though. If you already pick these up from coffee stores, make the journey to their store at least once. read more

This sweet little gluten free bakery outpost near the Charlotte Pike exit off of i-40 has friendly staff and management and a variety of gluten free treats, including muffins, cupcakes and quick bread style loaves and slices. My favorite is hands down the plain brownie. Special orders can be placed for anything they usually make and/or whole pies and cakes. Also special orders can be made sugar free and it is virtually impossible to find a sugar free wheat free baked treats anywhere else in Nashville. You can find products around town... She had a busy day and was sold out of much of her goods. However, I did buy two blueberry muffins and 5 cupcakes. Sitting in the parking lot waiting to go in and see my naturopath and yes I ate one of the cupcakes and it was delightful! It was so nice to know with all of my allergies that I could be safe eating this cake and you typically expect it not to live up to a regular gluten/dairy cake but WOW was I wrong. This is my favorite bakery in Nashville. All of their food is delicious and is gluten free. Not only is the food delicious but the people that work there are the nicest people you'll ever meet. They truly care about what they are making and you can tell they put a lot of passion in to their work. My moms birthday was a couple of weeks ago and she is a regular customer there. So I went in and asked what they thought she would like, they gave me suggestions and helped me so much! They said the cake would be ready by noon on Saturday but I got an email saying it was ready early. Definitely check this place out if you are interested in a delicious treat! Being gluten-free sucks. *However* - sometimes you find a little hole-in-the-wall gem like the The Wild Muffin that makes life with celiac a little more bearable. Like everyone else has said, Antoinette is kind, knowledgeable (and arguably most importantly) a phenomenal baker! The apple cinnamon donut was my personal favorites, but her muffins are incredible. The only reason I give four, and not 5 stars is that there is no place to sit and enjoy your treats! It's to-go only. We arrived about 11 am and there were few things left but the owner was very nice and knowledgeable about not just allergies but how to bake and retain softness and moisture in her bakes. The Wild Muffin isn't as healthy as it once was. In 2012, the muffins had nuts, fruits, and high-protein, high-fiber ingredients. Now, more of the muffins and products are high-sugar, high-fat. Additionally, the price per muffin has increased from less than three dollars to almost five. The ingredients list include ingredients such as "low-fat honey," so the qualifier there indicates an assumption that consumers are uninformed about honey and other basic ingredients. I hope the Wild Muffin brings back some of its high quality products again, or renames itself to indicate that the whole business now has a different mission. There's nothing wrong with bakeries that sell unhealthy sweets - many exist and bring pleasure to all of us! But, the Wild Muffin advertises itself as having "healthy" ingredients and products, and this simply is not really accurate. read more

Everything about this tiny shoebox sized bakery is LOVELY. The woman who owns the place is fabulous and sweet. Would never guess her delicious bakery items were gluten free. After speaking with her she had told me she even makes sugar-less wedding cakes by request. Amazing! The muffins were between $2-$5 and they are dense and filling. I bought half a dozen for a guest who had a gluten intolerance and she was ecstatic about these muffins and also the cheesecake brownie! She had no tummy issues after consuming and to her surprise the muffins had no strange or dry texture that she usually expects from GF baked goods. Picked up the cake a few days later and it was beautifully decorated. The best part was the taste. It was probably the best chocolate cake I've ever eaten, including fully gluten, non-vegan cakes.
