This mall is close to my house and we go to it often not the weekends. Here is what I think about the mall and my experiences: The good: There are tons of stores with decent prices. Some of favorite stores are the body shop, Nike, old navy and gap. There is always some promotion running in them and I tend to get good deals 8 out of 10 times I am there. The mall also has a century theater that has some decent sized halls and reasonable prices. Tip: they have discounted movie prices on tuesdays. Also, you can pick up a bunch movie coupon tickets at Costco and use them here for any other day. They always run the latest movies, but tend to have a fair number of people because of their location. The parking lots are huge and because there are 5 gates with a side entrance at the theater, there are multiple places to park. The bad: Even though parking is huge, it does tend to get crowded during the weekends and thanksgiving holidays (till Christmas). You drive to the mall from montage or great mall parkway, but nowadays it gets a little crowded in both these places. I prefer the entrance from Main Street. The ugly: The food court. The court is becoming really shabby and there aren't any good options. Wish they would bring in some better options. Also the walkways are becoming more dirty as the days pass. Overall in an age of people shifting shopping trends to online stores, this is one gem in the Silicon Valley that is still an option for shoppers like me. read more

Parking is a bitch, unless you come early and don't even think about coming here on a weekend, because it's crazy! I don't come here too often, because I'm a shopaholic. There I said it, I admit it. I would recommend visiting this mall if your in the area. Very large selection of everything. Of course shopping for everyone. Lots of good food choices including Dave & Busters for fun & movies. One stop for a fun family night or shopping for holidays. You can for sure lose track of time. We visit annually when in California visiting family & taking a little vacation. I was kinda hard on the Great Mall (outlet mall) when I first moved here. As a matter of fact, I used to call it the 'Not-So-Great Mall' because it didn't have a few of the stores that I really like, such as Victoria's Secret and Bath and Body Works. Haha. I've had a change of heart though. Just because it's not much to look and doesn't have all the traditional stores doesn't mean it doesn't have a good variety of stores to choose from. You can get really great stuff for lower prices here. They have stores like Guess, Bebe, Calvin Klein, sports stuff, baby stuff, service stops, I could go on and on. I was just spoiled at first cause I'd moved from Vegas where they have amazing outlet shopping. The Great Mall also has a great food court! They have so many varieties of food to choose from. Indian, Japanese, Korean, American, Italian, etc... crazy! Other perks are the attached Dave and Busters and Cinema. I used to be able to find some bargains here in high school but my recent return was a huge disappointment. Not sure whether I just have higher standards now but this mall was depressing. The stores' inventory was very sad. The layouts of many stores (eg. h&m) were full of isles crammed together making browsing difficult. Other stores (Marshals) are so large that they are difficult to navigate... Stores like Banana Republic had very few items to select from and the prices were fairly standard. You are much better off shopping in any of the full-fledged stores and using one of their promotions and actually finding new pieces. All in all, I spent about 1.5 hours here before giving up and leaving empty handed. I don't think I'll return. read more

Yooooo let me just say. If I did not live like an hour away from this place I would be a hoarder. They have so many outlets ranging from: Puma, Nike, Addida, Micheal kohrs (spell error I know), banana republic and way more upscale businesses. The benefit is that the entire mall is like a discount outlet so expect to pay like 30-50% less. The mall can get super crowded so buckle ur children in strollers and perhaps pull out the cute leashes because u can loose them. All in all the mall is so worth the trip. This review is for brands, parking and restrooms: I have been going to Great Mall for 4 years now and time to share my thoughts. Parking: Good luck with that! It will always take more than 15 minutes to find a parking spot no matter what time you go during weekends. Restrooms: Don't even get me started on this. Worst restrooms with tons of dirt and unmaintained and have queues on weekends. I understand that it can be crowded during holidays season but who will provide the facilities. I see new stores added to Great Mall but don't see new restrooms added accordingly. I would give NO stars for restroom hygiene. Brands: Lot of brands available like Hollister, Levis, Old Navy, Gap, Koh's etc. Most of them are factory outlets offering reasonable prices but reduced and outdated selected. Go to Valley Fair mall or Oakridge mall if you wanna pay more and picky about clothing. I haven't been to this mall in years and it seems like the selection of stores has gotten a lot better since the last time I visited. Normally, I just head to D&B for some adult/kid fun. I stopped in here on a whim with my sis and my mom and I was quite surprised at how much this place has changed. If you're looking for shoes, this is definitely a good place to go because I spotted a ton of different shoe stores including a Converse store, Clarks (my favourite), Foot Locker, etc. There's a mish mash of Factory Outlet stores and regular run-of-the-mill stores but if you don't plan on shopping anywhere else, you might just get everything you need here. It's probably a much more enjoyable shopping experience when you go during an off peak time. This mall isn't that great but it's better than it was before. read more

It was a real shit hole back in the day and they've definitely upgraded and have done a great job at extending. too bad they didnt by making it two floors. I remember walking around with my momma when I was little visiting little angel and sanrio. Then in my teen years coming for some window shopping and dates at the movies.Only till a year ago I had went to the golf course. It was super fun. Every time I come here I mentally prepare for a frustrating experience. Parking makes you feel like you are at Disneyland except once you get inside you have the same crowds but much less fun. There are some good stores here and there are deals to be had. The big bummer is it can get hot in here. A lot of stores don't run the AC. It kinda makes the bargain hunting challenging but I make the best of it. I have found great stuff at Gap, Joe's Jeans, Off Saks Fifth, Banana Republic and Jcrew. Like any outlet mall, it can be hit or miss. Sometimes I walk away with one or two things, other times I have bags full of goodies. There is a variety of stores and they also have several chain restaurants and an AMC movie theater so this can be a half day sort of thing. They also have a food court with mostly non chain options. Nothing great but if you are hungry you have choices. Best bet is to look at the map and plan where you want to go to minimize walking through the entire place. There are one or two sections that I usually skip completely. read more

I have long loved the Great Mall. I went when they first opened and there were a sprinkling of stores with alot of dead space. That was years ago and I am happy it has been thriving ever since. I bop back and forth from this location to the Livermore one. I love them both but this one has a kitchen store that Livermore does not have. I visited the Great Mall 2 weeks ago and was thrilled to see it back open. Spent some quality shopping time and felt almost "normal". Everyone was wearing masks and behaving. The food court was open but for take out only. Still saw some lines for the food so that was good for the vendors. All stores were practicing social distancing and limiting visitors. I can live with that easily. Unfortunately the CA Govenor shut the mall down this past week along with other inside venues. BOO! Everyone was being so responsible. I was able to shop at the stores that have outside entrances. Warning! Burlington appears to be closing its doors for good. The store was more than 1/2 empty of product with nothing new being put out. Most of the closes for women was all gone. They are also closing the new Burlington in Union City. Marshalls and Neiman Marcus were open and seem to be staying. read more

It's a mall that is located minutes away from my residence. Do I need a cheap top sometimes? Oh yeah. How about a skirt? A dress? A cardigan? Shoes? Sandals? Boots? I actually have bought numerous of items at various stores inside Great Mall. What can I say? What do I have to complain about? Nothing, really besides the parking and the crowds (most of the time). Outlet stores.. brand name clothing for less. In this economy where money and jobs are scarce.. you better believe I shop here more frequently than other malls say, "Valley Fair" simply because of the prices. I bravely ventured to this very mall during Black Friday. All I could say is go early because it makes a world of difference. When my brother & I left 2h later, there was barely any parking, lots of traffic & people shoulder to shoulder. I was able to make it out of there unscathed, hauling the kitchen appliances I needed to get at Kohl's. BEST $130 spent thus far. I was able to buy 2 4qt crock pots, a Bella rotating waffle maker & 2 Presto cool touch griddles (each $40 retail price). Not to mention, they each had a $12 mail-in rebate. Thankfully, I had my brother there with me (God Bless his soul). We each grabbed 3 items as soon as the metal gates separating us from the deals most of us sought after rose up. Because we were one of the first people to get there, we quickly made it to the register with all our items before anyone got there, being one of the first to check out. I think that if you know what you want & get there early enough, Black Friday anywhere isn't so bad & isn't nearly as crazy as most people describe. Yes, there was a long line going into the mall, but we went through it quickly with crowds of people dispersing into the 50+ stores the mall had. I don't know why I didn't review this place a long time ago but better now than never. I've seen this place open from the very beginning and saw the transformations it went through to what it is today. I believe this mall used to be a Ford factory which was why it was big and had steel beams inside. There used to be a huge arcade area that no longer existed here. Those were the days... Anyways, fast forward to the present and the mall changed a lot. It had wooden floors in areas which changed the appearance to be more classy if you will. There were numbers to differentiate between parts of the mall which was good if you're trying to meet with someone. It used to have a transportation theme like there would be one part of the mall with an airplane or a car or a train and the food court was called the Great Eats Court. Now those were all replaced with numbers. The Great Mall had a lot of stores and mostly outlet stores. I did see stores like Express appearing so it seemed like the mall is slowly converting to a more classy mall but nothing like Valley Fair or Oakridge for example. Those might not be good examples but that was what came to mind of close malls. Good place to shop but parking is usually terrible. Carpool if you can! read more

Is the Great Mall really that great? Not compared to other malls like Valley Fair & Santana Row! The mall is a big circle, with 5 "neighborhoods." They have many stores including Forever 21, Victoria's Secret, Michael Kors, Uniqlo, Spenser's, Guess [outlet] Coach [outlet], Saks Fifth Ave [outlet], Neiman Marcus' Last Call [outlet] -- you get the picture, it's basically an outlet mall. Sadly, outlet stores don't normally have as good as a quality as their superior stores [the non-outlet ones]. It takes about 2-3 hours to walk around, depending if you look inside stores. The food court is located in neighborhood 4 and I don't think it's great; there is Hot Dog on a Stick, Cinnabon, McDonalds, some random Asian-American food, and some others. They also have places like Auntie Annes, Wretzel Pretzel, Mrs. Field's Cookies scattered throughout the mall. One thing I love is, they have a Dave and Busters too! I would have given this place at least 3 stars based on my previous visits to the Great Mall (2-3 times??), but the last time I visited back in July, they took down their paper directory and said that customers would need to use their phone app...what?! That is total discrimination...yes, people, I understand it's partly my fault that I have yet to convert to a smartphone (because of my current contract and ineligibility to upgrade), but seriously, how do you expect people who can't access the phone app to get around the mall?! I couldn't even find the bathroom, for heaven's sake, and I kept getting half-ass directions from people until I finally found them on my own...*sigh* BTW, my boyfriend was with me at the time and he already had the Simons app on his phone, but it contains NO map whatsoever so he couldn't even tell me where the bathroom is! My favorite mall ever. Why? Because they have a ton of stores with great deals and I never leave empty handed. I don't go to Eastridge or Valleyfair as much because they don't have that great of a sale compared to Great Mall. This mall is opening up more and more stores that I like. Last year they opened an Express (still kinda expensive though but still sometimes you can find a good steal), Armani Exchange, and many more. They even brought back Daiso yay! We love coming here at least once a week. When I was pregnant we came here everyday for my walks. It gets crowded though. There is parking at the perimeter of the mall which you can imagine is A LOT of parking spots, but there are those days where you can't find ANY parking and gotta circle around. The holidays are the worse! Thanksgiving and Christmas...pretty much all of November and December....good luck finding parking! I was really happy some stores had their Black Friday sale EARLY so we were able to avoid the madness. I HATE THEIR BATHROOMS. It's small, crowded, old, stinks and always a LONG ASS LINES cuz the mall can find thousands of people but there's only 3 toilet stalls and 4 bathroom. I am hoping they renovate it one day and keep up with modern technology and make it nice. There's places to eat here but I think I am bored of them all since we go here a lot. We usually go to Sarabol, Charlie's (esp their lemonade), Chipotle, Hot Dog On A Stick for their lemonade, Jollibee, etc. We usually go to the theaters here too. We usually take a stroll around the mall and then watch a movie. They have Outback and Olive Garden here too. DnB also. I hella forgot that they are an outlet mall therefore you can get a lot of goodies on sale and for cheap. I don't know if its B-grade quality though. They got Couch and MK. They even have Marshalls, Burlington and Bed Bath and Beyond. They even have salons inside. Here you can shop, eat, watch movies, play games, get your hair and nails done, get massages, etc. They literally have EVERYTHING. This place is definitely your one stop shop. We come here every week and never get sick of it because there are always things to do and good deals. My favorite stores are Cotton On and Carter's. read more

This mall seriously needs more parking spaces. Every time I come here there are no parking spaces and I have to park far. Not safe for a woman to walk far with lots of merchandise. I used to go to this mall but due to its crowding, I have avoided this mall for quite some time and finally returned after a year. The mall is still the same but with new stores and more brand names. The inside of the mall is still really packed as well. Don't come here on a weekend if you want to avoid it being pack and come on a weekday instead. The mall should be a little emptier than usual. If you're thinking about getting tested for Covid19 at the Test Before You Go testing site at Great Mall, THINK AGAIN. They will allow you to book an appointment (after you pay them of course) and then when you show up, they tell you "we ran out of testing kits." Total waste of money AND time. Then they give you the runaround when it comes to giving you a refund. They keep telling you their manager is in a meeting. Dang, poor manager must be busy every single minute! So on my arriving into this Great Mall there were a lot of people that did not have mask on employees and it is mandated to have masks and door is I don't see why this is not being enforced also the bathrooms women's in particular or horrible they're filthy they're not being cleaned as they should be I came as soon as they open and the bathroom had urine on the floor and clogged up which feces all in the toilet and I even seen a few roaches in the bathroom by the food courts.. I left after using the bathroom and see they are not following the mandate...I should report them. read more

Surprising I haven't reviewed this mall yet considering that I've been on a bit of a mall review spree. Been coming here since I was a kid and the mall hasn't changed much, which isn't really a negative critique. Sure, they don't have the high end stores that Santana Row and Stanford Shopping Center do, but that just means they know their clientele. Parking on weekends is not as bad as other malls (I'm looking at you, Stanford Shopping Center) but it is definitely still packed. The mall itself goes around in a circle (with a shortcut through Uniqlo) but that just means you're forced to exercise to leave :D. The latest food rage here is the fruit with chile powder and lime. They also have Dippin Dots (90s throwback!). The Forever 21 here has great sales at the end of the summer (discounted items-- buy 1 get 1-- I got a couple of $3.50 work dresses here!). I wish they had a boba shop here, but I guess you're in Milpitas and there are a bunch around within 5 minutes. read more

Outlet stores...indoors? Ummm, HELL to the yeah! For a prissy chick...like mouaaa, I don't like shopping outside when its extremely windy, or chilly or sticky hot. No messing up the hurrrrr and the makeup por favor. I'm not a fan of the location of this mall but the stores inside are pretty enticing for a clearance shopper like me. Stores I hit up are the Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, Charlotte Russe...just to a name a few. You do find teeny bopper kids here, but as long as you have selective seeing and hearing you'll be A-OK, like me. Big ups to the only indoor outlet mall I've ever been to. read more

This is a decent Mills mall in Milpitas. Mills malls are all the same - they are one story, huge, and have an interesting mixture of big name brand stores and janky no-name stores interspersed within the big brand name stores. The mall layout is basically you have to walk around in a gigantic circle in order to get anywhere. Since the stores here are outlet stores, you get cheaper prices which is great. Be advised that a lot of these outlet stores actually are a separate line from the parent full-price store. For example, Banana Republic and J. Crew factory stores have clothing that you actually won't find at the full price retail store. I find that a lot of these factory stores have lower quality items but the prices are generally lower to compensate. The good outlet stores here that I like: -Off Saks 5th Avenue -Armani Exchange -Hollister (don't laugh but their clothing is pretty cheap here) -Daiso (not an outlet but their stuff is so cheap) The food court is kind of a trap. I would not come here expecting good mall food. read more

I had two visits in two days and it seems as though the mall was much greater than I imagined. Yes, in fact, it is Great Mall, which seems rather a tacky name. There seems to be just enough parking, especially considering that they have a Dave & Busters (Chuck E. Cheese's for adults), including the mini parking garage. The mall seems to be divided into 5 zones, reminiscent of the Mills outlet malls, such as Franklin Mills mall in Philadelphia. This is somewhat helpful in locating your entrance and your vehicle, as well as your favorite stores. They had a wide variety of stores from Bed, Bath, and Beyond to Zumiez and Oakley Vault. It seemed that more of the stores were not of the outlet variety than were. Oh, well. read more

This mall has really improved in terms of variety of stores. There are stores like Neiman Marcus Last Call/ Saks Off fifth , Nike, Columbia, Old Navy, Uniqlo, smaller Mom and pop stores and everything in between. I noticed that there are more seating areas and more benches along the walkway. The food court is revamped and there are other restaurants like Chipotle, Starbucks, Auntie Annie's and Jollibee around the mall also. One weekends it does get crowded! Other than going to other shopping malls like the Westfield,Stonestown, Serramonte,Tanforan,Hillsdale but nothing is like the Great Mall of Milpitas it has been a very long long time since, I havent gone back to this huge shopping mall... Until on a sunday finally I had a chance to go back to this huge size shopping mall before Labor Day ... There was one store in which, I have not seen in a very long time like the Sweet Factory in which Stonestown and other shopping malls use to have many many years ago not any more... The only place where I shopped and bought something for myself which was at the H&M bought myself a medium sized teal color polo shirt for a price of $9.95 where some stores dont have it for that price!!! H & M was really crowded on a sunday afternoon and I didnt have to worry about the long line of customers the lines went really fast due to the many H & M cashier people that they had working at registers... Great Mall - Shopping Centers Near Me - Milpitas, California

When people think of Milpitas (if they happen to know what and where Milpitas is), they think of the Great Mall. I think it's one of the largest outlet malls in California, which makes it pretty big. I've walked around the whole thing and it takes about 15-20 minutes of brisk, power-walking. I love shopping at outlet malls because I am a serious bargain shopper. Plus I could care less if my clothes are one stitch off from the standard. The Great Mall has been remodeled and renovated in the last few years, so it looks a lot nicer than it used to. But the shoppers aren't always so nice...Clothes get tossed around like crazy and people can be pushy at times. The best parts/stores at the Great Mall are: -Century Theaters -H&M! -Banana Republic -Gap -Coldstone's -Auntie Anne's Pretzels -Forever 21 -various discount shoe stores The Great Mall is no match for Valley Fair, but it works for my shopping needs. read more

Shopping and holiday sales. This mall/outlet mall has a ton of parking on regular days, but if you go on the holidays, it's incredibly packed. Thankfully, the parking lot is huge and goes all around the mall. Good variety of shops ranging from shoes like off broadway shoes, to dresses like group USA, to clothing like Abercrombie, banana republic, express, to big stores like kohls, Marshalls, Burlington coat factory, and a lot of outlet stores selling things for cheaper such as American eagle, coach, Nike, and hollister. The outlet shops especially have a ton of sales ontop of sales so you get a lot of good deals on clothing and other items. The Coach outlet is exceptional because they always give you a coupon prior to coming in and it's usually a big chunk taken off the price. The mall is sectioned off into neighborhoods and is designed as a big loop track. Basically you can walk the whole mall in a circle, but there is an alley in the middle that takes you from one half of the mall to the other. Places inside the mall to eat include, but are not limited to: kettlepop, wetzels pretzels, auntie Anne's, dreyers ice cream, nestle toll house, mrs. Fields cookies, dippin dots, and a large food court. Also located in/by the mall is chipotle and Olive Garden and mayflower dim sum restaurant. A few more popular stores include victoria secret, forever 21, vans, daiso, and the arcade Dave and busters. There is also a movie theatre located in the mall. All around, it's a mall that has almost everything. Good place to go. read more

For being named "Great" mall, it's actually just okay. Now if you were trying to walk laps, then Great Mall is great for that. But anyways perk is that it has a lot of outlet stores and a variety of in general. However, I've had many experiences where it's very crowded and makes me just want to head home (especially on holidays and weekends)... Like damn, people don't watch where they're going and there's sooo many people walking sooo slow (or am I just a hater?). Anyways, I guess it's a decent place to kill time at but if you're looking for something in particular, not sure how successful you will be. Parking is also a hit or miss, so be prepared to park far or wait for someone to leave on weekends or holidays. Yay! I am indeed a fan. Visited this mall around 4 PM in the afternoon on a random Wednesday because we had guests over. The stores that I visited includes the Old Navy outlet and the Gap outlet. As usual - the Gap outlet had lots of sales. I ended up getting a baby dress for my niece and a black cardigan for myself. Love this mall - it's good for exercising and shopping too. read more

I don't think most stores in the mall are taking health department regulations seriously. For pandemic purposes there should be a limited customer occupancy for the square footage of a store. Clearly the stores' management aren't making sure that social distancing is being observed. They're more interested in sales than public/employee safety. read more

We started out late, this afternoon searching for dress shoes for my husband. We had an outstanding shopping experience at Men's District! My husband needs comfort because he is a USPS worker always on his feet 6 days a week. Because of the outstanding customer service "King" and his associate "Jay" my husband was able to find the perfect shoes and matching belt. They both ask about the event or special occasion we had plans for and were so detailed in finding the right fit! My husband also purchased ties because the store was so organized and neat and clean. We could not help but shop! We will definitely we be back to the Great Mall to visit Men's District. read more

I dunno why average 3 stars for this mall, I love it here!! Especially with the convenient entryway to D & B and outdoor patio to the Movie Theaters!??! Come on peeps!!! And like Hella, I mean HELLA CUTIES.. mostly asians like totally OMG! Anywhozzle, me and my patna go here to this mall every other weekend. I just love blowing money at the Marshalls and the Burlington Coat Factory stores in that mall on Affliction ShirtS!! Shit I got 9 of them!! The food court is IIIIIIIIte I mean their Genghiss Khan, not to brag but it could better like an authentic one. But hey its a fast food court. Whats cool is each entry way has an automated voice thingy letting you know what part of the mall and what parking lot to go by, so you don't forget but ehhhh people will forget. When I think of "ghetto" I think of tthings like rummaged, broke down....you get the drift. Uhh...not exactly what this mall is (if you go by that). What it really is, is a mall that's extremely busy, hard to find parking, but has some good stores. I'm not originally from the Bay area so I don't have a sense of what this mall used to be, but for what it offers, it offers a lot. There are a few "outlet" stores here, like Banana Republic and Gap Outlet and other decent stores like H&M and the like...yea there are some "unsavory" people here and some really broke down stores, but who goes to EVERY store at the mall? I love going to this mall because it has tons of stores. They have high end stores (coach/off 5th/victoria's secret etc) and discounts shops (marshalls/kohls etc). The stores are usually well stocked with great sales but the only drawback is the HUGE crowd! I went on a Saturday night and it was so packed, we could barely walk. I highly recommend coming on a weekday or weeknight if possible. Parking can be difficult too. It's a large lot but prepare to park far away. Overall, this mall is worth visiting, but prepare to have company. Food: Make sure you visit Andersen Bakery and the Mediterranean place at the food court. Both delicious! read more
