I arrived and was greeted by an older gentleman who asked what services I would like. I requested a Fill-In and a Pedicure. Then, Billy, came over to escort me to my seat. All appeared to be going well but I noticed that Billy's drilling technique was very inconsistent. Needless to say, he eventually nipped my cuticles and cut deeply into my nail bed. However, he apologized and kept working on my left hand. When he transitioned to my right hand, I noticed my left thumb was still burning. I looked closely and saw how deep into my nail bed he had drilled. I expressed my concerns about infections and he put a few drops of sytpic and some other liquid on it which made it burn intensely for some time while he worked on the other hand. Needless to say, I am going to the doctor to see how to remove the nail and avoid infection. There did not appear to be any sanitary practices in place by the nail tech. I had to argue with him to get IDP gel top coat instead of the OPI gel top coat. I should not have let him continue with the damage which is still burning the following day. I do not recommend the tech or salon by far. read more

My first time here.. And Last.. Worst pedicure ever lady was nice older I was very very rushed very poor job with clipping bad enough I went home and filed them down myself. The paint job was hideous and she was very rough and kept pushing her spa package. The regular pedicure at $23 overpriced for what I got as it was then she tried to push nail design I had agreed to get a manicure as well but after I saw a rushed job she did with the pedicure not to mention the not so clean facilities I literally said no thank you got up from the manager stand and walked out I did tip her five dollars and I did not complain but I will definitely never be back. read more

Stopped in today to get my eye brows done. I was nervous considering I typically only get them done at two shops. I must say I'm happy with my eye brows and I will be back. Amy is good and Helen is okay. But in my experience some of the others didn't speak to me but instead spoke to each other. Not too mention my last pedicure was rushed and polish is chipping less than a week later. I will not be going back. If it weren't for the two techs I mentioned I would have given one star. read more

Had a wonderful experience there at this Nail Salon . The woman there did a fantastic job . The design was beautiful . The lady was nice . She wasn't very talkative but she was professional . The only thing I didn't like was they talked back and forth . Other than that it's great . Great nails did an awesome job . Not much of a total spa experience but the work made up for it . I am a customer that has been patronizing this establishment for over five years. Over the years the service has gotten worse each time I've gone. Today's service was by far the absolute worst and the customer service was horrible! I went here Wednesday for a pedicure ended up getting some waxing done. Service was good. I went in midday so not many people there So I got plenty of attention. Pedicure was good I went with the $45 one just to pamper my self. The message part wasent that great but the color and hot stone was nice. Waxing was great I love the eyebrow job I got. HORRIBLE!!! I requested a powder-dip manicure. I believe I got a trainee given the poor outcome and lack of customer service. During the process, I pointed out (five times!!) that one of the nails was slanted to the right and much longer than the other nails. My insistence was met with comments that "I'll get it," "it's fine," and the killer, "your finger is crocked!" How rude! One nail is longer than the other nine, the surfaces are lumpy, and some edges are rounded while others are pointy. This was the worst manicure I have ever gotten!! read more

Great prices but this salon is VERY dirty and they do not follow code. I've had to ask the technicians for tools that were sterilized every time I go here. They pull clippers and cutters out of their drawers -- wiping off gunk from a previous client! For a pedicure, the tools are sitting in the technician's basket, not taken from a package or solution. I have spoken to the owner about this and he insists that they are sterilized. They are not! I cringe when I see others getting pedicures with dirty tools. Everything is dirty -- technician tools, table tops, floor, bottle/lotion tops. Instead of sitting around watching a movie on your ipad or phone, please, pick up some disinfectant and clean your area! Sterilize your tools! In this day of HIV and other blood borne diseases, please, please, please listen to your customers. read more

My Mother and I have been going to Great Nails for years. They are very clean, they only use tools that have been sterilized, they open them out of the little medical bags. They will also take the time to make sure you are completely satisfied with your services and will re-do something if you do not like it. Very good customer service. Not the LOWEST prices ever, but competitive. It's worth it for auto-claved tools. read more

I had Jenny do my nails and she was brilliant. She spoke to me but did not try to force a conversation. l got tips and my eyebrows waxed . The waxing wasnt painful and she was quick and they came out amazing . The total was only $38 and well worth the service that I got . I am definitely coming back . read more

I've only been here twice, but my God its amazing for the price! The first time I went, I was incredibly wary. I'm not used to nail salons like this - and I'm not trying to brag, but I am used to the likes of Star Nails in Crofton, and Luxury Nails in Crofton. The two BEST nail places in the area in my opinion! But I came for the special pedicure which consists of a scrub, oil with hot stone massage, paraffin wax AND hot towels only for $35!!! Can you say deal? They DO NOT disappoint, and the pedicure chair also doubles as a massage chair which is lovely. This is not your run of the mill strip mall nail care place, they take their time and will not rush you. Which was pretty awesome considering I came there twenty minutes before closing time! Anyway, I came here yesterday, got the same thing, and it did not disappoint as was last time. My younger sister got a mani/pedi. My Mother got a mani and her eyebrows waxed (which looked SO GOOD by the way!). All in all, amazing experience, last time my pedicure lasted three weeks. The only downside I would say this place has, is that when they do the hot towel thing, they slap your calves (which wasn't really a downside for me, my legs can use all the circulation they need xD) which could probably be an issue for some. But you won't be disappointed here seriously, your nails will look fabulous at the end! Quality is DEFINITELY their thing! read more

Today, August 21, 2015, I went to Great Nails in Bowie, Md with my husband for a couples Mani/Pedi. I was disrespected by a lady who did my mani/pedi, when she polished my nails my left thumb had a little black spot in the polish so I asked her to fix it. She put a third coat over it and I told her I can still see the spot. She told me she did not see it and called a man over that was probably the owner, I pointed it out and he said he see it and said something in their language. I said to her he sees it and she went I don't see it and she said to me that he told her redo and get rid of the customer and went on to say you people look too close and nobody else will see it. I raised my voice and was fussing, don't ever talk to me in that way and other words (no curse words). I was so pissed that a worker can speak to a paying customer in this way. I felt like asking for the five dollars tip back, I will never pay a tip up front again. My husband paid for both of our services and he will not go back. I missed getting the nail technicians name, she never told me when she began my pedicure. Total disrespect, I have been a few times and this is the first time a bad experience with a nail tech. She is bad for business. I will never go back. This place was recommended to me months ago by my sister-in-law which she has been going elsewhere since July. All that should have been done was redo the thumb when the customer tells you there is a spot, it takes less than a minute to remove polish and redo from the beginning. This is my first yelp review and my mom's experience influenced it.So it's going to be lengthy. I came here with my mom to treat her to some special birthday nails. She opted for a Mani- Pedi. And for her manicure she was going to get a gel full set with crystals. It was the lady that owns the place that started on her manicure. My mom had to instruct her step by step on how she wanted her nails done. Unfortunately, while she was filing the false nails she hit her skin with the filing tool at least three times. And each time she bruised her skin my mom would speak up and tell her that it hurts. But, the owner would brush her comments off by saying it's an accident. It doesn't cost anyone anything to say "sorry I'm causing you pain I will try to be gentler". The rough handling of her nails and absence of an apology prompted my mom to get up since she felt she was being treated unfairly. Bystanders tried to diffuse the situation. And one of the gentlemen offered to finish her nails. The interesting thing is that he was being more gentle than the previous person. It's truly disappointing because I used to come here from time to time, it's the main reason why I brought my mom in the first place. They did ask if I wanted gel or eyebrows done or a pedicure which is no different than any other business trying to sell more. I was reluctant to go because of the bad reviews, but I went anyway, just to give it a shot. I wish I had not wasted my money and time. I selected the special spa pedicure for $35. It was really busy and the only person available was this older, Asian lady. The older lady, she told me her name was "Lucky", was extremely nice, did not rush me, but she lacked some serious skills. The polish on my toes are clumpy, thick, and streaked. They look horrendous. The toe nails she did clip down are crooked. I will not be going there again. I feel bad giving this lady these reviews, because she was so nice and friendly. I also liked that they didn't all rudely talk in their native language to each other. It was extremely professional. However, the skill level just was not there. I still gave her a $5 tip. read more

DO NOT GET YOUR NAILS DONE HERE. I went in for the first time to go get my nails done at this location. I typically get gel but with money getting tight, getting gel just wasn't worth it. I told the lady multiple times I did NOT want the gel. I even went and picked out normal nail polish. She had a really bad accent so of course it's always hard to understand people with poor English. She started to put this weird stuff on top of my basic nail polish but of course I just let her do her thing. Next thing I know, I go up to pay and my total was $25 not $18, which is the typical price at their location for a fill, when I asked why it was so much they said because I had gel. When I argued how I told her I didn't want gel, they argued with me and yelled at me saying how I was wrong and had to pay the $25. When I refused to pay the $25 they continued to yell at me. I am an honest person and would never try to steal from a company so being accused of such really made me angry. Long story short after arguing for 15 minutes, I paid the $18 for the okay looking nails. I am not returning ever again. read more
