    French Tip regular polish
    Alise G.

I frequent Modern Nail Lounge & Spa, every three weeks with my mother. I usually come in for a pedicure and gel manicure. Your nail experience depends on the nail technician, I highly suggest Tiffany or Chan. I typically spend about $75.00 for this service. The place is pretty clean, you are required to wear a mask to enter. They have plastic shields set up between you and the nail technician and each nail station is about six feet apart. As far as the nail color options, they typically use DND as their official nail polish brand. One reason I really like this brand is the option of getting a color you like in regular or gel finish. My favorite colors include Bellet Slipper (496), Summer Sun (506), Lilac Season (493), French Tip (473) and Pixie (727). They just brought in a few new colors from their 2021 spring collection, I can't wait to try Carmel Corn (744), Honey (745) and Ginger (714). I highly recommend getting your nails done here, the staff are professional, friendly and attentive.

Firstly I had a pretty great pedicure from a tall woman with short hair. However, this is the second time I got an older woman with long black hair for my nails. And I gotta say...she's just not very good. Like at all. She doesn't really listen to what you want. But also, I don't know maybe she just can't see well....but I had acrylic ALL over my fingers, cuticles, the sides of the nails. And it wasn't cleaned up well during the filing process....ar one point I took the nail file myself to fix it because she just couldn't see what I was talking about. And they look like I've already had them for a week. I tend to like this place but will have to be sure to specifically ask for someone else. It's too expensive these days to not get good nails.

I absolutely love Anna she does an amazing job. I have been going to her for 3 years and i love her.

Chunky, took 2 hours, had 3 nail techs, have dip all over my skin, honestly wish I asked for a discount after this

Very nice people and nice salon, but terrible job. Clumpy and messy around the edges. Also used a gel light in between coats for a dip manicure? which I've never seen before. I could see polish all around my fingers under the black light. I had to ask to clean up the skin around, which is basic in any manicure. Pedicure wasn't much better. Didn't push back cuticles, clean up the edges or even buff the nails. On top of it, dip + gel pedicure was $120. Only giving a 2 because the place is nice and the tech was very sweet, but look elsewhere. My friend asked me if I did my nails myself...

Omg this was exactly what I needed! This place is not only sanitary (they use brand new covers for the pedicure tubs for each customer) but the customer service and treatment is phenomenal. Brian was my technician gave an amazing lengthy massage. I got the $65 pedicure which comes with not only your standard pedi stuff but paraffin and longer massage AND heated neck pillow followed by a shoulder neck massage while I was waiting for my toes to dry. Additionally they offer complimentary beverages such as wine and champagne. Excellent service for the price! I will be returning. If you want a good deep massage during your pedicure with excellent service ask for Brian. I can't speak for any other technicians as it is my first Time here.

I just began going to this salon when my nail tech, Chan Tong, moved here. Where he goes I go. Seriously, I'd follow him anywhere. He is that amazing at what he does and so is his cousin, Elvis. I get SNS done regularly and it always looks AMAZING. My nails never chip, I've never had any breaks, and I ALWAYS get compliments. Plus they're both hilarious and put a smile on your face while you relax and treat yourself. Modern Nail has definitely added two beyond excellent members of the team to their salon!

    Simple pink polish job.

So far so good. They just recently opened up and the place was very cute, clean and of course modern. They have a whole wall of colors which I loved because hello I love options even if I do choose the same three shades of pink every time! They did try to strong arm me into getting gel but I kindly declined. Same with a pedicure but that's expected. I walked in without an appointment and just asked for polish. They had me pick out my color and sat me next to the only other person in the whole place which was kind of awkward. But the nail techs wanted to be close so they could talk to each other I guess ? Anyways what threw me off the most was that the nail tech did two coats and maybe lost count on the other hand which she did three coats on. I could tell the difference because I'm knit picky like that, and asked her if she could do another coat. It was a very light pink so you could notice one was darker. She thought I was crazy but of course did it anyway. The final product was a little messy but I was just glad they came out better than I do them myself and it was only $9. The receptionist checked me out when I finally thought my nails were dry. (My nail tech had already taken another client at that point and left me to dry). I'll be back to see if their pedicures are worth it and review once more!

They are always empty for a reason. You can't relax here, no customer service and they slop over you.

This will definitely be my salon while living in Md. Kim did my nails; she was patient, thorough, & gentle. I also had my eyebrows waxed, but cannot recall the name of the young lady who did that. I felt so welcomed from the moment I walked in until the moment I left!! They had low music playing and dimmed the lights. I loved the vibe!!!

I was a customer for about 5 months. No problem with dip powder until I decided to try the gel set…read morecalled "Tiana Collection" As Ken started the set, I noticed a burning sensation after the 2nd nail was done. I let him know it was burning and suggested he lower the UV light that he used to set the gel. He mentioned that the light only had 1 setting and that he couldn't change it. As he continued, I suggested to move the heated UV lamp further away from my nail bed as the temperature and position he had it in was burning my nail bed. I mentioned this as a reminder several times. When I got home that evening, I had to take Tylenol and add ice to my nails to sooth the burning sensation. At this point, I was concerned because the burning radiated from my fingers up my arms. Went the at shop opened, I contacted Ken to let him know what happened. He had me come in to remove the gel. I also asked for compensation, at least a percentage of my money back or have him do dip set later. Jennifer told me they took the gel set off, and took time doing my nails, so there was no compensation or refund of any kind. I suggested to file an insurance claim as this was an injury due to a product they provided. She told me insurance will not pay for it and she didn't see whether I deserved a refund. I have never experienced this sort of hospitality or service at any nail salon. I came here as a referral from a coworker. While still getting familiar with this area, I thought this place would offer great service. If you are thinking of getting nails done at here, be aware because it's not about customer service it's more about money for them. I always wondered why fee for services changed often when I got the same thing each time. Hidden fees no consideration for how they treat their customers. Deluxe pedi and gel with 2 horrible nail designs totaled - $145 and still burning from lamp. Go someplace else. UPDATE: Several hours later, Jennifer, the owner, left me a voicemail asking me to call her back. I returned the call believing she might offer an apology, discount, or some form of resolution. Instead, the conversation focused on my review and why I had posted it. She reiterated that because I chose the service, I was not entitled to any compensation. When I suggested continuing the discussion after she finished with her customer, she declined and continued explaining why she would not provide a refund, discount, or credit. This entire experience was disappointing. Mistakes and adverse reactions can happen, but what stood out to me was being told, "I'm not going to argue with you," when I was simply expressing surprise and concern about what had happened. I was not arguing at all, and the comment felt dismissive. I was left wondering whether I was being treated differently, possibly because I am an African American woman. Regardless of the reason, I did not feel heard or respected during the conversation. Reactions can happen, but how a business responds to a customer who has been injured or harmed by a service says a lot about its values. Unfortunately, I felt dismissed, blamed, and left without any Potential customers should be aware of my experience and make their own informed decision. Wow

This review is long overdue!…read more Glow Nail Bar has been my favorite nail salon for years. Chan and Elvis, the owners, have created something special. They always make me feel like family in the best way, and every visit is welcoming, professional, and consistent. I typically book appointments in advance because they are almost always busy, which speaks to how much people love this salon. The entire place is very well run, and you can clearly see the value they place on customer service, quality, and the overall experience. You truly can't go wrong with any of the nail technicians. Most recently, I had a pedicure with Timmy, and he was outstanding. His massage, scrub, and lotion treatment were so relaxing. He took his time, paid attention to every detail, and made the experience feel like a true self-care moment. My usual service is Gel-X with gel polish, along with a pedicure w/callus treatment and scrub. The quality is always excellent, and I consistently leave happy with my nails and feeling refreshed. If you're looking for a salon that delivers great service, talented technicians, and a welcoming atmosphere, Glow Nail Bar is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

To start on a positive note, Jade did a fantastic job on my pedicure and she truly does great nail art. My toes looked amazing. However, I had ongoing issues with my gel manicure. I got my nails done on a Wednesday night, and later that same night the polish started chipping. I initially assumed it was my fault, possibly from prepping dinner. I called the next morning and scheduled an appointment to have them fixed. I went back on Thursday, paid to have them redone, and tipped again -- no problem, because I believed I had caused the issue. Unfortunately, by Friday night, the polish began chipping again and completely popped off several nails. I hadn't done anything strenuous with my hands. I called Saturday morning, and the front desk receptionist informed me that several other customers who chose black had been experiencing the same issue. He advised that I would need to speak directly with Jade to schedule a fix. When Jade returned my call, she repeatedly told me she "couldn't put black polish on my fingers," but never initially mentioned that there had been known issues with the black polish. I only learned that after speaking with the receptionist. She offered me a discount to fix them, but I had already paid twice -- and tipped twice -- under the impression that the problem was something I had done. At that point, I didn't feel I should have to pay again for an issue that clearly wasn't my fault. When I returned to the salon, Jade's attitude felt cold and unapologetic. There was no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, despite the fact that I live 30 minutes away and had already made two extra trips back. I only needed six nails fixed, and it didn't feel like my situation was treated as a priority. In the end, she did fix them without charging me -- which I appreciated, because I would not have paid again. But overall, I left disappointed. If the issue with the black polish had been communicated honestly from the beginning, this entire situation could have been handled very differently. Accountability and customer care matter, and unfortunately, this experience fell short
