Love this location! There's other ice rinks in the Orange County area, but by far definitely recommend this location to be. It has 4 rinks, nice and clean lockers, shop, and a nice food and beverage counter. Great to come for public skating, skate or play hockey. Have a variety of classes for everyone. My son is here for his hockey practice 2xs out of the week. It's spacious and has plenty of parking for everyone. They have a nice food and beverage counter with a variety of selections to choose from. Jane is always there when I'm there and is always on top of it. She's a great multi-tasker and doesn't stress when the line is long. She gives everyone the same service and time. She's awesome. The front team is very helpful and friendly and will assist you with anything you need or at need answers for. If you like or want to learn to ice skate, figure skate or play hockey. Just about every inch of this place is extremely dirty and poorly maintained. The facility is clearly not well cared for. The tables are loose, dirty, and in need of repair, which makes the dining area feel neglected. To make matters worse, all of the exterior lights were on at 12:00 noon, giving the impression that little attention is paid to the property's upkeep or efficiency. Overall, this establishment appears to lack the basic maintenance and cleanliness customers should expect. read more

I love it here for the sheer size, cleanliness and bar/restaurant, but the open skate is insanely busy in the evenings. I'm taking adult group classes which are fun but again quite large. Their customer service team is fairly nice, front desk is hit or miss but the coaches are friendly and easy to talk to/get information from. Although the facility is beautiful, I don't think it's worth the price point. Spent almost $60 for two people for public skating including skate rental. The skates smelled awful, it automatically put me off and made me question how clean the rest of the facility might be. My partner saw hairs in the Men's restroom sink, as if someone shaved in the restroom. It was beyond crowded, almost to the point where I think it's unsafe. No place to store your valuables. The staff seemed very overwhelmed, and when I asked them how it works (it was our first time) she told us that we can put our stuff in cubbies around the rink. So when I saw there was no cubbies I went back to speak to her where she told me there was actually no cubbies and you just have to leave it anywhere. Especially with these large crowds, I don't trust my valuables to be left unattended. Overall, I don't think I would recommend for new/casual skaters. read more

Great Park Ice is an outstanding facility. It's incredibly clean, well maintained, and the staff were friendly and professional. I have nothing negative to say about the rink itself. My feedback is specifically about the Adult Bridge hockey class, and I'm sharing this because I think it could be genuinely useful for improving the program for new adult players. The Bridge class was extremely intimidating and not particularly welcoming for beginners. Rather than feeling instructional, it felt like a session that players with 4-10+ years of hockey experience were using to get extra reps and play high-intensity 3-on-3 pickup hockey. The pace and intensity often felt completely disconnected from the skill level of actual beginners. I went in expecting something instructional, a bridge between Learn to Play and Rookie League, but what it felt like instead was loosely organized stations followed by scrimmage, with minimal explanation. Coaches would call out drills using hockey terminology that most beginners have no familiarity with, and then everyone was expected to execute immediately. For someone new, it felt like being thrown into a blender. To the coaches' credit, they were genuinely supportive and encouraging when beginners asked questions. However, the environment made that difficult. There were moments where non-coaches openly complained when beginners slowed drills by asking for clarification. A prerequisite system or clearer screening for skill level would go a long way toward fixing this imbalance. I believe this program would be much more effective if it were structured more like the Adult Learn to Play classes or even like a Jiu-Jitsu Class: A brief warm-up Coaches clearly walking through the skill being taught Controlled reps where beginners can apply the concept Then optional scrimmage time at an appropriate intensity In Jiu-Jitsu, beginners are not thrown into full-speed rolling without understanding the movement patterns first, and that instructional structure is a big reason why adult beginners can progress while still feeling supported. Alternatively, offering a separate intermediate or all-levels clinic would likely reduce the number of experienced players using beginner sessions as pickup hockey. In its current format, this clinic doesn't feel like it actively grows the game for new adult players. As someone with an athletic background, I can handle the challenge but I can easily see how a true beginner with no sports background would feel discouraged and not return. At $37 per session, I left feeling that my time and money would be better spent at Stick & Puck, practicing fundamentals independently, and revisiting this clinic later once my skating and comfort level improve. I think with some structural adjustments, this could be a great program. Right now, it just doesn't consistently serve the beginners it appears to be designed for. read more

Awesome rink!! Very well orchestrated buying passes online in advance ($19 + $7 skate rental). Can get really busy so recommend coming at the beginning of the session. Ice is in great condition (compared to Ice Palace) and I love they have a bar and food upstairs. Anaheim Ducks team store is legit but expensive (not surprised) plus they have little arcade games! Lots of viewing areas for non skaters. Only downside is it can get busy making the rink clustered and lots of practicing going on (hockey and figure skating). read more

A great place to enjoy ice skating with family or friends. The ice skating rink is so large and they play a good playlist. We came on a weekend and it was kinda busy but we had a wonderful time! Came here 01/26/2023. Info first: $24 for 2 hours of skating + skates. Horrible experience. Front desk staff does not care a single bit about the customers. I got my skate rental and seemed to fit a bit tight around my ankles. I went up to the front desk and told them that it was a bit uncomfortable and asked if they could check my fitting. They dismissed me and said they didn't know how to check it. If they don't know how to check the skates, then why are they assigning skates to customers? Big facility lots of parking although sometime you have to walk far to get a spot but there's plenty it might not be as close as you'd like. Big tip is to go there early or be prepared to wear comfortable sneakers and walk. I like the fact that they have free charging for your phone a lot of amenities such as restaurants, restaurants, open spaces for cheerleaders and cheerleading practices, and a pro shop where you can heat mold your leather skates, get your different blades sharpened (they charge different prices, depending on the type of blades you have : check out my photo for more info). They also sell also also ice skates and other sports equipment when I went there they had plenty of people to help one person, but I got help by three other people in each one of them didn't know what the other one did and so it was a big ball of confusion The prices for heat molding your ice skating boots is very competitive. They have other services such as water ceiling your roots if it doesn't come that way and generally the pro shop could be run better but for what it is, I think they provide good services. They just need to have one person help. just one customer instead of multiple people so that they don't get confused. I do recommend this place but do your own research and find the best pricing even if you had to purchase online or purchase from outside of the US. read more

To me, I think this is one of the large ice rinks that I have seen. It has 4 rinks. Three of them has hockey team duke out their competitors. It sure is fun watching it live in this place. The intensity of the game. It's free entry to watch the figure ice skating that was competing at the last rink. It was great to see San Diego team was there competing & won!! So happy to witness the success! It's quite an inspiring experience to watch so many different type of teams compete for the events and age groups from large to small! Some silver hair to little babies stepping up to the ice rink! It's sure a treat to watch and afterwards swing on over to the other rinks of hockey teams beating up one of another. The store was very cute people were friendly and they had a very nice selection of clothes an accessories that had rhinestone embellishment Which is my favorite. This is a really nice ice rink. It is new, spacious, and have stadium seating. This isn't a regular ice rink. I've only been here when there's a competition so I don't know what it is like on non-competition day. They have concession stands like going to a sporting event or movie theater. They sell beer. Just like a stadium or theater, there isn't a dining area. There are random benches that you can use but it isn't a dining area. They have a pro shop but it's always been closed when I went there. Not sure what's upstairs as I never walked there. There's a lot of open spacious for competitors to warm up. There is a lot of parking but depending on the competition, it can get really full. They have EV charging stations close to the front entrance, next the the handicap parking. read more

Came here to watch our cousins hockey game and we had fun! Im an avid Ducks fan and was excited to see him play here, this was our first time as well. The rinks are all huge and the place looks like a convention. I didn't get to try the bar and food but definitely for next time I'll grab myself a drink while I watch. There is plenty of parking as well! The only thing I wish they had were softer benches, after their 2nd period our butts were numb. Can't wait to come back though! They offer public ice skating here as well but get tickets ahead of time in case they are playing games that night or have sold out. His team won 7-1! Go Empire! read more

Website is horrible to navigate. Can't buy partners or friends tickets. They have to make an account on this frustrating website. Just want more cookies to sell. Can't even buy a ticket for person right next to you. So frustrating. Additionally, someone has the same name as me so the website didn't allow me to make an account with my actual name???? My email wasn't valid for the forget password option, so I didn't have an account beforehand. However, I couldn't make an account with my actual name? Once I changed the last name it worked. So frustrating trying to just buy a ticket. Also, if your child is 18, they're considered your partner LOL, how embarrassing of this website to have such little options. They quite literally just want your cookies to sell. All they want is more and more people to make accounts, and they don't want to take the simpler and more effective route. It's a bit of a hit or miss with this place. The facilities are grand with at least 4 full size ice rinks. Public sessions throughout the week. The sit down restaurant with full bar is nice when it's open. But when it's not, there's always the walk up order line where you can get food and beverages including beer and wine. There are a bunch of teenagers running this place so customer service is spotty. Although you might get a good one if you keep trying. My daughter takes group lessons and recently added private lessons, which I will say is pricey $$$ (about $400/month for 2 days a week). You also have to be on top of it when you sign up for group lessons and reserve freestyle skate for the private lessons. Overall, we're pretty happy so far. read more

I got my skates sharpened for the upcoming Tin season and it only took 15 minutes and only costed $12. Great deal for getting skates sharpened. In short, although nice building and clean facility, too expensive, crowded, and the ice is bad. (For public Skating) With a fee more details, First, public skating is more expensive than other arenas including rentals AND it's so crowded you could barely move anyway. The beer is ten dollars at a place that's supposed to be family friendly and not a concert or something... Second if you're starting your toddler, they don't have rental skates for small sizes...so that will make it a bit challenging for the kid from the get go. By the time you get to my third point which is how can you charge a toddler just like an adult? you're 5 minutes into ice skating and almost already paid a hundo... I'm sure many people like this place but not me I'll stick to our small single sheet of ice rink nearby. read more

Come here to watch my boyfriend play almost once a week and everything is always spotless, everyone who works there is friendly and helpful, and there's plenty of space when it's crowded. Definitely the nicest rink I've ever seen, but the bathrooms and locker rooms probably need a bit better maintaining since those tend to get gross pretty quick. I didn't even know The Great Park had an ice rink! Looks like it's pretty new, and it is huge and beautiful - with 4 ice rinks inside and plenty of parking. We came here because we registered my daughter and her friend up for the Anaheim Ducks Learn to Play Hockey program. It is a FREE 4 week program for first time hockey players, and they provide all the gear to borrow from your head to your toes! The ice rink appears well maintained, and the staff have been wonderful. My daughter and her friend have been LOVING it so much that we decided to enroll them in the Little Ducks program - 6 weeks (1 hour sessions) for $165. And this time, you get to KEEP all your gear - so worth it! Outside of practices, we'll definitely be bringing them here more regularly for their public skate sessions too. read more

Talk about beautiful practice facility for the Anaheim Ducks. One that truly blows away the same concept for the Vegas Golden Knights. So I came to Great Park Ice as one of the rinks being used for Anaheim Throwback Hockey Tournament. Fortunate enough to be on an amazing team we got to the finals. Since made the finals had the opportunity play on rink three sheet the Ducks practice on! Woot! Woot! Great Park Ice it has three sheets of ice. Two are Olympic size and one regular size. It location is convenient right off the highway in the Irvine area. Close by lot of options restaurants. The parking lot is huge so never have worry about finding spot. I love LOVE the fact everything still has that brand new feeling to the rink. Am sure they run all types of leagues from youth to adult and open skate. The locker rooms are amazing. Not only are they clean but love the details in them. There cloth hook most part go all around each player get one, shelf above put stuff on, and things all the years playing in Vegas not use to. There a tunnel takes you out on the ice all the rinks. Another really nice touch not use to. U can high five family or friends came out support the team over the weekend. Penalty box more traditional across from the bench. The showcase rink totally blew me away cause looks like minor league rink. U literally have seating go around the whole ice and even press box. Bad ass. The ice was quality ice the whole weekend. In lot of ways got me feeling like pro with the details all weekend. I definitely look forward to next year tournament. read more

Nice set up. Very clean, and spacious. Plenty of parking...in the back lot only. Staff aren't that friendly most of the time, but they delivered on schedule on things like skate sharpening so I won't beep about it. The benches for waiting outside the rink by the big window facing outside are mostly loosened and beat up though which was shocking for such a nice and new rink. I guess it's due to kids horsing around on them. Kids inside and outside are pretty much out of control and both parents/staff don't give a dang so you just have to watch yourself before you either run over one of them or get hit in the face by a hockey stick lol. read more

We went during holiday...it was crowded. In the middle of ice skating they had to take us out because there was so many people that were ice skating and, the ice was like powder. The place was huge i mean HUGE. It is a lot of walking they have long lines too. It was a fun experience but probably not my favorite. read more

The soft opening was today 1/2/19. Grand opening 3/2019. Great Park Ice is located conveniently off the 5 fwy off of sand canyon within the Orange County Great Park. They have tons of parking available. Currently they have 2 rinks and already approved for a full alcohol bar and restaurant which will overlook both rinks. Aside from open skate they will be providing skating lessons for kids and adults; from beginners to advance. They will also provide hockey classes for kids and adults. In addition, they will be having adult Hockey leagues. This facility will be first class and a great hub for all local ice skating and ice hockey endeavors. Huge new ice rink. Multiple rinks. New and clean. No lockers to store your stuff though. There's a restaurant upstairs. People have kids parties here. Lots of people are here during open skate time. You can rent a rubber seal to help you skate. You sign a waiver, rent the skates, and off you go. Blades on the skates don't seem too sharp; don't skate too fast if you are new at it. The people working here seem a little disorganized. Not too friendly. read more

GPI (great park ice) hit a new low, charging their figure skaters for their music. Most skaters already pay $16 for an hour on ice, take turns playing their music. But now they've found another way to pick the pockets of skaters & their parents, charging for music! I think the blow came in the email, that they're "excited" about their new way to charge us money. What's next, charging to use their industrial, prison-like restrooms? Their front desk sign with the "A" has torn 3 of my shirts, I know, I should have learned the first time. It's a danger to young children, so be watchful. The tables in front of the snack bar are empty of people, but full of their suitcases, clothing, and other stuff laying al over the ground while they're on the ice skating, it leaves no tables for people to eat what they buy! They lock the locker rooms and the kids help themselves to CLAIM seats & benches, benches they only sit to put their skates on. This is truly sad! No tables/seats at Snackbar to eat (see above) No places for figure skaters belongings (how could this have been over-looked, this was designed for Olympic skaters & hockey (guess the money is in hockey). Hockey may make GPI more money, but figure skaters put as much money, or more, into it, just less people on the ice at a time. First, what a beautiful facility. Large locker rooms and well-maintained showers. Kudos. Next, as a hockey player, it's beneficial to see a schedule for the season. Here, you learn what time your game is 3 days before game day (sometimes, later). It's hard to plan personal activities with family and friends with such short notice. Not sure what the issue is, there are s/w packages out there to develop and manage team schedules. read more
