dim sum- egg tarts. light, flakey, mildly sweet. Great!

Came back here last month and boy has it changed. The food is still good, but the service is horrendous in its own way. As soon as we were seated, we were mobbed by cart ladies trying to forcefully put stuff on our table. After we fended them all off, we tried to order regular water, but the waiter said that they only offer bottle water. This was a first for me, and a ridiculous one at that. Seriously? Mind blown. Fortunately food items were easy to get but having the cart ladies be so aggressive and vulture like, it doesn't make for good ambience. Also, they have started to unethically put two orders of any item you request on your table, when you only ask for one! Had to correct them about this, and they stopped doing it. We will still come back here for the food since its pretty good, but just be forewarned about the previous mentioned issues.

There was no wait on a Sunday afternoon when we arrived. Plenty of seating available and suitable for larger parties. As soon as we sat down, we were bombarded by the dim sum carts. We didn't mind, we were starving so this was perfect for us. Our favorite dishes: -fried shumai -wet beef rolls -wet shrimp rolls -Chinese broccoli Do not recommend: -soup dumplings The soup dumplings were cold and were sticking to each other so when we tried to pull them apart, the outside dumpling would tear and all the broth inside the dumpling would spill. Very friend and fast service. Lots of options. I recommend if you're looking for a decent dim sum spot with no waiting.

Great Seafood Harbor This is a review for my dining experience at Great Seafood Harbor. WHEN: We were a party of 10 and we had dim sum for an early lunch on Saturday. They were able to accommodate us right away. The restaurant has a lot of tables and space. LOCATION/PARKING: It is located near Little India on Pioneer Blvd. There is a pretty big parking lot, but the spots are narrow. FOOD: Food is delicious! They have your typical dim sum specialties. My family and I often select: -Steamed pork buns -Chinese broccoli -Deep fried seaweed wrap -Har Gow -Honey walnut shrimp -Chicken feet Order FRIED HOT TOFU from their menu to share. It's very tasty! When it comes out fresh, make sure you cut it in half to cool it before eating. DESSERT: -Egg tarts -Sesame balls DRINKS: Their hot tea is very refreshing. They have Jasmine and Chrysanthemum ***Bring your own reusable water bottles. They do not offer water for free. They will charge you for bottled water. SERVICE: When you order dim sum they are very aggressive. ****They do not give you a menu to look at. Therefore there is a lack of transparency on the prices. I wish they could give each table a menu so you are aware of the quantity of pieces and the price. They have their cart and will put the plate on your table if you do not firmly say NO! Make sure you make eye contact, shake your head vigorously, and say NO loudly if you do not want a dish. If it is on your table they will stamp your bill and charge you. ***I would assign one person to hold the bill and after they place the item on the table give it to the server to stamp, so you know you are getting charged for that plate. The FOOD is absolutely delicious! But be mindful of the service.

This place has been around forever and you can see how it might've been nice in its hey day. (the chandeliers have star shapes ooh~). We used to come here occasionally for lunch but haven't been back since the pre-pandemic. We decided to give it a try for a weekend lunch. Wow it's bad. They don't offer cups of water w/ice (like a standard restaurant), they only offer bottled water for $2 each. Costco Kirkland brand no less. When they gave us 4 bottles we tried to tell them we only need 2 (since we also had tea) but they refused because it was already written down on the tab. Ugh. Nothing we ordered seemed fresh. Shrimp har gow was stuck to each other, xiao long bao was also stuck to each other like har gow and when we picked it up the filling came out but it was so dry there was no soup inside. 1/4th of the foods we ordered was cold. Egg tart is supposed to have a flaky crust but it looks almost like it was deep fried instead of baked. When we took a bite it was cold; cold like it came out of the fridge wtf. We expected 3 but they gave us 6? So it's more cold food. The turnip cake was like room temp cold. I don't even understand how this could have happened. They usually fry it up before serving it. We had 2 orders of rice noodle w/shrimp, that was as expected. Deep fried shrimp dumplings with chives. That was good, nice and hot as expected. The tea was hot but drinkable out of the teapot (so not scalding). Sesame balls seemed ok (I didn't eat it but the kids did). Maybe their regular food (cook to order) is fine, but we won't be back voluntarily.

My sis and mother in laws bday and this is where they wanna eat. We got seated very fast. It's a large restaurant. The food service cart ladies spotted us as sat down and was eager to service us with food. We ordered frm the menu as well. I like to say it's was very delicious and fast service. I think it's better than the dim sum dwn the

Like everywhere else, prices have gone up but at least the serving size remains generous. We also appreciate the fact that they still have the dim sum carts and an extensive variety of dim sum dishes. We enjoyed most of the items they offer, particularly the dishes with shrimp and/or scallops as the seafood are tasty, tender and plump. I don't recommend the soup dumpling as the dumpling skin is too thick and the meat tends to be pretty dry as if the soup had leaked out long before it got to the table. The cart servers will actively try to convince you to accept every variety of dim sum plates on their carts and some can be a bit pushy about it. But other than that, food is good is service is attentive.

I absolutely love this place! This is the place to go to if you want quick and easy service. After you get seated, there are servers walking around with carts of dim sum, offering a wide variety of dishes. They're all freshly steamed or pan fried, and it always satisfies my cravings. I go here with my family pretty often, and we always have a good time enjoying some good food. It feels so lively inside. It can feel a little chaotic at times with so many people asking if you want something from their cart. However, I love that the food is freshly made and ready to serve right when you get there. Since we usually come in with an empty stomach, we end up ordering more than we need, but the leftovers are still good later!

It was 4:00PM on Lunar New Year and we wanted dim sum so bad. We called and the lady on the phone said dim sum ended at 3PM, but that they still had some basic dim sum left and could steam what we wanted if they still had it available. She said there was no wait. We went for it! We arrived and the restaurant was DEAD. It was only us and another table. I give them 5 stars for the service and the food! Food was great! We were able to still get some siu mai, har gow, and baos. They were out of a few of our favorite dishes, but what could we expect. Decided to give them 5 stars because they were so kind to us. We had a 5.5 month old with us and she was SO fussy. The workers didn't mind at all and even asked questions about the baby. We felt lucky as we were able to walk around rocking the baby since the restaurant was so dead. Thank you to the kind workers! Overall, food always tastes good here! You can count on that too. Thanks Great Seafood Harbor!

Food There are a variety of classic dim sum choices to pick from with the dim sum cart ladies going around. The usual choices of siomai and har gow were good and can't really go wrong with them. Most of the steamed choices tasted good and I would definitely come back if I'm craving dim sum. The fried choices were okay but a bit dry. Overall i'd say not the best place for dim sum but definitely a safe choice to satisfy cravings. Service/Ambiance Now these dim sum aren't really known for amazing service but it was pretty okay this time around. Once you sit, all the carts start to come to your table and start trying to push these different choices onto you so it can be quite overwhelming, the servers are okay just a bit disappointed that we have to pay for bottled water.

7/12/23 Working remotely today & needed some quick lunch, this was the best option!! Walked in, got seated and the dim sum cart ladies swooped in like a hunter to its prey. They were mighty pushy today-slinging them dim sum bites, whoa! It's peak lunch hours & the place looked very lonely, with just 4 other tables occupied. Sign of the times, folks. The usual: shiu mai, pea sprouts, calamari, fried tofu, chicken feet, shrimp in rice noodle, seaweed wrapped shrimp. The tofu & calamari needed some freshening up-so they offered to reheat those. Everything tasted delicious. It was quick & painless! It does show how empty it was, not looking good for this business. Hopefully I just missed the rush. From the way things are looking overall, I'm thinking restaurants & businesses will be hurting for sometime ahead....

This has been my family's go-to dim sum spot for a long time. Whether it be for a celebration or introducing someone to dim sum for the first time. We love coming here for the consistency. Food - always pretty good. You get what you see. They almost always have what you're craving. Sometime quality lacks depending on what kind of day it is, but overall, I still love the place. The other day, The siomai was all steamed into one big piece, not separate. So trying to grab one was difficult. But that's me nitpicking for something to critique. Also, they do not do water glasses. They give you water bottles. Do they charge for it, I unfortunately do not know that. Also, sometimes food can be on a cart for a while and get cold when you get it. It's really a gamble. Service - Again, it's not fancy where you have a waiter. It's a Chinese restaurant where the staff yells to each other from across the room. It can get pretty loud. And the cart ladies either give you more attention than you'd like, or no attention at all and it takes for you to flag someone down to ask if they have what you're looking for. It's part of the experience. This is no Din Tai Fung. The restaurant itself is a bit dated, but I don't go in there expecting a Michelin star. Overall, I love this place and will still be our go-to when we don't want to travel far.

You are given a paper menu and you mark off the items you want to order, including tea; which is on the backside. The food comes put very qui key and not in any sort of order. The Dim Sum is solid. I was told their BBQ was amazing so a bit disappointed as our Boas had little stuffed inside and definitely average (as goid as I get at a local Asian market that sells hot food). I absolutely loved the crispy bottom layer because it added such a satisfying crunch to every bite. The inside stayed really juicy and flavorful with a good balance of pork, shrimp, and chives. The Juicy Pork Dumplings had soup inside, which was rich and savory. I've had soup dumplings before where the wrapper breaks apart too easily, but these held together nicely while still staying soft and delicate. The Wonton in Spicy Sauce was my personal favorite from the entire meal. The spicy sauce flavor was savory with a little sweetness. I'm typically not good with spice, so this is at a spice level that should be very manageable for everyone. I absolutely loved the spicy sauce, so I started putting it on everything. Definitely put the sauce on the chicken fried rice! The Chicken Fried Rice was a great dish to pair with everything else that we ordered. With several orders of entrees, a solid rice dish is a must order for any Chinese meal. The rice had a nice savory flavor that I enjoyed, and there was a generous amount of chicken mixed throughout the dish. I even asked the waitress if they do anything special with the fried rice because it tasted better than many other restaurants. It felt comforting and balanced compared to some of the heavier dishes. The Dry Fried String Beans were cooked perfectly with a slight crispness while still being tender. The garlic and seasoning gave them so much flavor that it honestly didn't even feel like I was eating vegetables. I do have to note that these were very much on the salty side, so if you don't like foods that are too salty, I would choose a different dish. The Orange Chicken was really crispy and juicy, which I appreciated because soggy orange chicken is always disappointing to me. The sauce had a nice citrus flavor while still keeping that classic sweet savory taste. The Spring Rolls were simple with vegetable filling on the inside with a crispy outside. I would try a different appetizer next time. The Kung Pao Shrimp was packed with flavor and had a really satisfying combination of textures. The shrimp were tender, and the peanuts added a great crunch to the dish. I thought the sauce had a really nice balance of spice and savoriness without becoming overwhelming. Another dish I really enjoyed was the Beef Roll Pancake. The pancake itself was nice and chewy throughout each bite. The sliced beef with green onions and sauce all wrapped together made every bite really flavorful and satisfying. For drinks, I ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea with Boba. I really liked that the jasmine tea flavor was noticeable instead of being overly sweet like some milk teas can be. The boba had a soft chewy texture, and the drink itself paired perfectly with the spicy and savory dishes from the meal. Staff: All of the staff members were quick and friendly Ambiance: Indoor seating only. A good amount of parking in the parking lot that is shared with other shops in the plaza.
