    Mapo fish and tofu. Wow

This neighborhood eatery is so real and gooood! Authentic and actually lived up to the hype by my cousins! I got the mapo fish soft tofu which was cooked perfectly. The stewed lion's head meatballs reminded me of my mama's TT_TT yum~ The spicy wonton filling is flavorful even on its own... I started scarfing them down before I realized i forgot to take pictures. The choose your own cold dishes were all delicious. Last not least, I'm excited to see millet porridge!! This tasty bowl of goodness helps with digestion, pH and just feels so good. Oliver Twist would definitely ask for some more. Rice is included yall! This needs to be an essential service back in all Chinese restaurants. The restaurant is clean, the auntie seats you, gives you tea on the house, takes your order and then goes to the back to cook for you!! And the dishes still come out hot and fast. Yall gotta come fill this place up so she can hire some more help. There's a sign on the door saying they're committed to having the best price all around and it's true. I felt safe yall. So welcoming. I found my new place.

This is my place for spicy Sichuan food. It's not overly spicy. I usually order the bitter melon but this might not be for you. The place is clean and service is always fast. Another great cold dish is the pig ear.

I stopped by here to get some appetizers while I waited for another food order next door. I want to say the time was about 11AM and then just opened not too long ago. I entered the place, no customers in sight. The appetizer cart was out and ready to go. I checked out the options and called for some help. The Chinese lady came out and said, you better not take too long because it is very busy today and I have a lot of pick up orders. Damn, good morning to you too lady. Fortunately, I have come to a realization that most chinese places aren't too big on customer service. The saving grace was the awesomely priced 3 item appetizer and the fantastic tasting food. Hence, only one start docked for the rude cashier lady. I ordered the spicy beef slices, shredded vinegar potatoes and pickled fermented string beans. They were all perfectly seasoned and paired well with a bowl of white rice. Though the service was not good, I can look past it for as long as the food stays well made.

Mom & pop restaurant. We like their #1 & #2 noodles. Spicy beef noodles were good & tasty, but their dumplings were average only.

Delicious noodles, dumplings, and beef burritos. We love their side dishes with rice porridge as well. Hidden in a low traffic plaza.

    * NOTE: I spent 3 weeks happily eating Taiwanese food at every meal in Taipei so I am a fervent fan…read moreof the cuisine. And prefer it over many other Asian cuisines.* The reason I chose M's Kitchen over two other Taiwanese restaurants in the area? So many more vegetable dishes! And wow, am I completely grateful I did! We arrived on a Saturday evening, and the server and chef were both in the kitchen. The server came over and gave us menus before getting our drink orders. She was prompt in a very caring manner without ever seeming rushed. She had lots of suggestions as we asked questions about the menu. At some point, the chef was sitting with us, and she asked him clarifying questions for us. She even went back into the kitchen to find out which vegetables were the freshest (which I appreciated)! We ordered a cup of ginseng and goji berry chicken soup, chicken cream corn soup (with egg), ong choy with garlic, walnut shrimp, crispy tofu, and green scallion pancake. As each dish came out, it felt like different instruments in an orchestra being highlighted as they wove into the tapestry of the music. The ong choy built onto the soup, the crispy tofu onto the ong choy and soup, and so on! Until there was this grand harmony of pulsating flavors and textures! I thoroughly enjoyed each dish! I only wish I had a bigger appetite so I could eat more and faster! The server helped us to pack the leftovers. We spoke about how traditional Chinese and Taiwanese food get lost in the mix of more modern and fusion recipes and restaurants. I am also a loving fan of mom and pop dining because it reminds me of the many meals I have been gifted by the parents of friends and friends who have opened their homes and hearths to feed and nourish me in my life. I love feeling like I am visiting someone's family and sharing a meal together. This is how M's Kitchen felt for me! I am planning how many meals I can have here and who I can invite to experience the deliciousness soon! Please consider visiting! Even if you haven't tried Taiwanese food yet, this is a wonderful spot to start with!

What I Ordered: Juicy Pork Dumplings ($11.99)…read morePan Fried Chinese Chives Pork Shrimp dumplings ($12.99) Wonton in Spicy Sauce ($11.50) Chicken Fried Rice ($12.99) Dry fried string bean ($13.50) Orange Chicken ($14.99) Kung Pao Shrimp ($18.99) Dan dan noodle ($13.99) Beef roll pancake ($12.99) Spring rolls ($3.50) Jasmine Milk Tea with Boba Food: The Pan Fried Chinese Chives Pork Shrimp Dumplings. I absolutely loved the crispy bottom layer because it added such a satisfying crunch to every bite. The inside stayed really juicy and flavorful with a good balance of pork, shrimp, and chives. The Juicy Pork Dumplings had soup inside, which was rich and savory. I've had soup dumplings before where the wrapper breaks apart too easily, but these held together nicely while still staying soft and delicate. The Wonton in Spicy Sauce was my personal favorite from the entire meal. The spicy sauce flavor was savory with a little sweetness. I'm typically not good with spice, so this is at a spice level that should be very manageable for everyone. I absolutely loved the spicy sauce, so I started putting it on everything. Definitely put the sauce on the chicken fried rice! The Chicken Fried Rice was a great dish to pair with everything else that we ordered. With several orders of entrees, a solid rice dish is a must order for any Chinese meal. The rice had a nice savory flavor that I enjoyed, and there was a generous amount of chicken mixed throughout the dish. I even asked the waitress if they do anything special with the fried rice because it tasted better than many other restaurants. It felt comforting and balanced compared to some of the heavier dishes. The Dry Fried String Beans were cooked perfectly with a slight crispness while still being tender. The garlic and seasoning gave them so much flavor that it honestly didn't even feel like I was eating vegetables. I do have to note that these were very much on the salty side, so if you don't like foods that are too salty, I would choose a different dish. The Orange Chicken was really crispy and juicy, which I appreciated because soggy orange chicken is always disappointing to me. The sauce had a nice citrus flavor while still keeping that classic sweet savory taste. The Spring Rolls were simple with vegetable filling on the inside with a crispy outside. I would try a different appetizer next time. The Kung Pao Shrimp was packed with flavor and had a really satisfying combination of textures. The shrimp were tender, and the peanuts added a great crunch to the dish. I thought the sauce had a really nice balance of spice and savoriness without becoming overwhelming. Another dish I really enjoyed was the Beef Roll Pancake. The pancake itself was nice and chewy throughout each bite. The sliced beef with green onions and sauce all wrapped together made every bite really flavorful and satisfying. For drinks, I ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea with Boba. I really liked that the jasmine tea flavor was noticeable instead of being overly sweet like some milk teas can be. The boba had a soft chewy texture, and the drink itself paired perfectly with the spicy and savory dishes from the meal. Staff: All of the staff members were quick and friendly Ambiance: Indoor seating only. A good amount of parking in the parking lot that is shared with other shops in the plaza.

I have liked everything I've tried, but I mainly love coming for their noodle soups! The noodle soups are really yum, very filling, and you can choose what type of noodle you want!! I believe they have knife cut, flat noodle, and a round noodle (?). But I personally really like flat or knife cut for the soups! Most recently I tried the chicken chow mein and it was good! Only thing is we ordered it spicy, and in all honesty it's really not spicy at all! Lol I would have preferred more of a kick, but that's just me maybe! The plates are shareable here which is really nice cause we can always try different things! One main thing I recommend is definitely the beef roll pancake!!! It's so sooo good! One of my fav things on the menu! The inside is clean. Not a super huge place, but I never have felt crammed or uncomfortable. Last time I went the girl helping us was so nice and attentive even when they were really busy!
