I hate to give bad reviews but the sesame chicken was 95% breading & 5% chicken drowning in a thick sesame sauce. I dissected half of the breading pieces looking for chicken but gave up and threw it away. I took napkins to soak up heavily sauced broccoli and settled on that with rice for dinner. What a great wall I drove past this place a couple of times and it didn't look like much from the outside but checking some of my other options in Dalhart decided to give it a shot. Huge portions Great food Had the sushi roll and it was not as great as the rest of our selections. We had the happy family, chicken and veggie soup and crab wantons. They were very good. We had trouble with our internet order. I called to verify they received but had difficulty communicating and ended up having hotel staff assist me and then all was good. The service was excellent. The food was okay. We were very grateful to have vegetarian options so give an extra mark for that, but the sesame tofu seemed overly sweet. We ate most of it, and we are glad there are options for vegetarians and plant-based eaters when driving through this area. Cleanliness was a 4/5 in dining room, 3/5 in bathroom, as soap was just in an open top bottle that you pour into your hand. I would really give this place 3.5 stars and so to be fair, upped from 3/5 overall. read more

Ever since Covid, I noticed Restaurant times on websites are different. Call ahead. Make sure that they're open first before you go. Great Wall Chinese restaurant, is the only Chinese restaurant in town. First things first there's a little buffet, I mean it's a great deal. I tried it this one afternoon while I was here in Dalhart. I mean it was nothing great, but it was decent and great price. It was a good meal and it fills you up. I can see why people come here. I did try some of the entrees and they were actually really good. I did come back again in order to go off the menu for dinner. I ordered the Mongolian beef and it was delicious. I've eaten a lot of Chinese food in my lifetime and I noticed this particular one had Chinese cooking methods of velveting the beef too. I highly recommend ordering off the menu and the Chef specials rather the buffet. I think this is where you'll enjoy their cooking style. You won't be disappointed. read more

We ate here on Father's Day, as our options were limited as it was Sunday, and we are so glad that we did!!!!! With my husband and I both eating the buffet, and I ordered an iced tea...we still spent less than $30.00 without the tip. The buffet is quite varied and delicious! It would be helpful if all of the food options were labeled so that you had a better idea as to what one was selecting to put on your plate, but you won't walk away hungry! We were happy to find this restaurant was open after 9 PM as we were traveling through town on a road trip. We called an order in and the food was ready within 15 minutes. We ordered chicken & broccoli and lo mein with pork & chicken. The quantity of food you get for the dinner special is phenomenal. It included an egg roll & soup or soda. We all got the egg drop soup, which was pipping hot. The lo mein was very tasty. We would recommend this restaurant for a quick, high value hot non-fast food option in the city of Dalhart. Fatboy disappointment: I saw the "All You Can Eat" sign in the way to the job site and knew this is where I wanted to eat lunch. Lunch time comes and I get ready to eat all I can eat. I swear I cried a little inside. The sign said open, I saw people as I was pulling up. BUT!!!! A no dinner in sign on the door. All they had was a small window for take out. That is NOT all I can eat. I wanted to sit down and gorge or lo-mein and egg rolls. Those signs on the front and side of the building are false advertisement giving false hope and should be taken down. read more

Everything about me wants to give this restaurant a better review. It's a regular stop for us in a town about 45 miles down the road, and it's decent Chinese food for a small town restaurant. But I have to be honest. When we started going, it was a very friendly place. We were always greeted with a smile, and the waitress remembered where we were from, and seemed genuinely happy to see us. That has gone downhill. The food is good; basic small town Chinese restaurant fare. There is not a whole lot about this restaurant that stands out; all of their food is good, none of it, really, is great. And the poor service is making us question the stop for good food. Recently we were in an hour and a half before close, and as we were serving ourselves, the kitchen staff was walking past some of the emptying trays, glaring at us and making comments towards each other in their native language. Shortly afterwards, they began serving themselves off of the buffet, so it's not hard to guess the source of their complaints. Like most Chinese restaurants, though, they really don't seem to care. Patrons will come, regardless, and let's face it, you don't go to a buffet for friendly waitstaff. Stop, if you must, but don't make it a high priority. The food was great! Some of the best Chinese I've ever had but one of the waitresses was rude and running around- she almotss hit me- and getting made at the other waitress. The blond waitress gave us the best service I've ever had and never stopped smilling. She's super appreciated!! I complimented her that she was still giving such great service when had to dealing with such a rude coworker and would have talked to boss if I had time. Hopefully management will se this! This restaurant has bad service when we asked for some more coke she took all three of our coke glasses and filled them up carelessly with different cokes in our glasses not even knowing which one was our glass I then asked which was my coke and she said the one was mine but then mine had a straw and the one that did not have a straw was supposedly mine so she took her dirty hand and grabbed it by the tip of the straw and put it in the drink that was supposedly mine and put the straw in the coke and they also reused our cups over the restrooms were so unsanitary and we told the owner about our waitress and she said for better service we need to tip the waitress this was the worst service and they also have no respect for the coustomers and also had bad food no light to see what you are doing food is way too expensive I paid eleven dollars for a tiny plate of food and also do not have napkins do not eat here worst place in dalhart just stop somewhere else do not eat here I know I will never eat here again read more
