Not that anyone would care or realize that this is my 3rd attempt to give these guys a chance.... TERRIBLE!!!!!! We're officially done. I was told that Great Wall is permanently removed from our lineup.. Generals Chicken was SO hot it couldn't be eaten. The chicken quality has gone down but after our last issue we decided it may NOT have been Great Wall that caused the stomach issues..... despite my assertion it was a Tabby Cat.... NOW I'm convinced... it was either feline, canine or the roughest toughest chicken this side of the coop. Vegetable Spring Rolls?!?!? Luke warm AT BEST, soggy, and ALWAYS changing the brand they're buying frozen because they haven't been consistent in over a year. Crab Rangoon? Overdone phyllo filled with "something"... a little duck sauce and voila... fried poo. I needed to rant. $40 down the drain, didn't eat but a few bites and with an impending blizzard, I'm not wasting any more time or gas driving back there to get a refund, and certainly NOT an exchange. Super disappointing. Placed my order in person; pretty simple order which included shrimp spring rolls, chicken satay, and coconut soup with shrimp. My only request was no bell peppers in the soup. The chicken satay went into the garbage; the meat was extremely fatty and did not have a taste or texture of chicken, maybe pork but I don't eat pork; the sauce was not a peanut sauce, not even close (some sort of American hot wing sauce with something added to it- no peanuts were involved in the making of that sauce). As for the coconut soup with no bells peppers, loaded with bell peppers- the most dominant vegetable in the soup, and very bland tasting. The food was much better under the old ownership. read more

Same like most this was my go to restaurant, the one dish I always enjoyed was the drunken Chow fun, very spicy and I love it, also I would get the beef lo mein, I ordered on May 2024 Sunday coming back from Perkasie car show got there picked it up went home, the drunken Chow fun was so bland not a bit of spice and I haven't been back since, I know I shouldn't condemn them on one time but I just hesitate. read more

Another middle of the road primarily takeout Chinese American kitchen on the outskirts of Doylestown, PA. The menu has all the usual suspects, plus a wave at Thai noodle dishes (Pad Thai, Drunken Chow Fun). The place appears disheveled, with stacked boxes and pieces of furniture in plain sight. The three tables available for dining in are not often used, as one is covered with things and the other two are not particularly clean. The lunch I had recently was not much to brag about. The Wonton Soup was of standard chicken bouillon from a box, while the wontons were also mass produced with a purplish ball of meat within. Not very appealing, although the soup itself was edible, yet salty. The Mango Chicken (extra spicy) was a better dish. Plentiful ripe mango and tender thin sliced white meat chicken in a decent sauce. The brown rice was okay without clumps. A little effort to straighten up the dining room (and likely the kitchen) would go a long way toward making The Great Wall more respectable. First time trying this place. New to the area. I got the orange chicken combo. It was not fresh. Nice portion size but you have to pay extra for white meat. The chicken was dry and had the texture of leather. My friend got the lomein. He was not very impressed either. I liked the fried rice okay , but the chicken was definitely old! read more

We live in an area that offers no decent Chinese food much less a restaurant that delivers. Great Wall has always delivered to my house, the food was always hot and fresh. I've enjoyed everything I have ever ordered from there...until tonight. I ordered Kung Pao chicken and it's awful. The chicken is breaded and fried, there is no sauce or vegetables and a handful of peanuts just thrown on top. It is unlike any Kung Pao chicken I've ever had and truthfully...it's awful. read more

If i could give less than one star i would. The food is absolutely awful with no flavor . I ordered Szechuan chicken and an asked for it to be spicy. It had no flavor and no spice the chicken was chewy and slimy. It seemed like it was steamed. The other dish I ordered was chicken udon noodles with vegetables. There was no flavor and again the chicken was chewy and slimy. My husband got sesame chicken and it was just alright. He didn't even finish it. Me and my girlfriend order here about 3 times a month and we have never been upset. Doylestown has very few cheap Chinese food options and in our opinion this is the best one around. The woman behind the counter is always very nice and polite and the chili oil and hot mustard in the fridge is outstanding. Just the fact that their veggie fried rice (as well as other dishes) is packed with a variety of fresh vegetables makes it better than any others. Typical chicken and broccoli in a good way but lesson learned. ONLY purchase Chinese food not the fusion food. The Panang chicken was awful, the "coconut rice" was white rice w/coconut milk poured over it to make a awful mush and the coconut soup was a weak version of Tom Ka Kai. Stopped here this evening while waiting for someone at a area business. I was pleasantly greeted by a little girl at the door. She was an amazing greeter and a huge help around the place. The staff is super friendly I assume its a husband and wife with daughter but I didn't ask. They were more than willing to help me out anyway needed and always pleasant and smiling. The place is small as noted. Three tables 2 chairs each and a few spare chairs. I was lucky and it was empty. Place looked clean and had all amenities easily available on the counter. I ordered the General's chicken. Chicken, broccoli, and white rice. First off I'm not a broccoli fan but I found it very tolerable. It was on the crunchy side and not soggy, I had a few pieces. Rice was cooked well and not watered down. Chicken was well prepared and not overly greasy or too spicy. I was pleased with the amount it is well worth the price of the meal. If your in the area and seats are open I'd say hop in. Not sure how delivery is or how the food withstands being driven around as mine was hot off the stove. read more

They messed the order up, admitting they didn't fill the order properly and twice forgot to add everything asked for then the stuck up witch was rude on the phone. Never order again. This hole in the wall takeout place is the only Chinese food in Doylestown right now or else they'd be out of business. I've tried this place 3 times now and it's never been very good, but this last time was just horrible. The pad tai was tasteless and just so bad. I had a $75 order and it is the cheapest, most tasteless, low quality way to make each dish. I threw out whatever wasn't eaten. I wouldn't feed this food to a dog. Shame on you Great Wall! read more

We've been looking for a Chinese restaurant in Doylestown and we received a flyer in the mail, so we decided to try it on March 18. First of all, the owners have an adorable and spirited little girl who interacts with waiting customers while her parent is working there. Stars: 5 The food: this is really a take out place. Chinese food doesn't travel well. We tried simple things: fried dumplings (5 deep fried dumplings which were just awful=0 stars). They must use commercial wonton wrappers or a poor quality frozen dumping. No ingredient vegetable or type of meat used was discernible. Next: 2 egg rolls. Mostly a fried wrapping with little vegetable and/or meat = 0 stars. Chicken entree with asparagus, carrot and chicken. Bland, but a generous portion and the vegetables were cooked just right. Great for kids that don't like spicy foods=3 stars. Sesame chicken entree. Bland, generous portion and broccoli cooked nicely--bright green and crunchy. Another good dish for children=3 stars. I won't eat their food again. My husband might try it occasionally when he is by himself for lunch. We are still looking for good Chinese food in Doylestown. read more

Best Chinese in the area, the area being about a 25 mile radius around this pace. I drive down for Ottsville and pass several Chinese places along the way to get to the Great Wall. Cant imagine why any bad reviews here , perhaps it is people that went for a sit down dinner. Food quality much better than the local (almost across the street) competition - but they need to get their act together with processing orders. First of all - NOT an eat in location - takeout is clearly their strength. Second - I called my order in, arrived on time - one person in front of me. They scampered to collect his order (that was not ready) for 10 minutes without asking me my order # / phone # / name (not sure what they use to track orders - my order was not tracked by any of the aforementioned). After waiting for 10 minutes for them to fill the other guy's order fresh from the kitchen - my order had been sitting out ready to go the entire time... so - yeah - it was cold - which is a pet peeve of mine. "Cold food = the wrath of Yelp!" - so apologies to those that think cold food = OK - but I'm not letting you slide on this. Even microwaved at home it was better than the local competition. Still. This place is okay. I wish I could give it 2.5 starts bc I think it's middle of the road. A lot of their food tastes the same so the difference between Mongolian beef or beef with vegetables is nominal. Some of their stuff is really greasy and sometimes the chicken pieces they use are mostly breading. Their Thai foods do not have an intense flavor but they are okay.
