The food is tasty, standard Chinese takeout. It's only a mile from my house, and we do get food here regularly. There is also a great sushi and hibachi restaurant right next door... their sushi is next door is amazing. It does bother me that sometimes you go, and what looks to be a 12 yr old boy taking payment... and a bit rude! All you get from him is.. "16.85". And that's it. I highly DO NOT recommend ordering online from their website; they're crooks! Credit card fee, convenience fee, delivery and added-on tip make me think these people should be in the banking business and not the chow mein business! Have not ordered from Great Wall in a while, should not have ordered today. Hot and sour soup was not hot or sour,1 mushroom piece , 2 pieces of tofu, a few shredded carrots. Basically bland broth. Egg roll was mushy and tasteless. I am very disappointed and will not go back.With the price of restaurant food, this was such a waste of $7, yes $7 for a small soup and 1 eggroll. read more

We used to always order from here, the food was good, delivery was fast. Now they have gone to Door Dash or Uber Eats for delivery. It's disappointing that I'm forced to use these companies as I'm not willing to pay the fees they charge. That detracts from the tip I would rather give the driver. Also, if the order is not right, the DD or UE drivers can't do anything about it. Then I'm stuck going to the restaurant anyway. How about just going back to the old fashioned way where they pay a driver, the driver gets tips for getting the food to me hot and not falling over on the way, and there's no extra fees for everything. If you call in an order for pick up make sure you make sure your order is complete. The chicken and rice soup is superior. My hubby likes the sweet and sour soup. I've been going to this place for a while and it was always pretty good. I usually ordered the orange chicken or General Tso Chicken Unfortunately the past 6 months the food has been bad. The chicken is constantly over cooked or recooked from the previous day!? It is hard and chewy.... So hard I can't even pierce it with a fork. It's just horrible! The food was bland, but the reason for my 1 star is due to the rude interaction with the lady taking our order. She was annoyed when My husband and I needed to look over the menu. I reached a decision and they were out of the 2 items we wanted. So we had to look over the menu again. You can tell she was not happy with that. A min later, we decided on chicken and snow peas and seafood chow main. The food was done in 15 minutes. She open the order window and shouted " Here" and pretty much shoved the food out, Then walked away. I don't know if the original cooking crew went back to China but my wife who picked up the food said the kitchen crew was not the same as in the past. The food was bland and my wife's pepper steak was slimy. This is the first time in years we have received a subpar meal from this establishment. We were staying at a hotel on the highway, and this was one of very few places that would deliver so my expectations were very low. The food arrived in half an hour, was still very hot, and was carefully packaged so none of it leaked. Most importantly, it was genuinely good food. The szechuan chicken was decently spicy, the orange chicken was really tasty, the ribs were great, the kids ate all the dumplings and fried wonton so they must have been OK. Well I set an another review support your local Chinese restaurant, and I think that's what I'm doing here. Maybe I have an affinity for small Chinese restaurants yes it's true I do. So I popped in to this one eye happened to drive by and find in a mall with a big supermarket and other things nearby and ordered my local favorite test dish kung pao chicken. I must say their Kung Pao was nice and meaty and had a variety of colors and textures that you don't find in every Chinese restaurant. This mix of flavors and a pleasant sauce made it all come out just right. The deep fried egg roll was hot. I mean temperature hot. And I had to wait for that baby to cool down. I put a little of the hot mustard on it and although it was crunchy and good. I gobbled up my Kung Pow and wonder what it would be like if I had multiple friends here and was able to try several other dishes. Maybe on another trip I'll get that. It's a nice little restaurant and I must say it's a family place as the girl who took my order couldn't have been 10 years old. She did a wonderful job and everything came out just right. Let me start with saying that I order from here all the time. I've always had a great experience, and wonderful food, but tonight really has been a bummer. Also - I order by phone and they deliver. I always do delivery. I ordered bourbon chicken with $2 extra chicken and pepper steak with $4 extra steak. When it arrived, the $2 extra chicken was there, but the steak was no different than had I just ordered it as it came with no extras. I know this because I've ordered it before with the extra beef, and have also ordered it as is. When i called to ask what happened, they just told me that the price from their supplier went up and and what I got is what I got. Seriously? It's just disappointing. I've ordered from them for years - I've changed addresses and phone numbers over time so they probably don't realize just how long I've been with them. Something along the line of making it right just this once would be appreciated. I know people come on here to complain a lot - and that's exactly what I'm doing. Because, well - I've worked in customer service for a very long time and I know things happen beyond control, but for someone whose been so loyal, those are the ones you should work with. Unfortunately, a 0 star rating is not an option but a 1 star rating is more than generous for "Great Wall" St.Augustine. While ordering the food you are able to get a clear view of the kitchen where not one employee is seen wearing a mask nor gloves. While packing the food into to-go containers the cooks grab the meat, noodles, and rice with their BARE HANDS using no utensils whatsoever. If I could make a list of worst restaurants I have ever experienced, this would more than definitely be at the top of that list. The cashier taking orders was extremely rude and refused to give a refund before the food was even made, once my friends and I exclaimed we did not want to eat that garbage anymore. As an employee in the food industry, I would never once for a second think of contaminating or touching a food item that is going to be consumed by a customer. It was absolutely unbelievable! If you ever come across a craving for Chinese food, the Great Wall should be the LAST RESTAURANT to be considered. I am still in awe that my friends and I spent $17 DOLLARS PER PERSOM ON CHINESE FOOD AND WERE DENIED a refund after explaining to the cashier what we had seen and that the food shouldn't be consumed by any persons as it poses a health risk and possible exposure to food poisoning. This is possibly the grossest thing I have ever experienced when it comes to "eating out" in my entire lifetime. I genuinely believe this business would be shut down in a heartbeat if inspected by either health services or CDC. I'm astonished by the lack of effort made to follow even a percentage of health guidelines in the middle of a pandemic. Needless to say, even if a pandemic was not present, it is unacceptable to be using your BARE HANDS to handle a customers food that is going to be consumed.
