They get two stars because the food was hot and was food. Otherwise it would be one. Beyond that - the fried rice was orange (?), and was terrible. The honey garlic chicken was bland, couldn't even smell it when I opened the container. The egg roll was a frozen model, red inside with very thick coating. Again, almost tasteless. Love this place! You can order online and the delivery is quick. I ordered 70 dollars worth of food and I received it within 45 minutes to my house! And of course, the food is great! I really wanted to like this place since it was recommended by several people. I was looking for delicious fried rice, but I didn't find it here. The vegetable fried rice was tasteless. The general tso tofu my husband ordered wasn't worth saving for lunch the next day. Neither was my fried rice. On a good note, the two spring rolls were crispy, hot, & tasty. Another positive was that the food was delivered piping hot. The person who took my order, Max, was very polite and competent. We most likely won't order from this restaurant again. Our local neighborhood take out has been a disappointment lately so we decided to go a little further from home. This was a great decision as the food from Great Wok was delish! We ordered take out tonight based on Yelp reviews, & once again, were happy with our choice. We ordered mixed Won Ton/Egg Drop Soup, Cold Sesame Noodles, Spring Rolls, Mongolian Beef, & Chicken & Eggplant in Garlic Sauce. EVERYTHING was fabulous except the Spring Rolls. They were crispy, but not very flavorful. The beef & chicken were supremely tender & perfectly seasoned with great sauces both with some heat. Food was packed so well that they thought to separate the cold & hot foods. Food was ready when we got there for pick up. We got "small" portions, they gave us large portions for a small price. The cold sesame noodles were very good too. Having lived in New York city, & now Philadelphia, we are accustomed to excellent Chinese, & we were so pleasantly surprised. Very fresh foods, well prepared, good portions, fast service - and the person answering the phone spoke English very well!!! - always a plus when ordering. Even the fortune cookies were flavorful. Got lunch there today for me and my daughter. She got a side salad, beef with broccoli and fried rice. She is not normally a Chinese food eater but she said she like all of it. I got usual Gen Tao which was good but to much sauce poured over it (my daughter preferred hers with the more sauce added,..go figure). I had to separate it from container to drain it a little... but would order it again. Fried rice was well done as was egg roll. My favorite part was the side of Won-Ton soup... it had a very very tasty broth and won tons were well cooked as well. This is my go-to place for Chinese food, always fresh and hot and everything I have tried from there is excellent. My favorite is the honey garlic chicken and orange beef. I decided to leave a review this time because it is Christmas and we order Chinese food for dinner every single year. Today, as you would expect, they were SLAMMED! The line was 10 people deep just to pick up orders. My order was placed online and it did take about an extra 30 minutes for them to have it ready but I didn't mind waiting because IT'S CHRISTMAS and one of the very few places open for dinner. There was a couple Door dash guys in there who were absolutely obnoxious and asked every other minute if their order was ready. I just want to commend the staff for keeping their composure, working fast and efficiently and most of all being so nice and sincere when apologizing for the wait. Those ladies got it done!! I will say that overall, Chinese food sucks in FL!! lol. However, there are a handful of places that are good that I have came across so far. You just gotta find them and try it. This place is definitely one of the good ones. My girlfriend and our 2 friends tried this place for the first time this Monday. Now before I begin, I want to give a round of applause for the 2 young ladies and the young gentleman at the front for handling the customers and phone calls the day after Hurricane Irma. I want to thank the Chef(s) in the back as well for the work they put in. We walked in and the place was jammed! You couldnt move. A lot of people were probably itching to get out of the house and have a hot meal (like we did haha). Customers were getting so angry for long waits for their food but cmon people we just had a hurricane! We went through a lot worse over the last few days than waiting an hour for food that you wont cook yourselves and you can clearly see the place was mobbed and they got slammed. Give the poor people a break for crying out loud. But they did such a good job. Ownership/management should be proud of those guys for what they had to go through. They were helping out back, calming irate customers down, and the phones were blowing up to the point where they couldnt take any more orders because of the County Curfew. Good job guys! I'm in customer service so I can totally relate and respect how you guys handled everything. Anyways, after a long wait we finally got our food and went home. It was worth the wait. I could not believe how fresh the food was. I got the Beef & Broccoli and the broccoli was so fresh. They have the best Beef & Broccoli ive had so far in south FL. My girlfriend got the General Tso Chicken and she said this was her favorite General Tso Chicken she had thus far too. The egg-drop soup was really good. Not snotty or anything like some places. Great Wok was NOT GOOD. Got 2 meals. One was bland and expected Jumbo shrimp vs small. Other tasted like orange peal chicken way over zesty. And for the price I expected way more. I walked in w great hope of getting great Chinese food, as I saw many people entering and leaving this restaurant. I was sadly let down by the dish they called "Kung Pao Chicken ". It was a soupy mess swimming in a brown non-descript flavorless sauce w random veggies (canned corn, sliced peppers, chunks of mushroom, and paper thin slices of chicken). Did not resemble the Kung Pao chicken that I grew up w in the DC area--that consisted of spicy chunks of chicken lightly tossed w crunchy fresh peanuts, barely coated in a red sauce. Sad day for (American) Chinese food. Perhaps they'd be better off serving actual Chinese food? More cabbage dishes, as their moo shoo pork had a little flavor bc of the cabbage present. However the dry, raw, white tortillas that accompanied the moo shoo pork were just that: packaged dry, flavorless uncooked flour tortillas. read more

I am always hesitant to give a poor review to a 'family' restaurant.. because I know it must be very difficult to 'make it work' and I don't want to take money from someone's pocket. That being said.... I also feel a sort of 'responsibility' to share my experience. I live 3 minutes from this place and really, really wish it was great... in the interest of convenience. In fact, for that reason I have given it more chances than I probably should have. I use 'General Tso's Chicken' as my 'reference dish' anytime I visit a new Chinese restaurant. Each of the three times I ordered this dish I have found it to be void of chicken. Instead of using chunks of chicken, they use dumplings that have only wee shreds of chicken inside. When I say 'wee shreds', this is a generous statement. Out of all the Chinese restaurants I have frequented across the states, I have only encountered this one other time which was up in NH near a tourist area. If the flavor was rich and good I might even overlook the lack of meat... but I find the flavor to be very 'off'. By 'off', I mean unpleasantly peculiar. I have always tossed it in the trash after a few disappointing bites. Now spring rolls... well, I love spring rolls, egg rolls, lumpia..... anything like that and I am easy to please.... but again, I have not yet brought myself to finish these. And this is coming from a guy that will eat the boxed frozen eggrolls at Costco.... so my standard isn't really that high. I just don't understand two things. How can this be called 'gourmet'... and how could other folk have thought it tasted good? They must have gone only on the good days.. and I must have gone only on the bad days. The reviews made me excited to try this place, but it was fairly mediocre eating here for the first time. The garlic shrimp and fried rice (without pork) were not what I expected, but good. I'd eat it again. The garlic shrimp isn't spicy at all so ignore that little hot pepper on the menu. But the sauce was good (not garlicy) so I have no complaints. It tasted great. What blew it was the sides. The wonton soup was clear and flavorless. To the point where I thought adding soy sauce and pouring in handfuls of wontons was a good idea. It wasn't. Tossed the whole container. It also had funny little pot-sticker/dumpling looking things (also filled with strange looking meat) The "Egg Roll" was pink in the middle and had meat in it I think. That I threw away immediately. I've never seen an egg roll not filled with veggies and instead filled with pink hunks of meat soooo...yeah. It was fried to perfection though (not soggy but not burnt) so I may just try a different type and specify that I want a Vegetarian Spring Roll instead. Moral of the story - the egg roll & wonton soup are currently resting peacefully at the bottom of my trash can. read more

My first visit was a good one... The physical location has several sit down tables. So you can eat-in, carry out or have your food delivered. I decided to sit at a table and eat my dinner there. The place is spotless, very clean. The hostess was very gracious (and a smokin little hottie). I ordered the Mei Fun veggie plate and added fried tofu for an extra dollar. The amount of plated food was very large and exceeded my expectations. My only issue was that more noodles were given rather than veggies. So while the dish was delicious, it could have had more veggies than noodles. Oh, and no fortune cookie so I couldn't play Lotto! LOL I do recommend the Great Wok. read more

Awesome. This restaurant is family owned and operated and the pride they take in their business shows. The lobby is nicely decorated and white glove spotlessly clean. One of the owners (Lisa) was at the front counter and was a pleasure to speak to. The food was fresh and delicious. And they have a salad option for a side dish which is an unexpected and welcome option from a Chinese restaurant.
