In an effort to give grace for being brand spanking new and facing normal issues to be expected, we waited to give this location a shot thinking they'd have ironed out any kinks by now. Purchased tickets online, in an effort to save time but still waited 1 hour and 40 minutes in line to get in. Mind you, this was on a week day. Staff were less than pleasant and offered no apology for the excessive wait time. Water park was extremely overcrowded, with kids running, cutting in line and doing things they clearly should not have been doing with no staff seeming to care. After waiting in a line for over 30 minutes to ride a water slide, we were told there was a possibility of rain and the slide was shut down and never reopened, despite not a drop of rain the entire day. Quite odd for an indoor water park. In addition to limited selections and outrageous prices, food courts were absolutely filthy, with tables cluttered with trash and an obvious spill on the floor that was never cleaned in the 2 hours we sat waiting for our order and eating. I attributed this to the obnoxious teenagers working with what seemed like no adult supervision at all. Very unfortunate. I'm sure I can speak for many when I say that visiting Great Wolf is a treat my family can't afford to do often so when we are able to, it is heartbreaking to be met with such disappointment. I forced myself to take a much-needed break from work--being self-employed, I've watched my preteen sons grow up too fast and realized I needed to carve out more quality time with them. My wife, kids, and I scouted options for a boys-only getaway and settled on the Gulf Coast Great Wolf Lodge in Webster, TX, just south of Houston. This nearly new location for the franchise, less than a year old and partnered with Hilton Grand Vacations, promised the perfect mix of fun and relaxation. We opted for the Ultimate package, including breakfast, knowing our active boys love to fuel up for the day. After a four-hour scenic drive from home base, we arrived for our reservation and joined others waiting to check in. The hostess managed the bustling counter with courtesy and poise, well-trained for the steady flow of excited families. Before long, they paged us that our room was ready. Getting to the main elevators involved weaving through a joyful maze of children engaged in the lobby's ongoing activities--a lively scene that set an energetic tone for the stay. Our freshly cleaned room (4137) was spot-on: a dedicated kids' area with three bunk beds, and a main queen bed section with a large big-screen TV and dinette table. The view overlooked the outdoor pool and cabana bar, adding a scenic touch. The indoor pool area buzzed with energy, where the Hungry Wolf snack bar dished out everything from juicy burgers and creamy shakes to cold beers and their signature Great Wolf-Rita (a playful twist on margaritas). The boys quickly made new friends with kids their age, diving into Magic Quest, rope climbing and traversing the indoor adventure trail, tackling mini golf and bowling, and splashing through the expansive water park complete with basketball hoops. The Virtual Frontier stood out as a favorite dry activity for me and the boys, pulling us into a thrilling desert warrior adventure. The arcades and bowling added even more fun to the mix. For dining, breakfast at Timbers Table Kitchen was a highlight, with omelettes whipped up to order alongside a hearty spread that satisfied everyone. The Fireside restaurant and bar provided another solid sit-down option, reminiscent of an Applebee's or Chili's vibe. Disappointing Experience - Not Worth the Price I recently stayed at Great Wolf Lodge in Webster, Texas, and unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected at a resort of this caliber and price point. From the very beginning, the check-in process was impersonal and frustrating. The self-check-in kiosks were difficult to use and ultimately didn't work, leading to a 20+ minute delay. The front desk staff also had my reservation mixed up, which only added to the stress. Even though I had prepaid for my stay, they still attempted to charge me again upon arrival. While the dance party and Magic Quest were great for the kids and kept them entertained, that was one of the few highlights of our stay. The food was a major letdown--so bad that our group of 20 decided to eat at local restaurants instead of at the resort. We had reserved a cabana at the water park, but upon arrival, we were not greeted or introduced to a server. After waiting 45 minutes with no service, I had to track down the waitress, who gave me her phone number but ignored my calls and only responded via text after multiple attempts. At that point, we were forced to get our own food from the concession stand. After escalating the issue, Rodney (the GM of service) stepped in and helped resolve the situation, which we appreciated, but it should not have gotten to that point. As for the water park experience itself, it was concerning. The wave pool was evacuated three times due to an unknown substance floating in the water. By the end of the night, one of my guests fell ill, and over the next day, six members of our party had to go to the urgent care and doctors due to symptoms that appeared to be related to the excessive chlorine levels in the water, including headaches, sore throats, and stomach issues. I personally suffered from a severe migraine after spending time in the pool. This is a serious health concern that needs to be addressed immediately. The staff overall lacked proper customer service training, with the exception of Rodney, who worked to resolve our cabana issues, and Nica, who went above and beyond to help me locate my daughter's iPad. While Great Wolf Lodge is known for family-friendly fun, the lack of service, poor food quality, and concerning health issues at this location make it a place I cannot recommend. This hotel is extremely dirty, and not maintained well. We have given them several chances to redeem themselves and alas this will be our last visit. The front desk staff is rude, and when we found stains on the sheets and hairs on the towel they said they would switch rooms to one with only 1 bed for 4 people or they would give us the sheets and we could change everything ourselves. On top of that the parking was raised to $25 a day even when you are staying at their hotel and incidentals is $100 PER night. It's such a disappointment to have some that could be so much fun be a less than stellar experience. read more

Ugh my family and I were super excited knowing that a great wolf would be opening near us here in the Houston area so we didn't have to travel to the Dallas area, since we enjoyed that location so much, we thought it would be a no brainer.....boy were we wrong! Nothing against the staff, they were more than helpful during our stay and made an unfortunate situation slightly better. We reserved a grizzly bear suite for my daughter's birthday and the first room was a great size. Unfortunately we found multiple issues with the room and reported it to the front desk and we were asked to switch rooms. The room we were given was way smaller than the previous but at this point we were just ready to enjoy the hotel and the weekend for my daughter. The hotel itself seemed very rushed to me in regards to the building and layout. Everything is bunched together and overpriced. Food court is ok at best with everything tasting as if the salt shakers open top busted open all over everything. Unfortunately we were not happy with our stay. Over priced, not worth the amount of money spent for mediocre accommodations. I would rather drive the additional 2 hours to Dallas for a better experience unfortunately. read more

From the moment we walked in, our experience was disappointing. The front desk staff was not particularly friendly, and we were immediately told that our room wasn't ready. We politely asked how long it might be, and were told our room was "next to be cleaned." We understood we had arrived a little early for regular check-in, so we tried to be flexible. They suggested we take our bags to the water area and change there, but when we arrived, we were turned away and told we couldn't bring our things in. We went back to the front desk to ask if there was a place to store our bags, and were told "no"--and that "maybe next time we should just leave them in the car." Not exactly the level of customer service you expect from a family hotel. Another hour passed. We checked again on the room, only to be told, "I'm not allowed to tell you when it will be ready." We also asked them to update the phone number for text notifications so we'd know when the room was ready. They said they did--but when the room was finally available, the notification went to the original number, not the one we updated. When we went back to the desk to ask about our room, we were told, "Your wristband is your room key." This was never explained to us at check-in. We asked what room number we were assigned, and the response we got was, "Well, if you read the text, it was in there. But I'll tell you anyway." I explained that I never received a text because they sent it to the original phone number, and they had no response. Overall, the customer service was terrible from start to finish. For a family-oriented hotel, this level of service is completely unacceptable. We left feeling frustrated, unwelcome, and very disappointed. We were so exhausted from spending pretty much all day inside the waterpark, that we decided to dine in at its "Fireside Bar and Grill"...and glad we did. We started off with Crispy, perfectly seasoned Pork Belly starter. My wife chose the Pork Belly, Pulled Pork, Jalapeño Popper Mac n Cheese, and it was divine. I ended up going with their Special for the evening, The Prime Rib accompanied with Au Jus, and Horseradish Cream Sauce with Mashed Potatoes and Crispy Green Beans. Was excited a hotel w in door park, only to be let down. Halloween was like wow, great balloon decor, and small sessions of games for kids (only positive). Don't expect experienced hotel managers, a manager at days inn was nicer. My experience was with manger named Nancy. There was a breakfast package charge at a cafe I never went to, also a small adjustment. So obviously it shows system glitch. She told me she would check w cafe and get back to me in a couple of days. No answer. I call back months later cause during that time only got automation since they are busy but since it's cold now I got to speak to actual humans. After reading others reviews it seems like a norm to be over charged. And they don't compensate you for over charging, which she told me. So they win win? Save your money and go to disney or even a regular hotel. read more

This review is ONLY for the half-day pass. First off - I think this is a fantastic option for locals to enjoy the waterpark and the interior options. The half-day pass is for the 4p-10p. However, the waterpark closes at 8p - every night. Soooo....you are wondering what to do for the next 2 hours. I was told that we could enjoy the inside activities (we didn't), but those may include a really cool climbing/treehouse obstacle course, the food courts - the evening show/dance session - arcade (these items you could enjoy just by walking in no matter what - probably not the obstacle course though). Secondly - the waterpark. SO FUN. Lines were "long" (~15-20 min), but worth it. The 5 person tube slides are dark and mysterious which adds to the excitement. The wave pool is not too wavy, but it is nice and soothing, even the kids section was really fun because you can spray people on the lazy river :). The lazy river is fun because the current is really fast. There was another little pool with some lily pads to walk across, and that pool also had basketball nets (I did not get in this pool as it was crowded, and I didn't want to get hit by a ball). The large outside pool was closed due to low temperatures, but it looks absolutely beautiful. There is a large hot tub - which is a mild temperature. While I didn't take part in the bar drinks, there is a bar inside the pool area, and you are permitted to bring your beverages to the hot tub. I got a milkshake instead, which was good, but it was NO Dairy Queen. :) The restroom/shower area is very clean and large. Note--there is NO hair dryer type device in there. I opted to use the Dyson hand dryer instead. (Yes, I was that person squatting underneath the hand dryer. I don't care because it dried my hair quickly.) Please remember to turn in all your towels, or you will be charged $15 for every towel you do not turn in. We didn't eat here. Simply because we wanted to go to Hopdoddy. The little evening show is really cute, there is "snow" that falls from the sky. The little dancing event is really fun - the little kids are simply the best to watch because they are having so much fun with their little wolf ears on. Just know that things are expensive. It is what it is. - Think theme park pricing. However, you can bring in food. You can also bring your own refillable water bottle, and they have a filtered watering station. The staff was so kind. The little kids were high-fiving with them. Some of the slides have weight limits; I don't remember them off the top of my head. All in all, we will absolutely be back for the half day, maybe even the full day pass. We will probably only stay if there are specials because the hotel stay prices are a bit high. read more

We live in Oregon and we made a mistake and booked for the Texas location. We rebooked for correct Washington location but still were refused a refund. While it's a great concept, this location is designed with younger kids in mind. We've taken our kids (8, 13, 14) to the grapevine location for years and it seems there's always something for them to do. The Webster location is very small, there weren't many people when we went and we were still bumping into people in the river. I can only imagine how bad it is during peak season. also most of the attractions are aimed for littler ones, my 8 y/o was even bored after a few hours the first day. With that being said, my biggest issue with them is the hold they put on your card. I completely understand it's necessary, what I don't understand is why you have to wait well over 2 weeks for the hold to be released. For instance, I went with my family on Feb. 6th, and I'm STILL waiting for my temp hold to be released and today is the 24th! ETA: I finally received my hold/deposit back on March 8th after I contacted them. read more

Beraxus Bear station broken. Forbidden Forest sensor broken/detached. Dunkin order kiosk has items available that have been discontinued. They will sub whatever is easy rather than go to the back to grab more of what's needed. Interesting surprise you find in your bag. Waterpark: The one girl blocking the way made us wait in the line while she attached wristbands even though we had already been in the waterpark and had visible wristbands. The lazy river is short and shallow. Probably great for 4ft people. Slide suctioned to my back and left a red mark. The towel stem is good in theory but will probably cost you $15 for their mistake. Parking: more money grab. Everything is overpriced. Even if Great Wolf Lodge offered me a free week to come back, I think I'll pass. Take that for what you will. I've wished we could check out early every day since arrival. The way this place is elbow to elbow packed every day, you'd think the whole place was free. We arrived for 4pm checkin only to be told our room was not available and they did not know when our room would be ready. The clerk said checkin begins at four as if the establishment was not in the wrong for not having our room ready at four. Marissa at the front desk was beyond rude and should not be working in any customer service position. When I asked her for the second time at 4:45 why our room was still not ready she became extremely defensive and had a horrible attitude. I asked her for her supervisor. Justin came to assist myself and another family having the same issue. Justin was zero help as well and seemed not to care at all about customers being dissatisfied with the situation at hand. He offered us complimentary rope course visit while we waited for our room. Note: we tried to use these rope course visit before leaving on our last day and it was not open. We bought passes for the kids to visit all the attractions during our visit, some which were not working during our visit. Zero compensation for this inconvenience as well. Wonderful memories, stress included... But when I think it's over, I get the bill and I'm charged for two late checkout fees at two different values($79.99 and $89.99). They recognize the oversight and refund me the lesser value, explained that the room I had cost more than what they thought I was in. Here lies the problem, aren't they supposed to know what the charges are accordingly? All I see is incompetence and a reason for concern. I understand I purchased this through Groupon, but that doesn't excuse that type of charge due to their oversight after I've paid all the fees of the Wolf passes, up charges and more. It's been upcharge after upcharge. You buy the most expensive pass and get a wand but you have to pay for the additional part that it could not work without. Mind you have paid $89.99 for the pass and $20 more for unlimited options. But the mod for the wand is $20+ and is required for the wand to work. read more

Super fun staycation! Great for younger kiddos and big families. Loved how clean (brand new) the facilities are and the staff are very much in character. The food wasn't the best but we enjoyed a lot of their "dry activities" after a long day of swimming (wolf bingo, story time, arcade, bowling, wand scavenger hunt). My only complaint is the outdoor pool closes early, the drink station counts your pours to the ounce (no refills), and the resort parking fee was a bit nuts. read more

We were excited to have a resort that wasn't a 3+ hour drive. This would've been a great staycation destination but we will never return. Parking is $15 with only 1 entrance, 2 exits, and drivers who can't read directions so every time we exited there was a long wait because people didn't know how to get scan to get out. Food is awful and even at the "food hall", small burgers and tender meals were $17+. The ice cream shop serves bottom of the barrel Blue Bunny Ice cream. The "resort" was very small. Lobby where they held events was small, adventure area small, bowling area had 6 small lanes, and water park is tiny. Everything is clean and new right now so that's a positive but j can see this all going downhill within the next few years. Service wasn't bad but minimal at best with zero interaction unless it was to give us directions or make a transaction and there was no hospitality whatsoever. Clientele was a mix of families and unsavory scantily clad guests that might've forgotten proper clothing but sported their wolf ears at all times. Decor and furniture just felt cheap. Like they wanted everything to have a facade of being a nice resort but fell short. Our neighborhood pool feels more luxurious. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable but again, everything felt cheap. Pipes for the sink exposed because there is no vanity or drawers. Bathtub is short and tiled with basic cheap tile; they did the bare minimum. It looked like a cheap motel like a Palace Inn or Motel 6. Cherry on top is that I'm writing this while laying wide away on our staycation at 630 am. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. Kids running and yelling down the hall, drunk people stumbling, ratchet people cursing, someone is playing tennis or ping pong against one of our walls, a family on the other side yelling at each other to wake up for breakfast. We probably got 5 hours of peace and quiet last night. Thankfully our child is exhausted from being in the water and we resorted to playing white noise on Spotify from our phones for her to stay asleep. We would've been better of driving home and im very glad we booked a short stay. The only saving grace of this place is it's proximity to so much food and shopping that you can leave versus spending more time here. read more

This was actually my first time at a great wolf property! I had high expectations for this newly built location. Thankfully I have kids or else I might be a bit underwhelmed. It's smaller than what I was expecting but a decent size to have fun with smaller kids. We had the room with bunk beds in it which was not as spacious as I was expecting. Everything is clean and fresh which is a plus but still feels over priced. The water park is the main attraction and lazy river was the highlight. The slides seemed way too quick. Food is high but decent to eat. There is an all over wizarding game that is way too expensive but is actually pretty fun as a distraction for the kids. So go ahead and splurge! You get a nifty wand to flick and light up all the stones. Everyone who worked there was extremely friendly and helpful. They really made the experience. read more

We wanted to check out the new GWL in Webster during our kids' fall break. It was busy when we arrived on a Tuesday and was jam packed by Thursday! Overall, we had a great time. 2 days was enough time to get it all in. I did like that all the activities were on one floor, but the indoor water park is much smaller than the one in DFW. I hate that you have to pay for parking on top of everything else - it gets very expensive very quickly! The paw passes were worth it since we haven't gone in years. It is best suited for little kids. We had teens with us as well and they enjoyed it too but it was magical for my 5 year old. Overall, it's a great quick getaway! read more

just fyi yall, i had the worst experience ever just now trying to cancel great wolf lodge reservation. DO NOT book this place unless you for sure are going and have no chance of cancelling. we have gone many times and never had to cancel yet but we had something come up and had to this time. They charge you $50 for cancelling even if it's months in advance. They also said it would take 10 days to get a refund....why? They also would not send me a receipt of the refund... that's wild.. Anyways just thought I'd share my experience and save you a hassle. I guess I'm going to get SOME of my money back at some point but I don't have a receipt to prove that so I guess I'll just hope and pray. read more

The good: clean, decent food options including Dunkin' Donuts for coffee for the mamas and papas, large indoor space with lots of activities including ropes course, waterpark, wand scavenger hunt game, arcade, putt putt and a large slide area for the kids. Staff are nice. Rooms are effective and clean. My son had a fantastic time (7 y/o) and the ambience is fun. This is also extremely close to nasa!!! The bad: the most overpriced arcade ever. I paid double for parking due to a a fluke in the system (it charged my arm band with charging privileges AND my credit card both days). We brought our family with kids the the lodge in Webster, TX in December of 2024. My wife woke up with multiple bites on her body that look like text book BED BUG bites. The following night we noticed more bites and reported it, showing pictures. My wife never left to property during our stay and it was clear that they happened in our room. They moved our rooms and sent a crew in to clean. This experience very much so changed the experience on the trip. It was very difficult to get through to a person at the lodge after, since everything is automated and the path of communication after you leave the lodge is very difficult. I eventually got in touch with a person who called me and then said that they would investigate and gave me a phone number to text. The person has ignored my attempts to contact them even after someone else on that text line gave me their email address. I have repeatedly tried to work on a solution with them, since we DO NOT want to recommend the Lodge to anyone without resolving the issue completely. I am very disappointed in the lack of ability to communicate with the Lodge since it is now May of 2025. It definitely feels like they have neglected the situation without a serious effort to agree on a resolution with us. Be aware that the lodge is more focused on getting people in the door, but after payment their attention to customer service is VERY LOW. We will not be recommending the lodge to anyone unless that culture changes. read more
