The drink options are also pretty slim but I go for the food, so that didn't bother me. The lady at the window taking our order was extremely friendly. She answered our newbie questions. I asked about the size of the quesadillas, which come in "gringa" and "minigringa" size. The menu isn't terribly descriptive but I was comfortable asking about items. The gringa quesadilla was served open faced and it had cheese, pork, onions and cilantro. My daughter and I flipped it over to make a traditional (is that a thing?) quesadilla, but not before squeezing some lime on the contents. The tacos were incredibly fresh and full of flavor. We squeezed lime over these, also. They were a smidge on the dry side but were served with green and red salsa that definitely helped to moisten them. A word of caution: the green salsa is really spicy! I thought the red salsa would have been spicier but I was wrong. Both had a great taste. My daughter and I both decided that the tacos were good and the quesadilla was even better. To repeat, the food was delicious and fresh, and that along with the service and value ($3 tacos are a good price these days), we will be repeat customers.

It's a food truck so I waited in my car and it came out fast. I would go back but I would ask them to put more beans in it next time. I also asked them if it came with tomatoes and then they forgot the tomatoes. I guess that's my fault for not checking before I drove off. They give you a red and a green sauce and I thought they were both really spicy so just taste them first.

There was also a seafood cook off and as much as I love watching cooking programs on television, watching them live is so much more enjoyable, so I was in for this event in the blink of an eye. So we arrived right before the doors were about to open and park (complimentary all around the convention center). What I noticed immediately was how many people were there standing in line. No less than 1000 guests on a big Tuesday night. Once the doors opened the line did move pretty fast. When we entered there was a table set up where they were giving away bags, hats, measuring spoons for your rice pot cher, fans and of course Tabasco products. I've noticed when someone is giving away free stuff there's a sort of mob mentality, fend for yourself, push a grandma out of the way to get some of the swag. It's crazy and me no likey. Once we escaped without getting trampled by the angry mob we got to business sampling food. Everything we tried was delish but here are some of my favorites- Charley G's Smoked Duck and Andouille Gumbo (OMG! The. Best!) The carne asada taco was okay, too many onions for me, but still quite tasty. Some would probably be intimidated to eat here because it is a run-down food truck located next to a gas station near the Home Depot of Coursey & Cedarcrest. The service was friendly and fast. Eating there is not really recommended because there are just folding chairs, no tables. I would say the food was pretty authentic and I plan on going back, especially for those yummy pupusas. This might not be your first choice, but at least make it a choice; step out of your box and try something new!

Everyone has heard about my deep rooted love and obsession for tacos and food stands, so I wanted everyone else in Baton Rouge to find out about this gem of a shady but delicious food truck! The meat is charred crispy to perfection, without being dry. The doubled-up HANDMADE a corn tortillas are definitely the best tortillas I have ever tasted. (Hmm, wonder if I can get a whole pack to go?!) The pupusas are delicious too, and come topped with a pickled cabbage. My friend did order the pork tacos, thinking it was carnitas, but it was actually chicharrones (pork rind) and we didn't like that one so much. I TOLD her to let me order for her in Spanish, but she insisted on the pork before I had the chance to people rly ask WHAT type of pork...... And yes, it's best to order in Spanish. Just say "taco de carne asada" (beef steak) and "taco de pollo" (chicken) and how may and you should be set. I usually order 3. They are small but very filling. I could literally eat these everyday. There are 2-3 chairs to sit out at while waiting for your order, and the wait time is 4-8mins or so depending on how much you order but it's so worth it. They even give salsa to go. Ladies, please wear your wedding rings (or a fake one while you order) because there will most likely have a plethora of men ordering authentic Mexican food, waiting to propose to any unsuspecting lady who just wants to get her foodporn on and immediately dash to the comfort of their own home to indulge in these tasty treats. It is parked at the gas station near the Home Depot on Cedarcrest & Coursey. Coming from bluebonnet (with the CCs coffee house on your left) you will cross over working onto Coursey, and it's the second gas station on the right. If you're in the Home Depot parking lot, the gas station is directly in front of the store.

The pork chop was cooked perfectly. It was juicy, incredibly tender, and honestly tender enough to cut with a fork. It had a great char from the grill that added so much flavor, and the pickled peppers on top cut through the richness of the pork perfectly. The dirty rice underneath reminded me of my mom's rice dressing and soaked up all the juices from the chop. It was one of the best pork chop dishes I've had. My wife ordered the smoke fried chicken, and it was also excellent. The crust was crispy while the chicken stayed juicy and flavorful. The sweet potato biscuits were light and delicious, and the pepper honey tied everything together nicely. For my taste, it leaned just a little on the sweet side, but it was still a very enjoyable dish. My daughter ordered the Social Cheeseburger with just meat and cheese. She loved it, and I was impressed too. Even with such a simple order, the burger was juicy, well seasoned, and served on a fantastic bun. She and my wife both could not stop talking about the hand cut fries. They were crispy, perfectly seasoned, and some of the best fries we've had in a while. From the food to the service, everything exceeded our expectations. We left very impressed and will definitely make a point to stop here whenever we are in the Lafayette area.

More specifically their flatbreads and loaded fries, which I do not currently see on their website. Most of the time they have loaded fries which in the past have consisted of gravies and sauces. One preparation we ordered came with pickled okra. The fried green tomatoes are also very good, especially to start with or share. As far as main dishes go we have tried the following: All Hail Caesar (Flatbread) Spicy Chicken Sandwich Smoke Fried Chicken-N-Biscuits Social Cheeseburger The Mac n Cheese is a must get as a side in my opinion. One of the first times we visited they had carrot cake as a dessert, we still talk about that carrot cake today. If you are a sweet tea lover this place has a twist which I love. Their sweet contains brown sugar and mint, get it, try it, it's delicious.
