First off I will say I ate here two to three times a week spending about $35.00 each time. Yes it's a little pricey, but for fast food it is healthier then hamburgers. Tonight I went there waited in the drive thru for 20 minutes and told they don't accept 100 dollar bills since they have received three fake in the past two weeks. I have owned several businesses so I explained how to tell a fake bill from the real. No response except "we don't accept 50's or 100's". Well I guess they do not want my business anymore as I will not be returning. It is not my or any other customers responsibility to train employees on identifying fake bills. We have been going to the one on Main Street in El Cajon and the one on Graves/Bradley for some years now and are glad that there is a new one closer to our house. Same setup, same menu, same pricing- just more convenient! Huge portions- I almost always get the gyros plate and my wife loves the salads and the chicken. The portion size on the chicken kebab meal was great and the taste was great! :) I ended up taking home a lot of it and had a great second meal reheated! I have eaten here and their other place in El Cajon at least 30 times. Everything is really good. The 1/4 chicken and salad is my go to meal, it comes with pita bread as well. The Gyro's are great, the hamburger is really good, all in all this place rocks. Super clean and great fast service. I wish they had a gyro salad somewhere between small and medium. Medium is just a tad too much for me. My wish is their command. They did a revamp of the menu a couple months ago. The small Gyro salad is the perfect amount now. AND... It has the same amount of gyro meat as the medium. Or so I'm told. remember, when on a diet, always eat the protein first. Anyway. I frequent the ones in El Cajon (next to the dmv) and the one in Lakeside. Both are great. BTW.. i did cheat and cut and paste my review from the other greek chicken review. BUT. First time here today. Place is all of the good things others Yelpers have said. Clean, friendly, helpful. The garlic bread is fabulously thick, the onion rings very nice and the deep fried zucchini sticks good also. The side salad is very large and tasty. The extras were so good the chicken actually was left for last. We found the lemon in the marinade had a little bit of a bite to it. But will be back. Pay the price, worth it. They can't get the order right. Double check it you usually have to swing back around.. if you don't double check it. They'll dig their dirty hands in your food and take out what they did wrong and give you what you ordered the first time and they give you attitude for making them fix and correct the order. Not saying sorry. So when you and if you go there make sure they get the order right don't leave double check and I mean literally double check. What is aggravating...They didn't believe us. They insisted on seeing what they gave us. As we are waiting long time there the other orders of food was getting cold!! the food we ordered wasn't even sitting there. They had to cook it they had no intent on giving it to us. Even if we said it three times through the speaker and on the window when we had to pull up. we waited a long time.... It was so frustrating because the other food in the car was getting colder and who wants to eat cold fries and cold gyro meat???!!!!. This place was a five star before, but it's gone down hill. Went there for take out tonight only to be sticker shocked at over $45 for 2 adults and 2 children. The soda was flat, and syrupy, the portions are smaller than they used to be. The gyro used to be bulging at the seams with deliciousness, however tonight it was skimpy and flat, also the meat was dry and tasteless. The small chicken salad used to be enough to feed 2, now the dressing was only half full and it came with considerably less chicken, which was dry. The fried zucchini was still the same but it's extremely cheap to make so no surprise there, the only thing that was "ok" was pastrami sandwich which has always been average at best. So in conclusion I was ok spending $10 more than last time I went here, but not ok with the skimpy portions and dry tasteless chicken. I ordered a gyro sandwich plain. I drove 15 mins home to eat, I opened it up to find it covered in tomatos and onions.....NOT WHAT I ORDERED and will not be eating it. I called to inform them of their screw up and I was told I would have to drive another 15 mins back to the restaurant with the sandwich to have a new one made. Not being compensated for my time or travel. I will be taking it back tomorrow when I'm closer and hope the manager will attempt to make it right....cuz that's good customer service. I have always driven by this place and wondered how it was. I finally decided to stop by and pick up a meal for the family. The menu was not what I expected. Greekish is what'd I'd name the restaurant. I ordered the whole chicken meal which was a decent amount of food and would feed a family of four one serving. The chicken was over seasoned in my opinion (I mean holy lemons Batman!) and I feel it was over priced for the side choices and amount of food. Always a go to place for us if we want fast food. Really delicious chicken and gyro meat. We usually get the gyro salad and a chicken salad. The only problem we've run into is that the amount of meat you're given in the salad varies each time and sometimes you do get very little meat in your $10 salad. This time we decided to dine-in at the Lakeside location. My husband opted for his usual gyro salad which has feta cheese, olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, gyro meat, with a side of yogurt sauce and pita bread. This time he got less meat than usual. I got the #2 meal which is 1/4 chicken, your choice of side (rice), and a salad. They gave me a delicious chicken leg, and the rice and salad are always tasty. We also got desert.. A small banana split which was delicious. The small comes in a cup with the bananas mixed in with the pineapple, strawberry, and chocolate. Really good and I think it was only $3! A tip: the chocolate malts here are our favorite. So tasty! What I really like about Greek Style Chicken is how much pride they take in their restaurants. The Graves and Wintergardens locations are always spotless and have friendly staff. The bathrooms are always clean. It's a comfortable place to get fast food from, I'm not worried about eating at a dirty table. Easy to get in and out of too, very short wait for food. read more

The food here is always prepared fresh and is consistently good. I love the fried Zucchini. A salad is always crispy lettuce and I love their ranch dressing. The chicken is delicious, a bit on the pricy side, but healthy because it's grilled and tastes oh so good. Recently discovered they have old fashioned mild shakes. Love them!! They offer Vanilla, Choc, Pineapple, Strawberry, and one or two other flavors. It's convenient to drive thru and not too long of a wait. Ate there for the first time the other day. What a great surprise! First, the manager and employees were wonderful. The manager waited on us and was super friendly, explained a couple of the items, and gave us a tasting of the gyro, which I thought was very nice of her. We ordered the gyro pita sandwich with a salad. Good thing we were splitting it, because the portion was huge! And both the gyro pita and the salad were delicious! While we were eating, a handicapped woman was trying to get her wheelchair in the door, and one of the employees ran over to help her. So I went today thought drive thru specifically said no tomato and no olives twice .. drive all the way home and of course there's tomato and olives I call back saying my order is wrong .. they tell me to they will replace it I go back a few hrs later for them to tell me they're just replacing the salad but with no chicken ?? The food is always great, except for when you go through the drive thru at 8pm and the employee tells you "sorry, we're out of chicken to make that meal." I only wanted 1/4 of chicken and fried zucchini, but the girl told me I could only order 1/2 chicken, which I did not want. I then proceeded to the window to pay which was slammed shut in my face while I waited 7 minutes for my chicken. Very disappointed with the girl that worked the drive thru, and she did not seem to be in a good mood either. Don't let the customer see your bad attitude. The best gyros, burgers, lemon Greek chicken, and the onion rings are the best in east county, and I look hard for great onion rings. For dessert the malts are rich and tasty with real ice cream. Pricing is worth the quality, and so is the slightly longer wait than most fast food, because I don't consider this fast food even though I go through the drive through. Food is great! Fast service in the drive-thru. They charge extra for everything...every sauce, etc. prices are a bit high but they give you large portions of food. The grilled chicken with the honey mustard sauce is awesome and so is the tzatziki sauce. read more
