Stopped by epic wings on Father's Day to grab a drink and some wings. I was greeted by a man named Brady. I haven't been to epic wings in a long time and was craving wings. Brady walked me through the menu and helped me choose a beer to go with my wings. Brady chose a liquid candy ipa for me to have and it was amazing! I ordered lemon pepper wings and fries. They were extremely busy but everyone had a smile on their face and was working as a team. As I was about to leave Brady told me to have a great day and he would see me soon. **Serious Concerns at This Epic Wings Location** Let me start by saying how unbelievably hot it is inside this facility. Employees are visibly sweating and struggling to work, with the AC reportedly set at 76°F while the kitchen area is reaching approximately 96°F. This is not acceptable working or dining conditions. Employees should not have to work in excessive heat, and customers should not have to sit in an uncomfortable environment while trying to enjoy their food. As I sit here, I'm watching customers leave because of the heat. That means lost food and alcohol sales for the business by the minute. More importantly, employees deserve a safe and reasonable working environment. I strongly encourage the owner and management to address this immediately and listen to the employees who are working in these conditions every day. I also believe the Epic Wings franchise should investigate what is happening at this location and ensure that proper workplace and employee policies are being followed. I also have serious concerns regarding the distribution of tips. I have been told that bartenders working outside in the heat and putting in long hours are receiving only a small portion of the tips, while kitchen and front-counter employees receive the majority. This Epic Wings location is huge!!! I've eaten at the Mira Mesa, National City, Anaheim and now this Santee location. Everyone here is super friendly and cool as well. I went to the bar as I waited for my takeout order. There were many beers on top and wine too. The bar patrons are easy to joke with. It was my first visit and it was one of those wow moments that felt really nice and like a local spot for sure! Epic wings are always fire! This is my favorite wing place. I love the lemon pepper seasoned bone in chicken wings. Today I also got the Epic rice bowl with chunks of boneless chicken with mild sauce. There was a lot of rice and not that much chicken. Not sure if I'd order that again. These bread sticks are so good. And the veggies are the perfect balance. This location is conveniently located. Plenty of parking. They also have an awards program so make sure to download the app to take advantage of the points for free food. There's lots of wing shops but this is my favorite. Went with a group of friends lastnight around 8-9 and we got some loaded fries which were cold for all of us, even the chicken was cold in the center but not like it wasn't cooked thoroughly, just as if the sauce was cold or the food wasn't warmed prior to dishing. Very disappointing experience. I placed an order right when they opened in the morning and specifically asked for it to be ready at the same time as my mobile order at 2:45 PM. Apparently, their phone orders and mobile orders are not synced, which was never communicated upfront. I arrived 20 minutes early, paid for my phone order upon arrival, and was able to pick up my mobile order on time. However, the phone order was not ready at all, even though it had already been paid for. When I asked for an update and how much longer it would take, the employee, Natalie, responded by asking if I wanted a refund. That response was extremely unprofessional. Why would I pay for food, arrive early, and then cancel it? I needed the food--not a refund. This whole situation showed a serious lack of coordination and customer service. This is my go to Epic Wings place I go to and depending on what days you go it can get busy. They have plenty of seating inside, the restaurant is big. They have plenty of TV's to watch different sport games on. Their tables are always clean. My go to order is the 4 piece chicken tenders in either mild or medium sauce, which comes with 2 breadsticks and some celery and carrots. Normal 2 or 3 strips fill me up. The pieces can me big and usually I just save the rest for later or the next day. Their call in order for pick up is fast and organized as well as ordering in and seating down. For all the times I have been here I have always had great service but recently when I went the girl at the front counter was really rude and was very disrespectful when she spoke to me when I asked her a question or when I had a concern about one of my orders.
