I want to leave a review here because the reviews I read before dining were misleading. The third star is definitely for the front of house staff - the girls were very friendly, hospitable, and kind! Other things that I appreciated include: a plentiful serving of walnuts in the salad, the taste of the eggplant dip in the grab and go fridge, and the freshness of the salad greens. Perhaps we did not order the right items! The beets, grape leaves, marinara, and salad dressing are all canned/bottled items. The vegan meatballs are also reheated frozen items and they don't taste good. The baked goods, yogurt bar, and coffee menu all looked very good! We didn't try any of those items, so I can't speak for them - but they say they are baked in house, and so those might be better options for dining here. read more

Really delicious gyros - lots of delicious chicken or pork, beautifully golden pita, good fillings. It looked like they had amazing baked goods but we didn't try any on this visit. They don't really have any sides although they said they can do a bit of a salad side. We also tried the yogurt with toppings and it was fabulous, the yogurt is so fresh and thick it was almost like mascarpone. Lovely little place to have lunch. read more

Moussaka was one of the best that I have ever had. My husband enjoyed his Chicken gyro, the tzatziki was so good! Came in from out of town after reading about gfg in a magazine and ended up ordering half the menu for lunch and the other half for dessert.

This place looked attractive so we stopped in for dinner. Mistake. It's overpriced, tasteless and for what we ordered, terrible. They stated they had authentic Greek food...unsure about that one. The lemon chicken Mediterranean bowl was in a plate; the chicken was chunks of tasteless, grizzled chicken. Other than the feta that came with it, I'm not sure how this was greek, but it was just not at all tasty. My fiancé ordered a pasticho that was burnt on the corners and not well seasoned, but to boot, inside the meal, a small plastic piece was found. We wondered if this was freshly made or just frozen and reheated. We can say that the staff did apaologize and refunded the (cash) money for this meal; they also replaced it with a sandwich...also bland chicken breast, missing the included cheese and brioche bread...just some fancier white. The grape leaves were ok. The $8 pb banana smoothie was also o, but grainy. Overall, dismal and a high priced deli, not really Greek, not really good. read more

Cafe Emis not only has consistently fabulous food but the owners and everyone who works there is stellar. They are like a family, are all incredibly friendly and bend over backwards to provide a stellar experience. I went to college in Boston and hung out at what became the premise of the television show "Cheers" and that is the feeling of Cafe Emis each and every time you walk in. There is so much to offer any patron from vegan options, breakfast, lunch, dinner, a loyalty program and desserts to die for...and don't forget the drinks both hot and cold. They are always adding new items to menu. Many items are imported straight from Greece including pita and the most amazing Greek yogurt like non other. It is sheep and goat milk and has all the probiotics you need for happy gut health. I've never, ever had a bad meal there and anyone who says they.have doesn't know stellar Greek food! This cafe is nice-looking but reviewers seem a bit starved to give this food such rave notices. You might need to curb your enthusiasm a little. We were surprised to find most of the sandwiches and salads had limited or no Greek connection. Maybe that makes sense for this franchise chain's ambitions. Then I spotted the gyro in the display and got that, while my wife tried a salad. Typical salad, good-sized, $12. The gyros come only in chicken or pork, no lamb; I had the pork, $8.99 and OK; but I get a better one from a good pizzeria down the street from us. Nothing comes with the gyro, btw, just the sandwich. There were spanakopita and a few other specialties available; we did not have room for more. Would we return? This is your typical bakery cafe with sandwiches, coffee and baked goods. Sandwiches and coffee are all your typical American sandwiches but almost all the other baked items are Greek. We are definitely coming back. The croissants we're out of this world amazing. read more
