Who knew that the restaurant in Crate and Barrel had one of my favorite salmons I've ever had? I sure didn't. I only ate there out of convenience because I was buying a new mixer and it was located in the store. The charred salmon was perfectly cooked and had hummus and fresh vegetables beneath it. I absolutely loved it. The waffle fries and aioli were the perfect starter. Very crispy fries. Delicious. It ended with the piña colada cake. A coconut cake with caramelized pineapple and ice cream with candied nuts. Omg it was so good. I was disappointed that they no longer serve the chipotle watermelon margarita, but they put gin in my watermelon Fresca and it was so fresh and delicious. The ambiance is great here! Very good for a nice cute lunch. The service was really good as well and our waiter was very helpful. We got: Curry waffle fries: 3/5 only complaint is I wish they were crispier. Another 1-2 minutes in the fryer would have made it amazing. Did you know this was the only Crate and Barrel with a restaurant? Don't miss a chance to go here if in the area. The inside is a really cool use of their furnishings and artistically designed. The outside seating is a little noisy but overall was very comfortable and not too crowded with a great view of the parade of people shopping at the mall. I would have also been fine sitting at the really cool bar. The food is California fresh with very clean options with quality ingredients that don't require propping up by over seasoning it. I had the turkey sandwich and greens and it hit the right spot especially after too many salty restaurant meals. The server was friendly and helpful. Definitely a solid 4 star but the ambiance and unique experience made me bump it up in my rating. read more

Having eaten here a few times thought it would be a great spot for my friend's birthday lunch. July 12, noon reservation. Seated inside in a corner. Gnats descended on us. Swatting them away the whole time. On our food and wine. Spoke to manager when paying and he knew about the gnats and said sorry and was rather nonchalant. Why seat us in that area if you knew of problem?! Paid bill and was given wrong receipt back. Left a review on Open Table. Director of Operations replies and apologizes. Asks for my email. Was going to send a gift card over for my trouble as a gesture to come back. Never have received anything as of today. I have reached out twice on Open Table to check in. No reply. The menu changes with the seasons, but here are some standouts ever recently enjoyed. * Waffle Fries with Aioli 5/5 stars- think Chick-fil-A fries, but better, crispy, flavor, and with a hint of spice that takes them up a notch. *Edamame Dumplings 5/5 stars- a fantastic vegetarian option, just as satisfying as a meat dumpling. Scrumptious and well balanced. *Roasted Tomato Goat Cheese 5/5 stars- a perfect starter, especially with a sourdough bread * Heirloom Tomato Salad (Seasonal) 5/5 stars- A must try in the summer. Came here on a random Friday night while shopping at Oakbrook center in luckily I did not need to make a reservation, but I did just in case. The place did not fill up which I was very surprised by as they have indoor as well as patio seating. Our server took a little while to warm up and finally smile, but he was overall pleasant and nice. Food came out very quickly, which was fantastic The chicken dumplings are pretty basic, so nothing to be overwhelmed or overly pleased with. The Caesar salad was absolutely amazing. It is a slightly different take, but it was still a true Caesar salad and I will definitely order it again. The cashew hummus was so delicious. I just wish they gave you a little bit more pita or more something to dip in it because it is a good size of hummus. The chicken Katsu sandwich was a unique take because it was drenched in a sauce, which was not typically the tonkatsu sauce it seemed like but it was still delicious nonetheless. The fries were amazing and we did opt not to have the curry salt, which made it even better. The aïoli for dipping was so good. We also ordered a lavender lemonade, which had a fantastic color and great taste. I would definitely be coming back here for the food. I just felt that she wants us to leave right away, she is checking if we're finished every 10 min. Till it gets so annoying. And we are still talking and eating our dessert. She said there is another reservation fo the table but there are other tables around. No restroom on the resto since you have to go upstairs on the store. Honestly what a cute little restaurant! We had some errands at Oakbrook so decided to stop by The Table for a late lunch. I had no idea this was owned by Crate and Barrel's until we had walked through the entrance. No wonder it is so darn cute!! Since we had our dog with us, we asked if we could be seated outside but they told us their outdoor patio isn't set up for the season yet. To our surprise, they let our mini goldendoodle dine in with us. I was in awe and so so grateful that our puppers was able to join in on such a cute dining experience. Given it was a Monday at 3pm, it wasn't super jam packed which I think worked out well for our puppers. They were super accommodating.. not only did the host bring him water but our waiter did too! For our meal, we had the c&b cheeseburger and chicken katsu sandwich. Both came with curry waffles fries. The curry waffle fries were the highlight of my meal. I loved the flavor and kick it had! Also can't ever go wrong with a classic cheeseburger. Portions were huge especially for the price. We don't make it out here often but when we do, we definitely will be back. We decided to stray from our usual Lettuce Entertain You affiliated spots at the Oakbrook Center and give this one a try. Honestly not bad. Opted for the Chicken Katsu Sandwich ~ Sticky sesame glaze, pickle, cabbage slaw, cilantro and nice side of curry waffle fries. A nice little spin on a traditional chicken katsu. Kid #1 went for the usual kids burger & fries and wasn't disappointed. Kid #2 happily enjoy whatever scraps were shared. Service I thought could've been better and more attentive. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. She helped us decide what to get, gave her protein swap recommendations, and would check up on us to see if we needed anything else. I ordered the Mediterranean Pita; roasted cherry tomatoes, pickled red onion, cucumber, avocado tahini sauce. It was very good! The chicken was savory and tasted fresh, and the hummus spread was absolutely delicious! However, I was quite underwhelmed with the small portion. I found myself quite hungry two hours later. It actually started down pouring while we were eating lunch, and as we were eating outside, we had to move. The staff made this situation as comfortable as could be, and since we weren't going to be walking around in the rain, I ordered an iced coffee. It was strong and had a robust flavor that I enjoyed. The Table at Crate is a nice place to catch up with a friend or have a girls' day lunch, perhaps a date as well. However, due to the portion sizes and higher price points, I would not be super eager to return. read more

Boy am I Johnny-Come-Lately with this place! I admit I don't go to the mall much which is why it's taken forever for me to check this out. The last time I was in this Crate and Barrel, the restaurant area was the section where I had once picked out my wedding registry flatware. But it makes sense that they would combine their concept of kitchen and dining home goods with a place where you can sample their use with tasty food and drink. I found that I wasn't sure if I was more drawn in by the food, or the deliciously beautiful glassware. The food is decent though, a nice spot to grab lunch while shopping. I got the CB salad and it was delightful. The beverages are great, you can see their assortment of gourmet lemonades enticing you from the glass urns up at the bar. We all sampled different ones and loved them. My mom raves about the tomato soup and gets it every time. And my kids were satisfied with their pizzas and devoured all of them! I can see myself dining here again. I think this concept was a good idea overall. Shopping and dining go hand and hand. Look at the Ruscello cafe over at Nordstrom or even the Walnut Room. They keep it light and breezy here so it matches the lightweight modern elegance of their products. Long version: The Table at Crate was a positive though enigmatic dining and shopping experience. I've dined here multiple times with friends and family. Crate & Barrel provides an effective dining setting that both the average C&B customer and professionals in the restaurant industry can identify with. A creative business strategy. The menu is peak modern American fusion with flavors from both Western and Eastern cuisine. Examples include chipotle watermelon margarita and dragon fruit spritz from the drink menu, heirloom tomato salad ("Greek") and waffle fries with madras curry sesame salted aioli from the appetizer/side sections of the menu, American cheese burger and gnocchi from the main dish menu, and banana bread and tiramisu from the dessert menu. I think the menu is intended to broadly appeal to diverse backgrounds and trending modern flavors (like the dragonfruit spritz - combining both a popularized Asian fruit with a take on the well-loved Italian classic drink, the Aperol spritz). The average CB customer can hopefully find something on the menu familiar and homey to them while still getting a taste of a modern, finer dining experience. These feelings are invited to spill over into the dining ware and decor that surrounds them. If they can see themselves at home with these items, that translates to more purchases for CB. I'm not in the restaurant industry, but I can see how the combination of the menu and the setting inspires someone who is through an immersive shopping experience. I would describe CB as more minimalist. It's trendy, but I wouldn't say it's for everyone. They do, however, use minimalism in a way that broadly appeals to customers. Their pieces are versatile and crafted in a way to suit many types of dining experiences and visions. The staff were friendly and service was efficient. My only wish was for a closer bathroom to the restaurant rather than having to climb the escalator to the nearest one upstairs in a far corner. I do appreciate the large amounts of natural sunlight coming through the windows. There are good views of the fountain and grassy play area. I'd recommend the katsu sandwich for that sweet and slightly spicy or the C&B salad. We went on a weekday during lunch time. Not terribly busy so we were seated immediately. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Perfect place for those shopping with their dogs as not many restaurants in the mall have the pet friendly option. My daughter and l Attended Chef Eric Adjepong tasting tour and I thought it was an amazing experience . The chef is cool AF, he greeted every guest, took selfies , and autographed each book he gifted to each guest !!!! The servers inundated the guest with appetizer's,!curried corn bisque, oysters with ginger/hibiscus,cracker's with pickled okra and cucumber and fried plantain. Along with that was a tamarind limeade cocktail. First course,( paw paw) salad was light, fresh, second course was duck leg quarter with sweet potato puree, delicious tender flavorful duck with a peanut salsa excellent, second course, jollof rice with garlic shrimp!!dam dam dam that was delicious. Wonderful space with beautiful decor. Fast seating and great team members. I was seated at the bar since it was just me. I had enough room without feeling shoulder to shoulder with another guest. The bar host was very patient with me as I experienced issues with my asthma upon sitting down. I ordered a strawberry peach lemonade with is make with some sparkling water. I'm not into bubbly drinks but it was pretty good. I also ordered Scotch and gingerale... they didn't have Basil Hayden but the alternative was even better. I also ordered chicken dumplings. It has a nice sauce on them and they were temperature appropriate. My main dish was gnocchi filled with cheese and roasted corn..I don't know if it was a puree or cream sauce but it gave the dish an excellent flavor with the crunch of the corn kennels. I visited here for dinner while enjoying a game room nearby. Parking is a large free parking lot for the entire shopping center. Upon arrival, I was very impressed as I didn't know this restaurant existed! We were sat at our table in a brightly lit area inside with a view of the patio. I really enjoyed the aesthetic of dining inside of a home goods store. The decor was unique and the server was great. For my cocktail I had the Dragonfruit Spritz which I loved. It was fruity and refreshing. For appetizers we had the lamb flatbread and smoked salmon Tartine. We really enjoyed both! The lamb flatbread was . For entrees we had the charred salmon and the branzino. The baba ghanoush on the lamb flatbread and the charred salmon, is immaculate. It made both dishes stand out. The charred salmon was my favorite. It was different textures and temperatures of food on the plate and they all complemented each other so well. The ambience at the table at Cree is impeccable. Definitely need to book a table before you plan your shopping trip to Oak Brook because it is super busy. The service was great and we were asked a couple times about our meal if it was good or not and it was super Delicious. I got the Ramen recommended by the server because it was only there for another week and the new strawberry basil lemonade which was delicious. We got both the mushroom and chicken dumplings for an appetizer and they were really good! I'm an Oak Brook mall lover when it comes to shopping, so Table at Crate has continued to be my #1 go to for a bite as a post-shop break I look forward to the Waffle Fries and Aioli every. single. time. It just couldn't be better. Spicy from the chili/paprika rub and IMO, perfectly crispy I will have to admit my one disappointment... they changed the historic Lemon Chicken Dish which now comes with a couscous instead of mashed potatoes. I've heard about this place and I had another restaurant that I was going to go to, but I thought I'd pop in and look at it and have a coffee. After I went in I looked at the menu and I decided to have a drink really good drink, it had candied ginger in it and I'm not sure what it was. It was on the menu but it was fantastic and then I ordered a smoked salmon appetizer and that was so good. I can't wait to come back here and try the rest of the menu. The service was excellent. A couple weeks ago I had lunch here (The Table at Crate). It was not a great experience - good food but the atmosphere was loud, service was ok, food was pricey - $4 for a small Diet Coke and no free refills. The General Manager reached out to me and asked if we'd give them another chance. We went back this evening and what a difference! Our server was super attentive, knowledgeable and kind, the food was amazing and our table by the window provided for a pleasant opportunity to enjoy our meal. I appreciate the service recovery and would recommend the Table at Crate to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Today is my birthday and my family ordered our dinner for take out we have eaten at almost all the restaurants in the area and this one was lacking ordered the katsu chicken sandwich the fries were hard as rocks...how can a place mess up fries? I spent $134.00 dollars sadly to say nothing was worth ever visiting this restaurant again. If I want healthy that tastes good I'd go around the corner and eat at Tru kitchen next time. I had the shrimp udon noddle dish. Very tasty but at $27 and with only 5 small shrimp it was not a great value. There was some kind of large party - bridal shower? in an area near where we sat. They were using a microphone which made it especially loud in the restaurant and hard to carry on a conversation with my table mates. The clincher for me was that I ordered a Diet Coke which came with an iced glass (nice touch) and a 6 oz bottle. I asked for another refill. Imagine my surprise when I got my bill and it was $4 for EACH of the diet cokes. That's ridiculous and I do not plan to return. read more

I visited the table in late June 2024 and had an absolutely wonderful experience. We started with the beef dumplings, which were delicious and juicy.
