What happened to this place?! This use to be a staple in our household and since moving we havent been for some time. Yes the lemon Rice Soup is still the bomb. Probably the best in the city but the chicken??? We ordered a large greek salad with chicken and the chicken not seasoned and very dry. We asked for no peppers and no onions but instead we would like a few more beets. You guessed it upcharge. In hindsight should have gotten the peppers and onion on the side and thrown them out. Three olives for a large salad was a disappointment Pita was sub par and flimsy. Other person order the Chicken Kabab and chicken also dry and not seasoned the rice along with beans were awful. You need to do better. The place was empty and I feel this restaurant has become a convenience restaurant. We will continue to get the Lemon Rice Soup but only as a carry out. read more

The staff is very nice and welcoming and that is a 5! The breakfast selections are what keeps people coming back. However, the Greek Salad with Chicken is underwhelming. I am comparing this salad to another Restaraunt in the area, so maybe I am jaded. The chicken needs more flavor, maybe it is not marinated? The dressing is flat, needs some bite, maybe lemon and salt? Maybe the other salads are better, like the Michigan Salad. The person I ate with enjoyed her breakfast, omelette and hash browns so maybe it's just me and the salad. My bf who didn't order anything had to go back the manager of the store a man screamed and swore at my bf yelling that nothing was wrong with the food and shouted at him to never come back to his store etc. I have never been treated so poorly by a manager or even an employee at any store. This is one of 4 or 5 Greek Island coney islands in the area. This location is what I would consider your typical Coney Island but with Greek food options as well. I have only ordered take out at this location because it is near my house and convenient. Every time I place an order they are always ready within 10-15 minutes regardless of what I order complete with all condiments cutlery napkins etc which is amazing!!! This trip I ordered wings and fries. There was a large portion and the wings were very crispy with lots of meat, very little fat. There is no sauce on them so you have to request ranch or BBQ. They do not have hot or buffalo sauce which would be disappointing if i dined in but i just use my own at home. The fries were just your traditions French fries, not soggy not crispy just regular fries. A great local staple for a quick cheap bite to eat! read more

June 25 I ordered a large Greek salad to go. What a disappointment! In the large salad there were four slices of tomato, three slices of beets, six olives and minimal feta cheese. Also the lettuce was chopped so fine you had to eat the salad with a spoon! What a complete disappointment. I'll drive the extra distance to the Greek Isles Birmingham restaurant where the quality of food and preparation is significantly better. In such a competitive market it's puzzling why this Greek Isles location fails to pay attention to detail. The attitude of the head waitress/manager is a whole other story. I have been ordering carry out and have been a supportive customer to this restaurant since it opened. my kids did not receive what they ordered and were extremely polite telling the waitress they ordered a smaller size salad and the waitress and OWNER were literally trying to intimidate them and called them liars. I then called and was absolutely shocked by the rudeness of the owner. Please think twice before going to this local business. I never even asked for money off just wanted to explain what happened to my kids and that they were really upset by the ordeal. You gotta get the pancakes. I have no idea how they make them so fluffy but they are simply amazing. And for a small extra charge you must always get chocolate or blueberry. It's hard to put into words but the pancakes are really a cut above. All their specials, especially breakfast are great. I've never had a bad dish. Lunch: their lemon rice soup is steal lad as would be expected from a Greek restaurant. And their Greek salads are one of the draws for this restaurant. A large Greek salad will easily feed 4 by itself. It is an about try delicious and massive undertaking. I also have to comment on their amazing Greek dressing. I've heard that people drive in 20-30 minutes just to buy the dressing to use at their own parties. It is a great dressing. The gyros are also spot on here. They take the pita and toast it until it's warm throughout and just a little bit crispy. This makes it perfect, especially when you use an awesome yogurt sauce. Also, if you're feeling lazy they can do carry out on anything, including breakfast. Staff is always great. Even when they are busy, they get to you quick and get the food out even quicker. DOREEN was very rude and obnoxious and gave the absolute WORST costumer service I've ever seen in my life. Being a business owner myself and owning a restaurant once before, I would never allow an employee of mine to speak or treat customers the way Doreen treated me. Absolutely unacceptable. I have been eating here for years. My rating is not based on the food but rather how expensive the prices have gotten. This evening I ordered an omelet with turkey and Swiss. Because it was past 3pm, there was an additional 1.50 charge for breakfast items. Add that to the close to 4 dollars they charged for the turkey, I ended up paying 13 dollars for the omelet. I could have gone to a deli, ordered the same thing and paid 5 dollars less. To pay that much at a Coney Island is outrageous. read more
