Unfortunately I was not a fan of this place. I hate giving bad reviews, but I have to be honest. I was driving home one night and looking for something open and seen this place on YELP so I said I need to finally try them out. They are located inside of a plaza and there is a lot of parking. The restaurant seems small, but the other side has seating I believe. I ordered their chicken shawarma bowl and it was 16$ which I felt was super expensive. But I wanted a bowl so I ordered it. None of my food was hot. My rice was lukewarm, the chicken was cold and the cauliflower was not good and cold. I wanted the veggies (zucchini, onion, carrot mix), but the guy who made my food said there was no more, but it looked like they were cooking it. He didn't ask if I wanted to wait so I felt rushed. The only thing I liked about all this was the potatoes. They were so good. I asked for beets and I got pickled turnips. They did put 2 beets but they were super hard. The chicken did not have much seasoning to it. And I didn't get a lot of it. It was so finely chopped that I didn't notice it. I did not finish my meal at all. I want to give them another try because the guy (maybe owner) was so nice. Like so pleasant and sincere. But the worker who made my food was kind of standoffish. I found this restaurant while driving. I didn't know of its existence through anyone or anything, just from the simple joy of discovery. Where I ended up at was one of the best Middle Eastern fast casual places ever. You can order from the entree menu or build a custom bowl to your liking. I ended up getting the mixed grill because I couldn't choose just one thing and washed it down with beet juice. For almost $40 I go hummus, pita bread, fattoush salad, and a ton of rice, meat and chicken. The salad dressing was the best I ever had for fattoush, the chicken/meat items were all perfectly tender and well seasoned. This was enough to feed 2-3 people easily, and there was not one thing from here I did not absolutely love. This will not be the last time I come here. I joined my family at Shesh Besh Grill after attending a graduation party so I wasn't very hungry at the time. But knowing I had quite a few more hours left in my day and the fact that I was traveling from out of state (Illinois), I decided to order something somewhat light. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap which was simple (just chicken, garlic and pickles) yet delicious. Most wraps have a thicker wrap but theirs is thin. The flavor was outstanding. I also ordered a cup of chicken lemon rice soup which arrived hot, just the way soup is supposed to be. Whatever spices they use really wakes up my taste buds. The service was great. You order your food at the counter and they bring it out to you. At first, the front of the restaurant looks pretty casual, like a fast food joint until you really stop to look around. Like the dining room, it has a very beautiful and brightly colored Middle Eastern decor. I loved their beautiful pendant light! I love just about everything about this place. Hole in the wall and counter service with a hidden dining room set up. Everything cooked fresh to order and the vegetables are high quality. Chicken shish taouk is perfect as are shawarma varieties. Hummus has enough lemon, toum isn't skimped upon, and I could eat here daily. In fact, I've eaten here 3 of the last 5 days as I'm visiting the area. You pay for the quality and quantity as a bowl here could very likely be two meal. 5/5 read more

First time at this restaurant where I was quite pleased with the Beef Shawarma sandwich I had here. Sandwich was well cooked, large , very tasty and in line with the best I have had in metro Detroit which is saying a lot considering the number of quality Mediterranean restaurants in the area. Also at $10 I consider this a steal based on the quality/tastiness of the food and the size of the sandwich. Relative to the facility they have an open kitchen providing a nice view as they prepare your food. The business also offers both indoor dining and take out where the indoor dining area is very clean and modern with an industrial vibe offering a very comfortable dining experience. Staff is quite friendly as well which is another plus. Overall this is an excellent choice for Mediterranean food and if you are a fan of this type of food you should defiantly give this business a try. You would think the best chicken Shawarma is in Dearborn. It's not it's in West Bloomfield and I'm so happy that it's right across from my house. I hate to admit that I do go once or twice a week and they do know me by name. They don't even have to ask who it is because they know my phone number. That's how good it is. They have some of the nicest people in there and they have a little back room where you can eat and it is so gorgeous marble tables a TV it's just somewhere nice to just sit down and have a meal with people or by yourself. read more

Upon walking in I saw a buffet of food for the workers to use to prepare food. I thought, oh no! I'm not sure how good this is going to be. After ordering and getting our food, I have one word. My shawarma sandwich was delicious!!! It was hot, fresh, and big! I couldn't eat all of it. The salmon in my sister's salad made us stop, pause, and reflect on how good life was for a moment after the first bite. The complimentary pita given was a nice surprise when eating in. It was plentiful, light, and tasty. The only thing missing was a side of sauce to have with it. It's okay because it was still good and not enough to knock off a star. My nephew's meal came with some grilled vegetables and garlic sauce. We ordered a side of fries for him to go with it, but all 3 of us devoured the fries. We are fry connoisseurs. I went here with my boyfriend today for a quick lunch, we were doing some shopping at Kohl's after. He had been here once, recently, and I had never been. I had the shish tawook (sp?) sandwich, which is basically chicken kabob aka white meat, and it was very good. At $8.50 or so, it's a little pricier than others in the Metro Detroit area, but there's a lot of garlic and it was tasty. He had the kafta Istanbuli sandwich and I immediately regretted not getting my sandwich on Turkish bread - it looked delicious and nice and thick. My bread was pita bread and was also good but not as thick. The chicken tasted very grilled which is not really my preference but you can tell it's made fresh. I saw they had a grilled halloumi (cheese) sandwich on the menu, which looked tasty for the next time I stop by, too. Overall this place was very good and I'd stop by again sometime. read more

We were staying at the nearby hotel and we were looking for a place to eat at 9 PM, most restaurants were closed, but Shesh Besh was open until 10PM. We decided to give it a shot! Initially the restaurant was unimpressive from the outside, but the food was as authentic and delicious as if you were in Syria. I ordered chicken Shawarma wrap $9.90 İn Flat bread, it was grilled to perfection. My wife ordered the Chicken kebab plate (Shish Tawook), it came with fattoosh salad. The grilled cubes of chicken were perfectly spiced, and tasted great. I even sneaked few pieces of her plate when she wasn't looking. We found this place a month or so ago while visiting the bookstore next door. We decided to make our way back here to try the food. It was absolutely delicious. I believe this space is in the space of the former Caribou Coffee, which I miss! It is a cute, rustic space, nicely decorated. It looks like a Pita Way with the assembly line of ingredients, but I am not sure if you can design your own bowls and sandwiches. The people working here seemed pleasant. It is a bit expensive for a mostly carry-out place, but we decided to eat here. I had the cauliflower. I got the small. It was so flavorful and delicious. It had a nice spice and I believe tahini on top. It tasted like something my child brought home and I had been craving, so I am glad I found a place nearby that serves it. My only regret was not getting the larger portion because even though I did end up with leftovers, I would have wanted more leftovers. I tried their loaded fries with chicken. It was amazing. The fries were so crispy and the sauce, cheese, pickles, onions, and chicken just added so much. I am craving it right now. I need to go back and get more. We tried their Shesh burger. It was actually so nicely done, with a tasty BBQ char flavor. We did try a sandwich, but my husband felt it was not as good as other places. Ordered takeout for 4 to enjoy on Mother's Day. Total was around 60$. My husband and dad reported that the location was easy to find, well kept, and inviting. I had the vegan sandwich, first time I've seen this offered somewhere. The potatoes were the highlight. My dad and husband each had a kafta sandwich, and my mom had the falafel sandwich. All our sandwiches were enormous compared to the size I've seen at most Mediterranean restaurants and very freshly prepared. We also got fries and a large hoummus which came with two sandwich bags of pita. Both hoummus and fries were delicious. Even better was the baklava, best I've had! The prices were pretty pricey (the entrees in particular) but also an up charge for the softer bread for the sandwich -- and the food just average in my opinion. A lot of the food that is served fresh you can see from the food line at front to see the range of foods they have to offer. Service was wonderful as the chef and woman at the register were patient and took the time to engage in polite conversation. I ended up creating my own bowl with chicken shawarma, radish, fattoush, tomatoes, rice, etc. My relative ordered the chicken wings entree with fries (which came with fries and potatoes), and a salad. We also added a baklava which tasted like a sweet shortbread cookie and honey which was exquisite. When we got home to try our food it was absolutely delicious So glad we found this place as it was a hidden gem. I definitely look forward to visiting again if I am in the Michigan area! read more

After leaving the dentist I was looking for a quick lunch in the area. Shesh Besh came up in multiple searches so I decided to give them a try. They are in the strip mall with Whole Foods and I never noticed them before. It was around 1pm when I went and I could tell it was near the end of their lunch rush. I felt a bit rushed to place my order, the cashier didn't verify if I wanted the sandwich or meal of the same name. When she gave my total I noticed she was charging me for the sandwich. I let her know I wanted the entree with rice instead. I sat at the front high top area to wait for my food. I was able to watch the food being prepared. The kitchen area was very clean and the staff took their time preparing each order. After about 10 mins my food was ready. I opened everything when I got home and was surprised by how large the portion was. The chicken lacked seasoning in my opinion but the rice was good. I wish more vegetables were included with the meal. I didn't care for the salad, the dressing had a weird taste. Overall, although the portion was large it was mostly rice. For $25 I would expect more chicken/protein. read more

Food pics from here look so appetizing. I'm hoping there's actually seating areas inside. I saw two ladies sitting outside in the cold eating their food the first time we drove by. It's only 58° outside, not quite warm enough to be eating outside. Additionally, they don't have any protection from the cold or heaters at all to eat outsKeeping our fingers crossed. The inside dining area is too small for our comfort with the people in and out for carry out orders. It's too cold to be outside, sadly. Will have to come when it's warmer out or when my husband is okay eating carry out in the car. It appears to be a fast casual spot. Small dining area to the left when you walk inside. My twelve year old raved about this place and he is not super particular but apparently they really impressed him during his last visit. I walked in not expecting much and walked up super satisfied. We started with a cauliflower appetizer that could have easily been served in a five star restaurant. Here it comes in a cute little pot. A very zesty and delicious starter. We ordered two different beef sandwiches and both loved our choices. We opted for the fresh bread. I believe its a dollar more and worth every penny. I could probably give this place five stars but the waitress/cashier was sour for some reason and wasnt really interested in helping us with the menu or clearing plates from tables that left.
