Early dinner on Saturday! We chose to eat on the "screened in" patio. Nice spot! Weather was great! Service was prompt and attentive. Started with Greek Salad. The lettuce was cold, crisp and the vegetables were fresh. Dressing was delicious. For the entree, my wife and I split the 2 Beef Skewers and added Greek potatoes. The beef was well prepared and the potatoes were "fantastic." We finished the meal off with a chocolate brownie. The portions were good size and big enough to share. Once again the owner came by our table to welcome us to the restaurant. Nice touch. The only "hiccup" is the parking is difficult. It would be great if they had a parking attendant on site to help. I tried it for the first time the other day for lunch. Passionfruit lemonade was amazing It tasted freshly made . I had chicken skewers with Greek potatoes. Chicken was delicious very flavorful and potatoes melted in your mouth oh so good! It also came with a Greek salad. Huge portions. Everything was so fresh. Variety on the menu was good. Great ambiance here! Parking is challenging but once inside love the vibe. We want to love this place but some bumps along the way. We ordered an app then later our meal and our meal arrived before our app. Not ideal. Our meal was ok. The calamari was ok. Not good enough to make us want to go back. We sat down and received menus. That was the last time we saw a server. After 15 minutes, we hadn't been given water or had our order taken. We spoke to the floor manager, who assigned a server. She said she was busy and would be back later. Another 5 minutes went by ... still no server. We got up and left. We spoke to the floor manager on the way out .. he just stuttered, but never even apologized. It seems the restaurant is run by untrained teenagers with no conception of service. I can't comment on the food because no one ever took our order. It will be a long time before I try this restaurant again. read more

It's called "Greek Tavern", but the menu is Greek and Italian (strike one) and for being a Tavern, they don't serve alcohol (strike two) and I had a gyro and the meat was dry, some dark colored pieces were extremely over cooked or been sitting a while and the tzatziki sauce was very thin and not too flavorable. The waitress seemed very irritable and super busy.My friend had chicken and that too was dry (Strike three). And in addition, trying to park at the restaurant was horrific. Came with lemon potatoes and small Greek salad! Lemon potatoes really weren't very lemony. Salad good but the chicken in the wrap was so very dry. Need to keep putting some dressing on it. My husband noticed this restaurant as we were driving through Gainesville. We were there for breakfast and it was delicious. We got chocolate croissants with our espressos and they were so good. My husband got a savory crepe with original gyro meat. I got the Greek omelette. Both meals were perfect. We will go out of our way to come back to try more food. Great service too!! read more

Overall this was an awful experience. First of all the parking lot is only half the restaurant capacity. Service was terrible. The server did not have an understanding of the menu, ingredients, salad dressing and stated they were having trouble getting their alcohol license. Ordered a spinach & artichoke dip as an appetizer. The serving was adequate but we were only given 10 small triangular pieces of peta bread. We ask the server to bring us more bread and she advised us we needed to pay for additional peta bread. We ordered garlic bread and it came to the table it was 2 small rolls with garlic butter brushed over it. The bus boy came to our table 5 or 6 times wanting to take dishes we were not through with. Salad dressings were tasteless. The owners son came to the table to address the issues and just said this is what all restaurants do. Over priced. NEVER AGAIN. We will not go back! Walked into the empty restaurant at about 3pm on Monday Dec 8. Host was seating an elderly couple, another young man was standing at the Host stand, five or six employees behind the counter standing together and chatting. Stood there for probably a minute without any acknowledgment, finally said hello to the young man at the podium, who was ignoring us, all he had to say was that the Host would be with us shortly while he stood there and ignored us some more. We stood there for maybe another minute and a half with no acknowledgment so we turned around and left. It's too bad that the other employees could not take the initiative to greet us. We've eaten there a couple of times and enjoyed the food and enjoyed speaking with the owner. Hopefully they can learn that they need to work together to greet their guests and provide good service. Super unfortunate that we couldn't get any service. The people at the front door make the first impression, luckily, we have eaten there before and know the food is good, but really rubbed us the wrong way to be ignored when the restaurant was empty. read more
