    Gyro Platter
    Yolanda M.

I knew when the young man that took my order was wearing a hair net - my food was going to be the bomb! I ordered the Gyro Platter. It was delicious!!! The chips that come with it are thinly sliced and remind you of a homemade potato chip only fresher. The gyro is not that thinly sliced meat you get every where else. It is some nice hearty chunks. I have enough for tomorrow. Everything was made to order! My order was for carry out. I wish I had gotten the young man's name He was SO kind. That was refreshing. He brought my order to my car when it was finished. Don't let the fact that this place is in a plaza with a Chevron station fool you.

One of my favorite places. The food is always fresh and served fast. I got their souvlaki chicken salad. So fresh and tasty PERFECT FOR THESE HOT SUMMER DAYS. I also had to get a piece of their baklava YUM.

I've been a customer of Mo's for a few years and have never been disappointed! The food is so fresh and flavorful and the staff is incredible! Don't let the location fool you - this place is legit!!!! The local, warm atmosphere inside the restaurant is a nice touch!

Wow loved my first experience here. The service is nice and courteous. They explain what's on the menu and give suggestions based on your liking. I tried the special mo's gyro with potatoes and my husband had the lamb sandwich. Both things were amazing and I will be definitely be coming back. The food was so fresh and reminded me of food I ate in Greece. So very authentic and delicious. They also have platters and salads etc. Their sitting space is set up nicely and the tables were nice and clean. They have decorations of Greece as well as some books on Greece traveling- reminded me so much of my trip to Greece. Love this local family owned business in Buford. A must try place!!!

I had an appointment in Roswell so figured might as well try it. It was early..like 12:30. On a Monday - it's located in a strip mall on Alpharetta Hwy. Ample parking. One of the owners greeted me warmly and asked if I'd been there before. I told him no I was here based on great reviews and pictures of the food. He brought me the starter plate( radish, walnuts, cheese that I imagine is standard.) He also brought out a small dish of humus and this homemade flat type bread - similar to pita but thinner and very tasty. I was alone so I didn't want to go all out and order several dishes..I got the chicken barg kabab- Without a doubt these were the most tender, most juiciest pieces I've ever had. Grilled vegetables were on the side. The rice was fluffy and the tahdig was perfection. Not sure if they had the alcohol license yet and I'm not a day drinker so I stuck with water. Restrooms were spotless. The atmosphere felt authentic with the assorted Persian rugs on display on the wall. You could tell they take great pride in their food and it shows. I have been raving about Sabou and telling friends it's a must go. I'll return with more people so we can sample more dishes. Not to be disrespectful but a friend took me to a competitor here in town that is very popular. Not even close as far as quality of food. It was average at best- I guess I will have to time my next visit according to traffic but I can't wait to return.

There's no formal dress code, so some tables were fully dressed in fancy outfits celebrating birthdays. While other tables were in sweatshirts and jeans. So just wear whatever you want. The small appetizer plate they bring out is good, I ate the flat bread with a hummus I ordered. The hummus is solid but I'd probably try a different dip the next time. I ordered the Salmon kebab plate. I was asked how I wanted my salmon cooked, and I said well-done. But how they cooked it was amazing! The salmon was fully cooked but still flaky and tender, and juicy. I found it flavorful enough, but there is a salt and pepper grinder on the table if you need it. It comes with a roasted tomato and a huge mound of saffron rice. I liked the rice a lot but it is a bit plain. If you want a more flavorful or interesting rice, you can add a different rice for $4. Those extra charge ones come with a lot more toppings like different nuts, herbs, or dried fruits. I'd like to try more different dishes next time, but what I was very satisfied by what I ordered. We visited around 3 PM on a Friday for a late lunch and were seated quickly. As a vegetarian, I was happy to see that they have plenty of options on the menu. We started with the yogurt dip with cucumber and the baba ghanoush, both of which were very tasty. For my main dish, I ordered the veggie kebabs, which come with saffron rice and grilled pineapple--my favorite part. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. They also offer lunch specials from 11 AM to 3 PM on certain weekdays, and we happened to arrive just in time to take advantage of that, which was a nice bonus. Parking was easy as well. Let's start of with how beautifully embellished the restaurant is. It's a refined fusion of modern elegance & old-world Persian heritage, that celebrates Persian hospitality & culture. Once seated you're gifted a complimentary starter Sabzi Plate that includes fresh herbs, feta cheese, walnuts, Castelvetrano olives, crunchy radish, and premium walnuts. It also comes with side of freshly baked Persian flatbread. We ordered a plethora of dishes. Our favorite plates were the hummus [we paired with the mushroom add on], lamb chops, and the Adas Polo rice. Trust me get the Adas Polo rice, it absolutely mouthwatering. As for beverages there is a variety of curated cocktails that we tasted but my top pick had to be the Tehran Mule! As for desserts our favorite was the Persian ice cream sandwich, it has unique flavors with rose being one of them. So good! For parking they offer a combination of valet services and validated garage parking depending on which location you go. The dress code is business casual. I ordered a simple Bombay martini and one of the specialty cocktails for my wife. The bartender made my martini in a shaker and I remember hearing him asking someone else to stir it for him. For the next ten minutes or more, the bartender proceeded to make drinks for the waiters, I remember him spilling out two drinks and remaking them while my martini continued diluting in the melting Ice. Ten minutes or more later, he pours my martini into more of a champagne coup glass than a martini glass, and I waited another five minutes or more for my wife to get her drink. When I tasted the upmartini, It tasted so diluted, just bad, almost commical to me. I just laughed to myself because i've tended bar for a living and that was about the worst martini i've ever had in my life. Either Rumi is watering down his booze or the ice melted so much that there was barely a gin taste in the glass. I think their gig is rather than give you a real martini level pour they dilute you with so much melted Ice that you think you're getting a full pour martini, when, in fact, what you're getting is half gin and half melted ice. And believe ME, you are charged as though it was a real martini. The place was pretty busy, so a lot of people must not have a clue... or just like busy places. If everybody says, this is such a great place, I guess it's gotta be. Unfortunately, that's just Atlanta-if it's popular everyone just assumes it's good or pretends it is. I don't do well with pretend. Next after being seated at the table, i tried to order wine least expensive wines (so overpriced)-they were out of all of the lower-end overpriced wines I tried to order. It just bugs me to overpay so much for bottles of table wine. They're barely twenty dollars charging, 60-80 for them. But of course, ten minutes after I ordered the wine, this happened twice, the waiter told me they were out of the ones i was trying to order ( everyone must have had the same idea). Oh well. Right before the table was served the main course, the waiter and manager came to tell me that they had run out of the dish I ordered. I ended up replacing it with their duck dish that I had never heard of before but what the hell I'll try it (maybe I deserve it, because I remember my father always told me you never ordered duck in a strange restaurant you don't know) Everyone else at the table of 8 were served their meals ten minutes before my plate arrived. i'm like, please go ahead and start without me. Then, the duck arrives. I mean, if you're such a Rumi's, fan, try the duck and tell me what you think. First of all, it was lukewarm for something that apparently had just been made. The lukewarm duck comes 'in" this purple sauce, I mean, it wasn't even swimming in the purple sauce-It was submerged in the purple sauce. The waiter, of course, later brought me the wrong type of rice than the one i oredered..That's okay they brought me a new one right away. I was really starving at the time, but if I hadn't been, I don't think I would have eaten any of the duck. Being submerged in a kind of a sickening, putple sweet sauce it just wasn't appetizing at all. Challenge: if you're a big Rumi's fan, go ahead and please try the duck, but you have to try it like I did- lukewarm temptation. Then tell me if you remain an unconditionalRumi's fan. The bread is delicious though. To their credit when I tried to order 2 glasses of red wine after my meal was served, they did give us the vin de table for free. I won't be coming back here anytime soon.

For food, I have tried complimentary Sabzi plate, Zafron Special, Grilled Chicken Wings, Khoresh Badenjoon and Lubia Polo. I will describe them detailly below. 1. Sabzi: sliced tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, walnuts, herbs, feta. Served with perfectly baked Naan 2. Zafron Special: an interesting app with mashed eggplant, diced mango, chopped green onions, herbs, and chili oil. Had a refreshing heat and sweetness. Perhaps the spiciest dish I've ever had in Persian restaurants! 3. Wings: I have tried the wings in Delbar, Divan and Yalda before, but Zafron's were just next-level. Perfectly coated in Saffron marinade, nicely charred, amazingly crispy skin and juicy meat. The side sauce was sweet and slightly spicy, whcih paired well with the wings. 4. Khoresh Badenjoon: Basically beef, eggplant and tomato stew. Compared to the similar items in Rumi's, Delbar and Sufi's, this one has the boldest flavor. It does not have beans (so good for a FODMAP control diet) and used lots of dried limes and (whole) cardamoms, which created a very bright, sour base. Compared to Rumi's and Sufi's version, this one also had more, and larger chunks of beef, which gave more texture when you take a bite. The eggplant was delicious, but I wish it could be skin-on like the one in Delbar. 5. Lubia Polo: Basically green beans and diced beef cooked with rice. I only had Lubia Polo in Rumi's Sandy Springs before. In comparison, this one had more beef, and slightly less salty, but did not have as much tomato paste. **Note** the comparisons are only for the purpose of a clearer description of the dishes. For service, the waiting time for both food and check were reasonable, and the staff were all friendly. During my second visit my server gave me 0.5lb of baked naan and extra Sabzi when I asked for a to-go box for just the leftovers... For vibe, it was quieter than many other popular Persian restaurants (but I like more noise haha), and thus walk-ins are possible. The trees inside the restaurant were beautiful. In short, highly recommended. I will definitely visit again to discover more dishes!

While I didn't grab them this time, I'll definitely be back for them. I opted for the Pistachio Cream Croissant, which was calling my name the second I walked through the door. It took a little bit of time to arrive, but it was absolutely worth the wait. I suspect they might have even baked it to order! It was the perfect sweet treat without being overly sugary, which is a massive plus in my book. The pistachio flavor was spot on. It was incredibly rich, nuanced, and tasted completely authentic. I paired it with the Hibiscus Tea, which was, quite literally, something made of dreams. Again, it had that perfect balance. It has just enough sweetness to elevate the drink without overpowering it. You can really taste the true, floral notes of the hibiscus. Beyond the stellar food, the vibe is just right. We saw several other groups come in and settle into the space to enjoy their treats, making it a great place to catch up with friends. I'm already planning my next trip back, and mark my words.
