I've been a few times and as a Greek, enjoy this restaurant. The restaurant is clean, and the decor is authentic. I think the menu offers quite a bit and overall the food it tasty. The one thing I would offer as constructive criticism is really watch the amount of dry oregano you add after the fact. Most of what we received had more than a dusting, which isn't pleasant with dried herbs. (Note, I love oregano and cook with it all the time. This was just excessive). The other thing I would note is there isn't that spirit of hospitality when you are there, which is what the Greeks are known for. Service was I'd say a bit below average- for example, we ordered a bunch of appetizers, and were done with quite a bit of it. When our food came out the waitress tried to deliver all the food on an already crowded table. We had to ask her to remove the dirty, empty plates first. We also had people run out of water, and she never came back to refill. The other thing was it was clearly a celebratory dinner. It would have been nice to at least ask what was going on. Not looking for anything, but typically a server would at least chat you up. All that said, we will be back and recommend this place to others. Would just recommend tasting the food before it does out to make sure its not caked with dried oregano, and bring a little more of that Greek spirit to the business. read more

I live in Charleston and we have no good Greek restaurants anymore. So while staying in Greenville we found this place and it did not disappoint! It's in an adorable downtown area with street parking and a car park right around the corner. The owner greeted us and he was very friendly and made us feel at ease when I asked if our car would get towed we parked in the parking lot across the street. Our server was so seeet and suggested the sampler platter for us to share. It was HUGE. It had Gyro, pita, mousaka, pasta with Bechemel , some spanakopita, stuffed grape leaves and we shared a soup and Greek potato's . The tsaziki sauce was homemade and delicious. Still a favorite! Shared a slavaki plate and the combination plate. Already wrote about how amazing these are, and six months later it is still wonderful here. But we also had a custard pie and baklava! Both very honey sweet and a highly recommended end to your delicious meal. The service was still good and friendly. Very disappointing, I had salmon which was dry and over cooked. (I had ordered medium rare) :-( My husband ordered pork kabob, also dry and overcooked, the sides of greek potatoes and zucchini where so salty and also dry. Neither of us could finish our meal. Absolutely fantastic from the greeting to the wait staff to the service and food and departure. I mean 100% TOP NOTCH! The food is out of this world. We got a variety of items and all of it was delicious. What stood out for me was the hummus and feta app and the stuffed grape leaves. I swear I could have just kept eating and eating. The staff was incredible - we were warmly greeted and seated immediately. The server genuinely wanted to serve us - was very helpful with the menu and addressing questions. Ever since Old Town on King St closed (Charleston, SC residents should know the place) I've been CRAVING Greek food. Just when I thought I would never find an adequate replacement I stumble across Greektown Grille in Greenville, SC. Now that is a bit of a drive for dinner if you live in the Low Country, but you must stop if you're in the area because the food is hands down the best Greek I've had...ever! Service was attentive but not intrusive, allowing my wife and I to fully enjoy every bite. I simply love this place due to the quality and authenticity of their Greek food. I have developed an addiction to their feta and olives with pita appetizer. I won't list all the dishes I've tried but it's most of them so pick your favorite and it'll be great. Even the simple Greek side salad is off the chain. The food was great on our first visit today. I've never tried grape leaves stuffed with rice (dolmades) before and I really enjoyed those. I got sauce on the side in case I didn't like it. The makaronada was really good and I can only describe as like a grown up version of beefaroni with longer noodles. I'll be back for that. and it came with a side and a salad. Couldn't eat it all. What a fantastic Greek restaurant off the beaten path in Greenville! A short walk from the main drag we found this awesome Grille serving up authentic Grecian cuisine from Yaya's cookbook. The octopus was tender and wonderful, needed a little more salt, but there was some on the table, the application of which pulled the flavor to the front! Our foursome decided to order this and a sampler platter and a side of hummus. The hummus was creamy and delicious. The sampler had spanakopita, which I've never been crazy about and always wondered what the allure was. Now I understand! This was not frozen doughy pies. This was homemade, cheesy deliciousness! The stuffed grape leaves were not out of a can as is often the case elsewhere. Got some of the lemon chicken soup to take home, which just as I suspected was amazing. Fantastic spot! read more

Had heard and read great things about Greektown Grille on McBee. Happened to be in the downtown area and stopped in for a mid afternoon lunch. The setting is calming with nice dark woods, ceiling high windows, a separate bar and Greek deco art. As for the food, we kept it simple with Gyros; one chicken and the other a steak and lamb combo. The entrees were hot and the chicken gyro was quite tasty with nice chunks of white beast meat. As for the steak and lamb choice, both were the shaved meat versions which I simply don't find very appetizing. I did not expect such offering at this level restaurant. But a lesson learned; always inquire. We were one of three tables in the restaurant during non-peak Saturday hours. It's always nice to have a typically crowded restaurant to yourself. Two servers were working. For whatever reason, the server we had struggled in providing prompt and cordial service. I'm not sure what that was all about. Great service can make up for a lot of things in my opinion. Overall, a good place to try, but better options are available. read more

My friend, who has been to Greece, approves of the food's tastiness and authenticity. I especially loved the Greek-related decorations in the restaurant! This used to be a great place but they are not interested in how the food is cooked anymore. We have been a regular in-place and takeout customer. The last 3 take-out orders of several different dishes have been very disappointing. The problem is that everything is over-cooked. The lamb burger, the lamb chops, the octopus, the squash, the shrimp, and more. When we told the management about the problem, every time the response is, "Thanks for letting us know." No further action of offer and not improvement on the next orders! We do not think they care. The staff is great and has a wonderful attitude. They cannot control the kitchen. read more

I stumbled upon this place today and had a lovely late lunch there! The server was friendly and attentive, the outdoor seating was perfect on a fall day, and the food was top notch. I can't speak to the whole menu, but I ordered a Gyro salad, and it was perfect. - imported feta, excellent gyro meat, delicious salad dressing, and everything else you would expect from a Greek salad. The size small was $10 and was the size of a normal entree salad most other places - plenty large enough and plenty of meat on it. I can't imagine what the $15 size large would have looked like! We love Greek food and have been to lots of restaurants, so we know what good food should look and taste like. We ordered and waited a long time for our food. When it first came out, it looked good. We ordered the gyro With the sauce on the side. When we opened the pita to put the sauce on, we could not believe what they put in the sandwich. The meat was completely dried out and burnt. There was a tiny amount of lettuce and no onion. If we didn't ask for the sauce on the side, we would never seen what they were trying to get away with. We showed the sandwich to the server and were told that was the way they warmed the meat. This is not a cheap fast food restaurant. They should know what to do. Don't waste your time and money. Really does not deserve one star. read more
