I immediately liked the atmosphere when I stopped in for dinner on a Friday evening. I went with the Pastitsio which came with a side and I got the potato salad. The food took a little arrive but it was fresh and the entree was super hot. They also offered to bring my side first if I preferred. Service was really friendly and attentive. It's on the pricier side for dinner but not outrageous. They also serve lunch. I had a great meal and would recommend this restaurant. read more

We arrived a bit early for our Valentine's/Anniversary dinner. We were seated right away. Our waitress was cheerful, genuine, and just a lovely person. We ordered some cocktails and explained that we were not in a rush. The cocktails were excellent! As we were finishing our drinks, the waitress arrived and asked if we were ready to order. My wife ordered moussaka and I ordered shrimp Santorini. The food arrived promptly and was hot. It was very well presented but more importantly, it was absolutely amazing! I've been going here a few times a year since they opened a while back, and every time is amazing. The dishes are cooked to perfection. The drinks are delicious (bartender has also been there forever and is a really nice guy). The interior decor is beautiful. Honestly, was a bit disappointed after being recommended this place. We ordered the Greek fries (no onions), and the feta balls. First off everything was unseasoned and lackluster, the food was not even hot. The feta balls were drenched in honey and too sweet, not to mention the pistachios were stale. The Greek fries were placed on the counter with onions and the waitress corrected this. We witnessed the cooks pick off the onions with their bare hands. The tzatziki was flavorless and the fries could have used some lemon and possibly salt. Really disappointed. Our waitress was great, the food was lackluster at best. Oh My God! What an awful experience. I'm seed oil free so I called to ask if they can accommodate. We arrived at the restaurant and they were willing to cook me a dish in olive oil. The food was mush, over salted and way too rare. Okay it was really nice of the chef to make me dinner so I didn't complain. When I got the check the manager charged me double for the entree that was on the menu??? 69$$$ for a 34$ dish? My first visit. There was only one server working so it was a lengthy wait to get our order. My son had a Gyro and I had Lemony Chicken and Rice soup with a name I'll not try to pronounce. The plenteous bowl cost $6.00. The soup was not as hearty as I had expected abd the bits of chicken were small. I prefer large chunks in soups and stews. My son said his Gyro was good. The French Fries that accompanied it were really really good. The facility was clean, with very industrial decor, and bright. There is outdoor seating but on a blustery December day we opted out. Our server, Morgan, was full of personality. There is free "first floor retail" parking as well as well as a lot behind the buikding. Although the restaurant fronts N Main St, there is NO street parking. There are a couple of curb cuts that will take you to the parking areas. read more

I have eaten at Ji-Roz many times. It is a neighborhood restaurant for me. I was so disappointed tonight. I am wondering if they have changed chefs... or owners. Moved to the area recently and had to try this place out. Service was awesome and food was just as great! Often chicken can be dry or dull but the marinade on this chicken was amazing. Super flavorful. The Briam was a tad on the salty side but not enough to make me not want to eat it. It balanced out well and the flavor combo was perfect! When I say I come once a week...I come once a week. I have gotten all the gyros, the lamb burger, and a shrimp dish, and all have been amazing. The gyros can be a tad bit greasy but nothing too off putting. They did recently increase their prices, which made me a bit sad, as the low prices are what originally attracted me to them in the first place. Decided to try something different. Haven't had Greek in a while. Ji roz on N. Main St sounded promising. The entrance is on the back end instead of the street side. Must say we enjoyed the food. Calamari appetizer prepared just right with minimal breading and not overcooked. The lamp chops were excellent. The pastitsio was very nice. The bechemal topping is just so buttery rich. Most recently I ordered the Village Salad, which is light & filling--perfect for a summer lunch. In the winter (or anytime it's less than 70 degrees) I order the Avgolemono soup. We always love jiroz! We can walk it's a go to neighborhood spot but we got it Togo tonight and will never do that again!! The size of this soup is a joke! There are maybe 5 bites in this tiny container. Probably half (at the most) of the size you get in the restaurant. And the salad is like a half portion. This is not $30+ worth of food right here. Plus we called it in and we're told 30 mins but we came in 20 because how could it, and it was waiting at the front door-soup is cold. Been wanting for so long to try this place . Very nice atmosphere inside with good parking in the back or on the street if not a busy day . Ordered the wood fired octopus , I was not really wowed but not bad , shared this small plate with my 3 colleagues . The chicken rice lemon soup was average , my own recipe is so much better . The "the biggie fat common " gyro was good but needed more tzatziki sauce . Waitress was very kind enough and brought me more , then it was a very good gyro after the addition . The fries that came with the gyro was 5-star all the way . Service was superb and all other restaurant personnel were so friendly and accommodating . My husband and I were visiting Greenville and decided to try this restaurant since it seemed like authentic Greek food. We were not disappointed! We both had the Common Gyro and it was absolutely fantastic! I attached a photo, but I'm not the best photographer so the photo doesn't do the dish justice. The tzatziki was delicious also! The staff was very friendly and very attentive. The owner, John, was very engaging and we had a great conversation about the area. To top it all off, we enjoyed the Ek Mek (not sure if spelled correctly) and it was the perfect ending to a delicious meal. Thankfully, we had a long walk to our car because after all that food, we needed the exercise. Greenville was an incredible experience and the hospitality shown at Ji-Roz made it even more so. Have visited Ji-Roz twice now. The restaurant is in the building at the corner of main and stone avenue. Parking was plentiful and free on both visits. A multi-tier garage option sits adjacent to the restaurant at the back entrance off Stone. Four of us visited. The entrees selected included some non-traditional offerings such as pork chops, 1/2 baked chicken and lamb chops in addition to a fan fav, the chicken gyro. In summary, our waiter was on his game. Drinks were prompt and checked often. The house cab wine proved delicious and reasonably priced. The baked chicken was succulent and tasty. The lamb chops were basically cut up leg of lamb and they were awesome. The pork chops were huge. Make sure you are hungry before you take these on. The atmosphere is open and fresh. A couple TV's add interest without overwhelming. The complimentary bread is tasty and filling. The bar is inviting. If in the area and looking for a restaurant that has proved consistent (on two visits), look no further than Ji-Roz. I'll be back for sure. read more

We had a really great dinner experience last night at Ji-Roz. Started with the zucchini appetizer which was very tasty. We had no intention of eating it all but it didn't last long. We both had a fish dish main course, salmon and whole branzino roasted over an open fire. The branzino was outstanding, really special. Reminded us of our vacation in Spain a few years ago. Excellent food , authentic Greek tastes with great service and variety . I have had burgers , gyros and wraps and a spread sampler which was unbelievable!The seasoned fries are incredible too. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to try the buffalo chicken wrap , it's the added touch of crispy marinated skin that sets it off. LOVE THIS PLACE! The chicken and pork skewers are EVERYTHING! I haven't had protein packed with so much flavor in a long time. The food is so flavorful, seasoned perfectly without any sauces. The proteins were so juicy, tender, juicy, and tender...did i mention juicy and tender?! No dry, rubbery chicken here. I am also pretty sure they are Whole 30 compliant. I ordered Ji-Roz for a catering order for a baby shower. I am so glad that the owner, John, informed me that the skewers were about 4oz each because I didn't have to order nearly as much as I thought. Our guests were drooling over the food. So... we wanted to go to Ji-Roz for sometime and finally we went and it was great! We went in a time when some staff were on break or something like that so service was a bit slow in the beginning but the gentleman who was there did a great job tending to all tables as soon he was free. Never an empty glass! That's is top for me. We ordered the chicken skewers with regular fries, the grilled cheese with zucchini fries, and the grilled lamb melt with zucchini fries. We enjoyed all the food ordered. I must say the marinade on the chicken was awesome and made the chicken so tasty and juicy!
