Company acts like it's out of business as of October 20, 2025. My experience with them started out well: they replaced my 2005 Prius' hybrid battery in my driveway in June, 2022, quickly and competently, with a purchased lifetime warranty providing extra peace of mind. Other issues with the vehicle kept it out of service until March, 2025, when I started using it on my 100+ mile weekly commute (sigh) and soon saw the red triangle of death related to hybrid battery issues. It took quite awhile to get any response from them, but my warranty claim was accepted by email on June 19th. Things have been downhill ever since. It took six weeks to get a warranty installation scheduled for July 30th, but no one showed up. Text messages later claimed that the installer had found the replacement battery he was carrying was no good. Earnest promises were made to get a good one out to me soon, to no avail. On August 8th, I received a form letter from them claiming that they were having problems getting used batteries to rebuild and promising that "Your replacement is expected to be fulfilled within the next 6-8 weeks." It is now almost 11 weeks since that letter went out and I have heard nothing since. Their warranty number is no longer answered nor accepting phone messages and even their sales office was said to be closed ("please call back during business hours") at 3:20 PM Eastern Time on October 20, 2025. I expect they have closed up shop but I am still hoping that my rumor of their demise will prove to have been exaggerated. read more

If they refuse to handle the accepted warranty claims from their bad product then we should just file a class action lawsuit. Clearly there are many of us. I filed my claim 6.17.25. It took them 2 weeks to accept the claim. It's now been over an additional 6 weeks since it's been accepted. I can only imagine how many other cases there are that haven't posted a review. My car hasn't been driven in 2 months. This can have lasting damages to the car. I've driven endless Ubers, and it has put a strain on my day to day. They wont answer your calls after letting it ring for 45 minutes. They wont respond to most texts. If you send an email requesting a solution, they won't respond. read more

Installation was great in 2022, the problem is when its time for a warranty claim. Warranty claim was approved August 11 as of today October 1st STILL WAITING on replacement. Installer was scheduled to come September 29th NO ONE showed up or called. I have filed a report with BBB and will continue warning people. Do not be fooled by the quick installation because again if you need to file a warranty claim they will play games with you and keep stating its a shortage. Also do not waste your time calling NO ONE answers just a machine. And do not respond to my complaint with the warranty portal, my claim has been approved I'm waiting on the company to install the replacement. read more

TLDR - Do not use this company, they have terrible customer service and long term will be a waste of money. Read below for details. If you need your Hybrid Battery replaced, stay away from this company! If you look at RECENT reviews, you'll see the majority of them are terrible, and there is a reason for this. I first used Green Bean 3 years ago and there were better reviews back then. They replaced the battery in my mom's Prius and I opted for the LIFETIME WARRANTY. As others have mentioned similar stories here, the first battery failed after a few days. They quickly came out to swap it out. However, back then they were more responsive and efficient. Not anymore. As others have mentioned, you will NOT be able to get in contact with anyone at Green Bean like a normal company. They will only take your call if you are buying something from them. They are a ZERO in the customer service department. So when my mom's battery failed after 3 years, I couldn't get a hold of anyone and had to fill out the warranty form online. Because the car could not drive at all it was at a repair shop. Now, on their warranty form it clearly asks to list a primary contact and states "This is most often the installer, mechanic, or shop or store representative who is working with us to resolve this claim. While not as common, this may also be the vehicle/product owner." So naturally I filled out the form with the shop information and I listed myself and my mother as the owners. I was then finally contacted back but told they don't work with shops directly. The complete opposite of what is said on their form. Can someone explain to me why on earth the form would be listed like that if they don't want the shop info? So now I had to go back and fill out a completely new form, this time leaving off the shop info altogether. Now I will say from here my warranty did get approved after a few days as I had all the info and diagnostics from the shop. However, I was told it would take 4-6 weeks due to battery shortage, and my mother would not be able to go that long without a working vehicle. So we ended up having the repair shop order a battery and install it, which all took less than a week, even with the battery coming from out of state. So clearly the shortage notice was BS. In the end, Green Bean scheduling contacted me and it turns out the new battery could have been replaced about 2 weeks after I submitted my warranty claim. But it was too late. Had Green Bean had better customer service and given me a better idea of the TRUE time frame, I could have saved $2,000, which was my original intention when they scammed me into buying their lifetime warranty. I suspect between the debacle with the warranty form and them claiming it would take 4-6 weeks, they use these tactics in the hopes you'll lose your patience (as I did) and go with another company. Once they have your business, you'll never hear from them again. Be warned. Stay away! Go to any shop like I did and have them replace your battery. By the way, the shop owner told us himself that the Green Bean Battery was poor quality, unlike the one he got for us. I did ask Green Bean if they would send me a new battery anyway since my failed one was under warranty. Surprise, surprise - no response. Any normal company would offer a rental car or a stipend or something if expecting their customers to wait that long. It is clear that these tactics are used for the company to cheat its customers. !!Run away!! It has been 4 weeks since initiating a warranty request with no end in sight. They have the worst communication with several hours on hold over multiple days by me and the car shop who installed these regularly. After waiting a long time on the phone they just hang up without answering even though they are supposed to be open. I have been more than patient. I can't drive the car or reset the codes because it would void the so called "warranty". They can't even provide an estimated repair date, which is completely unacceptable. This is gross negligence from what appears a bait and switch company. Now I am stuck waiting on Green Bean instead of moving on with a repair from a company that actually cares. read more

My initial experience buying a battery was good. I got it installed and the tech was fast and helpful. However, the battery only lasted about three months before it needed to be replaced again. This would not be a problem if an install could be scheduled to replace it due to it still being under warranty. I have been waiting WEEKS with no end date in sight. They keep saying shipments are delayed and it is impossible to get anyone on the phone (it goes straight to voicemail). Extremely disappointed in this experience. Just wanted to share my Green Bean Battery experience here. I should have done more research and looked more closely at the real reviews before trying to make a purchase. Overall customer experience: 0/5. After waiting over two weeks for an appointment, I finally locked in a date. I took time off work just to be available for the appointment, and then I was stood up the day of. I wasted both my time and my leave from work. I called and sat on hold for an hour, and all they could offer was a new appointment even further out -- no real apology, no consideration for the inconvenience. Given the failure to uphold the original appointment and the poor customer service, I asked for a refund so I could go with another service. I still haven't received a refund. I really wanted to give this company a shot and was as patient as I could be, but they completely lost my trust. I've since read countless reviews about how difficult it is to exercise the warranty, which they quietly cut down from lifetime to just a couple of years. If a new customer has to wait nearly a month just for the initial service, I can only imagine how bad it is trying to get warranty support later. I think this company is dealing with serious staffing and logistics issues if they can't even properly service new customers. Please, if you're considering getting a new hybrid battery, go with a local service or just buy new. Pretty much any other option would be better than Green Bean. Do your research, and look into all the reviews -- not just the ones hyping up the old Green Bean before it was bought out by OKQ. read more

Horrible communication. My fiancé has been trying to get in touch with them for weeks to get our battery replaced. He paid for a warranty with his previous battery from them and they said it can up to 3 weeks to get a new one with through the warranty but if we wanted to just buy a new one to get it now they will give us a discount???. So clearly they're trying to get out of giving us one because of the warranty. Their business hours are till 7pm but whenever we call it says they are closed. Or whenever we send a text or email we get an automated message back or no response. We have a 1 year old and no way to transport her right now because we don't have a car. It's putting a major amount of stress on us and it's really frustrating when he paid for a warranty but they're trying to just sell us a new one and when we said no. Green Bean was fast to service a 2012 Prius C. An extended warranty was purchased. Battery was replaced on February 2024 and failed July 2024. They refuse to honor their warranty. We have followed all warranty procedures and they still refuse to replace the battery. All they want to do is sell batteries and sell a warranty but never replace a battery. We have a 2007 Camry Hybrid. The original battery lasted 14 years! After hearing Toyota wanted $4000 with a one year warranty, we found Green Bean Battery. For $1739 they came to our house and replaced the battery, with a lifetime warranty. Then about 2 years later it went bad. They came again within about 4-5 days and replaced it...no charge. Then, 2 years later, the battery failed again. Once more they came within 4-5 days and replaced it...no charge. Now, 2 years later, it failed again!? We've been approved for our claim, but it's been 17 days since approval. They told us 10 to 12 days. I've emailed and called and the response was that if we email them again, we'll get bumped to the back of the line?! No one will answer the phone, have to leave a message. They don't get back to me. Starting to think their full of sh**t, and won't honor the lifetime warranty we bought. So sad that we would have given them a 5 star rating, but now I'm down to a 3, heading south. At the very beginning they were fantastic and we referred them to everyone. We run a fleet of about 300 hybrid vehicles and we went to Green Bean for all of our hybrid needs. As time went on they got bought out by LKQ. We assumed they would only get better since LKQ is a huge nation wide company, it has been quite the opposite. Customer service and responsiveness has taken a drastic dive. Back in 2020 they were always within 24 hours for warranty work and new installs. Now we are lucky to get any response at all within a 7+ days. We have spent well over a few hundred thousand dollars and we are the ones who are getting screwed, almost daily. As of the time of this review we have 11 vehicles that need to have warranty work done and there is no sign of that number dwindling any time soon. Highly disappointing in all aspects. Do not use Green Bean Battery they are scammers!! they will not honor their warranty and will lie to you and say they don't have batteries even when they do, after 25 days of me waiting I used a few friends phones, addresses and emails and pretended to be a new customers to Green Bean Battery, and everytime I had Green Bean willing to come out the next day or week and replace my battery . I purchased a battery from this company with a warranty for a 2014 Camry Hybrid. It's now 2.5 years later, and the battery fails. They asked me to send proof 4 separate times and had my mechanic run the error codes multiple times. They finally relented and said it was covered under the warranty and would replace the battery. I have been calling them, texting them, and emailing them for 2 weeks now, and they are just hoping I go away. No response to any of my communication. The first Green Bean Battery replacement for the original Toyota hybrid battery lasted about seventeen months but came with a lifetime warranty so when it failed a replacement was brought out and fitted at our house, if my memory serves me, within 48 hours. That replacement failed after fourteen months and left the car stranded in a very expensive parking garage nearly eighty miles from home in the evening of Thursday February 22nd. This time Green Bean insisted that I jump through hoops to get the warranty activated before providing service. This was no small thing with an inactive car and after a full day spent getting to this point. The staff at the company are always polite and appear to be genuinely eager to help but are constrained by their management. The next day I was promised a replacement within seventy two hours and when that didn't materialize I phoned only to be told that they were out of stock and hoped to be able to get me a new battery within two weeks. I emailed the warranty department manager and the manager of the company explaining that this was unacceptable as I needed access to a car having been recently hospitalized and as this was such an apparently exceptional event asked them to reimburse me for a rental. The warranty department advisor declined as it was against company policy while the manager of the company ignored me. The upshot was that my battery was finally replaced this morning, March 11th, so Green Bean left me without the use of my car for nearly three weeks! The technician who came out was friendly and competent but the Company's attitude frankly sucks! I absolutely do not recommend Green Bean Battery under any circumstances, especially when there are other alternatives. read more

My current experience with Green Bean Battery is a nightmare. To sum it up, I may end up spending almost as much on rental cars and the new modified warranty (supposed to be a lifetime warranty) than if I just purchased a new battery. It is July 8th and my initial phone call to try to reach someone started on May 30th. And I don't even have an installation date after paying the new warranty fee and completing the Docusign on the morning of June 18th. In fact, my last email on July 1st has not been responded to as of today. No one picks up the phone, returns emails or voicemails. You will just have to keep renting a car while waiting for any response (even after you have paid a fee of over $600 to replace a lifetime warranty battery that is no longer honored. I first purchased a lifetime guaranteed battery in 2020 and had a great experience after it failed just 3 months later. When the initial battery failed, I sent them codes and they responded quickly and replaced the battery within days. That's the deal. There is no guarantee that the battery will last. But if they replace it in a timely manner, it's worth it. You are getting a reduced price in exchange for some possible inconvenience. The whole experience has changed. My guess is they are trying to get rid of all the grandfathered lifetime warranties as they offer a 2 year warranty within the past year or 2. I could understand the modified warranty if someone would just communicate in any way, shape, or form. 2 working parents with 2 toddlers. I had purchased a green bean battery replacement for my GEN two Prius a little over a year ago. The battery lasted about one year. I purchased it with a lifetime warranty replacement. The battery died. I contacted green beam gave them all that info they requested and they approved my warranty replacement. Then I received a series of text saying that they were, very far behind on getting batteries to replace them with. But it seems they have enough batteries to install for a new customer. It's been a month and a half since I requested the replacement. Now they're not answering my text or scheduling any kind of replacement. I use this car for rideshare services and now I've been out of business for over a month and a half because I can't use the car and they will not come out and replace the battery. This was approved and I have emails saying that it's been approved, but they keep making excuses on how far behind they are on everything. They have batteries to replace new customers batteries with. I sent them a text saying I was going to report them to the Better Business Bureau and I will be pushing for a full refund on my battery purchase because they're not living up to what they said they would do if the battery went bad. I also let them know that we willing to take them to court and sue them for not fulfilling their warranty, any timely manner. I believe a month and a half is extremely too long for a battery replacement. There needs to be a class action lawsuit on green bean for not fulfilling what they are promising to their customers. read more

I purchased a battery for my 2010 Prius from GBB in September '21. There was an issue with the first battery they installed, but GBB quickly resolved the issue and continued to work with me until I had a battery that was working properly. It's now over two years later, and there are no problems. Overall, I'm satisfied with GBB's service, have recommended GBB to friends, and am very happy with the savings (compared to purchasing from a Toyota dealer). read more

The lifetime warranty that came with the battery we bought was one reason we used Green Bean. That initial purchase was fine 5 years ago, but the warranty that came with it was evidently not worth the paper it was printed on. We have experienced the run around, been strung along for 6 weeks now since we reported the failed battery, gave them the needed info, and were told we qualified and were approved for a warranty replacement. After 6 weeks, no battery, nothing but delays and excuses, you feel like a fool for waiting around for 6 weeks without a workable car. It's like torture to second guess, is this ever going to happen? Do I need to wait, or face facts and just buy a battery FROM A DIFFERENT COMPANY? That's what we've realized we had to do. I made it clear I must return to Toyota it was 1.3 years old. They took my 12 volt. I didn't allow it it happened without my awareness. What do I return?
