I have brought 5 new pickup trucks plus my wifes vehical from Greenbrook gmc, all my vehicals where paid of ahead of time, i always paid full price for these trucks with no incentitive to come back i am a Union worker and i believe in American Union made, but I can no loonger do Bussiness with this dealer, I am Black and I relize the Double standard I face and it bothers me that I am treated that but its there Dealership and they can do what they want!!! Since so many GMC vehicles in our general area seem to be from Greenbrook GMC, this was naturally our first stop for a year end 2013 Acadia special this past Fall. We were barely out of our own car when the salesperson pounced, just reeking of every car salesman cliche. We returned for a scheduled test drive (without the kids in tow) and said salesman was smothering someone else at the time, so passed us on to "his friend", despite our having an arranged appointment. When it came time to talk numbers, calls and emails were not returned in a timely fashion, and then some numbers had a not even 24 hr. expiration or the vehicle was sold. Also, said numbers were very different than originally discussed, naturally in their favor. I found my email exchange with the internet manager to be very curt and the pricing not competitive. We could have pursued but in all, we simply decided it was just way too much work on our end to continue dealing with this dealership's representatives. We almost bailed entirely on the GMC brand due to this daunting experience and even put our new vehicle search on the back burner for a couple of months. Happy to report that another try at a smaller GMC location (same hwy) was great and we now drive the exact GMC Acadia (2014) we wanted for even less than what we were quoted for any of the models (2013 or 14) from Greenbrook. read more

Went there looking for an SUV was met by Juan who was very nice. We looked at a few SUVs and test drove one which we liked. What happened next is why I am giving them one star. When I asked for the carfax I was told by Juan that sure that isn't a problem and we went inside. We sat down and he started talking about prices I told him I was to see the carfax first because I wanted to make sure that it was not in an accident Juan then tells me that if we make a deal on the price then he will give me the carfax. Something sounded fishy about this so I left and was going to come back but something to me to go online and guess what I checked their listing online and sure enough it had been in an accident. read more

Caught them and my insurance company committing insurance fraud during the repair of my car back in 2010. They charged me for new parts and provided false updates every few hours. I'm a car enthusiast, so was able to recognize the reused parts due to fitment issues, paint thickness decrepencies, faint creases from the repair, and paint drip lines underneath. I had to have the work redone for triple the price at a reputable repair center, who also found that they reused the damaged foam bumpers underneath as well (major safety violation). Absolute crooks. I shared the story on my car forum, where I found a local member that recently worked for them. He said this was commonplace, and they also take turns abusing performance cars that are in for repair. He confirmed that this place is a nightmare. I can't say that most other dealerships aren't crooks too, but avoid this place like the plague. read more

Have taken my car here on several occasions and have yet to be remotely satisfied. I only returned to deal with yet (another) recall issue on my Terrain. Made an 'appointment' for early in the morning and was not contacted until after 5 pm. Was then told my car would not be ready for 3 days. My car was there to repair a relatively minor issue. Sure they are giving me a loaner vehicle but I would much rather have my car repaired in a timely manner. I have had interactions with several of the staff and always feel disappointed. They are rude and incompetent. I would recommend going another dealership if you can. I only go here when it is absolutely necessary because they are they closest dealership to my home. read more

Purchasing the vehicle here was the biggest mistake I could have made! Returning here for services was the 2nd biggest mistake I have made. I was given a complimentary full detail and cleaning for my truck after the dealer screwed me while purchasing the vehicle and the detail was far from acceptable. I was told over the phone it would take 1hr and 20 min to complete. Upon dropping it off I was told it would take 3hrs to complete. They put 3 guys on it to reduce the time it would take to complete, but they also reduced the quality of detailing I should have received. Chrome was spottie, wax was bairly applied, and I could have done better myself blindfolded. I'm glad that was my last encounter with this dealer and will never send anyone to do business with them! read more

Finally getting around to writing this review. Whatever you do, run don't walk away. Salesman Ernie B is dishonest to the core. Just a bad human being. His manager is worse. Had a written quote for them on a trade in and a new car which could not be executed that day since it was 10PM and the lenders and insurance company were closed. Retraded the whole deal this next morning and would not honor their written offers. No explanation. Upon mentioning this to friends and neighbors it turns out that this is not uncommon with this dealer. They will quote you a number on a trade in and then when you come to close will not honor it. Buying experience in 2012 was OK. Service since then has been disappointing. They have been unable to resolve the "bucking" on deceleration associated with eAssist on my Lacrosse that I've reported at every service appointment. They also reduced the interval between oil changes based on experience (which is good, I guess, but inconvenient and costly). At my most recent appointment. I arrived expecting to wait "less than an hour" per the person I talked with when making the appointment. When I arrived, I was told I needed the 30,000 mile service, which took over 3 hours and over $700 (including tax). read more

My truck is in there for a $1000 fuel pump job that they want me to pay for despite the car not running right according to the manager Warren Finger. Steve the customer service guy who never knows the answer to any reasonable questions like, "What's wrong with the car?" or "What is the cost break down for the job?" sucks too! Greenbrook GMC, has terrible customer service period! This is the second time I have had to bring my truck to this dealer for an issue that they didn't resolve. Back in October 2010 I had the bring my truck in twice for a headlight issue. The first time they "fixed" it, the bill was $275 for labor. The second time 3 weeks later, I brought it back in for the same issue and this time the bill was $700+ dollars because according to "Greenbrook GMC" they fixed one part of the light the first time BUT this time it was "something else" wrong with the same headlight. Mind you this time, I actually wires arping in the dash! Thanks for the electrical fire waiting to happen "Greenbrook GMC". So back to this complaint and problem I am currently dealing with "Greenbrook GMC". The gold encrusted fuel pump job that is costing $1000 is complete, only according to the Service Manager Warren Finger the car is miss firing. This would be understandable if I hadn't been "promised" by Steve, "the customer service guy who never knows anything" that this $1000 job would have me up and running or he would "eat the cost." Now after 3 days of back and forth, the truck is still sitting there. Not paid for and will not be paid for until the truck is running the way it has been running everyday for the last 6 years. The point of protest is that they have already charged me $123.50 for a diagnostic test that I initially agreed to. To add insult to injury they want me to pay them another $123.50 to figure out what is causing the truck to miss fire. Could it be that the truck never really needed the fuel pump as I told them when I brought it in, as my mechanic of 9 years tested the fuel pump for pressure prior to me towing it over to "GMC in Greenbrook NJ" and found that it had 50 pounds of pressure, "exactly where it's supposed to test out at?" Who knows? I guess we just keep playing this back and forth game until it gets resolved or they get sued. Bottom line is IF you want a GMC DON'T GO to Greenbrook GMC on Route 22 East, GO TO ANOTHER GMC!!! Unless you also want to deal with unreturned phone calls, having to be transferred over and over to get the customer service rep who you entrusted with your vehicle, only to be asked to "leave a message." Btw I am still waiting for a call from the "district specialist" who is supposed to call me within 24 hours. That deadline will be approaching in the next couple of hours. According to Warren Finger there is no one else who I can talk to about this issue because his boss whoever that is, is in California so he's "in-charge." So here's the kicker: GMC who had the audacity to use tax payer money to stay afloat doesn't too much care about the general public that tries to patronize their business and buy their products. That's the message I'm taking away and that will be the message anytime some even mentions buying a vehicle to me. I guarantee I am not the only person to have this kind of issue with GMC in Greenbrook NJ. Those EMPLOYEES will one day be without a job and then they will reap what they have sown, bad manners, rude interaction and general lack of customer service skills. People who take their jobs for granted will get what they deserve in the end. read more

My review starts in 2001, when I tried to purchase a GMC Yukon XL using my GM employee discount. GreenBrook refused, so I bought one elsewhere. In 2008, when it was time to replace my 2001, I tried again but Greenbrook again refused my GM employee discount, so I again purchased elsewhere. The other GMC dealer closed down (it did not survive the GM bankruptcy), so I decided to bring the 2008 Yukon to Greenbrook for servicing. They said they could finish it in one day. That day came and went - I understand, these things happen. The problem is that no one will return my calls. I call for status updates, they take my number, no one calls back. No one from Greenbrook has ever called - not to tell me the car was not going to finished in one day; not to tell me what is wrong with the car; not to tell me when the car may be finished. Too bad that GM did not shut down Greenbrook instead of the Summit NJ dealer. I guess now I will drive a bit farther for servicing. read more

This is the 2nd time I leased a car at Green Brook Buick GMC. My first experience was by far, much better. I give 2 stars due to Josh, the GM, having great customer service skills and being very nice. As well as the staff in the service department being very nice and helpful. But, I am not reviewing the service staff I am reviewing my experience on the sales floor. In short the sales men acted like the stereo typical "car salesman". I feel as though I was bullied into the car I wound up with it because everything was done in such a rush (even though it took hours). The terms of surrendering my current lease were not fully explained and the sales tactics used during the process were just that, tactics to get me in and out and into a car they wanted to get off their lot. With that, I am not happy with my new Acadia. I brought this up with my sales guy, he ignored it. The one time he actually got back to my call or text, he called me by the wrong name. He never followed up with me, never checked to see if I was satisfied with my purchase and generally ignores my calls and texts. and IT GETS WORSE... Yesterday I happened to look at my temporary license plates and noticed that they were expiring today. I called FOUR times and texted my sales guy. Finally in the late afternoon I got a call from the receptionist asking why I had called (she is always very nice). My plates and registration were there, NO ONE HAD CALLED ME TO LET ME KNOW, really???? I think this dealership has become "to big for it's boots" and although the GM is a super nice guy it does not reflect on his staff. I recently leased a 2014 Buick Encore from Green Brook Buick GMC thanks to the incredible service and professionalism of salesman Michael Santucci. My husband and I went in on Tuesday morning approximately two weeks ago, with the idea of test-driving the Buick Encore along with some other models we were looking into, though we never dreamed we'd be leaving the lot in a brand new vehicle (not that day, anyway). I'd been waiting to purchase or lease a new vehicle for months, and had done a LOT of research on what vehicle I wanted to purchase, narrowing down the field to a Mazda CX-5, a Buick Encore, and a Ford Edge. ***A bit of background info here-- around 2000 I went to Green Brook to lease a new car, but I was extremely young and couldn't afford the payments (still a full-time undergrad student working two part time jobs to cover bills, etc.) The salesman back then, whose name I believe was Jim (??? Not sure, though there is a Jim working there now as well -- I didn't recognize him though!). At such a young age (19 at the time) I was scared to do a test drive -- I barely had my license for two years and the salesman at the time was cool with me driving on Rt 22! I couldn't believe it.*** Though it didn't work out then, that courtesy and professionalism stuck with me as I approached the lot this year. Mike S. informed my husband and I that we came at a great time seeing as the 2014 line was on its way out and they were trying to get them off the lot as soon as possible. We got an AMAZING lease rate (we ultimately decided to lease after sitting with Mike for almost a half hour debating how to go). He told us he'd do whatever he needed to make us happy with walking away, new car keys in hand, and he wasn't kidding. I teach English at the College level, and I'm working on my PhD -- if anyone knows how to "BS" with the best of them, it's ME. I wasn't about to be the shy girl that didn't know what cars were about and I told Mike -- "I know BS, and I'm not BS'ing you when I say I want this car and I like you and I think this will be a great transaction, but I'm just not sure -- I really wanted to test drive a Mazda, maybe even the Ford..." He attempted to find a Ford Edge on the lot that I could try but they didn't have any at the time... He asked me what I would need in order to walk away happy, and after being able to get a 15K lease for the same deal, including the rebates and my lame trade in (my old car was barely worth a grand unfortunately), I signed off on the deal! I could NOT be more pleased with my car. To think, I had literally been looking online the night before and found the 2014 Buick Encore in a deep Espresso color and fell in love with it -- the next day I drove off the lot with it! Again, Mike let me do a test drive, explained all the features, did everything he could to make us happy. Obviously that's his job, but we do not regret the decision we made for one second! When I said, "Maybe I'd like my dad to take a look at this vehicle before I sign the dotted line," Mike said, "Where does your father work?" I said "Newark" to which Mike replied, "I'll put the temp plates on the car and let you drive the car to your father's place of business right now!" I couldn't believe my ears! I wasn't about to take him up on that -- my dad wasn't expecting me, I didn't want to drive through far away from the dealership with a new car that wasn't technically mine yet, etc. The ways this man bent over backwards to please us was beyond belief - we love him! We had to wait in the main lobby area for a bit, surrounded by a Keurig with lots of different coffees, a soda fridge - stocked will full sized beverages, and even a popcorn cart! We watched Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and Kids Jeopardy, while some of the other salespeople came in and "played along" with us, guessing aloud the answers. The finance guy, whose name escapes me, was equally as personable as Mike -- we were joking around with him, having conversation, and honestly just having a great time hanging out at the dealership. How many people can say they spent several hours in a dealership and had an awesome time? All in all, a wonderful experience! I upgraded fom an envoy Denali to Acadia Denali- really an upgrade and I enjoyed the Envoy! This transaction at Greenbrook was driven by our Salesman - Nate. He is really knowledgeable about the product and auto business as a whole. He loves cars! USE NATE. I have bought several vehicles from Greenbrook and its predecessors and have always been satisfied with sales and services. The deals are ok but Nate made it happen. What follow thru including post purchase! I think your trade pricing is aggressive (a bit low) and I walked but salesman was so good drew me back.(with several follow up calls to work, cell and home . I think you $499 doc fee is just a tacit way of increasing cost (about 1 percent )- its too high. Had I known about it I may not have returned. I had test driven the Encore at other dealerships and the consultants I spoke with did not even come close in knowledge to what Frampton offered. DO NOT TRUST them especially guy in finance SEAN...THERE IN NEVER SMOKE WITHOUT THE FIRE ! They will put you out market by lying to you saying they can do the deal and will ask for your personal information then they submit to every bank possible without your authorization and that will effect your credit by doing so,even if you get approved but because of dishonesty at the end of the deal you probably will want to take chances somewhere else since they promise to you different payment or rate.But by leaving them you haven't realize yet that if you go anywhere else and they will also submit to any of those banks you will not get approved anymore and will not be able to buy a car for at least next 3-6 month.Reason#1...Banks will look at your credit report and will wonder why haven't you have a car yet and you have been submit to many banks already . Reason#2...when green brook submit your application they know you still shopping after you leave them but they will continue sending your application to more and more banks,so anywhere you go they will be wondering whats going on,that on your credit report so many inquiries to get a loan already. Don't trust this dealer. will never do business with this dealership or recommend anybody to use them they are a complete rip off. Worst customer service, liars and thieves .I used them to change my 2006 Hummer H2 Limo transmission. They were jumping all over me to get the business when I was still shopping around for best prices saying that they will provide me 100,000 miles or 3 years warranty on parts as well as labor on the new Transmission. As soon as I decides to go with them and towed the limo to them they took off the old transmission out and claimed that they ordered the new Transmission from GM. After two weeks they told me they got the wrong Transmission and have to wait for a new one to come in. One week later they called and said that the car is ready so I went to pick it up and started driving the car that seemed to be not normal but I said may be it takes a little time to be normal and half way home the Transmission stopped shifting and got stuck on the second gear and won't shift and then totally stopped. I called the towing and had to spend $500 to tow it back to them. The next day I called which was Saturday and told Anthony about what happened and his answer was it can't be the transmission because it's brand new. Obviously they didn't even test drive the car after it was fixed because they would known right away that there was something wrong. and he said they can't touch it until Monday because it's too big of car and they don't have the space for it which amazed me because they had all the space for it when they were trying to get my business. Anyway Monday comes no response until Thursday when I had to get really angry on the phone trying to explain that this is a business car and that I lose money everyday it's parked but they didn't seem to care. Next day Anthony calls me saying that the transmission needed to be reprogrammed but the car also needs a transfer case which of course gave me a premium price because he knows that I wouldn't spend more money on towing and I had to say yes. Long story short that transfer case took two week to finish and their excuse always is that the car is too big and hard to work on so it takes them time to do anything on it which also was never the story in the beginning when they wanted to get my business when I was still shopping around. After all done I Paid almost $6000 plus all the towing plus the loss of use for a whole month off business during the busiest time of the year (Christmas Time). less than 4 months after the new transmission and new transfer case replaced and less than a 1000 miles on the limo. The Limo was on the way to pickup clients and all of a sudden smoke started to come from underneath the car so driver stopped right way to find transmission fluid leaking and car won't move. Called the towing and Towed it back to Greenbrook. Two days later they called me and said that its only a hose that for some reason came off and cause Transmission fluid to leak and that it will just need a new clamp change for the hose that takes the Trans fluid from the Transmission to the Trans cooler and a new built that slipped off because of the leak so I said ok please try to finish before Friday because I have scheduled reservations for the limo in the weekend. On Thursday Ricky called and said that the car is ready for pickup and that everything is good to go. So I said can u please test drive the car to make sure everything is good before I come because I have had a bad experience the last time and dont want to get stuck on the road and pay for towing again. So he said they already did but will do again. End of business day on Thursday he calls me back saying that the transmission is acting up and not shifting properly and they will try to reprogram it but if it's the transmission it won't be covered under the warranty and I was like whaaaaat howwwww whyyyyy. The only reason I went with you guys was because of the warranty and you are telling me after spending $6000 and less than 1000 miles On The car u r telling me no warranty he said because they didn't replace that hose that came off and caused the Transmission fluid to leak and transmission to break down and I said you must be kidding me. it is 100% your fault because you must have not connected it back tight after replacing the transmission and that's why it came off. He started to give me BS stories on how its not related to what they did. Anyway he said he is waiting on his boss Lou who was in a meeting to make a decision and get back to me. Of course the next day comes and no answer so I called him again and he said that he didn't find out yet. I took a ride there to see what's going on. I've been lied to and also witnessed service technicians lie to other customers about problems I have experienced personally. I've had numerous problems with my GMC vehicle (all covered by warranty), but my latest visit to the dealership was the most unpleasant of them all. The transmission of my car was recently rebuilt, but I was still experiencing issues with the performance of the car. I brought my car back to the dealership for diagnosis, and was told it would take 1.5 hours to look over, which I was fine with-- I just went upstairs and made myself comfortable in the waiting area. After 1.5 hours, the service technician came upstairs and told me they were unable to recreate any of the issues I had specified, and suggested I go on a road test with the mechanic, which I was also fine with-- whatever to make the issue more apparent. They service technician told me they were going to bring my car down from the garage lift, and that he would let me know when they were ready for the road test. This took more than an hour! (I intermittently checked in on the service technician to see what was going on, and he never gave me a straight answer. I should have demanded to speak to the manager then. I admit I am partially at fault for how long this took. When I was finally told that they were ready for the road test, I asked if we were going to have a computer hooked up so we could monitor the car's immediate behaviors. The service technician said yes, so I waited in the lobby for the mechanic to drive my car out of the garage. To my surprise, the mechanic drove my car out, but didn't stop for me to get in. He drove around the corner and came back in 5 minutes. The mechanic got out of the car empty handed (no computer in hand). He and the service technician exchanged a few words, and the service technician told me that my car was "flawless" and there were no issues. I complained that I was under the impression that I was to be driving for the road test while the mechanic monitored the car's electronic behaviors. The service technician gave me the run-around and finally told me that he would sit in the car with me while I drove (no computer hookup). Throughout the road test, the service technician ignored every comment I was making about the behavior of my car and what I was experiencing. It was a particularly windy day, so any strange noises I was commenting about, the service technician kept stating that he couldn't hear them because "it sounds like your window is open". I'm absolutely convinced that the service technician only came with me on this road test to go through the motion of doing it, and nothing else. When I got back to the dealership, another customer was having an issue with her car (same model as mine), saying that her engine sounded like a diesel truck. There have been service bulletins and notices from GM acknowledging this issue and telling customers that the timing chain needs to be replaced to fix this issue. The service technician she was talking to told her it was the first time he was ever hearing of that complaint. If I wasn't so pissed off at my service technician, I would have called out the other guy, but I was too busy handling my own problem at the time. These guys are trained to be pleasant compulsive liars. Stay away if you can. read more

Having bought a Suzuki SX-4 Sedan from them on 11/12, the car was a constant problem, when couldn't get anywhere with service department went to the NJ Attorney General's office and filed a complaint, took about 3 weeks but Green Brook agreed to take the car in and make the repairs that were a combination of factory recalls and other faults, after 8 days the car was returned but it still wasn't right, fast forward to 10/13 the car is totaled in an accident, the extended warranty we purchased was never used so a refund was due us, since 11/13 had been fighting with Green Brook to get our refund, again had to threaten to contact state attorney general office again as well as call the local police for theft. They finally understood we meant business and finally released our 1,169.50, again driving 130 miles round trip to get it. In closing would I deal with them again, no way in hell's 1/2 acre would I, they do everything possible to skirt the problem and try and make themselves out as the good guys, me thinks not !!!!! read more

The four starts are mainly from the excellent service form the sales person - Nate and Dina - customer relations. They were both very attentive in following up on your purchase, plates etc etc. Nate, worked with me in getting the exact - or as close to - to the car I wanted. Finance is a different story but then again.. as a consumer you must educate yourself as to what what your options are so you don't get "talked" into things that are not necessary. I purchased my 2010 white GMC Terrain after months of research and conversations with other GMC owners. I wanted and needed a reliable vehicle that had good mpg. I put at least 20k- 22k miles per year on my vehicles. I have had nothing but trouble and heartache since my purchase. My Terrain was less than 2 yrs old and I needed a transmission. It's been recalled several times for other major and minor items such as tire sensor, timing change, camshaft actuator, throttle body, fuel system cleaning, replace belts and tensions, water pump, cylinder pin valve, pistons and rings and both headlights. My truck is constantly in the Greenbook Rt 22 dealership. I feel as if I'm re-building the truck from the bottom up. There are several other items that need attention as I type this letter. I have dealt with several rude, smug service reps. Anthony was the only service manager that had any compassion and general concern for a customer. Naturally, no one is going to admit what I purchased is a piece of junk. The Ferraez Family GMC of Greenbrook, NJ Rt. 22 has been remodeled. I'm sure costing thousands of dollars but this customer is riding around on a prayer this suv makes it a few more weeks until I can afford the next repair. When I inquired about customer financial assistance with the still needed repairs (cracked manifold, AC condenser, pistons/spark plugs) I was told by Dina Iturrey that I didn't qualify "mainly" due to the number of miles I have on my truck. Well, how ironic--that's the reason I decided to give GMC a chance. I feel like I'm being punished for driving my Terrain. I thought I was buying a stylish, reliable vehicle. What I have is far from it. I have owned cars since 1984 and this has been the absolute WORST experience I have ever had with a automobile. This has left a nasty taste in my mouth about AMERICAN made automobiles. No-one at this or any other dearlership would allow their family members to drive such an unsafe vehicle. Overall I have had a very good experience at this dealership. I would recommend them to someone who is interested in buying a new vehicle. On the rare occasions when I have run into a snafu in the service department, the employees have been very courteous, and have tried to rectify the matter to my satisfaction. The complimentary coffee, sodas, waters, and sometimes snacks, help to make the waiting time go by quickly, especially when my children are with me! I wish that I had a better connection through my mobile phone provider in the waiting area. I'm not sure if there is free Wi-Fi available, but if there is, it should be advertised more prominently. read more

This is the third time that I went to this Dealership and it cost me thousands. Each time they made me wait days to weeks. Each time I had to go back numerous times because it wasn't done right, making calls asking what's the status on my car. this last time it cost me almost three thousand dollars and the car still does feel much better and the low oil pressure light still flashes at different times. I feel since they had my car for a week that I should of been properly checked out at that time and not have to come back some many times for the same thing (Never being offered a loaner). I feel that I was charged for guess work that they still (Once again) didn't get right. I trusted them for the last time. I'm upset that I paid all that money and my car doesn't drive like it should.
