One of my favorite meals ever is at this place. I can't tell you how great their rotisserie chicken is...or can I? :) It's amazing. I usually get the 1/4 chicken meal. It comes with their delicious calabacitas, beans, rice, tortillas, fresh salsa, and chips. The chicken also comes in whole and 1/2 sizes. It has a green chile rub on it, and it's divine. The way I eat this meal is tearing off pieces of chicken and then folding them up in the tortilla, adding calabacitas, rice, beans, and salsa. The flavor though! I'm not sure where you are currently eating rotisserie chicken, but you need to add this place to your list. I have ventured here many times and always get great service. Some other dishes I have enjoyed here are their tacos, white queso (be careful the green chiles are HOT), and smothered burritos. I will say I do greatly miss their watermelon and pineapple aqua frescas they used to make. If they ever bring those back, definitely have one! I ordered a Calabacitas taco with no cheese and it came with cheese. They fixed it amid apologies. Calabacitas is squash, zucchini, onions, and corn. The stuffed sopapillas were great and I requested to stuff with Carne adovada and then covered in Christmas chile. It was exactly what I have been craving. If you're in the OKC metropolitan area and looking for honest New Mexican style food, this is your place. There simply is no better to better to be found in this area. The menu gives outstanding choices on everything from drinks (the pineapple/chile margarita was outstanding) to desserts (all types of pies). They have outdoor and indoor seating (we frequently find indoor seating at most restaurants too cold, so we love shaded outdoor patios like this one). The service is really, really good - friendly and attentive but not intrusive. The parking lot is a bit small given the popularity of the place and could stand to be re-paved, but that is the only criticism I can make of this place. I have known about this place for awhile, but kept forgetting to try it. Lunch with a friend and she suggested this. Went around lunch time, parking lot looked super packed, but we were able to walk right in and get a table. When walking in, you are greeted with a dessert case, which looked amazing. The crust on the pies looked so good! Sat down, we received very tasty salsa and chips. Ordered the queso. It was a thicker white queso, with green chilis in the middle. It was super good. The menu had a good selection. I ordered chicken enchiladas, they give you a choice of queso or green chili's for topping. I chose queso. They were made with corn tortillas and so good. Very moist, not too much cheese. The perfect amount of everything. You get a choice of pinto whole beans, refrigerator beans or black beans. I chose the whole pinto and was not disappointed! The rice was perfectly cooked! We received our orders quickly and everything was accurate. If you've been to Santa Fe, NM, this place takes you back and mirrors the food. My husband, some new friends and myself went here for dinner. It kinda has a cool mixed theme inside. I had the flat steak enchilada with black beans and rice. It was quite delicious especially with the habanero salsa which I ended up buying a cup of. I love spice and this is pretty spicy but not unbearable and has great flavor! I hope to return. This spot has fantastic queso with green chilis and the fajitas are one for the books! We frequent Green Chile quite a bit and have found a few things we love, like and some items that just weren't for us. Starting out strong is there burritos, they are huge and smothered in cheese and green chilis, if you prefer. The fajitas (single) are plenty for two people. They have house-made flour tortillas that you can't stop eating. The setup only comes with salsa and chips, so be prepared to pay for queso and tortillas if you want them. The salsa is good, not great. We prefer a more fresh, garden salsa and the salsa here is a dark, very strong salsa. The lemon pie is what you should finish up with, if it is available. The thin little lemon slice on top just sends it over the edge in the best way possible. The staff is always friendly, prompt and courteous. I am so glad I visited after hearing tons of recommendations from people I know for a long time now. The restaurant was incredibly easy to find. The interior is cute and the service we received was exceptional. Their complimentary chips and salsa were on point. The salsa had a fresh and rich flavor that I could not stop eating. Since it was my first time, I rely a lot on Yelp reviews to select the best dishes: hot green chile queso, the infamous green chile loaded burrito, and flat enchiladas (chicken) topped with hot green chile peppers. It was the first time I finished all of my foods at any Tex-Mex restaurant. Yep, it's that good! With each bite, the flavors got better. The need to stop was not within my control, but my appetite wanted more and more until there was no more to be had. I could go on and on about how amazing the place is, but instead I'm going to highly recommend that you try it for yourself to taste one of Yukon's best kept secret. I originally thought this would be like a taco stand but it's actually a sit down restaurant, good ambience, friendly staffs. Good chips, free salsa need some work. From their stacked enchiladas, their amazing house made salsa, and their Green Chili infused drinks, there is nothing not to like! Went for dinner tues night. Unfortunately I was disappointed again. Food came out cold I ask for sour cream sauce to go on top of my cheese enchiladas. I got my order and there was absolutely no sauce at all on them. I had ask the waiter earlier about spice level as I am extra sensitive to spice due to medication. When I ask him why my enchiladas had no sauce he said well we don't have sour cream sauce and he figured the other sauce would be too spicy. That was thoughtful. But he should have let me know so if I wanted to change my order I could decide what to do. The waiter was training a new guy but needed much work on himself. He was pleasant enough. Just didn't have his sh*t together. The manager came to see about our dinner after I told the waiter it was cold. She was nice enough. Upon check out my friend ask for a little discount. Green Chile Kitchen is a really nice option to have in Yukon. They serve authentic South Western food that is unique to areas like New Mexico and Arizona. The green chiles in the name of the restaurant are a special variety that is famously grown in Hatch, New Mexico. They are very flavorful and have both mild and spicy options. I recommend getting spicy green Chile in or on everything, including the queso. The first time we came, I had the burrito with spicy pork, refried beans, and spicy Chile. It was delicious, but I think I would have preferred black beans. I also had the margarita. The margs are SO tasty, but they don't have a lot of alcohol. The second time, I had the green Chile burger. It wasn't nearly as good as the burrito. (But hey, this isn't a burger joint) I need to try the green Chile stew, but I make this at home from my own stock of roasted chiles, so I've been reluctant to try it. I'm sure it's just as good as what I make at home. My only complaints are that the place can get really packed because there aren't really any other places in Yukon that are in this level of quality. And the second time I went, I was really excited about trying a certain type of their homemade pie, but the waitress quoted me an inaccurate list. They were out of the pie I had my heart set on. I'm glad we have this option in Yukon, and hope they expand some day. read more
