    Chicken enchiladas with mole.
    mark s.

This was a wonderful find. We were there after lunch and we were not starving so decided to get some guacamole and chicken enchiladas with mole sauce - to split. First the owner brought us some chips with three salsas. Excellent! Then the enchiladas and the guacamole- over the top special. We have had some excellent mole sauce in MX - this was equal to any. Great time chatting with the owner - great guy just trying to make a go of a place. Super tasty!

All I can say is wow. We stopped here for dinner on the way home from New Jersey. We're actually trying to go to the restaurant next-door to this place, but they were closed even though it said they were open online. When we walked in, it was small and it was clear that it was really a takeout place. We were very hungry, so we ended up staying, and the owner waited on us. He served us chips that were absolutely delicious, salsa, and black bean dip that was really really good. I like the flavor of it and mixed it with a spicy salsa. We both ordered burritos and they were absolutely ginormous. Like burritos, but they had a spicy, so I got it. The flavor of the burritos is absolutely delicious and the serving size was unreal. They did so much take out the time that we sat there. I would absolutely recommend this place. We're looking for Mexican.

cute little place in fairfield. ordered enchiladas with mole sauce for takeout. it's what made me discover i'm not much of a fan of mole lol but i can tell it's very well done here. the meal came with chips and multiple types of salsa - the salsas here are so good, especially the verde. would come again

I was excited to try Green Chilitos for the first time and the experience was even better than I thought it would be. Carlos made us feel welcome the minute we walked in. The amazing salsas and bean dip he presented with the chips gave us a sign that we were in for a treat. Our dinner lived up to expectations and was just like the food we had in Mexico. We thoroughly enjoyed our chicken mole (real mole!) and cheese enchiladas with red and green sauce. We walked out feeling like we had been there before and we can't wait to go back.

Carlos is a warm, welcoming owner. He has been cooking since he was seven in Oaxaca, which led him to work with Hyatt before launching a restaurant in New Jersey and now this one. The chips with bean dip and salsas were good. The homemade queso had a nice spicy kick. But the complexity of the sweet and spicy molé sauce stole the show. He is accommodating of food allergies and even makes his molé without gluten. You can mix and match tacos to try various meats or veggies with sauces. We liked the chicken tinga and pork molé best. Then, beef. The fresh juices were refreshing. He had a pineapple lemon, hibiscus and even horchata. Go support this authentic Mexican spot. While there is limited seating inside and out, he also has a thriving takeout business.

Great hidden gem, everything I've tried here is extremely delicious and prepared with care. Carlos, the owner, is super personable and clearly puts a lot into running this place. Between the great food and excellent service I can't stop coming back! The complementary chips and salsa are always served generously as well. Easily holds up to Mexican food I've had in the Southwest, I especially recommend the tortilla soup!

Cozy colorful restaurant, great flavors and delicious platters, amazing dips with chips and lovely owner! Highly recommended. Will be back!

Food was awesome and authentic. Tacos were perfect. Waiter (who I think was the owner) was very friendly and attentive.

Highly recommend each of these: Bodegarita - Cazadores, luxardo triplum, lime juice, agave...this is their classic marg. Nice balance, well mixed. Bodega Original Guacamole...fantastic. Basic in a good way. Very avocado forward. Not over-salted. The chips were fresh and not salty..again in a really good way. I did ask for a few lime wedges to add a little juice, but the guac was excellent. Pork Carnitas - Crispy potatoes, onion, serrano-avocado crema, cilantro...very good. Americano - Seasoned ground beef, manchego cheese, salsa de russa, crispy taco...kinda unique. A little like a big mac meets a taco. Unexpected but very glad I tired. Gambas - Seared ancho chili shrimp, cucumber-mango salsa, chipotle mayo...my favorite one. 5-start taco. Chicken Tinga - Tomato braised chicken, cotija cheese, mexican crema...excellent as well. Service was very good. Attentive, prompt and gave good/accurate recommendations. Didn't laugh at all my jokes. That's ok- few do. Set back from the Post Road, I must have driven passed here a million times. Unassuming storefront. Cozy spot. 5 table tops and 5-ish tables. A nice bar w/ excellent tequila options. The decor matches the food and experience if that makes sense. No brainer 5 stars from me. I'll be back and I'll certainly recommend.

Road trip to Boston…read more.. Needless to say it was a Friday afternoon and traffic was a pain from the start. A quick little yelp search and we had an instant detour for some sustenances, while we let the other motorist continue on their way. Bodega, located in a small little shopping strip, is also small and quaint. Not much wiggle room so be prepared to be neighborly. We arrived half past 4, just in time for HH @ the bar. So we grabbed some seats at the end of the bar where Alex the bartender took care of us. We started with Passionritas (passion fruit margs) and guacamole. Both were equally delish and the guac is bowl licking worthy. However, I do not recommend since you are dinning in public. Lol. In addition we ordered the bodega blistered brussels sprouts and baja tacos to share. The sprouts were an absolute stand out. I opted for the Mexico City Ceasar Salad with Salmon. Presented slightly deconstructed, which didn't take anything away from the great taste. We had an absolute great experience from Alex our bartender whom was very impressionable to Diego (possible manager) whom also made a nice impression. We tried a few more margs before our departure. With the hibiscus being one of my faves. A wonderful spontaneous detour, that will now be a welcomed stop on future road strips north. Just A Note: - HH @ the Bar only (Tues-Fri 4-6pm) - You can take Bodegaritas to-go they have them bottled for sale.

ordered takeout for pickup on my way home and decided to try their new crispy chicken with French…read morefries, curry spicy sauce on the side, and cilantro rice. The chicken was probably crispier when it left the kitchen, but it had softened by the time I got home. From it being packaged with no air vent for the steam to escape. The chicken itself didn't do much for me either. It looked like dark meat, possibly thigh, but instead of being juicy it was a bit dry; the The portion could have been more generous. The cilantro rice was mushy. I also ordered a side of ají verde, and for the small portion, I thought it should have been complimentary. A lot of places offer a sauce like that as a courtesy. Overall, I wasn't a fan of what I ordered this time. That said, I wouldn't rule the place out. Their tacos and happy hour margarita specials might be better, so I'd be willing to come back and give those a try. Their happy hour runs daily from 3-7 p.m., and the taco selection looks much stronger than the non-crispy chicken.
