I've been recycling for years and always looking for new establishments to support. With the help of my handy Yelp app, I found Green Earth Recycling with shining reviews. Not far off the 110 Fwy in Highland Park, there was a bit of confusion since it's located behind the Fresco Market, *not* in front of it. There's no official parking - it's a residential street which had open parking. It was a Saturday so there were others there, but I was able to socially distance parking away from others, and grabbed containers to separate my cans vs bottles in. Once those in front of me had completed their recycling, I was next up and the Staff was very polite and cordial. They wore masks and gloves (as I did) and completed the transaction. All in all, an easy experience and will be back! read more

This place is right up the street from my house, so it's definitely convenient. I arrived a few minutes before they opened and noticed that no one was there, so I waited. About 5 minutes later one of the employees showed up and informed me the owner was not here yet. I left to take care of an errand and came back 30 minutes later. He still had not arrived. I came back at 11:30 and they were operating. There were a few people ahead of me but the wait wasn't long. It's easier and much quicker if you have your cans and bottles separated before arriving. They paid cash and were very friendly. I'll try them again next time I have a collection of cans & bottles. read more

Professional and friendly guys working here. One guy looks like Russell Crowe heheh! Surprisingly the most organized spot for recycling that i've ever been to. They bring these easy to slide baskets to your car when they can. Otherwise they're located at the front and you grab 'em and separate your materials. Then slide them up and they take care of the rest. Efficient, friendly services located on a corner with plenty of street parking. Made a pleasant experience of what I remembered as a child being a tedious chore. read more

We always bring our recycling here because it's super easy and the guys are chill. Some days there is a bit of wait but usually they work fast. They give cash on site. Tip: sort your recycling at home so it moves smooth and fast read more

They DO NOT stick to their hours. They close 30 min early everyday. Once you get used to that this place is the best recycling place I've ever been to. Most of the guys are very helpful and professional. They got one guy that just sits there and smokes. But as long as you don't get stuck with him, it's all good. read more

Biggest hassle is finding the place: The address is misleading, they're actually on Ave. 60 & Ebey (just across Monterey Rd.), and if you look for them on Monterey Rd. you'll die trying to find 'em. They're quick and courteous, and apparently not a "bum magnet" as many of these types of establishments tend to be. No parking but usually room on the street. They're right down the street from where I live, a total plus. read more

First timer here! And I would definitely come back here. It IS bit of struggle to find this place but it's behind Fresco Market. I thought it'd be in the back of the store with a parking lot, but it's literally located in the corner of the street. We parked along the street (parallel park) and brought our bags to the corner. Blue bins are for cans and bottles. Black bins are for glass bottles. TBH, it does stink really bad but I mean it's where you give them your old sticky cans and bottles. The plus for the experience was the friendly staff, so it made the trip tolerable. They weigh each container (see prices in picture below), have you sign it and gives you cash right there and then. Pretty simple process. I'd come here again. The friendly service and reasonable prices are what will drive me back here. Plus, there's a McDonalds nearby so we rewarded ourselves with some French fries lol. P.S bring hand wipes! read more

Recycling cans isn't my favorite thing to do. Most places around Highland Park are sketchy looking and/or have really unfriendly people working there. Luckily, after checking the calrecycle.ca.gov website, I found this place. It was a little hard to find as it's located right behind the Fresco Market, off of Ave 60, right on the corner of Ebey. It's cleaner and less chaotic than most places and the two guys that work there are really nice, always say good morning and have even apologized when the wait was a little long. Seriously, they're great and process your transaction quickly and efficiently. It's street parking only, but I've never had a problem finding a spot. read more

After having to routinely wait in long line at the market recycling , this place is so much better. The parking is on the street and limited but I've always been able to park close by. Usually 3 or less people waiting and the guys there are very helpful and friendly. Cash payment. Lunch break 1:30 - 2:30. They said they are least busy Wed - Fri. I'm very glad they are open during the pandemic for now. read more

My favorite recycling place in Los Angeles(El Sereno, Alhambra, South Pas) I've been to other places that are really unreliable and unprofessional. The manager is a very nice person. I don't know if I'm over thinking this but it seems like they help locals who might otherwise have trouble finding jobs, have a place to work. I'm thankful for that. This is only my second experience at a recycling center around LA. Green Earth Recycling is right on the corner - the area where they gather recycling is tiny so be careful not to miss it! There is a decent amount of street parking so you can easily park and bring your stuff right over. I don't imagine it ever getting extremely crowded but if does there will probably be a wait since I only saw 2 people working and the space is small. The staff was very friendly. Right as I walked up with my stuff, a worker rolled over some bins to help me get my recycling sorted. Super quick and easy! I definitely see myself coming back here. read more

I'm so glad I found this place that you can recycle at and get some cash for it. I live pretty close by here so its very convenient. I kind of had a hard time finding this place. If you are facing the grocery store next to it, it is on the top left corner of the store. I'm not sure if I'm giving the best directions but just drive around the whole grocery store until you find it, that's what I had to do unfortunately. So they don't give you much, but at least you're recycling and you get a little cash. I suggest completely emptying out your bottles and such and try organizing it ahead of time to make it easier for the them. Definitely a great little spot! read more

They have a sign that list CRV values they pay. Then they list price per pound which is significantly less. I had a full basket of CRV recycling, they paid me by the pound and not per piece which makes a big difference. I asked and was told they pay the CRV value only if you bring in 50 pieces or less, otherwise it's by the bulk per pound price read more

Very frustrated with this business. Their sign says they open at 9. I came here a few minutes earlier. At 8:15 a guy shows up and says he is just the helper. The person who weights and pays the money should be here in maybe 15 minutes. A business opening more than half hour late is disrespectful to customers. read more

I have gone to green Earth Recycling on the corner of S Ave 60 and Ebey Ave for well over a year now and never had a problem until yesterday Tuesday April 13th 2021. A tall skinny man aggressively ran up to me and told me to stand here and wait while other people were walking around being served. I got my bottles in the basket he gave me and then moved up as one person left. Again this tall skinny man aggressively started raising his voice to me and telling me wait back where he said which was very far as he dealt with someone who parked right at the corner in front of the fire hydrant. This man was extremely rude to me making excuses for the man illegally parked at the fire hydrant and being aggressive raising his voice and telling me to take my bottles somewhere else. It was a classic case of reverse discrimination. As I said before I have always gone here and always had very nice people who were very helpful and polite. These guys were new and extremely rude and aggressive. I plan on calling the city on them. We are charged for the bottles when we buy them we need a safe and courteous place to return them. This place was neither of those. read more

This is a great place for recycling. I used to do recycling at South Pasadena planet earth, regularly having to wait for more than one hour. Here, it's very fast and efficient.
