I gave this restaurant one star because they typically have good food horrible service. I ordered them on door dash my shrimp fried rice had one shrimp in it. I called the restaurant and the lady argued me about there being more. I let her know I can bring it there. She said no, no one is going to put one shrimp in shrimp fried rice basically calling me a liar. Why the hell would I make that up and even offer to bring the meal back up there after i door dashed it to my house which mean I paid more than normal for my meal. This is the second time their customer service has been horrible. They will not be getting my service any more and we normally eat there pretty often which make it worse. read more

This restaurant is awesome! You get some nice fried noodles and sweet sauce when you dine in, and they're crunchy and addicting. My party was one of two or three occupied tables on a Saturday night; it seems most of the business is through to-go and delivery. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. To be honest had I not tried another Green Garden that is located on Eldridge and W Little York, this would have been a four star review. Their service alone is excellent, but the three star review comes from the food. General tso's chicken is my favorite entree and after trying the other Green Garden this one falls short. For example, this location's general tso is like a mall-esque version of dark meat with a sweet and sour chicken adjacent batter. The other location uses chunks of white meat and a more flavorful sauce making the overall quality 10x better. Since they are the same price, I would rather just make the drive to the other Green Garden. Staff is super friendly though and has a nice inside for eating when that was still a thing. read more

This restaurant has been in steady decline for a few years. Once fresh, tasty Chinese food has deteriorated to just a shadow of its former self. Ordered Broccoli Pork Lunch Special, extra spicy with wonton soup, $6.75 on the menu. When handed the credit card receipt to sign it had jumped to almost $8.00 dollars no tip! When asked the increased price was due to extra charge for "extra spicy" and take packaging for the soup! To add insult to injury they charged an extra $.25 for the smallest of portion cup of Sriracha sauce and when I requested a chili oil they said another $.25! Preposterous! Accompanied by a silly plastic fork and spoon that bent and melted when it touched the soup and food. A restaurant on the decline is very easy to spot. Cutbacks on accoutrements such as napkins, take away utensils, food quality, cleanliness and the slow inevitability of dissatisfied customers and unkept. BTW each table had a large bottle of Sriracha sauce and soy and hot mustard. Avoid this place. Not again, ever. read more

There were some high notes from their lunch special and appetizers today. I was pleasantly surprised. Good things: - shrimp rolls were crunchy and well filled, hot, and well flavored (a tad bit greasy but it was take out which could have contributed to that issue) - wonton soup - this had some nice ginger flavor and a decent, clear broth - mushrooms with chicken - not over sauced and nice flavor, but could have used a little spice - good portion of steamed rice (which is good when you have kids that like their carbs). Less good things: - egg rolls that come with the lunch serving are about an inch long - and that was not enough for our guys - fried rice was bland. Overall it was a good experience and well priced. The service was good and friendly. The portions are huge (family style). Given the quality of the ingredients, $9-$11 for a typical dish is DIRT CHEAP. I've only eaten one meal, here (dinner, last night). Thus, I can't really comment on the lunch experience. However, I noticed that most dishes were around $6-$7. Yelp Strikes Again! When in an area, where you don't know what you have, we wanted Chinese, but not knowing the area, our Yelp Compadres gave us the idea of dropping in here. Great idea! On the corner of a side strip center, it doesn't face Park Row, so we had to look for it. But with full length windows at night and interior walls painted green, once you drive into the parking lot, it's easy to find. The interior could use updating, but the food was fresh, tasty, and worthwhile. We'll go back, when we're in the neighborhood. Chinese food that is typical. In this case I wish I just went to a buffet. The servings were generous don't get me wrong, but taste didn't reach my tastebuds or at least wake them up. I wasn't impressed and if the wonton soup isn't good it's a deal breaker. Well if you don't try it you won't ever know. I only gave them three because the lady spoke English on the phone which is a plus because it's easier to communicate the order. Also the delivery was quick. I will say this minimum is $15 to deliver. Kind of pricey compared to other places I like much better so I won't be ordering from here for delivery possibly just the crab ragoons which were tasty. Lunch menu price range varied from $6-7.95 and comes with a small cup of soup of your choice between egg drop, wonton, and hot and sour along w egg roll and choice of fried rice or steamed. I tried the orange chicken and came in 5 huge chunks. I like the fact that it wasnt heavily battered like other places and that it contained a good amount of chicken but other than that, its your average chinese food. Service was ok. Somehow my Mongolian chicken lunch special came to be just under $8 with no drink but the lady at the counter was super excited about my order as she professed that the dish was her favorite. I didn't end up getting the eggroll that was supposed to come with the meal but I have the feeling I wasn't missing much.
