If you're in Ocean Shores and want to get away from the touristy options available there drive a few miles to Copalis Beach. From the roadside it looks like a typical local tavern but inside it has the feel of a small restaurant. Staff will be friendlier and a decent selection of local beers to choose from. It's a nice mix of locals and tourists. Service can be slow if it's busy, especially Fri-Mon, but it's worth the wait. Food is a step above standard pub-fare with prices to match. Clam chowder is classic northwest thick. Local oysters although last time unfortunately they kept them in the fryer too long. read more

This little spot, is a classic coastal Washington Beach Bar and Grill. Unlike the fancy restaurants up the road, this place has true local character. On top of that it has an off-the-charts great Reuben sandwich. Both my wife and I enjoyed that, so I can't really say much about the rest of the menu, but I can't imagine there are any problems based on the mighty fine Ruben. It was one of those rare days on the Washington coast, where you could actually eat outside and not need a coat. So, we enjoyed their "Beer Garden" which could better be described as someone's very well cared for backyard, especially someone with a knack for gardening! Then as you settle in, look around you notice all the servers are exceptionally (and genuinely) friendly and the place is filled with locals and tourists and many honored citizens all looking for the Friday night special. It's Prime Rib night baby! When you can get a glorious cut of melt-in-your-mouth meaty goodness for $16.99! Accompaniments include a cold/crisp dinner salad of iceberg lettuce: a smattering of grated carrots made yummier with grated cheese and your dressing of choice. A medium size baked potato loaded with fixin's, and a slice of buttery garlic bread crisp from the grill. Prime rib crusted with salt, cooked to perfection not too fatty and good portion size. Hungry as I was -I could only manage 2/3 of it before slinging it on the plate of my meat loving hubster. He polished it off barely and pronounced he was on the verge of a meat overdose. The only downside to the evening: the lovely server explaining when plastic is used to pay the bill (yes, shame on me!) there is a 3.75% additional fee for the privilege. Or as they like to say -the posted menu prices reflect a 3.75% cost reduction for cash paying patrons. Well ok then. "Standard" pub menu but honestly? I had THE BEST clams strips and fries I've ever had in my life here. I ordered them because I wasn't sure about the food and clam strips are pretty much "what they are" wherever you order them. I never knew they could be so delicious! My honey had the turkey melt (standard and with loads of plastic cheese) but WOAH NELLIE the homemade potato salad was fabulous. Clams & fries, turkey melt & potato salad, two pints of Mac & Jacks, two Bailey's & coffee: before tax & tip I think it was about $30. Pretty cheap. The next time I'm in that neck of the woods I'm going to try their breakfast. It's the kind of place you'd expect to serve the freakin' best biscuits and gravy ever. Dooooooooo it. The food...hot, generous portions. The clam chowder was "loaded" with goodies. The seafood basket was amazing. Clam strips, oysters, scallops, shrimp, and fish all fried to perfection as were the fries. I've been dropping in since the 90s every time I make a trip to Ocean Shores. The owners have changed, so have the drinks and decor, but the place has always been spot on with what they offer. Great food and beer selection. They also serve good breakfasts as well. And, the servers are always friendly too. My husband and I brought our dog with us to the coast to escape the heat (99 degrees ) at home. Read the other reviews on Yelp about this place, decided to give it a go. What can I say, the service was top notch, super friendly and very dog friendly. We sat in the beer garden area, which was just great and our sweet dog just loved the cool grass and cool ocean breeze. A nice waitress came out and took our orders and brought us ice cold water. We both got the Friday night special of prime rib. It came with a nice small salad, loaded baked potato and garlic bread. Every bite was delicious. I ordered a bloody mary and it was yummy as well. We felt we treated and satisfied when we left, and we will be returning. Thanks to the staff at the Green Lantern Pub, you are great. Visiting the Evergreen State and went for a visit to the ocean, with my brother being the tour guide. We spotted this little joint along the roadway on our return trip and decided to give it a shot. For sure a "locals" place, but we strangers were not treated poorly - albeit the locals didn't go out of their way to be chummy with us either. Although we were packing (this is a concealed carry state - which is shocking considering it is just as left-wing liberal as Cali) I did not feel like I "needed" to be while dining here "in the middle of nowhere"- LOL. The waitress was good to go, friendly enough to us "strangers" and attentive to our needs. The wife ordered the fish & chips and I ordered a burger combo with a side of onion rings. Bro and his wife basically duplicated our orders, but this review is from our taste buds' perspectives: The fish & chips were very good, of decent quantity and not greasy ( I got to sample 'em). The 'greasy' aspect is very important to my better half. She gave her meal two thumbs up and rated it a 4-star. My burger was just okay, nothing to write home about. I would rate it A-OK, meaning I would order and eat it again, if I didn't want to try something else on their menu should we swing through this part of the country again. However, the onion rings were above average (and they were NOT greasy either). So since I cannot give it 3.5 stars the wife prevails! read more

I figured pub grub, but I didn't expect to find the best Reuben sandwich I have ever eaten, and I love Reubens. The rye bread was perfectly grilled, nice and warm but not too crispy.
