I ordered food from here last night STRICKLY BASED on the reviews on here!! GREAT CHOICE!! We ordered chicken fried rice and chicken and broccoli. The chicken was super juicy compared to other Chinese places I've eaten at they delivered well within the quoted time and of course there was more than enough so we have left overs! I'm blown away by the price. I almost paid 20$ for one meal and one appetizer. I literally was up charger for some bland noodles that tasted like plane noodles no veggies or sauce were used at all. If you change that much for lunch I would hate to see the other prices. Bottom line the food is not worth the money. read more

Great place when you are looking for good Chinese close by. Went for lunch on a Saturday and place was pretty quiet but the service was super quick. The location is clean and the staff is super friendly. We ordered the General Tso Chicken, Sesame Chicken, crab Rangoons, and fried chicken wings. Everything was nicely flavored and spiced. The sauces were not to heavy and the chicken was crispy. The lunch dishes come with soup and spring roll. The portions are a great size. I will definitly be back for dine in and carry out. read more

Ordered here last night since I wanted to try something different and I am not impressed! My rice was white, my chicken was so poorly prepared that it looked old and it was hard. Then, when I called to check on my order (4X!) no one answered the phone. Then there was one packet of soy sauce and I eating utensils in the bag. We had seen this place quite often. After a ccouple years, it was still in business so I looked them up on Yelp. We decided to give them a try. Upon entering the restaurant, I was worried. It was a counter and a bunch of empty tables. No one was here and I mean NO ONE! We were seated and upon viewing the menu, the first thing that caught my eye was Hot Braised Wings. Now, I love Hot Braised Wings. Problem is, every Chinese restaurant has their own version of what they call Hot Braised Wings. I worked for a spice company that made the Hoison sauce and the ingredients for this so I know what GOOD is. Many places are not good. They are weak. So, we ordered the wings, the crab rangoon and a couple other items. She turned that order in and came back to take our food order, which impressed me. My pet peeve is having all the food come out at one time and then the rush to get us out to use the table again. we had just ordered our meal when she returned with the appetizers. Might I say...the best Hot Braised Wings I've had in a long time. The Crab Rangoon came with duck sauce they make homemade on premises. It was amazing. We ordered Teriyaki Salmon. General Tao's Chicken and House Lo Mein. Everything was really good. I was pleased and learned once again, the Yelpers were right! This place was a lot better than it seemed and although the restaurant remained pretty much empty, they do a big delivery/carry-out business. In fact, that's how we dine now...delivery! Stopped by the Green Lotus Chinese Restaurant on a Saturday for dinner. I heard the food was pretty good there so I decided to check it out. The place was not really crowded at all just a few people waiting on take out orders. I ordered the Thai Basil Shrimp,Shrimp Fried Rice, Hot and Sour Soup and General Tso's Chicken. The Thai dish was good and the Shrimp Fried rice was decent but the General Tso's chicken was not good at all. It had no flavor and the chicken was hard. I was really hoping this would be my new spot but I guess I will keep driving over to Smyrna for good Chinese food for now. read more

The worst fried rice I've ever had! The sesame chicken isn't much better than the fried rice...wasted of money.

Went here for lunch today. Another customer and his girlfriend got their order and sat down to eat. The guy was dissatisfied with the rice and asked for a refund. He only ate one spoonful of rice. He politely asked for a refund and could he speak to a manager. He waited and when she returned to the counter he asked was the manager coming. She said no I call police. I was stunned! The police walked in about 45 seconds later looking exhausted. The officer asked did anyone call the police? She answered very calmly with a smirk I did. The officer asked what's the problem? She said he order food and not like and want refund. We don't give refunds". The officer gave a long pause and the look on his face said it all. The guy explained to the officer while showing him the food that it didn't taste good and all I asked was for a refund. The officer asked the dissatisfied customer to step outside, by that time she called me to pick up my food. If I could have gotten a refund I would have. I picked my food up and walked out, by that time 2 other cops were outside listening to the customer's story laughing like crazy. I'll never visit or recommend anyone to visit this place. I wish yelp had a 0 star. Oh they didn't ask him if they could make him something else on the menu or anything. Just called the cops. The customer was very nice and didn't raise his voice. read more

This is my go-to Chinese place when I don't feel like cooking. As a recent ovo-vegetarian (eggs and vegetables, only), Asian cuisine is one of the few cuisines that caters to my needs with ease. The place is never especially busy with dine-in business. That said, I always see a steady stream of people coming in and out of the restaurant during my visits here. My staples here are vegetable fried rice and springs rolls. Not really hard to make, or extremely sought after, but consistent every single time. The service is great here, too. Every time I pick up a to-go order, the staff always tries to make small talk with me. However small it may seem, it is still nice to see people make the effort to connect with clients. 5/5 would dine again. Cheers! -N read more

I'm a really hard critic of shrimp fried rice. I looked for a restaurant for hours to find one that was close to my residence and Green Lotus popped up. I am very pleased with my shrimp fried rice and crab rangoons. Plenty of food for leftovers. I think I have finally found my go to Chinese restaurant yay!! read more

Solid Chinese-American takeout place. Food is fresh tasting and cooked properly--no limp veggies. Chicken is not overly breaded. Amazed at people who order wings, fries and other fried food to go and then complain about it. News flash: fried food doesn't travel well. If you're gonna pick it up, just sit down and eat it. We tried this place this week and were SO HAPPY with our experience! We ordered online, 2 dinners plus delivery & tip was $25. We each got spring rolls, soup, and a main entree with fried rice. Everything was hot and fresh and tasted great! Order time to delivery was less than 30 min. We will definitely be ordering again read more

I tried this place based on the yelp reviews. I've been having a hard time finding decent Chinese food for a decent price. I got the house lo mein lunch special with egg drop soup and crab Rangoons. This was our first time trying this restaurant and it did not disappoint. We ordered the Mongolian trio, shrimp egg roll, and honey chicken with fried rice. The food was so flavorful, portion sizes were great, and the prices were good also. We were greeted immediately and the service was fast and friendly. Better than average shopping center Chinese joint. General Tso's chicken is lightly breaded and crispy, with a nice sauce. Their house fried rice is great too. If you happen to live close by, worth checking out. There are only a couple of small tables inside, as this place is really just for take-out. They have free delivery too! read more

I recieved a 5 dollar coupon for this place in the mail so I decided to check it out. I called in an order for shrimp fried rice, 6 chicken wings, and sweet and sour chicken. I arrived within about 15 minutes and the place was completely empty. This made me think if it's such a great place why is it empty on a Friday night. I paid for the food and went home to dig in. Overall everything was great and very tasty, my one complaint is regarding the sweet and sour chicken. There was waaayyyy to much breading on it so I could barely taste the chicken. We got the Dinner For 2 special which included sweet and sour chicken and Mongolian beef along with soup, rice and spring rolls. I have mixed feelings about this place. I've tried their fried chicken wings, chicken egg rolls, lo mein noodles, and shrimp fried rice. The first time that I tried it, I absolutely loved everything we ordered. It was all hot, fresh, and full of flavor! However, the last couple of times that I've tried them I was not as pleased. The fried wings and the chicken egg rolls have been fairly consistent but not the rice. The first time it happened, I thought that it was just a bad batch. So a while later, when I was in the mood for Chinese I decided to try them again. Well it was the same exact issue. The wings and the egg rolls were great but the rice, again, was dry and highly lacking flavor. The shrimp in the rice also had no taste and once I realized that they were not deveined, I COMPLETELY lost my appetite, which I'm tempted to take another star for. I definitely don't recall this being an issue the first time that I tried them. I don't know, I might try this place again from time to time just to get wings and chicken egg rolls, and maybe lo mein, but definitely will stay away from the rice and anything with shrimp. read more

This is my favorite Chinese place in my area, and I have tried them all. It seems like Green Lotus makes everything fresh to order, while the others in this area probably just reheat things made in huge batches or rely on a lot of frozen stuff. You have to try their Crab Rangoon and Egg Rolls! You will never eat Chinese buffet or the other shopping center restaurants again. The food is 5 stars all the way. I have tried a lot of different things from them now and have been happy with all of it. My husband and I always get the rangoons, egg rolls, a fried rice or lo mein, and 2 different dishes and pig out for a couple of days. I can't really speak of the service, as we always take it out, but the staff seems pretty friendly and the plates on the diners tables look huge. Sooooooo I'm very upset with the outcome of this place. Sounded Delish but once delivered we found out otherwise. Did I mention I'm from NYC and know good Chinese from bad Chinese?! Anyways.... the fried rice looked like albino fried rice... absolutely no color... sesame chicken had no sesame seeds... I asked for extra duck sauce got no duck sauce... AND we were staying at a hotel and asked for plates and utensils and guess what got no plates not even a spoon to eat with... needless to say not a good experience.... read more

I am so mad! I'm mad because I'm just finding this place! I've lived in the area for 5 years and you were right down the street the whole time. I love the general chicken and egg drop soup. OMG so good. And absolutely love with the fried crisp for the soup. The only complaint I would have is when you order fried rice I would like some fried egg or veggies in it. This restaurant is just OK. They were better in 2018, now in 2019 everything has the same brown sauce every other Americanized "Chinese" restaurant puts on everything. The Green Lotus puts more vegetables in things which we like though - that's a plus. The negative is the boring brown sauce whose primary flavor is salt. Tonight my husband and I ordered two totally separate chicken dishes, one Thai and one Chinese, and after pickup, we looked at them at home and they look identical. There is no way to tell them apart. Same brown sauce, same vegetables, same chicken. I think they passed off the same thing as two separate dishes. Very disappointed. Ok so I have been looking for great not good but great Chinese food. I am from New York City and I have high expectations for great Chinese food. Green Lotus is not in a noticeable location on the East West Connector. Not unless you visit the other mediocre restaurant next to it. The inside of the restaurant is very nice and welcoming. The customer service was awesome and the young lady was patient while I was trying to decide what to order. Looking through the menu, I noticed the prices were a little higher than expected. I finally ordered and the food was ready pretty quickly. The fried chicken had a weird flavor to it and the rice was pretty good once I added soy sauce. The General Tso Chicken was great and a bit crispy like I requested. They should really look into making the shrimp roll a regular sized shrimp roll, like other restaurants. This was my least fav out of everything I ordered. It was way to big and packed w a load of cabbage and maybe 3 shrimp. Fast forward to the day after....my stomach really suffered from this food. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and blame it on me not having Chinese food for some months. I do not think I will visit this restaurant again. read more
