I love this restaurant! My family loves to eat breakfast out and this is a mile from my house. I'd been to the one in Del Ray, so this Boynton Beach location was a great surprise. Lots of great choices-fab french toast, crispy corned beef hash, excellent tuna salad, and my new fave, french dip with pickled veggies in the dip. Great little local gem for breakfast! I stumbled upon this place while waiting for my husband to have a medical procedure and reading yelp reviews. The reviews were all very good so I thought I would give it a go. It's a cute quirky little place with little ceramic owls all over. I was greeted at the door with a cheerful hello, and was able to sit anywhere. The menu had many breakfast choices. I had 2 eggs, bacon and hashbrowns with toast. The coffee was awesome, and the eggs were real fluffy eggs (not that egg substitute garbage at some places). The bacon was done well and not overly salty, and the hash browns were a crispy generous portion. Overall a nice experience, good food and good prices. My husband and I were searching for a new breakfast joint as we tend to dine at the same places over and over again and needed to add some variety to our weekend line-up. I stumbled upon this joint while driving around Boynton and was delightfully surprised that despite the line extending into the parking lot, it moved quickly. Breakfast was short, sweet, and to the point- exactly what we were looking for! I ordered the ham and cheese omelet with bacon and corned beef hash- delicious! I want to give this place 5-stars, but it was extremely warm inside (the AC didn't seem to be on) and the hostess seemed inconvenienced / annoyed with my question regarding their advertised rewards / loyalty program. The lady had short platinum blonde hair (I wish I had gotten her name) - she took my payment and then asked me to "hold on" while she cashed out the customer behind me (I had asked my question before I had even submitted my payment). I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, the food can be wonderful but rushed / poor service can leave a lasting bad taste in my mouth. I'm hoping she was just having a bad morning. Once the iconic Delray location closed, I decided to drive a bit north and give the Boynton Green Owl a try, and am glad I did. Sunday breakfast can often be crowded and stressful (just the opposite of what a weekend breakfast should be) especially at good places, but Green Owl was relaxing. Parking was close and available, we were seated immediately, and the food came out quickly. No hassle breakfast at its best. My companion had the Country Benedict which substitutes a biscuit for the English muffin, a sausage patty for the Canadian bacon, and sausage gravy for the Hollandaise sauce. I did not try it, but there were no complaints across the table. I had the traditional Eggs Benedict and it delivered with perfectly poached eggs, the most important element for me. The coffee tasted better to me than it did at the old Delray Green Owl. The service was friendly but not overly so. I did not have to learn the name of my server, but she was pleasant all the same. 3 green owls so we chose the one with the best reviews. The staff was efficient and friendly, the place was clean but definitely needs an update (carpet, booths). The sausage gravy was extremely good and the bisquits were ok. We came for the pancakes and found them to be the same as we could make at home, good but nothing special. Eggs were cooked right and hot. Bacon was like thin hotel bacon, not horrible. I'm pretty sure this place is under new owner/management. I use to come here every other weak, but haven't been here in a few months. Last time my husband and I were there we weren't very happy with the food and this time it was worse. He ordered the steak which he said was sour. I had the eggs Benedict which was way over cooked and not very good at all. I ended up having to exchange it for an omelet which was bland but ok. The potatoes, home fries, were bland and had a weird chemically taste to them. I'm sorry to say but we won't be back. The servers are great but my stomach ache is not worth it. read more

It's a diner. Nothing special about it. Nothing on the menu excited me for lunch so I had the turkey club. At 7.95 it was the most expensive thing on the menu. It was ok. I ate 3/4s of it. My grandfather had the pancakes. Said they were good. I'm giving them 3 stars because for what it is , they do the job. The owner seemed really nice and old people love this place so I don't want to hurt business. But in reality it's 1 star , there was nothing on the menu that I couldn't cook. The price was good but if I think about other places that I can get an $8 sandwich there are over a million better options. read more

The menu is your basic American breakfast fare. Albeit being basic, it was very delicious. When you don't feel like staying home but want a home-cooked breakfast this is a great place to go! The food was 5 star, but the coffee was not. We had breakfast on a Tuesday morning. Most of the other customers seemed local, which is usually a good sign. We were greeted pretty quickly after having sat down. Our drinks arrived super fast. I had iced tea, which was fresh brewed and very good. My husband said his coffee was just okay. We both ordered the Country Benedict. Mine was with scrambled eggs and hashbrowns and his was with over medium eggs and grits. My food was outstanding! The biscuits were amazing. The eggs were wonderful. My husband said his grits were run of the mill, nothing special, but his eggs were perfectly cooked. The sausage gravy was delicious! We would absolutely go there again.
