Took our food order with great recommendations on his part, and the only thing faster than his service was the speed at which our food came out!!!! AND.... IT WAS DELIVERED BY A ROBOT!!!! So cool. Anyway.... I order the Red curry on the servers recommendation and it was delish! The curry was creamy and spicy, hitting the back of my throat and choking me up every bite. lol! Every time we've been here, this restaurant is always vibrant, lively, and inviting! Service is extremely quick, so if you're starving, this is definitely an option for speedy food. My husband loves the pineapple fried rice. On the other hand, I try something different every time! Each dish was freshly prepared and very tasty. I did think the avocado salad was over dressed with the dressing. But with it's fresh ingredients and attractive presentation, I was easily able to overcome that. Such a delicious dining experience! We dined in last night for my friend's birthday. I ordered the miso soup, yellowtail jalapeño, and the chicken lettuce wraps. I was very intrigued and surprised to see fruity pebbles being used as a garnish on most of the plate plates. It was a garnish on the yellowtail as well as the edamame that my friends ordered. I thought that this was really random, but fun and cute and never been done before. The miso soup was great, but it definitely could've come out a little bit hotter. The yellowtail was very fresh and flavorful. The chicken lettuce wraps were small, but that was a given because it was listed under appetizers. The combination of food that I got was the perfect amount for a meal for myself. The restaurant had these robots that brought out the food and the server would grab from the robot and serve it to us. It was very of funny to see. We also mentioned to our server that it was our friend's birthday and they brought out a huge birthday sign and served her a plate of whipped cream and pocky. We've heard a lot of great things about Green Papaya so we decided to have our wedding anniversary dinner here. It was Monday so not very busy when we arrived, we were greeted and seated promptly. They have one of those Scorpion Bowl drinks for two for like $25 which I would have normally purchased but it was a school night so I just ordered a Yuengling. Draft beers are more expensive than bottled, $5.50 for a bottled Yuengling is a great deal. The restaurant is very beautiful and the dining room was kept immaculate; alternatively, the restroom was not very clean. They could have done a better job with the restroom, especially since business was slow and they had plenty of staff on duty. We ordered the Love Boat for two ($60). It came with two specialty rolls (8 pieces each), 15 pieces of sashimi, and 8 pieces of Nigiri. Everything was delicious and fresh. For dessert we ordered one Peanut Butter Explosion to share ($8). The dessert was good (generic) but it should have come with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Service was hit and miss. Our primary server didn't have much of a personality but she got the job done. There were two other ladies that helped and refilled glasses and a manager that stopped by to see if we were happy with everything so that was great. Overall, I had a good experience and thought the sushi was on point. I would return for the sushi again but maybe go somewhere else for dessert. If I had to choose between Green Papaya and Bayridge I would most likely choose Bayridge because we've just had better overall experiences there. read more

I've visited Green Papaya a few times now since opening and their sushi has remained consistent and my recommendation for folks. I've tried the panang curry, red curry, amazing curry, and pad thai, to name a few. My favorite appetizer is their green beans! We were excited to try this newer restaurant after hearing for great things. The interior got a huge overhaul and looks really great. Lots of hard surfaces, though, so it is a bit loud when the tables fill in. They have a full bar and a nice variety of beers. I ordered a Philly role to start and it was great. The filling in the pieces were large and not fishy at all like some sushi places. For my meal, I ordered the pad see ew with chicken. They offered a spice level from 1-5. I went with 2 and there was a noticeable tingly, numbing spice. Not really spicy tasting though. Next time I'll try 3. After a touch of soy sauce, the flavor was just what I was hoping for. The veggies in the dish looked fresh and the noodles were cooked nicely. I liked that the peanuts were served on the side because I didn't really want them in the dish anyway. Service was good, though felt a little rushed. Our table got appetizers and a few minutes later our main course arrived. They use a shelving robot to move the food around from the kitchen to the tables. This visit, it had an image of a tuxedo on its "body" which was cute. Wonderful experience once inside, terrible experience trying to get inside. The parking lot is WAY too small for the amount of business this restaurant has. I circled for at least ten minutes looking for a spot. The parking lot was full and there were at least 6-7 cars circling the parking lot all looking for a spot. The neighborhood behind it is not the nicest and I witnessed a man come out of his house to yell at someone trying to park in front of his house. Everyone in our party had to park off site and walk a block or two which i'm sure is causing issues with other businesses. Once inside we had a great experience. The inside is decorated beautifully, it's crazy to think it used to be a Panera! They do not take reservations unless it's a large party so we put our name down and were told it would be about an hour wait. We migrated to the bar where we ordered some drinks to pass the time. Drinks are very reasonable, their standard drink menu is $12-13 for most drinks which is spectacular these days. Their seasonal menu is about $16. The lavender sour was beautifully presented and delicious! Our table was ready much sooner than anticipated (I think we only waited 20ish minutes) and we were sat at a booth by the kitchen. The menu is big, with sushi, hot and cold apps, curry, noodle dishes, etc. There is truly something for everyone on this menu. They also have gluten free options. We ordered three appetizers (calamari, shrimp shumai and I can't remember the third), the calamari came out very quickly and then our other two never made it to the table. Our entrees came out like a minute after we asked about our other apps and by that time it wasn't worth it to get the appetizers so we asked to just have them taken off our bill. Not sure what happened there. Our server kind of went MIA as well, we didn't see her much throughout our meal. All of our entrees were plated beautifully and everything tasted great. Portions were good and the prices were very fair. Since we were seated by the kitchen we got to see a lot of dishes as they came out and everything looked so good! The presentation kept surprising me, every dish was prettier than the last. My husband and I chose to go to Green Papaya to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary, and it ended up being a great choice for a special night out. The restaurant itself was very classy with a modern atmosphere. That said, they were quite busy for a Sunday night, and the background noise from other tables got pretty loud at times. To start, we ordered the Flame Salmon Nigiri, Roti Canai, Five Spice Green Beans, and Tom Kha Soup. Everything came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. The Flame Salmon Nigiri was incredibly fresh and literally melted in our mouths. The only small disappointment was that it wasn't served in the fancy book presentation that's set on fire like we've seen on social media, but just arrived on the plate as is. The Five Spice Green Beans were another standout and ended up being one of my favorite dishes of the night. We loved interacting with the robot server that helps bring food to the tables. It definitely added a bit of novelty to the experience and was fun to see in action. For our entrees, we ordered the Thai Garlic Duck along with the Dynamite Roll and Drama Queen Roll. The duck had a wonderfully crispy skin and great flavor overall. Our only wish was that it came with a little more sauce to go with it. The sushi rolls were very tasty as well, but the pieces were quite large (so big that they were a bit difficult to eat in one bite). Slightly thinner slices would make them perfect! One thing that really made the evening special was how accommodating the staff was. We brought in the top tier of our wedding cake to enjoy for dessert, and when we asked if they could serve it, they went above and beyond. This was my first time visiting green papaya restaurant in Altamonte Springs. On the outside, everything is clean walking up to the entrance. Upon entering the green papaya, I was greeted by the hostess immediately with a friendly smile. The inside of the restaurant was very clean, very elegant, gold and black colors running through the restaurant. The food was amazing with so many different choices. They have a whole section on sushi Thai and Japanese all tied together. I got a ginger salad with their special house made ginger dressing that is a creamy white ginger dressing amazing, clear soup, and Pad Thai noodles with veggies and about a level 3 out 5 on spice. Of course we got green tea. All of our food was delivered by a robot server. The service at green papaya was top-notch. Everyone was consistently checking on you not once. Did I ever have to look around for assistance or if I was in need of something someone was always right there ready to help. I visited Green Papaya in Longwood and was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience from start to finish. I ordered the beef satay, St. Augustine sushi roll, Thai fried rice with chicken, and the drunken noodles with chicken. Everything came out hot, fresh, and made to order. I also appreciated that they allowed us to choose our spice level from 1 to 5. I selected a level 4 for both the fried rice and drunken noodles and as someone who enjoys spicy food, it was the perfect balance of heat and flavor. If you are sensitive to spice, you may want to choose a lower level, but it was very enjoyable for me. The drunken noodles were slightly sweeter than I typically prefer, but still very good overall, and I especially loved the fried rice and sushi roll. I loved that a small moving robot delivered our food to the table. I had never seen one in person before and it made the experience feel modern and fun. The decor and atmosphere were beautiful, and the location is conveniently just minutes from the interstate even though it sits slightly north of Orlando. It was really busy when we went but service was moving fast. The staff were really nice, but it did feel like we were being rushed almost. The coconut shrimp were so good! They were fried perfectly and the sauce was delicious. We also got chicken skewers with a peanut sauce, these were very good as well. We both ordered sushi, the presentation here is great. All the food was very tasty with a nice presentation. The massaman curry was not the traditional creamy sauce. It had more of a brown sauce. This was our first visit and we were most happily surprised. Most of the food was excellent, and the service was adequate, although the robotic delivery seemed weird and superfluous as the servers accompanied it anyway. We started by sharing the Sampler appetizer, which had 2 each of satay skewers, coconut shrimp, spring rolls, summer rolls and fried wanton. It came with a sweet chili sauce and a tasty peanut sauce. This was so totally delicious: I can definitely see us ordering this again! Then, hubby and I each ordered the squid salad which was really, really good. For our main (and at this point we wish we'd stopped at the salad) hubby had the Amazing Curry with seafood combo with level 3 heat, and he really liked it. He said the peanut sauce was, in fact, amazing. For my main, I had the Thai Fried Rice with seafood combo. It didn't look very much like the picture, not having many vegetables. But there was plenty of seafood. Unfortunately, although it tasted good, it was a little bland for a Thai dish. The soy sauce at the table helped a lot. But one warning, each cheddar has his own idea of heat. We order 2 or 3, and each time it's different. 2 can be extremely spicy, and so can 1. I can't order 3 here. Overall, this place is a great addition to the local restaurant scene. The menu has lots of sushi, and lots of non-sushi options for all tastes. The only item missing would have to be bibimbap, but you can't have everything. The ambience is nicely done, but the place is freezing cold inside and the sound is very loud. So bring a coat and earplugs. The biggest negative, however, is that they don't take reservations for fewer than 7 people. We had 5, so out of luck. But still, we will be back. read more

Our server was great, attentive without being overbearing, and very helpful throughout our visit. The drinks were just okay for me. I tried the pineapple mocktail, and it felt a bit too pulpy and not quite worth the price. I do think it's nice that they can turn any specialty cocktail into a mocktail, but at $10, it felt more like paying for juice than a crafted drink. As for the sushi, it was good but pretty standard, nothing that really stood out. I feel like I could get something similar elsewhere for a lower price. We started with a papaya sampler that was a great appetizer for two with shrimp, crab rangoon, chicken satay, spring rolls and summer rolls. It was a beautiful display and everything had the right temperature. All of it was delicious! I had very tasty Asian pear martini for my drink. We also order roti a delicious bread with a great sauce. For lunch we had the shrimp fried rice, chicken cashew chili and lobster tempura. The food came out with great timing, beautifully displayed, great flavors and was served hot. You can get your food with a spicy level of up to 5. We opted for a level 3 so our food would not be too spicy. Level 3 was just right for us. All of the food was again beautifully presented with great flavor. We loved the plates, the touch of adding fresh flowers and the display of color. The staff was very kind and answered questions on the menu. We had to try dessert because mango sticky rice was calling me. This is warm purple rice, with coconut milk and topped with fresh mango. My husband also enjoyed this dessert. Green Papaya delivered on its promise as a great dinner date spot. We visited for the first time last night and left impressed, mostly because of standout appetizers that were genuinely some of the best we've had. The fried green beans were crispy and perfectly seasoned, the roti was warm and pillowy, and the flame-seared salmon nigiri struck an ideal balance between seared exterior and buttery raw center. Honestly, these appetizers alone are worth a return visit. We were so impressed with the apps that we could come and just order those. The Thai duck came with a beautifully crispy exterior, though the meat itself was slightly overcooked for our taste. It was enjoyable, but not something we'd reorder. The sushi rolls we chose were solid, the special rolls were well crafted and flavorful, though we found ourselves wishing we'd gone with simpler rolls instead. That way we could have ordered more quantity and saved on some of the extra ingredients The atmosphere is warm and inviting, service was attentive, and the overall experience felt like the kind of place worth returning to. I heard of Green Papaya and I'm glad I finally got to try it since they opened one here! First off, there's a lot of parking spots in their parking lot, which is nice. The servers were really nice and we got our orders taken pretty quick, along with getting our food quickly. I got the Thai tea and it was super good! The flavor is strong and it was the right amount of sweetness. The pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles were super good. You can customize your spice level 1-5. I think I can handle spicy pretty well (I love mala spicy) and I wanted to start lower so I got level 2. Over time the spice built up so comfortably, 2 is a good spot. Thinking of trying it next time, but 3 is probably a good spice level too, but may be a bit harder to finish. I really liked the decorations inside! It felt nice and classy. There also seemed to be plenty of seats inside. They had booth seats, bar seats, and regular table seats. read more

This is their sushi lunch special. This was about $13 for 12 pieces of sushi. I wish they came in the standard roll size of 8 pieces if it's going to be $13. For the flavor the sushi was very fresh and tasty. I really liked how they didn't make the roll with a lot of rice. read more
