Service wasn't good, the 2 servers we had could hardly speak english and didn't know the menu at all. Once we got our food, our son ordered the little buckaroo burger but it came with a sausage patty and not a burger patty. The rest of the food was so so. Nothing to write home about. read more

The only good thing was the nice staff that was from all over the globe. Food is awful. Their NY Strip 1/3 gristle, ordered medium and came out very well done. Mystery seasoning the made me wonder what I was eating and the fat tasted like rancid salmon. Salad looked like hamburger toppings with an approximation to a dressing made by someone who's never tasted what they prepare, and saw a picture of a salad before and just winged it. Not sure if it was the time of day, 330pm, but restaurant was completely empty. Prices were reasonable and food was pretty good, but service was HORRIBLE. Especially considering we were the only ones. We were seated and had to find wait staff to take order. Sodas came with plenty ice, but wife and I got water with minimal ice. The only reason I say anything about that is, when I once again had to find the waiter for a refill, he refilled our water glasses with a pitcher of room temp water, no ice. Unacceptable hence the review as I never really write reviews. Only redeemable quality was food was acceptable. I will not be back. read more

The 2 star rating is well deserved. The staff has absolutely no training. Not sure who is watching this place. I fault management. They have no efficiency what so ever. We sat and waited in for a very long time. We ordered rib eye steaks. My medium rare steak was well done. The green beans were over done. Again... management was none existent. Stopped by on a trip to Flaming Gorge. This place is only a few miles from the dam. Its mainly an RV resort but they have a small burger restaurant with an attached steakhouse opening any day now. Staff is friendly and food is good. It's the only place around to eat so I was surprised that I'm the first one to put it on Yelp. read more

Noticed the sign of it being a steakhouse. Sat down and was given a burger menu and beer only menu. When decided to go elsewhere, the waitress produced a steak menu and a wine menu. They were out of the featured wine so ordered a generic Chardonnay. Then asked about a mixed drink menu, and wala, it was produced. After being there 2 hours, a filet and gin and tonic were produced. Service was friendly, prompt and efficient. The steak we had was exceptionally good and breakfast the next morning was great. It is wonderful that they stay open all year and make this relatively remote location a comfortable and convenient place for the late fall, winter outdoors people. Don't order anything here unless you want to waste hours and hours of your vacation time and money sitting in a grungy, but air conditioned room! Just try going next door, it's all the same gas station food and freschetta frozen pizzas. Probably owned by the same people but I would not even loosely label this place as a diner let alone a grill or steakhouse. No one will ever read this but I hope the pink shirted mustached manager does. YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO RUN A KITCHEN, HOW TO TREAT CUSTOMERS PROPERLY OR HOW TO RESPECT YOUR UNDERPAID, OVERWORKED STAFF! Also, the cook needs hairnets and a clean hand washing station. Every year we come to flaming gorge and have a blast! We have ordered ice cream cones or fries from this gas station before with no memorable issues. It took 40 minutes for our waters to be brought to us, and I highly doubt anyone had to hike to a waterwell 2 miles away to bring back a pail of water. Another 30 minutes before we could even order food. After 2 hours with no food items arriving we asked the waitress to cancel our orders. We explained that the day was running short and we had to get back to the rest of our family waiting at mustang ridge with babies and toddlers in the hot sun. She assured us that things were ready "soon". We asked if she would bring out whatever was ready now (we heard the order up bell ding multiple times, we were the only group in the place by now) she told us they had to wait til every order was ready. Uhm, what? We wanted to cancel our orders for whatever hadn't been made yet, we told her not to worry about the other orders. She kept saying it would be ready soon because she didn't understand what we were saying and that little manager man wasnt letting her cancel our orders! She was visibly upset and I realized that the manager was being disrespectful towards her. We asked every single employee in the gas station to cancel our orders, no one would accommodate. We wanted to just get up and leave but we are polite people. The craziest part is they didnt even bring what we ordered! The cook just decided what he wanted us to eat and that poor girl had to bring out dishes after 3 hours and be met with, "what is this? We didnt order this?" NO ONE ordered any plates with onion rings, some people can't eat onion, yet every single plate had pale soggy onion rings! So gross!! The orders were supposed to come with chips, guac and salsa. The pizzas we tried to cancel 5 times were 20 dollars each! They are making alot of money off 5 dollar frozen freschetta pizzas that are unevenly cooked (idk any pizza dough that takes over 3 hours to bake). We ended up not being able to even eat the pizzas!!! We talked to the pink shirt manager who was ridiculously greedy and selfish, he basically told us to deal with it. Then some other little guy in a white shirt came out to ask what was going on. We mentioned that the 18% gratuity was unfair after our complaints on such a terrible experience at a food rest. But we actually did want to pay the tip to the girl but not for all the food since it was not what we ordered and was inedible. He proceeded to mansplain what gratuity was and even revealed that this is what restaurants do. HAHA HAHA adoiiiii, oh really! We couldn't believe it when he asked what we thought would be fair, we stated 50% off and the gratuity be removed completely so we could hand the tip to only our waitress. Then he refused and told us 10% off and he was keeping the 18% on the check because "he had been in SLC and just got here and didn't know what was going on". I guess it was possible he was in salt lake city when we ordered and by the time we got some food 4 hours later he made it all the way to dippy dutch john to this crappy gas station. This place was a joke and the male manager and his presumed son don't have a clue what they're doing. They must be on a power trip since there is only 3 other places to get food in this area. Never has a restaurant manager been so unorganized and unaccomadating to our family. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY, zero greasy stars read more
