I remember Ten Ren's popularity when I was a kid and they began popping up all over the east coast. That was when boba first started becoming popular in the US. It was one of the first boba tea shops I've ever been to. During that time, they were considered the premium pricey boba place. Not so much anymore as boba has saturated the market in the following two plus decades. Oh how times have changed. As I grew up and made my way to the west coast, I've seen them in predominantly Asian areas but never really went because there were just so many other options around. Fast forward to today, Riverside is one of the areas that doesn't have as many Asian options as previous places I've resided. At least Ten Ren's is a familiar name so I gave it a go today after a long hiatus! Let's jump straight into my favorite item. The braised beef noodle soup here is fire! The broth is rich and umami, large chunks of tender braised beef, great noodles (or a dumplings option), fresh veggies and Chinese pickled cabbage. A solid and authentic Taiwanese beef noodle soup that I would come back for. I also had the popcorn chicken, takoyaki and fried tofu. They were good but the beef noodle soup stole the show. The popcorn chicken was a bit overcooked but great seasoning. I got the highest level "Very Spicy" which had a kick but was definitely tolerable. Fried tofu could use more sauce and reheats really well in the air fryer! Lastly, for drinks, I got the Mango Milk Icee. I like that you can select two toppings but I could barely detect the mango. It tasted more caramel or brown sugar forward to me. Either way, it was still enjoyable as a dessert to finish off the meal. They have a vast selection of drinks so I'm sure I'll eventually find a favorite here.

After many years away, the Pandemic was partly to blame, I found myself returning to a favorite haunt. The primary difference being that I no longer had to grade stacks of papers and lockdown for hours. Hours that allowed me to work my way around the menu, try many of their outstanding tea-based drinks, and one that isn't (Love Potion #6). So, top favorite entrees include minced pork and rice bowls, congee, ramen (neither the greatest nor the worst), dumplings, spicy wontons, popcorn chicken, beef with dumplings soup, and sometimes the beef rolls and green onion pancake. I've always enjoyed the atmosphere, even if the hours of operation are much less nowadays. Who knows, perhaps I've even met my future gf? JK, thanks to all the nice employees from the past to the present.

As with many things, shrinkflation has hit this cafe. It can be seen in the form of plastic straws (was bamboo), plastic bags (was reusable), and smaller portions. Their boba was terrible today which is always a let down at teahouses. Most people go to Ten Ren for good tea and boba; I cannot vouch for either on my 2 most recent trips. In one of our other trips the owner remembered us and offered a couple samples of free boba. It was pretty good during that trip, but more often than not the boba is undercooked and gummy or hard. As for the teas, I'm not sure what happened to my favorite white peach oolong that I got all the way up through Autumn before they phased it out of season. It's definitely not the same drink. I even tried guava green tea and several of their fruit teas just taste of flavored syrup and water, there is barely any tea flavor to speak of. This is different than the samples you try near the register oddly enough. Their food is still good and I'm always grateful for vegetarian options, but if you're vegan or a strict vegetarian -- they use one fryer for everything. So crispy tofu, fries, & egg rolls are not technically vegetarian. The good news is their egg pudding doesn't contain gelatin and is vegetarian. Be careful ordering vegetables and be sure to ask for the vegetarian version so they don't put braised pork stew on it.

Ah, Ten Ren! Love this little gem. This place is boba heaven. My dear husband (and fellow foodie) and I came here while we were dating. The food is excellent. A special nod to the sesame balls! Always a favorite for us. Please come here- the service is exceptionally friendly and it's got good vibes all around.

I love the gyoza and the boba was delicious! The soy sauce enhanced the flavor and passed my expectations!

Parking: Finding a spot is simple, and there's a parking structure. Food: They offer drinks, snacks, and meals. Not the best but isn't bad and is perfect for a convenient stop. Ambiance and Service: The atmosphere is decent with limited seating, and while it's generally clean and service varies on which staff is working.

Ten ten is a chain and i believe they changed their name. I don't know if they're under new ownership but this place was delicious! Just like how I remembered it. Just good ol tea food. Haha I was never really a fan of the boba, I feel it's too sweet. But the food was why I would go. I was looking for the beef over egg but they don't have it anymore. The curry tofu was good and the beef bowl. Just want I wanted.

Does anyone know if Ten Ren out of Door Dash service? We love to order for lunch at work, but it was not available since last week.

    Are there vegan options?

We do have bean curd and boiled vegetables (ask for no meat sauce) for vegan option snacks and our cold noodles can also be made vegan/vegetarian by asking for no meat in it.

We shared the philly roll so we think the salmon was bad. We also got separate ramen bowls. The miso ramen broth had a good flavor but the drunken ramen was pretty bland besides a straight basil and ginger flavor. The pork was very firm and difficult to chew in both of our meals. The egg was closer to hard boiled than soft boiled. The noodles were cooked well. The thai tea was decent. It was extremely sweet and diluted and didn't have that strong flavor most thai tea has. Service-wise, the waitress was friendly but she disappeared from the floor after giving us our food for about 30 minutes and never checked in with us or was available when we were ready to leave.

Anyway... After perusing through the menu, which had quite a few blacked out items (black tape applied over the menu item) we both decided on the Tonkatsu Spicy Black Ramen Noodles as well a the Crispy Fried Rice appetizer... the appetizer was delivered but I had to request some small individual plates so that we could eat off of our own plate, rather than reaching over trying to share the same plate and making a mess on the table... no worries, small oversight (or so I thought at the time)... Next came the Ramen... Looked very appetizing, but again I had to get up and request a couple of soup spoons... went to dig in, and while the bottom of the bowl was warm, the broth itself was quite cold... after calling over the waitress and asking them to please reheat (even if they had to use the microwave)... the waitress took it back to the "open" kitchen and they used the microwave to reheat... The bowls were returned and as we started to eat, satisfied that the broth was indeed hot, we noticed a couple of items missing: the corn - no corn in the broth like it was described... in addition to that, no Wood Eared Mushrooms were in the broth either... the wood eared mushrooms set the "black" apart from the standard ramen and cost $.50 more per serving... when questioned about it, the hostess informed us that they didn't have any mushrooms... as a consolation, she offered us one of the "extra price" toppings in place if it... we opted for the tofu... a bowl of tofu pieces came out and although they appeared to have steam coming off of it, the tofu was cold as well... smh... The hostess returned them to to kitchen to be reheated... We received a 10% discount ($4.90 of of a $49 bill)... Not sure if they're going to make it with this level of service and food quality... Good Luck!

Know your Math I think anyone ordering here needs to pay…read moreattention to the math because the pricing makes absolutely no sense. It's honestly funny how the "build your own combo ramen" lets you choose the exact same soup base, meat, noodles, and toppings for cheaper, while the pre-named ramen with literally the same ingredients costs way more. Same bowl, same toppings, same flavor -- just a different name and higher price tag. Maybe after this gets pointed out they'll fix it, or maybe not, but people should definitely watch what they're ordering. As for the ramen itself, it was just very average. The broth looked creamy, but the flavor was pretty flat and lacked depth. It tasted more salty than rich, and didn't have that slow-cooked tonkotsu flavor you expect from a good ramen spot. The chashu pork was decent visually but tasted dry around the edges and not very flavorful. Even the noodles and toppings felt basic and forgettable. The whole bowl looked better than it actually tasted. What confuses me the most is how insanely high the reviews are. Feels more like social media hype and inflated reviews than actual quality food.

Yoshioishi Sushi & Ramen had solid reviews, so we decided to pivot and give it a try. First impression: the menu is extensive. It's one of those places where you almost don't know where to start. The fan favorites are marked with a red flower, which helped narrow things down. We also asked our server for suggestions, which made it easier to navigate. We arrived just before 5pm and there was only one other table. We were told to sit anywhere we'd like. By the time we left, the restaurant was filling up and it seemed like there were quite a few regulars coming in. Here's what we tried: Salted edamame: Just average. A bit limp and not as crisp as I'm used to, so they didn't feel especially fresh. Gyoza: Really nice flavor and the dipping sauce was well balanced. These were solid. Yellowtail jalapeño sashimi: This was different in a good way. It had cilantro and a slightly sweeter sauce instead of the traditional garlic ponzu. Unexpected, but a pleasant surprise. Crispy chicken karaage: Slightly over fried but still flavorful. The dipping sauce helped. Crispy rice with spicy tuna: Just okay. One piece barely had tuna on top. Not bad, but not something I'd reorder. Cucumber salad: Served on a bed of iceberg lettuce, which surprised us, but the dressing had great flavor. This disappeared quickly. Nigiri: The salmon was incredibly fresh and one of the highlights. The albacore and toro came topped with fresh wasabi, which was a nice touch. We really enjoyed the salmon and albacore. The toro didn't quite melt in your mouth like we hoped. It was a bit chewy. Crazy Salmon Roll: Good flavor, but note that the salmon on the outside is fully cooked. We expected raw, so just something to keep in mind. Snow Mountain Roll: A fan favorite at the table. Great texture and flavor. Plain udon and plain ramen: Both were excellent. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the portions were generous. We definitely over ordered, but we left very full. One small detail for fellow tea lovers: I always look forward to hot tea at a Japanese restaurant, especially when it's served in a small pot you can refill at the table. Here it was hot water with a tea bag in a metal cup, which was too hot to comfortably hold, and there was no teapot provided. Not a deal breaker, but next time I'd probably skip the tea. Service was strong. In addition to our main server, two other team members checked in and refilled water regularly, which we appreciated. Overall, I'd call it a 3.5 if that were an option, so I'm landing at 3 stars. The food was decent, the atmosphere comfortable, and the service attentive. It didn't completely wow us, but we're glad we tried it.

Honestly most people know ramen expectations should be low when you order it as take out but i think they do a great job with how they package their takeout! I've tried their normal lemonade and their mango passionfruit sweet tea and personally i like their sweet tea more! The drink portion is nice and large! Definitely not overly sweet and it always hit with my ramen. I've tried most of their ramens, i like the fact that they have different style noodles. Personally i think their wavy noodles go better with the rich broths like the miso and the Tokyo style one (a mix of shoyu and tonkotsu ) and the straight noodles go god with their clear broth like the shoyu or the yuzu shio. I normally get their shoyu mostly because it gives me the least acid reflux, but that's nothing with their food it's just a health issue for me :( i would say my favorite is their Tokyo style broth. I think it has a nice balance of flavor and the wavy noodles just soak up that broth nicely. I've only had their appetizers on takeout so they're not super fresh, and not really a main stopper for me. The large is good but i wish it was a little bigger with the pieces. Sometimes they're just small and idk it feels like it's missing something. I got the opportunity to stop here yesterday after my tattoo, and the service was decent. Got seated quickly and my order taken quick as well. My food took a few minutes to be made but nothing crazy of a wait. Overall i had a good time, i do go on a Saturday around 7:30 pm so not sure if that matters. For take out i do recommend ordering min 30 minutes before pickup because i do feel like it can take a minute, but thats the nice part of take out that you can order in advance. I think for Eastvale/ norco ramen this place a nice broth and noodles. And it's not overly oily or salty :)
