I have been wanting some Chinese food for weeks now but I just ended up doing other places so today my lunch was going to be Chinese food. As in a lot of my reviews I comment on empty Asian places and this was one of them again where I'm the only one in the place so it's take out because I just don't like eating in an empty restaurant. The restaurant has the Asian red theme going and a nice little bar to sit at while you wait for take out. The menu has no combination plates except the lunch specials and I was too late for that. As I looked over the menu with nothing in mind I thought the pork egg fu young really sounds good so that's what I got. The pork egg fu Young was three patties in a thick brown gravy with white rice. The pork egg fu young had plenty of pork, pork in every bite which I liked and nice size patties. The thick brown gravy was ok and worked well on the pork egg fu young which hit the spot. I thought the pork egg fu Young was better than average and generous in size and the amount of pork so I would definitely stop back and try more of the menu.

We really enjoyed the food. We had the sweet and sour chicken, Mongolian beef, and pork fried rice. The dining room is not open at this time due to staffing shortage.

Their version of pad Thai - huge portion size, thick instead of thin noodles, mixed meats, very sweet

An average Chinese place. Overall the portion sizes are huge! Egg rolls are not too exciting flavor wise but ok. I like the egg foo young here. The meat quality is really poor, in my opinion. I only like fresh meat that's trimmed right. It's pretty unpalatable to me and I ended up picking a bunch of it out of my meal. The pad Thai is not my particular style, too sweet for me. Also the noodles were thick instead of thin, as they are with traditional pad Thai, that confused me a bit. Why in the world they dump iceberg lettuce all over the plates makes zero sense. How is that Chinese? For garnish, something way more colorful could be used. It gets in the way of the food, too. The staff is very sweet though and the place often has plenty of available seating! Maybe that's a bad thing...

The food was so old. They need to check the expiration dates before cooking. I got food poisoning.

My date had requested during the reservation to be seated by a window but they had us seated at a rounder and bigger table that felt a little goofy for two people to be seated in. But we asked our server, Aracely, if we would be able to move to the window seating and they helped arrange that for us. We decided to order the Crispy Fried Berkshire Pork Belly as our starter and the Grilled Whole Mediterranean Branzino and the Seafood Pappardelle as our main entrees. For drinks, we decided to get the cranberry kiss. Surprisingly, both of our dishes were pretty filling! The seafood Pappardelle, had lobster, scallops, shrimp, and octopus. It was on the heavier side, but the noodles that they paired with it, was absolutely amazing. The Branzino was nicely grilled, but wasn't dry on the inside. I was indifferent with the chimichurri sauce that was paired with it but the smashed potatoes and grilled asparagus was delicious. Overall, very delicious entrees.

The Steakout - Milwaukee, WI…read more If you're headed to Milwaukee, The Steakout is an absolute must. I eat steak at least once a week, both at home and at restaurants. At home, I know exactly what my family and I like. Ordering steak out is always a bit of a gamble. My husband usually avoids it because 1) we (well I) make great steak at home and 2) every other business meeting seems to happen at a steakhouse. The Steakout is the exception. This place was a solid 10/10 from start to finish. The Atlantic Salmon was an absolute masterpiece. Yes...even in the Midwest. Sushi-grade salmon, perfectly seared on the outside with a buttery medium-rare center. We almost ordered the walleye because, well, Wisconsin. Instead, we took a chance and were rewarded big time. Paired with a bright lemon aioli and served over a rich butter broth, every bite made us look at each other and say, "Okay...this was the right decision." Aside from finding a couple fish bones (because fish are, in fact, made of fish and bones), this dish was outstanding. Now let's talk Prime Rib. Prime rib and I have a complicated relationship. I see it on a menu and immediately think, "this is the one." Then about half the time I spend the rest of dinner wishing I'd ordered something else, like a trusty ribeye or NY Strip. Not here. The Steakout absolutely nailed it. Perfectly medium rare, juicy, flavorful, with a fantastic au jus, beautifully seared asparagus, and just the right thickness. Honestly, I don't know what they could've done better. I couldn't make anything up even if I tried! The French Onion Soup was another winner. Rich, cheesy, and exactly what you hope for when you order French onion soup. And because it's a true Midwest supper club, dinner started with a warm bread basket and a classic relish tray loaded with fresh vegetables, pickles, and olives. Honestly, I wish every restaurant still did this. Bring back relish trays! Of course, no great steak dinner ends without dessert. Even though we were absolutely stuffed, we ordered the tiramisu to go. "To go" lasted approximately five minutes. By the time we waddled to the car looking like Violet after her Willy Wonka blueberry fiasco, that tiramisu didn't stand a chance. Thankfully, we headed straight to Milwaukee's Summerfest afterward to walk off at least a few of the calories. Zero regrets. For the quality of food, the portions, and the overall experience, The Steakout is incredibly reasonably priced. If you're anywhere near Milwaukee, do yourself a favor and put this one at the top of your list.

We made a last minute reservation but am so glad we did because this place got busy quick! We arrived a little earlier than our reservation so we sat at the quaint bar (the layout reminded me of a "Cheers" episode) and enjoyed a glass of wine until we were called to be seated, promptly at exactly when our reservation was for. The bartender was friendly and helpful in suggesting a selection of wine too. I ordered a petite filet but I think it would've been helpful to have the weights of the other two filets listed on the menu as well. My steak was cooked as requested. Clearly this is a local favorite and heavily supported. Reservations are recommended for sure.

It was one of the most special dining experiences we've ever had in Milwaukee. From the moment we walked in, we felt like we entered the home of an Argentinian chef. In fact, you pretty much having Chef Ana as your own personal chef, with her husband Peter also providing some exceptional hospitality. She came up to our table multiple times during the evening to chat with us and ask us how our meal was. It's pretty amazing that she is the sole chef in the restaurant and is able to prepare all the meals while also checking in with patrons regularly. The food was really good. They have two prefix options, and we went with the paella, with an appetizer, dessert and bottle of rosé. Each course felt thoughtfully curated, beautifully presented, and bursting with authentic flavor. The warm staff and intimacy is something unique and different than anything else we've experienced. It's rare to find a place where you can experience both world-class cuisine and the personal touch of the people behind it. FYI, there is a price to be paid for such wonderful food and service. But for a special occasion, it's well worth the money spent and would be right up near the top of my list. I also ordered the crab cakes which weren't impressive and could have been alot better. For our main entrees, we ordered the sirloin and grilled shrimp. My sirloin was perfectly cooked along with the asparagus and deliciois grilled shrimp. My husband and I both ordered the bacon mac and cheese for sides. We were disappointed in the bacon mac and cheese because it was bland and didn't taste right. The most memorable part of our visit was the amazing top notch service we received from our server! She was very personable, attentive checking in frequently through out our dining experience, and made sure we had an amazing time! If you have a sweet tooth, try their Bourbon brownie with Rich, flourless brownie, chef-crafted bourbon sauce, served with vanilla ice cream. Luckily the patio was open & it was great weather plus we had a 2 month old with us so could make it easier to step out. Prices are a little steep for an area like Franklin/Greendale. Probably a "nice occasion" dinner than a once a week dinner. Anything with some sort of protein is at minimum $21. I got the Fried Perch Dinner. My dad got the Prime Rib. My wife got the Tenderloin Sandwich. The Prime Rib was massive, not awfully fatty but I wouldn't pay $45 for it but that is also bc I am frugal. However, if it was a special occasion then I'd splurge for it. Dinners come with a salad or soup, bread, potato, & zucchini & squash. This is alone why I didn't get one of the salads & instead got the fried perch. This was definitely 5* to me. Cooked great, great portions, & I love zucchini. I just think the cost on the whole menu is where I dock the point. If you're okay with $26 to $30 on a dinner then this is an A+ spot with high class decor & interior. Heck, even the kid's grilled cheese looked SUPERB!!! They use the bread in the picture & we joked that we wouldn't mind ordering that when we saw a family order two of them.

When I saw the location, I thought what a idilic setting to enjoy a Friday fish fry. On this particular Friday, we elected to sat outside and maybe should have known something was up when the hostess called us brave. Seemed weird but the patio was bustling with people all appearing to be having a good time. All I'll say is the website incredibly oversells the condition and setting of the patio. Online, everything looks well manicured and on point. In reality, their patio area is a mess. Weeds, both dead and alive are a plenty. Besides a few small hanging baskets, not many actual flowers brighten the patio space. Even the planters that were displayed highlight dead flowers. Oh what this space could be with a bit more attention. With regard to food, I ordered the perch fry. The pieces were so ginormous I mistook them for cod. I was assured it was perch. The breading was delicious and the fish flavor. The fries, sprinkled with Parmesan are ok. If I come back I may stick to the inside dining room since its decor outshines the outdoor space.
