The lunch special: half ham and cheese sandwich on a pretzel bun and a cup of Italian chili.
    Stephanie G.

3 stars means "A-OK!" on Yelp and I'd say that's spot on for this soup spot. I popped in for a quick lunch in between meetings and chose half of a ham and cheese sandwich on a pretzel bun (these were made earlier the same day, not made fresh to order) and a cup of Italian chili. Both the sandwich and the chili were good. I was satisfied. It's a no-frills kind of place but you'll leave full and ready for the rest of your day. I'd have no problem coming back here but I wouldn't necessarily seek it out.

This spot is a great place located right on Kinnickinnic St in Bayview. I love soup so having found this place is a blessing!! Super good for breakfast lunch and dinner! Also great service, Zina was amazing. I came right during "happy hour" and she helped me navigate their menu and prices. Thank you so much Zina :)

    Delicious!! Chicken curry soup!

I will admit, I am a soup lover. Love it all seasons, love all kinds, I just love soup. I stop in the soup market often. I have liked many soups I have tried here and I love their chicken salad sandwich. Popped in today and had a special soup of the day. It's a chicken curry and it is beyond wonderful and surpassed my expectations. I took the picture a little late (ate the bread and half the soup) but it was 4 star worthy!!

They always have at least one vegan soup so I'm guaranteed to find a good soup here for sure! Very filling, especially with the bread. Nice ambience, super friendly service, so glad they are here in my neighborhood! I'll keep on coming back, as I have since they opened. Oh, just a note, I gave it 4 stars for food only because I would like there to be even more vegan soups. If they had at least 3 on their menu daily, I would definitely give this a 5 star rating.

Location / Atmosphere - Very nice and clean restaurant. Small but nice seating area, perfect for a quick lunch break. I did see a lot of 'to go' business which is also great. Food / Beverage - Very good selection of 'home made' soups. I also over heard the managers planning orders for future soup items all which sounded very good. Two recommendations - 1. Had a soup / sandwich combo. It would be nice to have 'made to order' sandwiches. I'm guessing that the sandwich I had was made earlier in the day and with this the bread tested a bit stale. I would think that you would want your sandwiches as good as your soups. 2. I had the cheese and andouille sausage soup which was fabulous by the way. The temperature of the soup was a bit hot for my 'in-dinning' experience but did cool and was able to eat it. I'm sure it would have been fine if I had ordered 'to go'. Service - Very quick service which is perfect when trying to get a quick lunch in. All prices were very reasonable. Very clean. Overall a very awesome place. In summary - Very impressed all around good service. Hope to stop back in the next time I'm in the area.

Sadly, this is half of my $3.00 grilled cheese.

While a tiny place, you're greeted with a wonderful smell as soon as you open the door, embracing your nose like a warm hug. Service was great! Staff was efficient and offered great suggestions, such as when I wanted the grilled cheese but I am not a fan of pepperjack and it was offered to add in some mozzarella instead of the pepperjack and it was not only a thoughtful suggestion, it was an amazing sandwich! I did a combo with the ginger carrot soup and it definitely had the ginger kick but was not too potent for me and I appreciated the suggestion from staff to try this one. Just a couple small quibbles that prevented Loup from getting five stars: - There were no croutons, crackers, or bread served with the soup. That is a must for me and something that can be easily corrected. - The M&M cookie--while quite large--was not great, especially for $4. It's my husband's favorite kind of cookie and he only had about a third of it before passing it on to me. I ended up having it at home with milk (which helped) but it was overall a disappointing and expensive dessert.

I love that the food I've ordered here has always exceeded my expectations with the seasonings and quality of ingredients used. Reasonably priced too! We quite literally came here straight from the airport. To make matters worse, we had not eaten anything substantial all day and had actually looked this restaurant up weeks before our trip while researching places to eat the infamous Wisconsin fish fry, so we were really looking forward to the experience. The experience started off poorly when our party was essentially scolded by the hostess for sitting at a table that apparently needed to be cleaned for the wait list. To make matters worse, the busser laughed and joked that we were "in trouble," to which I could only respond, "Sounds like it." Not exactly the welcoming atmosphere you'd hope for as a first time visitor. The fish fry was decent our tab came out to $150 for 5 people, but the service was absolutely subpar and our tip reflected that. We also had to send back two drink glasses because they were dirty one still had lipstick on it, and another had food stuck to the inside of the glass. Overall, this was a very disappointing dining experience. Between the unprofessional treatment, lackluster service, and cleanliness issues, I would not recommend stopping here. There are plenty of other restaurants worth trying instead.

There were several servers hanging around and it wasn't clear where I could order. Sat at the counter and was ignored for 5 min. The server came over and told me to go to the deli area. It was a challenge to understand the clerk. A quart and pint of soup with a bagel and lox was $40. While I waited i read recent reviews and was alarmed. What happened to the best Jewish deli in our area? The lox tasted very fishy, like smoked fish. Unlike any lox I'd ever eaten. I asked for capers and regretted it; there were so many and with only the tiniest shmear of cream cheese, it was inedible. Too salty to be edible. The bagel was ok, but couldn't eat much of it. The chicken soup with mishmosh also disappointed. The lid was swimming in grease. I discarded it carefully. There was 1 matzo ball (ok), tons of noodles (meh) rice (ugh - underdone and inedible) and a kreplach ( I had to spit it out - filling was rancid and sour). The broth was tasteless and unseasoned. What happened to Benji's? So sad.
