Truck moved here in the US from Vietnam more than 25 years ago. Then he went back and married Tina. They have a kind, sweet teenage daughter. A beautiful immigrant story! Anyway, driving an hour to Laurel just for a haircut was starting to conflict with my other schedules. so I was looking for another old fashioned barber shop. If you ask me, Barbers would beat hairstylists any day. At least that's the for me. Been there done all. My best friend who is living in Hyattstown for over 30 years recommended this place. Him and Mr. Rocco was buddies when he was alive. It was the last winter when I first came to this shop. The first day I came here realized I had no cash on me. Not sure why most Barbers still refused to accept credit cards. That's another post! I believer it's purely cultural and old fashioned. As I was walking out to get some cash, the nice gentleman who happened to work there told me if I was in a hurry I could get my haircut and come back to pay later. How kind and sweet is that. I was kinda in a rush and appreciated the offer. That's when I met my new barber. In few minutes she understood exactly what I was looking for. Later she told me she is from Bolivia and owner of the shop now. She has two other wonderful Barbers. As she was cutting my hair, I was literally could see she was changing my hairstyle. I let her do whatever she wanted to do. Wasn't completely sure if I was gonna like the cut, but internally I was ready for a little change. So she did! There's a line between the top of my head where the hair is a little bit longer and the bottom where she shaved so it's like stubble. I would avoid going to this barber if you're a grown man.
