6-14-2025 noon lunch Five Stars all the way! Food was on point, service was fast and indoor and outdoor seating was perfect. I could see having a big motorcycle event there because Green Valley Smokehouse is way bigger than what you see on the front. This place has been on my bucket list for a while and finally made it. Located in the beautiful little mountain community of Green Valley. They make good BBQ. And they have a decent selection of beers on tap. I had the brisket sandwich with a side of Mac & Cheese and a yummy hazy IPA. All was delicious. Service was good. I popped in on a Sunday afternoon and surprisingly the place was empty. I will definitely dine here again. This is a good place to motorcycle to with a couple of buddies.

Quaint little small town restaurant where everybody knows your name! The Smashburger can be loaded up with pulled pork, pickled jalapeños, and bacon. The nickname for this is "The Bear" after one of the owners. This burger is absolutely heavenly! The macaroni and cheese is very creamy with lots of different cheeses, and a little hint of pepper jack cheese with chili peppers finely chopped up to give it a mild zing. It makes you wonder what is that flavor? But, it keeps you wanting to take another bite again and again! Obviously the guy in the above review has no taste buds. The brisket is very tender, along with the pulled pork. All of the barbecue sauces are homemade and so is the ranch dressing! The service is wonderful. Very attentive, always made sure our drinks were full, and checked on us frequently. We went close to closing time, but were never rushed. Pictured is the "BEAR" Smashburger with added pulled pork, pickled jalapeños, and bacon! And a side of macaroni and cheese.

This place has become a local favorite for me. The menu is fresh and delicious! That includes fresh baked cookies too! The staff are super kind and courteous. The setting is in a small peaceful community with a lovely tree shaded patio as well. Highly recommend this place, you'll be back!

What's not to like about this hidden gem. A great stop for a meal while on our motorcycle ride now that The Oaks is gone. Food is excellent and meats are smoked and flavorful, not just disguised with sauce. Service is friendly and Chloe's, our server, was top notch. Ambiance is updated with outdoor tables and a nice outdoor patio underneath 100 year old plus shaded oaks. I can't understand why this place isn't more popular, other than no one knows it's here. Now you do!

One of the business owners was very nice explaining all their history and what they serve on the menu. I'm gonna rate the food from 1 to 10 the coleslaw giving it a 3 l too much pepper in it. Tri-tip a 3.5 the reason it was kind of hard to chew. Mac & cheese 2.5 Too much pepper. My son rates, the Smashburger an 8 Pull pork a 9 Mac & cheese 3 It has too much pepper in it. It's a really great little place off of spunky Canyon Road is the only restaurant in the area I would give it another chance next time Im in the area hope they lighted up on the pepper and also workon Tri tip.

My nephew was pleased with his meal and fancy soda

We took a look and the pictures all looked delicious so we decided to give it a try. Best decision! We got to try the Tri tip which was my favorite, but also tried the half chicken (very juicy), & brisket. For side we got the mash potatoes and Mac and cheese which both had excellent flavor. We got a side of the grilled corn which wasn't our top from the other options but still good flavor. The waitress was also very helpful and answered all the questions my hubby had (he had asked quite a bit lol) They have seating inside and out but given the afternoon was fresh we opted to sit outside. The service didn't changed we were checked on often. Either way both options seemed pleasant. All in all, We were left in food coma after in the best way possible. This was a place we're saving to go back whenever we're in the area. 10/10

This use to be out go-to place for special occasions but it has fallen to the "will not go back"…read morecategory. For starters, it is outrageously priced for what you get. I got sticker shock just looking at the menu. Over $20 for a regular wedge salad. The kicker though was the cleanliness of the place. First there was black mold growing in the drink menu. Then i looked at the brick floor ( we were sat outside) and i was disgusted (see photo). I understand that drinks and food get spilled but it doesn't take much to power wash the patio at night. My plate came out dirty with a chip on the dish-ware. The bbq bottles were sticky and congealed. Just think, if this the cleanliness of the dining room, imagine what the kitchen looks like. I have worked in the restaurant business before and this is just intolerable. Two stars for a good atmosphere (live music). But that's it. If you want great bbq, try Copper Hill BBQ. It's doesn't have the atmosphere of Smoke House but you get great BBQ and a clean environment.

After doing a quick Yelp search i found Red House BBQ. From the being to end the whole experience was great, we were greeted promptly and sat down just as fast. We opted to sit outside since it was a beautiful day with great weather. The patio and outside seating is huge, the inside is a bit smaller but still has plenty of seating and it's nice I love the decor. I went with the Tri Tip sandwich and added hot-links which was a great choice I also got a side of fries. The Tri Tip was well seasoned it had the crack peppercorn taste that I personally love. Served on a soft Brioche bun I believe. They give you 3 bbq sauces on the side to choose from Sweet and mild , mild and spicy all three were delicious. My wife and daughter went with the pulled pork sandwich which I tried an it was delicious, especially the little pieces of Bark. My wife had a side of Mac and cheese and my daughter a side salad. They said the Mac and cheese was delicious and so was the side salad it was fresh. They do have a small bar nothing big and offer beer, wine and some mixed drinks. Overall it was great experience and I say even better BBQ than most of the spots I've tried in Bakersfield. It's a shame it's about 45 mins away but I'll be definitely making the trip back soon to try something else on the menu.

If you know anything about Gunsmoke BBQ and Beer in Santa Paula, you know their barbecue already…read morehas a solid reputation....but finally making it into their restaurant just confirmed everything I'd been hearing. I've had the chance to try their BBQ at local events around Ventura County, and it always left an impression. They make some darn good BBQ. BUT for this visit we ended up highlighting something just as exciting...their vegetarian options! It definitely says a lot when a barbecue place has great non meat options. I came with my friend Raquel (yelp elite) for lunch and we went all in on their vegetarian plates...well with one exception, we ordered the deviled eggs too. Let's start there: Their famous Candied Bacon Deviled Eggs are a must. Creamy, flavorful filling, lightly battered egg, topped with crispy bacon...yeah, they're as good as they sound. 10/10. Now for the vegetarian standouts: The Fried Avocado Bites were simple but done so right. Perfectly fried and paired with house made sauces that really brought everything together. Super shareable and perfect as a starter. 10/10. The Cauliflower Tacos were a reminder that you absolutely do NOT need meat for a great taco. These were hearty and loaded with (again) incredible sauces. My friend was obsessed and I get why. They were good, but I would prefer a meat protein taco at a spot like this. 7/10 for me. Beyond the food, the experience really shines here. The space has this perfect mix of country charm and rock n roll edge which is such a fun vibe. Service was top notch, and we love when owners are present and genuinely care. They stopped by to check in, which always makes a place feel extra special. And shoutout to our server Bentley, an absolute sweetheart. Next time you're in Santa Paula, do yourself a favor and check them out.

Gunsmoke is located in Downtown Santa Paula. I didn't pay close attention but I don't believe they have private parking. If you don't know SP, there is street parking and some parking lots. I would be mindful when you are planning to come for parking. I came with a friend midday so there was plenty of parking and seats as well so we got seated right away. I was happy to see the non meat options they have available. I was a bit bummed out they didn't have their hummus but it's just another excuse for me to go back. I did end up getting their cauliflower tacos. My friend got their avocado fries and their devil eggs. I had never had devil eggs, and tried those and were so good. I wanted more but I had already had all my tacos. I did appreciate the owner coming to greet us and finding out I was pescatarian. He was nice, mentioned that even though they are a BBQ spot, they still want to value those customers that don't eat, and asked if there's anything I think of to let him know to see if they can add it to the menu. Really appreciated that. Overall, bummed out I wasn't able to try their BBQ. The options I did try were all really good. I would come back.
