This visit was long overdue. I love this place! Casual, neighborhood vibes, and a great spot for bagels that transport you to the Northeast. I had the pastrami egg and cheese on an everything cheese bagel (THE BEST bagel), and my kids had a sausage (turkey sausage) egg and cheese, and a salmon cream cheese and caper on plain bagels. The deviled eggs are also great. They have regular and spicy along with a lot of other bagel sandwich options and various cold salads. They can get pretty busy but the staff is quick and always friendly. They will remember you if you're a regular :) read more

Hey, bagels in the name, and dude they are good. I had the cheese bagel, it had a nice chew to it, pillow soft, and you can taste the freshness. With this being my first time, the staff was gracious, informative, and quick, this is how you get more people in the door. I was just visiting out of town, but I think I might have added motivation to come up this way. The place was clean, adequate seating inside with a few tables outside. Heading towards home, Mrs. K. said that she wanted New York deli for late breakfast and so Yelp headed us to Greenfields. A short wait in the queue on a Sunday morning and we placed our orders. A few minutes later, a polite young lady brought it to the table. With our Dr. Brown's, I had an everything bagel with cheddar and egg. Delicious, chewy bagel and the cheese was nicely melted with the hot egg. Perfect. Mrs. had her Larry David special, a bagel with whitefish salad and nova plus the LTO and a pickle on a side. She made the better choice. Overall, great service, great menu options, fabulous food. Five easy stars here. On the table, a shaker with "everything" seeds in it. Discovers this place a couple of weeks ago when I was up on battleground, and craving an authentic bagel. I Yelp searched "bagels near me" and this place came back with great reviews, so I made a beeline to get some breakfast. I was greeted by the staff upon walking in, made my way to the counter enjoying the Halloween and everyday decor, plenty to keep your eye ma busy. The staff was friendly and quick to offer suggestions/recommendations. I stuck with my go to, breakfast sandwich, sausage egg and cheese on a cheese bagel, and it was perfect. The bagels were incredibly fluffy and flavorful, probably the best textured bagel in the area, from what I've tried. They offered a great variety of bagel flavors and cream cheeses and options. This is a small breakfast style to go shop but do not be fooled, the food here is delicious and the service fast; they are quick to serve your food. It is known for its bagels, you can get fresh ones or day old ones at a lower price from the fresh ones. Certainly enjoyed going here to get a quick breakfast. Finally got to check out Greenfield this week and was pleasantly surprised! I say surprised because some reviews I've read had me a little skeptical, especially when compared to other similar bagel shops in town. The online ordering system is easy as pie. I placed my order and within 8-10 minutes it was ready for pick up. I love their bagel and cream cheese selection. It's a little more extensive and unique compared to other shops. I tried the Pastrami, Egg, and Cheese on Black Russian bagel. I've never had one of those before! It's basically a Pumpernickel Everything bagel. I loved it! The PEC went perfectly with it. Honestly, this PEC was better than my absolute favorite bagel shop in town (they shall remain nameless!) but the pastrami seemed fresher and more plentitul. I also really liked the interior of Greenfield's. It was spacious with many seating options, perhaps a nice place to come get some work done! I'm excited to come back to try other items, maybe even a lunch sandwich (that Reuben is calling my name!) One thing I'd like to see on the menu is bagel dogs or some breakfast side options. My new grab and go spot. Stopped in for a quick lunch and was told to try the Reuben. I subbed it on sourdough and it was perfect! The employees are very friendly and you can tell everything is made fresh in the taste and quality of the food. Eager to try their breakfast and bagels, I came back and got their turkey sausage, egg, and cheese on a garlic bagel. The bagel was so fresh and I enjoyed every bite! It was a beautiful Sunday morning), sun shining, and I decided to go get bagels. Having lived in NY, I truly miss NY Bagels. I know we live in Greensboro, so I just hoped for something close! Decided to try Greenfields NY Deli. It's located off New Garden, with plenty of parking and has seating inside. Upon entry, you get acquainted with the house rules, with some emphasis on customer behavior. I guess people have not been very nice and kids have run rampant in the shop. (I wish I had remembered to take a pic) Side note: Restaurant workers and staff are very hard workers, no need to be a jerk. When I entered, it was actually quiet. I ordered half a dozen bagels and 2 small tubs of cream cheese to go. I was so happy try a new place, and couldn't wait to get home to have some warm toasted bagels with my cream cheese. When I got home, y'all it felt like thunderstorms had set in. They had forgotten to give me one of my cream cheeses. One note on psychology of humans, we tend to feel the pain of loss more acutely than gains of similar level. In the grand scheme of things, it was maybe $6 w/tax -- so really not that much. But you'd have thought I was a toddler with their favorite toy taken away. The feeling that my morning was ruined was difficult to recover from. That drama aside, I can tell you that the garlic bagel I tried was actually very good. It was crusty on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. I ate it with the scallion cream cheese that I got, and it was delicious. We also tried the Cinnamon Raisin bagel, and I don't know if it's that it's always Cinnamon Raisin bagels, but that was a bit more dense. Unfortunately, the missing tub of plain cream cheese meant that we just ate it with butter. I'll definitely be going back to try other deli items, as well as their bagels. But before I leave restaurants now, I'll be checking my order -- good rule to follow for take out going forward. read more

I experienced such hospitality coming into this shop. I appreciated their patience as I came in maybe 10-15 minutes before closing with my son. I decided on a salami sandwich (they'll offer to toast it for you). Look, the macaroni salad was a great side but the onions, spicy mustard, mayo and lettuce on my sandwich was perfect. The bagel was terrible. If you are a "real" deli, the bagel would be room temp with a hard outside and soft inside. It should not have to be toasted if it's "fresh". When I called, the young girl said you asked for it not toasted. Ughhhh! Only a real deli would understand. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. Ordered through Uber Eats for pick up, waited about 15 minutes. I arrived to the store only to find out by the guy behind the counter that they were out of bagels. He said his boss told him to call us that they were out of bagels which was a lie. I never received a call from anyone. He said he had no idea how to refund or cancel the order on Uber Eats and that we had to cancel the order on our end. Why would you accept the order if you can't fulfill the order? You also get charged with a cancellation fee from Uber Eats when you cancel the order, on top of having to contact support and be on hold for about 10 minutes to get the refund from Uber Eats that originally says they can't refund cancelled orders unless you pry it from them. I don't appreciate businesses that waste my time and will not be coming back. I'll head over to New Garden bagel instead. read more

First thing you notice when you walk in is the yeasty smell of fresh bagels which also is the first thing that you see at the counter. The small dining area reminds me of the small delis up in NY/NJ...no frills but you see lot of people gathering their to eat & socialize. We were so excited to be able to get Jewish deli food in NC & this looks very promising. Service was very friendly and efficient. The food fell short of expectations - I guess I'm spoiled growing up in NYC with all the wonderful Jewish delis around me. The Larry Davis special was too salty. The salty nova combined with the salty whitefish salad on a salty everything bagel was just too much. Bagel was also more doughy that what I expect from a good bagel. The corned beef and pastrami sandwiches were both overwhelmed by the generous schmear of deli mustard which was more spicy than wasabi. We couldn't taste the flavor of the meats. I gauge a deli by the matzoh ball soup...First sign that I was setting myself up for disappointment was hearing the familiar beeps of a microwave. The soup didn't taste homemade. It tasted of chicken bouillon from a mix...& was lacking in the onions, celery, carrots & pieces of chicken that I expect from Bubbe's chicken soup recipe. The matzoh ball was just ok. I really want this to be a great bagel experience and I keep giving them another shot and it never is. I've attached a picture of my everything "bagel." First, this is more like a roll - too doughy. Second, I mainly took the picture so you could see the lack of everything. Where are the toppings? This looks like a plain bagel that sat next to an everything bin. Third, and most unfortunate, the service. Once again, I got home and my order was wrong. I ordered two everything bagels with veggie cream cheese and got two with plain. Every time I've gone (this is my third in three years) something gets messed up. I want to like them more, but New Garden Bagels still has a better bagel, and gets my order right. I've ordered from Greenfield's for about a year now, and they have some of the best bagels in Greensboro. Their bagels are always fresh and delicious. My go to is their Egg Everything (which has to be special ordered), bit some of my other favorites include their brown sugar, jalapeño, and most recently, cranberry orange. I don't know if the cranberry orange is a seasonal flavor, but it absolutely delightful. It's exactly what a cranberry orange scone would taste like, even with the sweetness, but without all the sugar. You don't feel like you're eating a bagel because the flavor is rich and festive. While eating it, I also noticed chunks of orange inside, which had sort of a candied orange peel taste to them. I feel lucky I got the last one. If you see it there, don't pass it up. Greenfield's also has great cream cheese. It's super creamy and easy to spread. I always order plain and scallion, and while both are great, the scallion is my favorite. Greenfield's also carries other spreads and desserts, the babaghanoush being another one of my favorites. As mentioned before, you can put in a special order for bagels at least a day prior to pickup. If you want certain bagels or have a larger order, I highly recommend this as sometimes certain bagels can be sold out even early. read more

I've had some great Bagels in New York, Ess-a-Bagel being my favorite in Manhattan so far. But, when I'm home in NC I love that this place is here in Greensboro to get a delicious New York style bagel with great flavor and texture. They all come toasted unless you request it not to be but toasted with butter is my preference anyway. We tried the Everything, Sesame, and a Black Russian(new one I've never heard of)which was pumpernickel with onions. They were all excellent! Generously sprinkled with toppings on both sides and just the right amount of 'tug' to the bread. The staff was super friendly and helpful. (3.5 stars) Despite its name, Greenfield's NY Deli and Bagels has a somewhat convoluted lineage. It was opened last month by Tom and Anthony Cassano, associates of Robin Greenfield, who started the original Greenfield's in Greenville, South Carolina nearly two decades ago. And while Greenfield, known as The Jewish Mayor of Greenville, seemingly adds a touch of authenticity to the operation, she is not a New Yorker but a native Floridian. None of this is reason enough to avoid the establishment, but those who have been to delis in New York/New Jersey should recalibrate their expectations for the Greensboro area. By those standards, Greenfield's is definitely promising, albeit with a few quirks. There is a decent amount of seating, especially relative to New Garden Bagels. A New York City skyline mural spans one wall though much of the décor here is strictly functional. Greenfield's bagel selection, on the other hand, is quite commendable. Though exact availability varies, there were about twenty kinds on hand when I visited, including varieties not easily found elsewhere such as Black Russian and Blueberry Brown Sugar. Spreads, like the bagels, are made in-house. The rest of the menu isn't as expansive, but it does offer both classics (Reubens and pastrami sandwiches) and more recent touches (The Larry David, a shout-out to Curb Your Enthusiasm, features Nova and whitefish on a bagel with lettuce, tomato, capers, and cream cheese). A deli case also features an assortment of salads and sides, there a few baked goods, and like any proper Jewish-style deli, Dr. Brown's sodas are on hand too. For my first visit, I tried an omelet sandwich (egg, cheddar, and pastrami on a plain bagel) as well as an assorted half-dozen bagels and lox spread to go. Those used to the smooth and uniform appearance of mass-produced bagels may be confused by the rougher appearance of the bagels found here, but I took this as a sign that they were homemade. Thankfully, the taste and texture fit the appearance: a crisp, crackly skin and a chewy interior. Legit. The accompanying pastrami was satisfyingly smoky, and the sandwich as a whole seemed well worth repeating. A word of caution, however: this is an omelet sandwich, not a mere egg sandwich. Expect to use two hands. Pricing here varies. At $6.25/half dozen or $12.50/dozen, bagels are about the going rate. The omelet sandwiches start at $4.50 for egg on a bagel and increase accordingly with each topping added. Putting lox on anything brings you over $9. Annoyingly, while prices are listed on the menu at each table, they are not (or at least were not when I visited) listed on the wall behind the counter. The blanks beside each item were perplexing to say the least. Also, while the tie-dye shirted staff were friendly and enthusiastic, they did appear at times distracted. Greenfield's knows how to churn out a quality bagel, and the menu holds enough promise to make return visits likely, but between New Garden Bagels down the road and Giacomo's across the street, there are, for the time being, better options for both bagels and sandwiches in the immediate area. read more
