I'm not much on chain restaurant and avoid them if at all possible, but we found ourselves out and about on a Friday morning and had already passed both local scratch-made bagel shops near home in High Point. Hmpf. Our next stop was the Friendly Center area so a quick search led us here. We both had the pastrami and egg, double egg, and it was tasty. We grabbed two extra bagels for tomorrow's breakfast at home and to try a few other flavors. We are a big spoiled to fresh made bagels, but the sandwiches were good. Service was friendly but the tables (and lots of the dining room) were dirty, despite the restaurant not being busy when we were there. I ordered the double stack bagel (Bacon. Cheese. Egg. Repeat! Cage-free eggs with peppered bacon, American cheese and chipotle mayo on a fresh-baked Cheesy Hash Brown Gourmet Bagel.​) I swapped the American cheese for cheddar. And two hash browns. The food was hot and steaming ! The service was quick and the young lady at the counter was extremely friendly and helpful. The bagel was the perfect breakfast. Two eggs , the crispy crunch of the topping on the bagel (hash brown bagel ) with the chewy softness of the actual bagel was heavenly. I loved the steam rolling off the food from being freshly made. The hash browns were soft and fluffy the cheesy pull told me everything I needed. The only reason I gave them a 4 was there was a piece of the cheese package in my bagel wrapper. Seeing as it wasn't in the sandwich it didn't bother me as much as if I took a bite and it was there. Just not my favorite thing ever to see. I still absolutely smashed my food and I saw it at the beginning. Lasting the shop is a small place maybe two - three families could eat there but I'm a carry out girl anyways so it didn't bother me. I used to love Brueggers but this place is so terrible now. The girl who works the register is nice but the other employees will tell you they can't take your order or talk with you. Today I tried to order where you used to do so. The guy said: "give your order to the girl at the register". So ordered a toasted cinnamon raisin bagel with honey walnut at the register. She relayed it to the guy who said he could not take my order. He then put it together and gave me a the wrong bagel with some sort of hardened sugar all over it. I asked them to fix and they gave me a new burned bagel. So by that time I was done with them and I just ate the non-burnt parts. They were out of hazelnut coffee again -same as last time I was here. It's been months since I've been here. I now recall why! This new group of employees love to talk amongst themselves; they do not greet customers like they used to. The last time I ate here with probably 10 years ago. At that time it had a pleasant atmosphere with more indoor seating. Now there's only two tables and the music is noisy and it's just not a pleasant place anymore. I asked the young lady behind the counter, what happened to the indoor seating and she said "we're such a high traffic business we can't have all that seating" but as you'll see from my photograph, there aren't many people parked out in front. They only have outdoor seating, which is really not very niat this time of year. Furthermore, when the girl finally handed me my bagel, I got a good look at her T-shirt which was covered with grease and had holes in it so it really look bad. Sadly, I think this place has taken a dive over the last few years. And by the way, they didn't even include a napkin with my bagel, nor was it properly toasted. It's cold. I've enjoyed Bruegger's Bagels in the past, so dropped by this location twice on my recent visit to Greensboro and was left underwhelmed both times. The bagels were so-so, the strawberry cream cheese lacked the flavor I remember, and the sausage/egg sandwich wasn't as tasty as I would have hoped. On top of that, the service was on the slow side. I really like Bruegger's, especially this location. I come here at least once a week and I always get a salt bagel with American cheese and bacon! It's one of the only places I can find salt bagels so I really enjoy that. They have a large variety of bagels too. Service is pretty good and it's usually pretty fast. To start off, I walk in there and the lady at the front doesn't greet me doesn't say anything walks over to the computer rudely takes my order. Whatever it's fine I'm cool so I order a plain bagel with bacon egg, and cheese on it.. before I can even tell the lady what I wanted on my bacon, egg and cheese. She had already rung me up so I had to make her ring me up with bacon being extra crispy. Not to mention the fact that I wanted to change the cheese and I didn't get to do that either because she continued to ring me up without listening to what I was saying. Whatever it's cool. I got my bagel. I took it to the car to eat because I'm not eating inside of there. The vibe is completely dead and there was nobody else around. I opened my bagel to see a greasy sloppy Bagel. I mean this bagel was so greasy that it was slipping out of my hands as I picked it up. I know that this is not normal because I worked at a bagel shop and not once did any sandwich I make ever look like that. I spent seven dollars on this Bagel that ended up gagging on and throwing out because the bacon was floppy. The cheese was disgusting and it was absolutely tasteless. I don't ever write but this definitely needed one. All this to say that Bruegger's bagels absolutely sucks and you should never spend your money here because the service is terrible. Since management took the time to respond to my review, I decided to give them another try. It's about seventeen minutes from my house, so it's a little far. I ordered four everything bagels. Instead of the "thank you" I was hoping for, I got a "have a good one". Whatever. But here's the thing: They were kind of busy, I know, but my order was pretty simple. I had to stand there for seven minutes until somebody finally put four bagels in a bag for me. That's a bit much. Also, when you make a purchase, they give you a receipt with a number on it. But when your order is ready, they don't call out the number. That would make too much sense. Instead, they read off the contents of the order. People are kind of stupid, so they don't immediately recognize their order, so the guy has to call it out two or three times. I really don't get that. I wish I could say that it was a better visit than last time, but I cannot. But like I said, the place is crowded, so people put up with it. read more

How disappointing. I was there this past Sunday at about 10. There was no other customer. Many bagels were not available that should have been available - like onion and "everything". Then I ordered a dozed slices of which several were not cut through. When I walked into my house with the bagels in hand, the bag suddenly tore open. I threw out about half (they fell out) and called the store to report this problem with the bag. Despite phone calls and a visit to their web site I was unable to connect to a person. This was frustrating. I would have returned to the store but I don't drive so I had no way to get there. This is a far cry from Bruegger's I used to visit regularly some years ago. Every time I order a bakers dozen of bagels, they short me. Good bagels, but the employees cannot count. This is very frustrating. You literally have to count the bagels before you leave the store in order to avoid getting ripped off. read more

I've been going to this brueggers for years and have always loved it. Everyone has historically been kind, the food good, and the restaurant clean. However, something has changed in the past two years. I no longer enjoy coming here. The restaurant seems very dirty. The checkout area is extremely cluttered and has bagel residue everywhere. All the cooking areas seemed very dirty as well. Customer service has also been lacking. I know that people have off days but i had multiple people treat me like they were annoyed I was there (there was no one else in the restaurant). I'm highly disappointed in this location. Just passing through Greensboro looking for a dozen bagels for our guests and Bruegger's bagels was nearby. Having lived in NYC for 30+ years I will admit I am a bit of a bagel snob. These bagels were fresh and had a very good consistency. They just lacked that slight crispy outer skin, but still, no complaints and I would be back here in NY minute. I also bought a couple of tubs of cream cheeses (plain & veggie) . And they were good but the veggie could have used a little more veggies. I'm a fan. Asked for my money back and was given a run a round and asked to wait while they started to make a new pot. Didn't want to wait and said I'd just prefer a refund. They wouldn't refund my money but instead asked me to write my name and phone number on a piece of paper with a promise to get a call to get my refund. Days later, no refund!, No call. Pros: Nice and clean. Fast service (7:30 AM, there was nobody in the place but me). Bagels taste reasonably good, although a bit on thin side. Cons: tried both the smoked salmon spread and the scallion bacon spread. As close to flavorless as they could possibly be. I honestly thought they made a mistake and just gave me plain cream cheese instead of the smoked salmon. It had neither smoke nor salmon. I had to look closely to find a couple of little specks of pink that indicated that perhaps a salmon had once swam in the vicinity of the cream cheese, but it definitely didn't touch it long enough to leave any flavor. Very disappointing. Similar for the bacon scallion. Just a hint of the theme ingredients, but next to no real flavor. Maybe their sandwiches are better, but their spreads leave a lot to be desired. read more
