I've used Greenforce for window cleaning several times over the last few years and have always had a good experience. So why only 3 stars? Because of a bizarre change in how they calculate their charges. They have a flat charge for the first 10 windows, then the price goes up for each window after that. For years they've been doing all the windows on the upper floor of my house for that minimal rate. In fact, on the first or second visit, their guy said they could do an additional window in a small lightwell -- that I'd been planning to skip to save money -- without going over the minimum charge. They were out today, and shortly after the cleaner left, the office called to say that they'd done 22 windows! Several of my windows are in multiple sections, and apparently they are now counting every separate pane of glass as a separate window. So, for example, a window where one piece of glass is fixed and the other slides was now counted as 2 windows, where it had only been considered 1 before. I explained to the person who called that absolutely nothing had changed; they did precisely the same job they've always charged me the standard minimum for. She said it must have been mis-estimated before, but couldn't explain how you can mis-estimate a job you've done repeatedly in person. She agreed to charge me what they've charged in the past, but said next time it would be nearly twice as much. That's not going to happen. Either I'll use someone else or will drastically cut back on what I have them do. Hey, it's their business and they can define what constitutes a window however they want, but to suddenly and drastically change the calculation with no warning after four years was the kind of shock I don't need. read more

I would give five stars for my bathroom especially the tub and shower no one has ever cleaned my old porcelain tub I was white and clean as they did. Overall everything else was great efficient they arrived on time and I appreciate the use of non-caustic cleaners. read more

Greenforce is great! It was super easy to get in touch with them right away when I called (which usually does not happen) and I was able to schedule the cleaners to come really soon at a convenient time for me (which happens even more rarely) The cleaners arrived right on time, did a really great job, and left my apartment spotless. All the rooms are all done very well, and they don't do annoying thinks like moving your stuff around to different locations. The cleaners finished right on time and did not stay longer or over-charge. Afterwards they even gave me a call to see how satisfied I was, which goes to show they have a pretty good quality control. Overall, great experience and will definitely use them again! read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. Here goes-- my first negative review. DO NOT USE greenforce clean team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And whatever you do, don't take time off of work if you need to schedule them to clean your home. Carpet cleaner guy was over an hour late. My appointment was for 8:00AM. At 8:05am, he called and said he was going to be a little bit late. When I asked him "how late" he said "before 9:00am." Naively, I thought that meant 8:30 or 8:45am. Half an hour late I can handle. He ends up arriving at 9:07am. Since I had to go back to work, I asked him to be honest-- if he could do the job (1 bedroom and 1 rug) in 50 min, we can do the cleaning now. If not, we needed to reschedule. He took his time and surveyed the area. Since he was not able to do it within 50 min, we would have to reschedule. WOW. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME and time off of work. They never came through with their end of the reschedule, so I'm left with the same dirty carpets. DONT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF TIMELY SERVICES. There are so many other places with services that are cheaper, timely, and professional. I chose them because they are a SF based company but apparently they outsource their service providers from the east bay, so it takes them forever to cross the bridge and be on time. They should just be based in East Bay then. What's the point of having a SF based company if your service providers are perpetually late from Bay Bridge traffic? read more

Our house: 1500 sf, 3 br 2 ba, hardwood throughout. We called this team because we had a groupon. Pros: the team was very good. They did a nice job with organizing, making the bed, and deep cleaning our baths and kitchen. The finished floors looked good as well but needed some prompting. The customer service person was super nice, extremely helpful, and had good f/u. She called to let us know that if we needed any translation assistance, to call them. Cons: the floors were not initially done well. My wife had to point out spots where they were still dirty. The cleaner immediately fixed and checked closer. This is the only reason they lost a star. We plan to use them again so they may earn it back. read more

After my initial review, I was contacted by Josh, who works for Greenforce. He agreed that overlooking the shower curtain was not acceptable, and he offered a solution that I was very happy with. I think that the management is genuinely trying to satisfy their customers, which means a lot to me. I would now consider using them again, but would still be sure to check over everything before the cleaners left to be sure they had done a thorough job. But if I couldn't, and something major was overlooked, I would be confident that the management would make it right. I scheduled my appointment with this company and decided to try it out because of the Groupon special. There were many things I found totally unprofessional. When I originally booked my time they said the only time that would work was a time that not convenient for me however given the other options I took it and adjusted my schedule. When they called me to confirm the day before the time was a totally different time. I called them back and said this was not the original time we scheduled based on my calendar invite I had. They said they had no flexibility to adjust so I said I would leave a key and provided idiot proof step by step instructions to access the place. Next I get 2 voice messages saying they don't know my unit number and they wont be able to clean. So clearly the person on the phone did not communicate out to the workers the correct unit number. I get home later to find the tip I left for them was gone yet I sat pondering was my house actually cleaned because it didn't look like it. My stove had stains and looked like it was not touched and when I felt my counters areas seemed cleaned but other areas were overlooked. I called the company to confirm was my place cleaned? They confirmed it had been and I expressed my disappointment even with a discount - I could have hired my 13 year old cousin to do a better job. Needless to say I will never - ever recommend them to anyone and the sad part for this company is the groupon is all about retention and based on my experience they are not proactive. read more

I got a 2hr cleaning with 2 people as a gift. They did a fantastic job! There were stains in the kitchen that I have been trying to get ever since we moved in and they are completely gone! And no smell of bleach - I really appreciated that as I have a 4-month old. I would say that they did not get to everything in the 2 hours (or 4 man hours) for my 2 bed 2 bath apt but they did concentrate on my priorities and I wanted them to really get the bathrooms and kitchen. Overall, Greenforce is top notch. Qing and Angel were my cleaning ladies and I was very impressed with the job they did; so impressed that I decided to write my first Yelp review! They were on time, got down to business (they weren't chatty) and did a really thorough job. I have pretty high standards and I think they actually got my bathtub cleaner than I ever have! They used Bon Ami (which is my favorite natural cleanser) and got our sizable one bedroom apartment sparkling clean in two hours flat. I will definitely use them again. read more

This is a review for their carpet cleaning service. I had a Groupon (for $50, originally, $99) to clean one room but was a little skeptical based on some of these Yelp reviews. They arrived pretty much on time, which was a plus. Friendly service (there were two guys). They cleaned my living room carpet (well, actually one guy did while the supervisor just hung around checking his phone). The cleaning was thorough although I did have to point out some spots that remained and that they went over again. Wasn't as spotless as I had hoped for but it was definitely cleaner. A bonus was that they also cleaned some small area rugs as well. Total time took about 1 hour and fifteen minutes. read more

It was just a surface clean as a few others have mentioned, and not worth the full value and many have mentioned. As many have mentioned, the ladies did not speak or understand much English. OK, after three tries, we finally got the place cleaned. 4.5 starts for cleaning (I've never given 5 stars to a cleaner, so this is high praise) 1 star for back-office and reservations (still amazed at how much they screwed things up) 3 stars for the boss (Josh) making sure to rectify the problems. Even after three tries at getting them here, I still got a call from the cleaning person minutes before my scheduled appointment, asking for my address. Somehow, the office staff even screwed that up. At least they had my phone number correct. Once the cleaning staff was here, they were great. I showed them around, pointed out a few problem areas, gave them each a tip, left to run some errands, and came back to a clean house. Doris and Anna were great. I will use them again, but only because the cleaning was good and relatively cheap for a service like this. But I will only make my reservations through the boss. I don't trust anyone else who answers the phone there. read more

Update-- the customer service is accommodating, not defensive, and fast. Upon reading my review they immediately contacted me and refunded the cost of my service. They did a fine job, were quiet and efficient. I've only had them one time, so I am reserving the five stars. Another annoyed groupon customer here. When I called to schedule my cleaning, I requested an extra thirty minutes because my apartment is a mess (I've been sick for several weeks). The company took my credit card number and said it was no problem. Fast forward three weeks to my appointment. My two cleaning people showed up forty-five minutes early, which was not very convenient for me. I ended up agreeing that they could come thirty minutes early because they said they had lots of other customers. I'm not sure why they couldn't create a schedule that would let them come at the time I booked them, but this wasn't a huge deal for me. The cleaning people walked in, and immediately told me that my apartment was "very messy." Trust me, I know. That's why I hired them. They seemed like nice people, but this struck me as really unprofessional. Then, it turned out that they didn't have my extra thirty minutes on record. I called a supervisor to ask what was up, and he told me they didn't have any record of anyone scheduling this or taking my credit card number. He tried to schedule things so that the cleaners could stay for the extra time, but then told me that they had to leave after an hour because they had other people booked. I don't understand why they came thirty minutes early, but couldn't stay for the thirty minutes I booked. The person I spoke to did apologize, but didn't offer me any way to make up for it. They actually did quite a nice job of cleaning my kitchen and bathroom and washing many of my dishes, but I noticed a strong smell of cleaning products afterward. I booked these people because I have scent allergies, so I didn't appreciate this. The only reason I gave them more than one star is because my bathroom does actually look great, and my kitchen looks pretty good. But I won't be using this service again. read more

I can't tell you how disappointed I was with the whole experience! I normally don't get my house cleaned so this was a special treat. I bought the 3 sessions deal on Groupon for 2 cleaners for 2 hours for $149. I thought it was a fantastic deal and needed the extra help cleaning since we had our baby. The first indication that things wouldn't go smoothly that day was: I received a phone call at 10am asking if the cleaners had come. I was totally confused because my appt was for 3pm, I was outside running errands, and the person on the phone had an incredibly thick accent. I really couldn't even guess what she was saying. She apologized and said she made a mistake. Ok I thought, but was skeptical. 2nd: I get another phone call at 1pm from a different lady. This time I'm seriously annoyed. I tried to find out if they had my correct appt time at all. I asked the person to confirm and call me back. I also specifically asked for a phone # that I could reach a person from the company where I would not get an answering machine. She didn't call me back and gave me the office # which was of course closed on Saturday. We waited hopefully for someone to arrive. 20 min pass, nobody. 1 hour later, I call the office and leave a message stating what had happened. Come Monday, did anyone call me back? No! I call again at 10:30am, speak with Manuel. He said he would have to check with his coworker on my situation. I finally get a phone call and Sabrina(?) says they can come this wkend. I said no I just want a full refund. I have no confidence in this company and don't have another Sat. to waste. She said it would take 2 wks. By this time I'm livid. I told her I wanted an immediate refund. I paid over 4 months ago. I had to argue with her, then she said she would have to call me back. Finally I get a call again and she said ok. I got the refund a few days later but it was a postal money order. This reinforces my thoughts that this is truly a jankey company. Not even a check with the company name printed on it???? My house never got cleaned, I wasted a Saturday, had to fight, and didn't even get an apology. I caution you, this company is terrible. read more

I live in a very small apartment and I figured two people could do wonders in two hours. I used the Greenforce Clean Team services because of the Groupon deal they had. My appointment was at 11am and they were running late so I called the office to ask when the cleaners will arrive. First, they said that the cleaners were 5 minutes away. They ended up being half an hour late and...guess what...they went to the wrong address!!!! Luckily, it was only a block away or I would have to wait even longer. Ok, so total time late was almost 40 minutes! Plus, she parked in our driveway without asking because they didn't want to look for parking. The Groupon deal included cleaning one kitchen and one bathroom. I wanted to maximize the experience so I cleared out all of my stuff in the bathroom (everything) and cleared the items on the counter top of the kitchen. The cleaning lady who worked on the bathroom did an amazing job...totally spotless. The other lady had more to clean in the kitchen and she did a pretty decent job. Overall, the cleaning was really good with the one hour time limit. The one thing that I didn't like is that they should have all the materials needed to do their job, and one lady kept using our paper towels to do their work. That was weird. They do a good job cleaning, but I am deducting three points for being late, not calling to inform me that they were late, and for pushing back my schedule a full hour! read more

Okay, so I used Greenforce because of the Groupon. It was a great deal. $40 for a 2 hour cleaning of your kitchen and bathroom (mine was gross). Here's the highlights: Cleaning - They did a great job! I'm always a little skeptical of "green" cleaning. I usually look at the dirt situation and am all for chemical cleaning the hell out of it. But, hey, after seeing the "green" clean, I gotta say, they did a great job and they had their work cut out for them. If you want a clean apt, use Green Clean. Interaction with Green Clean - okay, this part was lame. Basically we called to use the groupon. 2 hour cleaning of bathroom and kitchen. There was a strong language barrier with the person taking reservation at green clean. I explained I wanted to use my groupon. When asked how many bathrooms, i said i have 1 bathroom, but that there is a toilet room and a room with the shower. So 2 "rooms" but 1 toilet, 1 shower and 1 sink i.e. 1 bathroom. This statement did not go over well with the person at greenclean and i was informed I would be charged an addt'l $22.50 for the second room. I was pretty pissed at this, did not think it was fair, but had already spent $40 on the groupon. I begrudgingly agreed to pay the extra but was certainly not happy about it. Okay, so here's what happened. 2 people showed up and cleaned for 2 hours. Great job, very happy, had to pay extra not happy about that. Then a few days ago, i get a call from Green Clean saying I owe them another $22.50!!! WTF??? Again there was a strong language barrier between myself and the woman calling me. (wasn't sure if it was the same person) I was told we owed the extra money b/c they came and cleaned 2 bathrooms!!! At this point I was confused and angry and demanded the manager... So I talked to Josh. He was AWESOME and salvaged the whole thing. I told him I did not think I owed any addt'l money. And after hearing that I was undercharged for 2 bathrooms, I said I should get my original $22.50 back b/c i was clearly charged for that in error. (I was charged for 2 bathrooms when I only had one to clean). He agreed. And two days later I got a check in the mail refunding my $22.50. Couldn't believe it came that quickly!!! Anyway, b/c this is a company that knows how to fix mistakes (and man the more mistakes I see companies make, the more I value customer service and fixing wrongs) and b/c they did a great job cleaning. I recommend them and tell you you should use them. Just be careful of who you talk to on the phone to make your reservations. Thanks for listening, and enjoy your newly cleaned apartment!! read more

Wow. I can't believe what happened this weekend. I'm dropping my review by 4 stars. I had ordered a carpet cleaning through an Amazon Local deal. In fact, the reason I ordered the house cleaning I reviewed in the 1st place was because they require you to do that to fulfill the carpet cleaning deal. So I paid for a house cleaning on Friday, 3/30, and then I spent my entire Saturday morning (at least 3 hours) moving everything out of my 1 bedroom apt for carpet cleaning at 2pm. The cleaner arrived and his first question was "is there an elevator?" No, it's an old walk-up building. Turns out they are supposed to ask me that on the phone when they book the carpet cleaning. The carpet cleaner said he couldn't bring the machine up the stairs because it's too heavy. (we are on the 3rd floor, #306.) He left and we were left to move everything back in (another 3 hours of work.) -3 stars. Their office rubbed salt in the wound. Here is a summary of what happened when I called to get a refund for carpet cleaning: * They tell me they'll give me a carpet cleaning refund, but I didn't pay the correct amount for my house cleaning on 3/30. I paid the amount quoted on their invoice. * They say why didn't I tell them I am on the 3rd floor? * They say they usually do the 2nd or 3rd floor walk-up, but that my unit was actually on the 4th floor. -1 more star for this nonsense. They are giving me a refund of the carpet cleaning. But nothing will give me back those 6 hours of my Saturday. Shouldn't you be offering me a complimentary house cleaning or something? Greenforce - too late now. No thanks. Let's see if my refund even comes back in the correct amount. It should be $59. read more

They also confirmed the appointment a few hours before to make sure things were on schedule. I even left the house while the ladies cleaned, to return to a bright and shiny smelling home. I tried this company after 2 bad experiences with a different firm. Greenforce called the day before to say they would be here at noon instead of 11:30. No problem. Two young ladies with all supplies needed (including vacuum) arrived and did a fantastic job. We only needed 2 bath & the kitchen done and we were surprised at the attention to detail they took. I'm finally writing my review for my favorite cleaning company Greenforce. If I could give them more Stars I would. THey are extremely professional and get the job done in record time. My house always looks spotless after they come to clean..it's like magic! The staff of cleaners they have are all very nice and dependable and also very trustworthy! Pus--Love the fact that they don't use any toxic products..I have pets so this is a Major requirement. I can't say enough good about the Greenforce but I'm just so happy that I found them--I had a groupon and tried them out and I've been having them coming back to clean my house for the past six months plus. I was very happy with the service from Greenforce. The woman I spoke with on the phone was thorough in her description of the service and made sure I got all the information I needed. They called a day or two before to confirm the appointment. The two women who came to clean my house were on-time (I will always give people an extra 5-10 minutes, especially since parking near my place can be difficult during the day). I didn't need to give the cleaners much direction, since the house was already picked up before they arrived. For two hours they scrubbed, wiped, and cleaned every room in our small 1-bedroom apartment! Both worked hard the entire time, chit chatting every now and then. I liked that they asked me to inspect the house before they left so they could do any touch ups (only a few minor ones were needed). Since I worked from home that day, I was always glad that the apartment didn't smell like chemical cleaners when they left. It's been a week, and my place still looks a million times better than before they came. The stove top is shiny and the bathroom doors are clean. Every time Greenforce is on Groupon we have purchased them and could not be happier. The ladies come on time and clean with non-harsh chemicals, which is a plus as there are little ones and animals in the house. After they are done, the house always looks great! We have been using Greenforce to clean our 1,800 square foot house for a year now. They send a team of two people who spend 1.5 hours cleaning the house every two weeks. The fee is $90 - $120 per cleaning, depending on whether there is a promotion going on, whether we bought a bulk cleaning package, etc. The quality of the work is good. Greenforce uses natural cleaning products such as vinegar instead of potentially harmful chemicals. The upside is we feel better about safety, the downside is natural cleaning products take longer to work or are slightly less effective compared to chemicals. The only real complaint I have is once we had a team that used my wife's beauty products when they thought I wasn't looking (I occasionally work from home). I spoke to management about this, and they followed up with the cleaners who denied it. We switched teams regardless and the 2 teams we have had since then have been great. We'll be using Greenforce for the foreseeable future. They improved my marriage quality because my wife no longer yells at me for not vacuuming or dusting every other week. On top of that, the house looks and smells clean, the bathroom and bedroom are organized, and the trash and recycling are taken out. What could be better than that? read more

I have used several different Bay Area cleaning services in the past year and have been consistently disappointed by the level of service that I have received. I was so pleasantly surprised by Greenforce! I requested a four hour "deep cleaning" of our kitchen and bathroom and asked that they clean the floors and windows of the rest of the house if they had time. They did everything I asked for and it was all done impeccably well with superb attention to detail. The house smelled completely neutral (which is a huge plus as I am currently 9 months pregnant). I was honestly blown away by how clean they got the bathroom, how thorough they were in the kitchen, and how they were able to cover the floors and all of the windows in the time allotted without skimping on anything else I asked for. I purchased a deal for a 2 hour cleaning with these folks. What a rip off! Not only did the 2 women who came only stay for about half an hour, they didn't seem to actually clean anything. Sure, they wiped the counters and the range top, but their goal was to get out of there as quickly as possible rather than get things clean. I'm guessing that this was all because I bought a deal, and they probably treat deal customers as second class citizens, but I absolutely positively won't use them again. read more

I bought a $59 groupon for a 2-hr cleaning ($140 value) in my less than 900 sq ft apt. Communication over the telephone was a bit trying due to the accent but appointment was booked without much problem. Cleaning was done in my absence but my spouse was around. Apparently, my spouse completely left them alone and they finished with 15 min left. I came home and everything looked sparkly clean. But I reserved my judgment until I inspected 3 things. 1. I lifted up the toilet seat and looked between the seat cover and the back toilet rim and all the crannies around the area- clean 2. Wall base - dust-free 3. Edges and grooves behind the kitchen faucet - not 100% but still ok. Bonuses include the stove drip pans that were cleaned as best as they could. Prior to the cleaning, my spouse thought they were beyond rescue. The top of my dresser was super cluttered but the cleaning team managed to successfully clean it. Overall, I would be happy to use their service again. I love that there was no smell of chemicals. At the very least, the service was much better than other cleaning service my friends had used. read more

i'm probably not qualified to comment on cleaning services, as my threshold for mess is pretty high. that high threshold for messiness is one big reason my girlfriend and i have been trying different cleaners since moving in together. we finally found one she likes, and felt strongly enough to review. here are her comments: "before the two cleaners came, i was skeptical about how good a job they would do, because i've been displeased with other cleaners before. but as it turned out, i was very pleased with how throughly these cleaners cleaned my house. i had bought a groupon for 2 cleaners to clean for 2 hours each. immediately, when they walked in the door, i realized that i didn't have to explain what to do. i just sensed that they were competent and that i could leave matters in their hands. that worked very hard, with an attention to detail. when they left the house was spotless. there were no streaks on the mirrors or the kitchen floor. the place looked really good. i hope i can get the same women again." read more

They didn't waste anytime cleaning up my messes, and organizing things I didn't even think needed to be put away. They were very thorough and did a great job. I wish I could give a rave review, but unfortunately not. I was assigned to this cleaner as my previous cleaning company closed. Greenforce do an OK job overall but I must say the level of customer service is quite appalling. There has been many miscommunications with scheduling (which is actually a regular time every second week). But I tend to get repeated phone calls informing me that they will be arriving at a 'different time'. This is not good enough. Additionally, after a number of times explaining areas of improvement required in the overall quality of the cleaning...they either dont listen or dont care to pay attention with the same oversights occurring each time. This is not a service worthy of my money. I would look elsewhere before hiring this company. read more
