I am sitting here in my condo, missing valuable work time, waiting for these ridiculously LATE cleaners to arrive to my place. I had to delay the use of the Groupon by 6 weeks to get a time that fit my work schedule. I even verified yesterday that they would be on time, at 8AM sharp, and they are still not here. The best part is that the driver called from the road to tell me he would be "20 to 40 minutes" late. Well, that's quite a range now isn't it. And he never called his own dispatch to let them know, as Greenforce themselves just called to 'make sure they arrived ok'. Once I told them the situation, they had no answer, no offer of a discount, nothing. We've used other services that charge less, and that have been VERY prompt in our experience. Not the case today. UPDATE: They arrived and started one hour late. But their customer service has contacted me by yelp and by phone to offer a discount to me now, which is appreciated. Apparently dispatch cannot offer discounts, but management can. Overall, I still had a disruption to my work schedule despite my best efforts to avoid it. Perhaps they should send employees who live closer to SF for their SF jobs, instead of from the East Bay. UPDATE #2: One of the customer service heads messaged me and offered a full refund for the cleaning job. This is obviously an outstanding response to customer complaints. I received the reimbursement for the Groupon amount right away. I would have rated them a 5, but I left it at 4 stars because the carpet they cleaned, while not a bad job, had a damp smell to it for the next week, even though it was completely dry - something I've not had with other cleaners. But from a service standpoint, they really can't be beat, and you can be sure you will be satisfied in the end. read more

I chose this company because they are environmentally responsible which is important to me. I hired them to clean my windows and a large glass sunroom. Overall, I was very pleased with the results. The two guys who came to do the work were on time, pleasant and efficient. They were very respectful and wore booties in the house and didn't make any mess which I was concerned about. The windows are spotless and look beautiful. The final cost was $65 higher than I was quoted on the phone so just be aware that that price you are given on the phone is only an estimate and may come in a little higher at the end. I was not upset at the price difference. I felt it was fair for the quality of the work that was performed. I would definitely use them again! read more

i purchased a kitchen and bath cleaning from Greenforce via Groupon a number of months ago. After some initial confusion because they were really busy, I scheduled a cleaning. They showed up 45 minutes early, which is fine. They cleaned the surface of the kitchen, they did not move anything to clean around the edges though nor, did they clean a tiny window sill that is also part of the tiny kitchen. Our bathroom is very very small. It fits a toilet, a sink and shower /bath. it is still kind of dirty...there is hair on the shower walls there is still some grout...which there wasn't a lot of in the shower...just the usual buildup.. but, honestly...whats up? I think that the kitchen could be MUCH BETTER. They didn't move things on the counter like flour canisters to clean under them or around the edges of the counter? or the shelves in the kitchen or the top of the fridge. I was very surprised. I appreciate someone else cleaning for me. But, if its not going to be good, I won't pay for it again. If i had paid full price, I would be really upset. I will not use them again. The girls are nice enough, but I also have to say that the one cleaning my kitchen was on her phone over half the time. I guess she has an earpiece but, maybe this is why she missed so much in the kitchen? I just don't know. She also did not clean under the bottom front of the fridge or the oven. Who cleans a kitchen without wiping out the oven? I must say, the owner followed up again and again. Thought the cleaning was below par, his customer service and his concern for my satisfaction are commendable. If I wasn't so far from SF (san mateo) i might ask them to return . I had major surgery recently and could not clean my home- and didn't want my mom who was nursing me to have to clean. I was referred to Greenforce from a friend whose home is always spotless. She also really cares about the products being used in her house. She uses Greenforce on a regular basis, and I will now as well! Everyone was very courteous, made sure that I was getting want I wanted (and offered additional services, but wasn't offended when I declined), checked in to make sure the team arrived on time, and checked in with me afterwards to make sure everything met my expectations. Nice! The team that did the cleaning was professional, detailed, and nice. If you use Greenforce services in the future, they send the same team to your home (though I'm sure circumstances dictate); I like this idea a lot and it is another part of the reason that I'll be using them in the future. read more

My experience was very similar to other people who bought the Groupon special. I won't recommend Greenforce and do not plan to use them again. The workers arrived late and left early (i used my iPhone's stopwatch to clock the actual time they worked). With 2 people not giving the full amount of time, it came to 20 minutes of time I paid for but did not receive. When I asked them to do a little more work on another bathroom, they gave me major attitude (I only asked them to clean the floor of a very small bathroom). It only seemed fair for me to get the time I paid for. Towards the end, the workers wanted me to look at the work they did. While talking with them, their office called and wanted to talk with me. I asked them to call back, which they never did. It was awkward timing to talk with their customer service while I was trying to talk with their workers. The cleaning they did was mediocre. They threw away an expensive facial product I was using, which I discovered later that night. Not too happy about that! We have had them come twice. Cleaners arrived on time at 7 am with all their gear and ready to go. They have always done a good reasonable job for the four hours they've been there. Baseboards are cleaned as well as the oven and fridge (which I didn't even specify). We have had no strange cleaning supply smells (my toddler is a bulldog on anything perfumed at all). I have to admit, we've used a Groupon and while I am not sure we can afford their full price services, I am going to try because they are worth it. read more

I was really impressed with the cleaning team sent over by Green Force! They did an incredible job cleaning everything they had time to get to as the house had not been deeply cleaned in quite awhile. The did a fine job on the bathrooms, the floors and the kitchen. The before and after was a very noticeable difference. And since they send 2 cleaners they have a good opportunity to get a whole lot done. Well, it doesn't look like I'll get the refund I was promised either!!! Turns out that the owner read my Yelp review (5/6/11) and decided not to honor her original decision. There was no attempt on her part to contact me regarding this issue. I was calling the office multiple times to ask about the refund, since it was not appearing on my cc bill. This morning I was finally told that the owner is no longer interested in resolving this issue. And frankly, I'm concerned that such folks have my cc card number. Terrible service this company entered my unit, when i was out of the country. The management of my building was notified that i did not give my permission for anyone to to enter my unit , when i was not home. Greenforce did enter my unit, and ruined a large plant on my terrace I asked Greenforce to replace the plant and they never even responded to my request . I am a 74 year old disabled man. I am going to have to replace that plant at my own cost, and hire someone else to rent a van take the replacement plant home I can not carry a plant that size myself and my car is not big enough for carry the replacement plant Greenforce left a huge mess on my terrace that i had to pay someone else to clean up Use this companyy at your own peril read more

I had a groupon for a 2-hour kitchen and bathroom cleaning. I scheduled it for 11:00 AM. The person I spoke to said that the coupon was for "two man hours", so actually two people would arrive and work for one hour. This surprised me since their name "Clean Team" makes you think that a team will come out and that the entire team will stay for the allotted time. It is a bit misleading. The day before my appointment, someone left me a reminder message that the cleaners would be there at 8:00 AM. By the time I got the message it was too late to call and straighten things out. Actually, their office hours start at 9:00 but the cleaners arrived at 8:00. It seems the office should be open during the time the cleaners are working, so there's someone to call in case of a problem, but this is not the case. I read in the Greenforce fine print that the cleaners might not speak English. There's a translation service you can call, but the time spent on the phone with the translation service is included in the two hours, which is kind of lousy. At 8:00AM two ladies arrived, both Asian. They spoke a little English and seemed to understand my instructions, but they both immediately began doing something different. I had to watch them and explain with gestures what I wanted them to do (clean only the floors; forget about the rest of the kitchen and bathroom.) Once they got it they worked very hard and did a good job. I gave them a good tip and they were very happy. The main problem with this company is communicating--both with the company and with the workers. read more

I felt safe opening my home to them to work, while I left my home and took care of other business. I took off a star for one reason 1. my appointment was at 3:00 and they showed up a solid 30 minutes early, which left me feeling rushed to get out of the way (small apartment). I must say, they were able to offer me this appointment because someone had cancelled the day before, so I was pleased to have them come so soon after contacting Greenforce, but I was rushed and a little flustered at the significant difference in time. read more

I am pretty much echoing everyone else. I had a groupon, which I guess translates to 'the cleaning people are doing me a favor by even taking the job.' I think I have to give up on using Groupon too because I want quality work regardless of price and I'm tired of the response I am getting from the businesses participating "wait along time for your appointment, expect to be treated as a second class customer, expect us to reschedule and don't complain because you're a coupon-user...." I WANT to pay double the price if that results in a job performed twice as well as it was today. The main problem is that the 2 ladies were slow as molasses and it seemed intentional - seriously. Are they trained to move extra slowly? I think so. I watched 1 lady spend 5 minutes cleaning the door of my stainless steele microwave door, with itsy little strokes... I started to wonder if maybe she was greiving or ill or something. They said 2 hours really means "2 ladies for 1 hour and only kitchen/bathroom." I thought 2 hours just meant 2 hours of cleaning, and my place is small. My kitchen is smaller than my closet and relatively clean, so I figured she'd finish in 20-30 minutes and be able to do some cleaning in the bedroom or living room... and because I have a broken foot, I was really hoping the visit would include cleaning the floors. Once I realized there would only be half the work done that I had hoped for, I decided I might as well start cleaning too. Afterall, I had places to go when they were done and I needed my apartment clean before I left. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because they picked up the pace after I started cleaning my own house along side them, limping on my 1 good foot. They spent the last 10 minutes doing a quick vacuum of the areas I had not already covered and a light/partial mop of the floors. They don't look great but they look better and I didn't have to do the whole thing myself. I did back track and finish cleaning the mirror in the bathroom while they were still here. They left 5 minutes early - I was glad to see them go. I spent another 5 minutes re-washing 2 kitchen cabinets and taking out the trash and decided it looks 'good enough' to move on with my day. Like the others have said, this is surface cleaning only; lots gets skipped and it seems the aim is to do the minimum possible in "2 hours" instead of the maximum. I have someone else for cleaning thankfully. Glad I finally got rid of the coupon. I notice some man from the company replies to all the bad reviews on here asking how they can resolve the issue - I really think you should shut down this business and try something else. I bought a Groupon about a year ago and scheduled for the cleaners to come in to help clean out the kitchen cabinets. Since I have allergies to many cleaning products, I make it very clear when making the appointment that they should bring fragrance free products or better yet use my cleaning products. After reading the Yelp reviews, I was worried that something would go wrong however, they did a good job. Xing Lan, the lead cleaner, and helper arrived ten minutes before the appointment time. I was able to inspect the cleaning products, discuss with her what I wanted done and the time frame that they could accomplish it. I was impressed with Xing's professionalism and her "can do" attitude. She even came prepared with new cotton towels and sponges to do the cleaning. The three of us spent the next hour removing everything out of the cabinets (who knew how much stuff you can accumulate over the years) and while I sorted, tossed & put things in the donation bin, they cleaned out each cabinet & even under the sink. I told Xing that I would put everything back in the cabinets once I confirmed that it was dry. The helper went up and cleaned the bathroom the last 20 minutes and did an ok job. I bought a groupon for a kitchen and bathroom cleaning for $40 (a $89 value) Customer service was fine however after repeating my address a few times, on the day of my appointment I got a call saying they couldn't find my house due to having the wrong address. My kitchen and bathroom are fairly clean as we have 4 roommates and we all alternate cleaning. After coming home I went to check the bathroom(shared by two of us) and notice the mirror had a smudge(neither of us had been home yet), our toiletries in the shower were all mixed together instead of being put on its proper places, there had been a little bug that was dead a day before that was still there but now it was on the floor, and the black shelf on the wall wasn't dusted thoroughly .....then I went to the kitchen only to find that they only cleaned the areas surrounding everything....toaster wasn't moved so there were crumbs underneath, bottles of condiments weren't moved, microwave wasn't cleaned. I understand I paid only $40 for the cleaning and even left a $10 tip, but I expected more than that, specially since it's an $89.00 value. I'm not a complainer but I did call and complain. The lady was polite but said she'd call her cleaners and get back to me. She called back right away saying her cleaners said they did a thorough job and they couldn't do a more detailed job due to lack of time. I had never used a cleaning service before, but had always longed to. And lo! Groupon offers up the opportunity the goods! We scheduled a date and two ladies arrived and then we left for work. All day long, I wiggled and hopped, so excited to come home to see my clean teeny bathroom and my clean teeny kitchen! But... When I got home, and looked around, my response was just "huh." It was fine, but it was not the Wow! I had been hoping for. For the purported 2 hours of work, it was a bit undwerwhelming. The sink and the microwave and the stove top were definitely clean, but there was still dust on the edges of moldings and and on knick-knacks. The toilet was clean, but the bottom of the shower curtain was still grungy. It was like the sort of clean that I'd get if I was scrambling to tidy up in a rush before a dinner party.... acceptable, but not pristine, and certainly not the transcendance I had built it up to be. read more

They failed to show up at the scheduled time, and then didn't even have me in the system when I called to let them know! For the amount you pay, they do a mediocre job. It is surface cleaning only. I decided to try Greenforce Clean Team after seeing an offer on Groupon. Overall, I would say I am relatively pleased with my experience. In the two hour window, the two agents did a great general cleaning. The rugs were vacuumed, the surfaces all washed, and the majority of the dust was cleared. On inspection, there were some areas missed (inside of doorframes, along the sideboards) but as I said, given the time period I think they got a lot covered. They did not clean inside of my toaster or fridge, but I also did not request this. In terms of communication, from booking the appointment, to confirming the arrival of the team, to calling to check on the quality of the service, the staff was professional and diligent. I appreciate how eager they appear to establish their reputation. It is very likely that I will use Greenforce again and would recommend them to others. read more

Great customer service indeed and I appreciate that! However, the cleaning was definitely not worth the money. They did not wash the floors but just swept, did not wipe down a lot of the kitchen, nor did they dust the bookshelves or baseboards. I purchased a Groupon for three cleanings. I had one team for the first two appointments and a second team for the third. These ladies are amazing. They arrived promptly for the first two appointments and the third they were early. They cleaned everything. My microwave looked virtually brand new. The floors were super clean and there was no dust to be found anywhere. They managed to clean areas of my kitchen and bathroom I did not know could be reached/cleaned. Tremendous! Honestly, I did not think they could get any better than they did for the first two appointments. But, a conflict arose for my most recent cleaning and sent a replacement team, after discussing the plan with me. WOW! This team worked from a note in which I stated I had company coming the next morning. They called when they arrived (which is how I know they were early) to cover my priorities and to assure me my place would be great. They went above and beyond and I could not have been happier. As an added bonus, the women are truly lovely people. Everyone from the person taking my appointment on the phone to those cleaning my apartment have been a pleasure to meet. Maybe it should not matter but I always feel better if my spending goes to pleasant people. I am definitely going to keep using Greenforce and you cannot go wrong with either of the two teams I had - both had a team leader named Helen. I was nervous about my first time hiring a cleaning service, but it was a pretty straightforward and easy process. I first went on the website and requested a quote. Greenforce called me the next day and I explained the size of my apartment. The addition of two cats didn't change the quote at all. The phone rep explained that the cleaners would not speak English and I should give her any information about special directions, which I thought was nice. The cleaners showed up on time, cleaned every room and left on time. In the middle of their work we shifted the cats from one room to another room. The cats were unhappy, but every room was thoroughly cleaned. I asked for the cleaners to dust off lintels and other architectural details, which they did. They asked for a stepladder to reach them, I gave them the stepladder, and it worked out fine. I am pretty particular about cleanliness, and I thought they did a thorough job. I didn't ask for the deep cleaning inside cabinets, etc, but I feel like they would have done this well. They did a great job on the bathroom grout. My only concern was that the bathroom smelled pretty strongly of bleach. This didn't bother me much, but could be an issue for some. Also, it looked like they use swiffer-type mops. I wouldn't consider this sustainable, but I can understand why a professional would choose this route rather than a reusable mop, and maybe it saves water. They did a good job, I'm planning to hire them again. read more

The bathroom cleaner did a quick wipe on the bathtub and said the scum was impossible to come off. After the cleaners left I proceeded to buy some cleaning supplies and scrub off all the "impossible" scum myself, which came off with some elbow grease. read more
