This was our 2nd visit to the Greenhouse Cafe. On our first visit I got achicken salad sandwich and my wife got the avocado sprout with chicken. My sandwich was ok but my wife's was outstanding! This time we both got the avocado sprouts with chicken sandwich and it was bland, dry and flavorless. Needless to say th consistency is lacking and with the large number of restaurants available it is very unlikely that we will return. read more

This is by far my favorite new spot in "Cincy". My husband and I stopped for lunch on our way to Columbus. I found Greenhouse Cafe & Bar on Yelp. As soon as I checked out the menu and saw a few pics, I was sold. I was excited just walking up to the building as the exterior is charming. There is an adorable patio that was closed for the season. We were greeted by warm "hellos" when we entered. The menu is the perfect size to give you options, but not overwhelm. We ordered at the counter and went to find a seat. While waiting for our food, I admired the interior decor-- tons of plants. There was also a lot of Grinch stuff (my fav) as it was Christmas week. The food arrived and we dug in. Everything we got was delicious. I ordered the smoke turkey sandwich and my husband got the special: a roast beef sandwich. I ate both of our deli pickles. The only thing that wasn't great was the iced coffee. My husband really didn't enjoy it. I was so tempted to try one of their awesome sounding tea lattes, but decided to try to save a buck. This is exactly the kind of place I've been searching for in Greater Cincinnati! Healthy. Fresh, with lots of vegetables. Reasonably priced. Every item on the menu can be made vegetarian, vegan or gluten free upon request (if they're not already). Updating my review now that I've been back: During my first trip, I ordered the Loaded Potato Bowl, and that was a winner. It was plenty of food, so I actually saved the second half for later. I've also tried the Buffalo Tempeh Salad, which I also liked. If there was a way to chop and mix it all together, though, that would have been even better. I really felt like I was in some holiday hallmark movie sitting outside on their patio taking in the perfect fall weather. ; D The patio area is really cute. I ordered the Chicken Apple Brie which I had on GF bread and their vegan cheese. I say, as long as the vegan cheese is melted...it's really not that bad! Overall the flavor was yummo. I also had their Floral Fog which tasted very watered down. However, I did ask him for it hot and to put an ice cube to cool it down faster, so it might have been the ice cube that made it taste watery. Note to self for next time. Really glad we found this spot while driving through town. I would honestly try the whole menu if I lived local. Fresh drinks and local foods always taste WAY better than conventional. Not only is there a great food and drink selection, the store itself is very inviting with fun decor and plants all over the place. Plus the staff is also knowledgeable and friendly. What a way to kick off 2023! Greenhouse Cafe is prime vibes, ya'll. Why? Because the: 1. Space is cozy, welcoming, and beautiful 2. Positivity radiating from the lady behind the counter. 3. Menu is bomb, esp for health conscious or those with dietary needs & restrictions. Ordered the Buffalo Tempeh Bowl, and it was my first experience with tempeh. If you've never tried, was like a mozzarella stick no cap. Well priced, but could have either used a bigger portion, and/or more protein, as I was hungry about 30 minutes later or less, but was also the first time I ate that day as well. Garlic aioli sauce needs more garlic IMO. Had a Vanilla spiced Chai latte...needed to be steeped longer. Low on chai, but drinkable. To close out the meal, had this paleo peppermint truffle...it was like a yummy, chocolate York peppermint patty! I could have ate 2 dozen of those. So, even though I either need to order more food, or slight tweaks need to be made to bring the flavor, the vibes elevate Greenhouse. Such a cute little place in downtown Lebanon. An unexpected surprise for a plant based family. I love all the plants around the inside of the cafe and nicely decorated. They locally source a lot of their ingredients/products. Service was okay. There were at least four people working and we were the only ones in the restaurant for most of our visit but received little attention and not too friendly. I had the greenhouse melt made vegan and really enjoyed the sandwich. Sandwiches come with a pickle. We got our son the vegan grilled cheese and some kettle chips. He didn't eat much of the sandwich but only because it's sourdough which is quite hard and he's only three. My husband and I both tried it and it was good. It was thin and not overly cheesy which is nice for kids. My husband got the lentil soup and tempeh nuggets. He said the soup was okay but didn't care for the tempeh buffalo nuggets. I tried one and agree, they weren't very good. The tempeh was mushy, the breading soft, and they came out barely warm. He had a local beer and I tried the avocado margarita. Drink was pretty good. I probably wouldn't order it again simply out of preference of not loving frozen drinks. Ot had the consistency of a smoothie because of the avocado. We got some chocolate chunk cookies to go, my son and husband enjoyed them. Bit pricey at $7 for two average sized cookies They looked to be made by another local vendor. If we're ever in the area again we may revisit and give it another try due to the plant based options. We spent over $70 on a meal for two adults and a small child. read more

Visiting family and decided to pop into town to take a look around. This sweet little town was busy with people visiting the farmers market, gathering at restaurants, and shopping. I decided to try out Greenhouse because I needed a pick me up, but was craving something healthy. I splurged and got the Lemon mint kombucha. I love kombucha and this flavor mash-up was light and flavorful. I ordered the Avocado toast and Buffalo tempeh bowl to take back to the house and share with my hubs. It was plentiful for both of us. I preferred the avocado toast--it was more tasty. Buffalo tempeh bowl was good and filling but was lacking in seasoning maybe? I still really enjoyed it and would go back in a heartbeat. So happy to have a local business that has vegan and gluten free options. Their potato bowl tastes amazing and is filling, as are the soups I've tried. Whatever magic they do to the tofu has me hooked. The white bean toast and avocado toast with the GF option are both so good. Dining in during peak dining times can be a little challenging as it's a small dining room; but I'm happy to wait because it means they are popular and staying busy...which hopefully means they stay forever! Tried this place out for the 1st time today; I was happy to see so many vegan options on the menu. Now that I know about it and it's close to home I will definitely be back! To start with I tried the vegan chili (cup size)- very flavorful and delicious ; the vegan roasted fingerling potatoes(side dish) - delicious- never heard of bean bacon that was in it but it was very convincing (bacon is one thing I miss following a plant based diet); and I had the avacado sprout sandwich with shaved tofu. A lot of potential but my menu choice fell short. The Greenhouse Cafe is clean and inviting, with menu choices that are slightly healthier than your typical fast-food choice. With that said, I tried the self-proclaimed "gourmet" chicken apple brie sandwich. The first thing I noticed was that the chicken was dry and on about a third of it, cold. Definitely pre-cooked and reheated. The dryness of the chicken combined with a naturally-dry ciabatta hoagie bun really brings down the enjoyment of the sandwich. Another flavor downfall was the combination of the apple with the "traffic jam," which is made locally. The sweetness of the jam overpowered the apple, leaving it completely lost. Also, the apple slices were too thin. You would expect a bit of crunch from the apple on a gourmet sandwich. it wasn't there. The sandwich comes off dry, dry, slightly cold, and far too sweet. The brie was completely lost in this mix. There wasn't a hint of creaminess to be found. From a "gourmet" sandwich you would expect knowledge of balance: sweet, savory, crunch, freshness, creaminess, etc. This sandwich choice was far from gourmet. It was average, and in fact, setting the gourmet label aside nothing I would ever have again. If the chicken had been cooked fresh and was moist, as it should be, this sandwich would take a huge step up. The apple slices need to be a bit thicker and the jam balanced with something savory. The dryness of the bun is begging for something creamy. It's not there. I rate the Greenhouse a two simply because it was a cold and dry chicken sandwich and not just a mediocre "gourmet" sandwich. I was happy to see that a new place opened up in Downtown Lebanon. It's always nice to have new and exciting choices for lunchtime. I stumbled upon this location by chance and didn't really know what to expect when I walked it. But, I was pleasantly surprised to see how comfortable the place seemed. With all the natural wood, simple decor, and the airiness of the place, I was very impressed. Since they just opened, the menu is very limited but offers a great selection of sandwiches, salads, and pasta bowls - I think that's what they are called. They do not have fountain drinks but offers paper boxed water and other beverages in a cooler. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich on quinoa​ bread. It was a tad dry- it needed more mayo- but otherwise very delicious. I wish they sold the bread by the loaves because I would be their number one seller. It was delicious. The owner said that as they mature, the menu would expand and more choices, as far as sides, would be available. Right now, chips are available in two different flavors. I didn't enjoy my chips and wouldn't get them again. But, as far as the sandwich, I would get that again and again. The food is fresh, healthy and made to order. This establishment also offers ​alcohol and smoothie bar. I'm sure it also offers more than I know about but I'll learn more after several more trips. read more
