I grabbed a sushi roll that was half California roll and half spicy tuna, deviled eggs and sticky mango rice, and it was honestly so good. Everything tasted super fresh, like it was made that day and not just sitting around. They also have a bunch of Asian snacks, sauces, kimchi, fresh juices, and even sandwiches and if sushi isn't your thing. It's one of those small markets where you walk in and suddenly want to try everything. The best part? The sushi was so good I ended up coming back the next day for lunch with my coworkers. Oishi! Freshly rolled sushi made from scratch, kimchi, Asian sauces, freshly made juices and tempting Japanese and Korean chips. As well as fresh produce & yummy sandwiches and pastas. My favorite food is Japanese, Thai & Korean food so everything here was to my liking. They used to have a frozen yogurt machine here but they got rid of it because they were running out of space the kind lady at the front told me. It's a very small family run business, everything is made fresh daily so you get different items all the time. I got the sushi roll that had California roll and half spicy tuna with some freshly made Ponzu sauce. It was so flavorful. The rice was perfectly made. I think that is one of the hardest things to get right when you make sushi, is that rice. Ambience wise, it was fairly empty that day on a Friday evening. Very calm inside, I noticed all the workers in the back were Hispanic and spoke Spanish. The two ladies at the front appeared to be of either Korean or Japanese descent, they were very kind and polite. Everything is definitely on the pricey side. The sushi roll that I got & a bottle of mineral water cost me around $14. Nowadays that is about average for what you spend when you buy food. The parking situation is very tight because they share a parking lot with Trader Joe's. It can be a little chaotic to find a parking spot. I'm so happy to have an Asian marketplace nearby! read more

My favorite local mom and pop grocery shop store market with fresh produce, great deals and those amazing pre-made noms including wraps, salads, sandwiches, sushi rolls, soups and more! You can grab a premade juice or have them blend up one for you in the back. They share a lot with Trader Joe's currently (soon to relocated just across the street). The vegan egg rolls are out of this world and they often have them hot and fresh for you to purchase in front as well as those decadent cookies. Lots of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free items as well. Aside for small grocer market essentials they offer some great miscellaneous items including plants, masks, self care items and more. Bottle and canned beverages are quite the assortment from green tea to still or sparkling water, olipop, bai, gatorade and even cbd beverages. The customer service is stellar. Even though the prices have slightly shifted up to keep up with times, the quality never changes. Still a cool clean store with great staff, some limited cafe style seating in front, seasonal items and street or lot parking. Not sure what the hype is about this place. The sushi is an extremely limited selection and the prices are higher than at my local sushi spot. I picked up a spicy tuna hand roll and a California cut roll and both were just meh. There wasn't enough rice in the hand rolls and the rice on the California roll was kind of slimy. I picked both items up before noon on a Friday so you would expect them to be fresh but these seemed like they could have been sitting for a while. Doubt I'll ever return. read more

Picked up a poke bowl and it was delicious. The fish tasted fresh and we brought it home and ate it with rice as it only had veggies with it. I come here multiple times a week for the sushi and the miso. It is always phenomenal. The price is super reasonable for how great and fresh it tastes. I really like their farm Poké bowl. I love supporting small businesses and this particular one is a tiny Korean market located in the Trader Joe's in Sherman Oaks shopping center. It seems they excel in prepared foods that they make "in-house" in the kitchen in the back. They also have sushi rolls if that's your thing. I spotted some gimbap (Korean sushi rolls for $8.99), but maybe I'll try that next time. Along with some Korean and Asian (and gourmet) products, they sell produce as well. Some of the items they carry are less expensive at larger grocery stores or at Trader Joe's or even Aldi's and some seemed less expensive. The organic strawberries were a reasonable $1.99. They have interesting baked goods for sale and I was scoping out the Asian and American prepared foods and didn't see the use of MSG. I picked up some kimchi, limes that look promising (hoping for juice!), onigiri type or flavor I haven't seen at the Japanese grocery store, and ginger candies to help me get through an upcoming cruise. read more

I've driven by this place countless times in the last decade and I finally stopped in today. This is a cute little grocery store with produce, Asian sauces, snacks, and a wide selection of grab and go food options. I really wish this place was by my work or at least on the route because there were so many things I wanted to try! But today I decided on a spam, chicken katsu, and bulgogi musubi, along with a sesame spinach salad. The salad was fresh and flavorful. Nice and light with the perfect amount of sesame oil for flavor. Spam musubi was tasty and well seasoned. Haven't tried the other two musubis yet but I'm sure they're equally tasty. There is also a fresh juice bar and miso soup (which is behind the counter at the entrance) that I wish I saw before I finished paying because I definitely would have gotten some of that too! A friend of mine has been telling me to come here and I'm so glad I did! This grocery store is tiny but mighty. It had everything I needed and more. I bought two sushi rolls, 3 Korean side dishes, some produce, musubi, fresh juice, and pantry essentials like soy sauce, sesame oil, and rice wine vinegar. Despite its small sauce, I feel like there was more that I didn't get a chance to take a look at. They also have a plethora of ready made food for quick lunches, or even breakfast (yogurts and juices in the back). The food is a mix of Asian and American foods like sushi, Chinese chicken salads, Korean noodle salads, turkey sandwiches, tempura, and chicken katsu. If you're not looking for ready made food, you can shop for fresh fruits and veggies, with better quality and usually better prices than Trader Joe's next door. If you're looking for meat, that will be in the freezer section only unfortunately. But, they have amazing Korean beef and chicken bulgogi! FARM BOY I LOVE YOU! I crave their premade meals. They have so many fresh and delicious options that are great meals when you are in a pinch or have a craving for some delicious Asian cuisine. When I am feeling lazy about making my lunch, I stop in and pick up a few meals for the week like their soba noodle bowl, chinese chicken salad, poke bowl or bibimbap. A lot of the premade food is vegetable based so the meals always feel really light and healthy. Also the quality of their sushi is GREAT! Not what you would expect from a tiny little market. Fish is always fresh and they don't skimp on the fish in their rolls. I feel like their produce can be hit or miss, but they usually have big beautiful fresh roses that are always fun to admire. I also always get a BIG container of their brown (purple-ish) rice and miso soup. Both are behind the register so you can ask when you check out. At the register you can find all of their delicious baked goods. I have been eyeing the chocolate chip cookies for a while, but I've only ever tried the banana bread. If you haven't been to farm boy, you are REALLY missing out! Pop in on your next lunch break! But don't go right before they close because they will be sold out of most of their premade goodies. Enter Farm Boy, to save the day. Most recently I needed a cup of shredded coconut, Trader Joes was out and apparently has been for quite some time. I told my son I needed to pop into Farm Boy to see if they did, not only did they, they had a TON of it. Super yummy, super fresh, WAY better than Trader Joe's shredded coconut. Totally saved the day, the day being my Banana Bundt Bread - ok, not mine but Chrissy Teigen's - yea yea is she still canceled...? Who knows and idgaf this recipe slaps and I love making it. I really need to stop sleeping on Farm Boy and just give them the attention they deserve, tons of fresh produce, gorgeous fresh flowers, great customer service. They take credit/debit cards with a minimum $5 purchase, with everything priced so low I had to scrounge up some change to come up with a couple bucks for my coconut. I'm always such a happy camper after coming here. Whether I came for produce, a sandwich, or a quick sushi roll, I'm always extra pleased and leave with more than what I need. The sesame dressing is out of this world!! I could drink that stuff by the gallon.
