The eyebrow tint and threading I received were ok (not the best), but I was very disappointed by the customer service here. I arrived on time for my appointment, and there was a client midway through a service. I had to wait 15 minutes, which isn't a huge deal, but there wasn't any acknowledgement of my appointment time or even a "welcome in". When I was told to sit down, Rekha proceeded to take a lot of photos of my face, and though there is a sign on the wall stating that these pictures are for educational purposes, I felt much more like a marketing tool than a valued client. I immediately noticed her using the same, unwashed brush on my face that she had used on her previous client. She talked herself up a lot and made some insensitive comments about how next time I could be "brave" and have my upper lip done. She also interrupted my service about halfway through to take care of a quick walk-in, which, again, wouldn't be a huge deal if she had been more polite about it. The end of the service felt rushed to me, which was probably because there was a long line of people waiting. Rekha had apparently booked two clients for the same appointment slot and also told a few others who had called that she had time for walk-ins. I know that mistakes happen, but she really didn't seem to care much, and it was very chaotic. I had also scheduled an eyelash tinting with her, which she forgot about and said she didn't have time for. At that point, though, I was happy to get out of there. TL;DR: Ok, not great threading and eyebrow tint, terrible customer service and subpar cleanliness.

My technician was efficient, she asked me what I wanted first and was very thorough taming my bushy eyebrows. She applied witch hazel at the end and the entire process took about 10-15 minutes. Do note that there is not tip line on the receipt, so be sure to bring cash! I walked here, so I can't vouch for parking, but I did notice a parking garage just up the street. I'll definitely make this my regular spot while I'm in Providence.

Also some stylist require you to stay absolutely still for the entire 4 hour visit. The blame issues on bad color cut or timing on of you move in the chair. It expensive with no perks. No changing room no coat check. No water or coffee. Over priced budget service and every single person leaving the salon has the same cut and color.

Every-time I left the salon I was disappointed and felt worse than when I came in. I don't like ashy tones on myself, and every. single. time. I would voice I don't like this color, it's too ashy, and the stylist would just dismiss me and tell me that it's blonde and made me feel belittled to where I felt like my own opinion of my hair didn't matter. I've never left this salon happy with my hair, I've voiced my concern multiple times, but the atmosphere here doesn't feel welcoming if you voice your concerns so why would you want to go back for their "one week" guarantee. Shame on me for continuing to go back, I felt that if I kept giving it a shot maybe eventually my hair would look how the photos of my actual hair was before I moved, but low and behold, my hair is currently darker than my natural hair color.. My most recent visit is the reason for the review, and the reason I will not return, and encourage others to be cautious before choosing this salon. I came for a partial highlight, days before being in my best friends wedding to get lightened up before the big day. What a disaster. Immediately the stylist greeted me and said my hair was green( I disagreed), and asked if I've been in a pool- I haven't, as any blonde knows don't mix your hair with chlorine. She then asked if I had moved, which I had. I then explained that we had a brand new water filtration system installed, as well as a softener but she insisted that the well water caused my hair to be "green" Then we proceed, a few hours later I end up with my hair in a slicked back bun, because they can't get my hair untangled. I was sent home with my hair in a sopping wet bun and told to come back tomorrow. Never in my life have I heard of a salon sending you home and being told they'll fix it later. Needless to say. I went home crying. I called the company that installed our water system, they came out to our house the next day to test our water. Water results came back in, our water Ph, iron levels, etc were better than that of city water... so I'm not sure that my well is to be blamed for how wrecked my hair came out leaving this salon when I've had well water my whole life and my hair never ended up this tangled in my life. I rearranged my entire schedule to come back the next day, they shampooed me, and my hair was dark and ashy... surprise surprise. Disappointed yet again. I went to 2 other highly rated salons in the area to get a consult and another opinion, needless to say they completely disagreed with studio 101 assessment of my hair and did not think my hair had any damage from well water and I showed them the results from our water test. Thankfully I was able to have my hair fixed and highlights put back in from another salon. After paying thousands $$ and numerous visits being disappointed, voicing my concerns- yet being dismissed every time I will not be returning and I would urge others to be wary.

GreenProse is a great place! My husband, son, and I all had our haircuts (and color for me) done within the last couple of months and we couldn't be happier with the service! The owner is very knowledgeable (actually comes from the medical field) and we had a nice conversation while I was waiting for my color to set. We also can't say enough about our hair stylist (whose more like our friend) who we've been following for years! Jen recently started working at GreenProse and she's the best in the business! Not only is she fantastic at everything she does at GreenProse, but she's also a super sweet person who makes you feel right at home. GreenProse is also very clean and professional, they use only organic hair color, and the salon has that warm welcoming feel to it as soon as you walk in. Last, but definitely not least, they offer other services as well like nails and waxing. Their website lists all of the other services. And, we already have our next appointment booked! read more

Wow! Providence in Providence. I never write reviews but stumbling upon GreendProse Salon after brunch one morning I was surprised by the best haircut ever! Sabrina's hands felt like an angel's in their dexterity and skill. All the next week, people kept complimenting the cut. I was also surprised and impressed to learn that their products are all organic. I have always been startled to learn how easily we overlook how toxic those chemicals otherwise are. I'm appreciative for the awareness of management and their taking the time and concern to research this for us and provide a timely alternative. Our bridal party visited the Femme Fatale hair stylists and makeup artist Jane Sincere the morning of my daughter's wedding. It was like visiting a spa - relaxing and fun. We are all from out of town, so they were dealing with all new clients. The hairstylists - Jillian, Rebecca, and Kassiane - are pros who can take whomever sits in her chair and make them look gorgeous! My daughter and I also had our makeup done by Jane. We both prefer a natural look and Jane accommodated. My daughter looked stunning, and people told me I looked better than ever. Jane is a true gem of a person. I've been seeing Sara M. there for cut and color for several years now. Sara helps me achieve my blonde ambitions without bleaching, and my hair is about a billion times healthier as a result! She does a great job with my cut and layers, too, and does one heck of a blowout. The salon is stylish looking, and the color scheme very relaxing. It has 4 haircutting stations separated by mirrors and sheer curtains, and a nice little side room with two sinks for shampooing with comfy chairs that support your neck. There is also a room for getting one's nails did (as they say). I've only been there to see Sara, but everyone else who works there is perfectly pleasant! I love coming in for my appointments here--great conversation while Miss Sara works on my hair, and I get a nice cup of coffee or tea and a stack of gossipy magazines to thumb through while my color processes.
