They have a deli, vast meat selection, and hot food to order! They also have lunch specials so there's really never a bad time to come. Everyone who works here is so friendly, willing to offer help, suggestions, and food pairings. There is a small seating area inside but tables available on the front porch as well! Every visit here for us is a treat, but there are a few items that are consistently at the top of our list. I am absolutely obsessed with their pickle roll-up pasta salad. It's uniquely delicious and has that perfect tangy, savory balance that keeps me coming back for more. Their honey dill smoked salmon is another personal favorite; it's incredibly tender with a beautiful smoky flavor and just the right hint of sweet honey and dill. My husband is equally in love with their maple glaze smoked salmon - it's sweet, rich, and perfectly smoked. And for a quick, satisfying snack, his go-to is always their turkey jerky, which is packed with flavor. Beyond the specialty items, their fresh meats are simply unmatched! We've bought many of their steaks, and they are consistently fantastic (highly recommend their NY strips and tomahawks when you feel fancy). No matter how we grill them, they always turn out incredibly moist and juicy. But the real star in the grilling department I think might just be their brats. Seriously, the casing on these brats is perfection - it crisps up beautifully on the grill, creating that satisfying snap with every bite. I've tried brats from so many places, and none come close to the crispiness and flavor of theirs. The quality, flavor, and unique selection here truly make it a standout. I have always liked the wild rice one- although Im not sure if they stopped making it or if its just seasonal. The breakfast burrito is also amazing. They have cry baby craigs hot sauce- if you know you know.

I immediately started to worry. Unfortunately my worries have slowly " come true" ...and with an extremely upset heart, Crossroads has changed. Scott and Stu had dedication and sheer love of cooking and baking with the BEST of ingredients and exquisite rare perfect use of spices. Their flavors in everything they touched were some of the VERY BEST I have experienced nationally and in my home state of NY where my father taught Biochemistry in the Bronx at Einstein Med School (1955-1980) and where my intense passion for Delicatessen cuisine originated. Coming almost daily to Crossroads truly made my day! I adored EVERYTHING they created. Even shipped a large lemon coconut cake to mom's beloved 90 year old boss at Scarsdale Medical Center 8 years ago! Today: Their rye bread with caraway seeds was identical to Grossinger's. Now almost zero flavor. The broasted chicken if served hot fresh out of the cooker is still excellent. Some of the original spices gone. The lemon coconut cake has zero real lemon flavor just deep yellow coloring, Their pastrami and corned beef also lost 1/3 to 1/2 of their original flavor plus the size of the sandwiches 1/3-1/2 the original size. The new main dishes are almost tasteless. Their original recipes for matzo ball soup, etc are still good - - vary 8-10 rating. They no longer use as much/ perhaps any butter in their coffee cake " breads" which used to be a 10. Many cookies and tiny pastries in the same display case are still good. Compared to many other restaurants today they are now just " an ok". Gone are the days when Crossroads Deli was " TRULY SPECTACULAR "......

    It's been a few years since my last review of Crossroads Deli, but my rating remains high. Their…read morematzo ball soup is one of the best versions available in the Twin Cities. Today I tried their Roast Beef on Weck, which is carved roast beef on a type of roll called a Weck (a Kaiser-style roll topped with coarse salt and caraway seeds.). The restaurant was busy, and this is not a trendy place! I'd be surprised if there was anyone in the restaurant who was not of Medicare age (which also describes me; I'm not being ageist, just truthful). This is something that is available for lunch, during the week (not on weekends). Previously, I wanted to order this before. It was at the beginning of the lunch hour, so unfortunately the end pieces were cooked well-done. I asked if they would cut from the center, which is much more rare, but they wouldn't do that. This time, we came later and I could see that the roast beef was gloriously rare, which is what I like. The sandwich was quite enjoyable because it was juicy and flavorful. It comes with a side of cole slaw which is vinegar based (which I liked, but isn't traditional in the Midwest). It's difficult to find good, rare roast been in the Twin Cities, so this was another good find. My wife had the matzo ball soup, which remains high quality. The beef on weck sandwich (with coleslaw) was nearly $20, which is a bit on the expensive side. The service is spotty. It depends upon who is your waitstaff person (I knew it would be slow based on our previous experience with this person).
